Cold and unrelenting Roland seems to be a nasty emotionless brute at times but this is not his entire nature. He has suffered much over the years and has become more battle hardened then most, suffering and death mean little to him because he has seen them all before. he is no sadist and finds no pleasure in causing suffering but he finds his work and its occasionally needed brutality to be for the greater good of mankind and the state. Roland is humorless and treats any one of lesser rank more as a resource then an actual person. he doesn't take kindly to any breach of duty may it be sloppiness or simple mistakes, his punishments are always harsh and severe. Roland takes his work personally; any job he can do himself he will do but he knows how to keep his distance from the subjects and personnel of the facility to preserve and expand the effect of fear he hopes to create. Roland has however a few moral mostly professional boundaries even he will not cross and will do his all to uphold; he detests any unnecessary use of force, violence and cruelty and knows exactly when some one has truly been fatally overstretched or overused. he will not ignore or forgive such actions and will often see to the correction of such personally however such actions do not come from pity, more from a professional viewpoint about the proper use of resources.
Roland Privately dislikes the nature of the experiments but understands the reasons for them, he distances himself from the scientists and for the most part leaves them to their work (while closely monitored) if any of the scientists begin to challenge, question or usurp his authority he may execute martial law just to prove a point to them about the matter. He has a poor opinion of children and accepts the reality that they are needed for the experiments and if it takes the lives of a few kids to safeguard the future of the nation so be it.

Roland Steel has seen his share of wars and has also been held as a captive by enemy militants for 5 years. being the only survivor of this experience and after suffering numerous psychical and mental scars he has since been sent to deal with more internal matters. after running several prisons and crushing a number of riots in less fortunate prisons Roland has since been employed in more important operations. with as his name says cold steel loyalty and unwavering accountability Roland has served in many top secret and risky operations. the latest operation he currently runes isn't his first operation with scientists and experiments, Roland knows hit trade and has never failed to carry out his duty since his unfortunate military service in hostile countries.
