“IN THE LITTLE WORLD IN WHICH CHILDREN HAVE THEIR EXISTENCE WHOSOEVER BRINGS THEM UP, THERE'S NOTHING SO FINELY PERCEIVED AND SO FINELY FELT, AS INJUSTICE..”

Harry Potter, a name that still entices a fire even in the most frayed of minds. Decades later and elders can still remember the lightning scarred boy, and his rally to bring peace to the Wizarding world, but just as quickly as hope came, it left when he willingly died from the same spell that marked him for life. A sacrifice deemed necessary, and as the story goes, Harry had faith in his friends that they’d finish the job, but they couldn’t, not with the Death Eaters at their neck, and certainly not with Harry dead and gone. So they would be witness to a new world, a future distorted by the despotic Dark Lord, as he would never allow anyone else to expose his weakness once again. With no one to challenge him it became clear that his next step was to start his conquest with the Wizarding communities and sway them with his sinister bigotry, and his absolute distaste for the Muggles. Yet, even in all his insanity, Voldemort could foresee something that he felt the fools at the Ministry could not. There would come a day when the Muggles would find out about their world and surely they would see Wizards as nothing but a threat.

It was his initiative to make it known, the Muggles would not subjugate his people he wouldn’t dare allow them to, and so he delayed his true plans for a decade and built his armies out of young impressionable wizards. When the time came to strike the Muggles were vastly unprepared, their technology had not advanced enough to face the terror the Wizarding populace emanated. Regardless, they set their sights on a war they would lose, it would only take as much time as it took to build his armies to whittle down what was left of the Muggles resources and furthermore their resolve to fight. Eventually, it became apparent that the man would get what he desired; a world where Wizards had no reasons to bow to the whims of a weaker kind, no need to hide their wands, their magic, to be feared and burned at the stake. He would show the Muggles that they had no reason to believe in hope. He would create a society, the Perfect Pureblood Society, a “Purus Sanguins Congregatio”

Nearly 80 years later, and nothing resembles the world Harry Potter once knew, many suffer, and others prosper. Yet, the one thing that never changes is the spirit of rebellion within the populace, the need for freedom, knowing and hoping that an unreasonable world can be mended. Even in this society it is known that people defy the rules set by the Dark Lord himself, and at Remington; one of the first wizarding schools in North America it is plenty obvious that such rules are meant to be broken. Here, we will witness the rise of new heroes, to face the evident reality that the once fearsome Dark Lord is supposedly weakening. His refusal to host public speeches, and the fact that not a soul has witnessed the use of his magic in the last 7 years, has led others to believe that perhaps the precious horcruxes, or rather what’s left of them, are not as potent as they all might believe. This rumor has awakened a fire unlike any other in the hearts and minds of those who have suffered long enough in this world, who have heard the curses and frustrations of their elders, the hope that someone would finish the job Harry Potter had started. That the world could change, no….that it should change.

Formed in 1750, Remington Academy was one the first magical institutions established in North America, starting off as a small boarding school, in one of the few insular magical communities in the colonies. There were perhaps less than 20 students from its first graduating class, in those days witchcraft was strictly prohibited and hidden with the utmost of secrecy, the danger of being burned at the stake for performing magic was a great burden upon the small Wizarding community, and yet still they prospered when it seemed they would hardly catch a break from the ever watchful Mundanes. As of now, it resides far upstate in the small city of Portland, Maine.

Nicknamed the Castle by the Sea, the first detail most people notice is that the Manor is stationed by the seemingly perilous Gulf Of Maine, framed by the usually dark clouds, and ominous light house. Before the War, most Mundanes thought the castle was simply haunted, and no companies would dare turn it into a tourist attraction. Little did they know of the glamours making the castle seem decrepit and dangerous, but to any eye trained in the magical arts, it is as majestic as anyone could imagine.

The School would later become one of the most prestigious Academies the Americas could produce, purporting a curriculum on the many unique cultural magical institutions often times unknown to the rest of the world. It’s views on magic and the knowledge gained from it are seen as progressive. Even Voldemort’s acquisition of the magical world and later the Muggle world did little to stem this development and the tradition of these magics continue today.

While Remington is largely seen as above the politics of this New World Order, they are not blind to the suffering of others. The Academy holds the burden and secret of hoarding students from the Servus and Supernatural classes, looking to diversify its population, while also saving potential students from a lifetime of struggle and slavery. It is seen by many to be the key to revolution if power is placed in the hands of the disenfranchised students, but the effects of such has yet to be directly seen, and it seems the eyes of Death Eaters and the Fraternity have been called upon the Halls of Remington as an attempt to root out possible dissenters from the population. Surprisingly, no action has been taken against the Dean and his staff, as nothing concrete has been found, though no one, especially those who know their true place is holding their breaths for an easy year.
