"Okay, a new sight model, another magazine set and a hamburger. That it?"

a character in “Sinner's Circus”, as played by SkyCladSaya06

Description

Image

"I see. Well then--let's begin."

Image
Name: Izumi Kimura
"Izumi here! Nice to meet you homie!"

Age: 17
"I'm 17!"

Gender: Female
"I'm a guy--wait, that's not right."

Theme Song: Cat Food - Doriko, Wotamin cover
"I say nya-o! Why am I still unable to utter even your name right?"

Side: (Circus/Synchronicity)
"Ehehe...surprised?"

Role: Child of Diligence
"I'm Rin's child! Wait, that didn't sound right either, ehehe..."

Personality: Izumi is very--eccentric and energetic. She has no trouble teasing the people around her, often sticking her nose into others' business, much to their annoyance. She can easily get into trouble which she quickly apologizes for, often with a small chuckle or laugh.

She is also very diligent, much like the Entity that chose her. At home, she is always studying and planning, often looking for ways to help out even in her own, little way resulting in some cunning, and backhanded dealing. Usually responsible for Rin's armament and ammunition orders, she has also gained quite a good negotiating skill, able to strike good deals for good prices.

Image
Appearance: She has short blonde hair and big reddish-orange eyes. Her incisors are quite sharp, making a smile similar to a shark when she grins. She is quite short, standing at 4'9"' and weighs 42 kg, thanks to a small frame. She usually wears some sort of school uniform consisting of a black, short-sleeved blazer with yellow linings over a white, button-up shirt with a red short skirt and a red bow.

History: Izumi is literally, a foreigner, studying in one of the most prestigious and classiest schools in Friergate. Her parents were huge business tycoons who owned several franchises in their home country. She was studying in Friergate since her family wanted to expand operations in this city but aren't able to yet, thanks to them being wary of Friergate's notorious reputation. She was to study and at the same time, scout for good places to setup shop. They already own a luxury condominium there so, she opted to stay there rather than look for another place to rent. Their staff were locals though so, she once overheard them talking about the infamous, Sinner's Circus which got her interest.

She dug some more information by asking around and doing her own research and learned of the existence of another, opposing group: Synchronicity. She then thought "Hey, if I can get rid of the Circus, maybe our family can expand operations here and have me inherit the entire franchise!" She then searched for this other group, diligently persevering in both this endeavor and her studies. She managed to find Rin by chance and offered to be her catalyst--or Child, as they call them.

Staying with this group though, eventually, their ideals started to rub off her, making her want to beat Circus without thinking of any reward at all. Eventually, she just wanted that all of them survive this ordeal, no matter how hard it is though.

Why did you accept the contract? "Hehe, I volunteered so, how could I not accept?"

Weapons and Abilities
Overview:

Izumi's strength lies in negotiating and making deals with people, allowing her to supply Rin with all the armaments she asks for as well as the other members, if they ask for it. She is also adept at making false information and documents that she uses to purchase guns and other equipment. She also makes a good accountant. Initially, she doesn't really have any powers or things like that but, she received some physical enhancement after her contract with Rin was forged.

Still, she isn't really a fighter than she is a sponsor so, she doesn't really accompany Synchronicity in their missions, opting to stay behind at their base. Due to the nature of her contract with Rin though, she had developed some uncanny and unorthodox magical abilities.

Her Weapons: - Rin has her carry some weapons in case she needed to buy time to escape. She was taught how to handle knives and firearms but, isn't really good at it. Her accuracy is even worse than Rin, coming in at only 23%.

Spectre M4 - A rare, Italian sub-machine gun. It is rather heavy, weighing in at more than 3 kg, requiring Izumi to use both hands to fire it, though she literally can with only one but not as stable. It is equipped with simple iron sights and a 50-round, casket magazine to eliminate the need for constant reloading. Like Rin's Beretta, it also fires modified .45 ACP bullets with emphasis on stopping power but low velocity. This was chosen so she can use spray tactics due to her low accuracy. It is heavy though, so she only brings it whenever she has to meet with someone to pick up a deal.

Eickhorn Advanced Combat Knife - Izumi carries two of this model with her for self defense. It is a German-made, multipurpose knife that is 355mm long and weighs only 440 grams with the sheath, making it easy to conceal. She isn't that adept at this as well and her skill in using it is just a little bit inferior to Rin's.

Magic: - Due to the nature of her contract with Rin, the magic she gained is also strange by the group's standards. It is nothing too flashy like summoning elemental attacks or familiars but, it gets the job done and compliments her contractor well.

Damage Enchantment - Izumi has an uncanny ability of enhancing normal, human weapons into items that can damage Entities. She uses this on their bullets and knives.

Background Meld - Due to their contract, Izumi has gained an ability that lets her turn completely invisible. It wears off after 10 minutes and requires around a full day's rest to recover. Her invisibility can also be dispelled if someone touches her but, she will only be visible to that person.

Contact - By exchanging hairs with anyone, she can easily contact them, regardless of location. It works somewhat like a walkie-talkie as long as the hair remains embedded within their body, usually within the fingernails. It's more efficient than portable transmitters since it doesn't need a signal and works even underwater. Currently, she has only done this with Rin.

Trivia:
  • The nature of Rin and Izumi's contract is rather different from among the other Sins and Virtues. Instead of blood or spiritual energy, their contract deals with knowledge and resources. Izumi gets the magic and physical enhancement while Rin acquires the knowledge about the world as seen through Izumi's eyes. This is also why Izumi didn't really get too much of an enhancement as compared to other catalysts.
  • Her reasons for wearing her uniform most of the time is that some have taught her that being in uniform makes her seem more innocent and trustworthy.
  • She hides in the cost of the guns within the maintenance cost of their condominium.
  • The reason why she chose this type of contract is because she wasn't too comfortable with the idea of her soul getting sucked. And she's afraid of getting her skin pierced by any foreign object in order to draw blood. In short, she's squeamish.
  • Her face claim is Nio Hashiri from Akuma no Riddle

So begins...

"Well, there is a church located in one of the exclusive compounds...but, I think it's not really deserted. This isn't really a Christian city so, places of worship are rare. And, I won't really be of much help in looking around since I won't be able to fight anyway in case Circus attacks. You'll really be better off asking Rin but, she's disappeared somewhere again...", Izumi sighed.

The waitor then brought both Kyo and Hikari's drinks out, Kyo took a sip from his coffee cup and then replied, "It's okay, you just need to give me an address or something and I'll find it."

Suddenly, Kyo heard a girl was yelling at a waitor. Izumi then stood up and went to make compromise. Kyo shook his head and then continued to enjoy his drink. "It's still early in the morning and people has began to fuss", Hikari sighed as he drinks through a straw, "I don't think if I can handle such madness everyday."

"If you call this is madness, then this is nothing compared to the madness in this world, Hikari", Kyo giggled, "because you don't have to been through any of the wars yet so you can't feel it. But that's okay, it's nothing pleasant really."

"So, how was it then?", Hikari turned his head to Kyo.

"They were the moments that we have to kill to survive. We have to stained our own hands with the blood of our enemies to be able to live through that madness. It wasn't something that you can fully understand just by hearing, you have to experienced it by yourselves to live the whole story", Kyo said as he looked up to the ceiling while remember back to the previous wars that he has seen, "it is us alone fighting against another two enemies to survive. All we ever wanted is to bring peace into this world, but to achieve that goal, we have to pay a bitter price - it is to watched our companions to sacrifice but we can't do anything about it..."

"I see...", Hikari turned down his head and said. For once, he doesn't know what to say, he has never experienced anything like it in his life.

"Well, sorry for dragging your mood down", Kyo smiled and cheered Hikari up, "even if we have to fight, it doesn't mean that we can't enjoy our lives? You'll see."

Kyo said as he took a sip from his cup, waiting for Izumi to dealt with the problem in her shop so that they can get on their way soon. But suddenly, a feeling washed through his mind. He turned his head and looked around the shop. "What's happened?", Hikari asked.

"Another Entity has entered this shop. My feeling is often correct, but I hope that this time it is wrong", Kyo said as frowned while trying to find the source of the aura. "So finally, you've decided to show up, Sinner's Circus?", he said to himself.

"No, celebrities are rumored to have a lot of doubles when they walk around, in order to avoid attention. I was thinking maybe, she is around here somewhere." Rin tried to draw out the conversation more as most of the people started clearing off. There was no mistake about it. This girl is a member of Circus. Soon, the lines were reduced to just a few people long.
"Oh and by the way, nice scissors you have there..." Rin finally spoke up, revealing her true intention.

As he approached the counter, Nozomi felt the presence of another Entity in the shop. Actually, he was sensing one Entity and two Catalysts. The single Entity's aura though, was very overpowering.
"This damn feeling...there is no doubt this is a Synchro member. Still, I think you're too rash, coming out into the open. Well, no matter. The amount of people will also prevent you from making any drastic moves while I--"
"Excuse me?" The clerk asked him if he was ready to order, interrupting his thoughts.
"Oh--I'll have--well, this and another frappe, I guess." Nozomi pointed to the drink encircled by Fumina on the brochure. After computing, the girl informed him of the cost.
"Huh? I already paid Miss."
"Sir, I don't think you--" The girl was suddenly fixated on Nozomi's eyes, which were making her uneasy. With his back turned to the other people, they couldn't exactly see what was going on. "A-ah! Is that so? Hmm...okay sir, we'll just call you if your order is ready. Your number is number 45. Please take a seat first."
"Thank you." Nozomi grinned as he took his seat. Taking out the cash Fumina gave him, he proceeded to pocket it for himself. "Who needs cash when you have hypnosis? I'll just take it for myself, as payment for making me walk around town in this heat." His eyes scanned the place as he tried to see who among the people was the powerful aura he was detecting.

"Really? So that means...", Hikari asked. He just became a Child yesterday and today he already has to face with an Entity. How cool is that? He haven't even knows what he is capable of just yet.

"Yeah, they've decided to act", Kyo said while trying to concentrate in finding whoever might be a Circus member in the shop. He don't know if Izumi notices this or not, but if he can identify which Sin is it, he can decided whether it is better to retreat or not.

Kyo is well-awared that the Entity who entered the shop must have felt Kyo's aura too. And this person is definitely from the Circus. He hold his coffee cup and pretended like he was drinking it to make him as normal he could while rolling his eyes around to see if there are anyone suspicious.

"I've never met any Circus members with an aura like this, and it means that this Entity must've never showed themselves before", Kyo thought as he raised an eyebrow when he has identified the aura, "if that so, then this Entity must be Sloth, there's no doubt about it. But who can it be?", Kyo thought as he concentrated in finding, until he set his eyes to a boy who was sitting on a table near the counter, who was radiating the aura.

Kyo smirks, "Found ya." He secretly pulled out the flute which he hid under his sleeve.

"Hikari, can you hear me?", Kyo commute with his Child through their minds, " just be as normal as you could for now. But if the other Entity attempts to do something, I want you to plug your ears, okay?"

Hikari was pretty surprised when he heard Kyo's voice inside his head, but then he nodded to his Entity. He took a sip from his glass and tried to looked at another direction.

"Man, that was such a good swim", Miruka stretched his arms and said to himself gleefully after his swim in the city's pool. It has been a while since he enjoying himself like that, "it felt good to breathe the outside air after staying undercover such long time."

Miruka humming as he walked on the street while thinking of a way to find his fellow Virtues, "It's been a long time, I can't wait to see Kyo-chin again", he giggled, "but first, I need to stop by the mall and get some stuffs."

He walked through some streets and then stopped at the mall. But when he stepped inside, the feeling that he hasn't felt for a long time washed through his minds, and it intrigues him more than ever. This could only mean one thing - the Sin that countered him is here. Miruka frowns, "Not just her, there's another Entity here, though this one might be from the Synchro", he thought and sighed, "just getting out of my retreat and I already meet problems."

A few moments later, he saw that a girl was running and he quickly realized her. "Serpent...", Miruka raised an eyebrow, he knows it wouldn't be a good idea to show up now, "they're focusing on each other so I guess that they don't know that I'm here, better staying low for now", he thought as he hid behind a pillar near there.

Upon receiving his order, Nozomi got up and left the shop. With the concentration of people around, it would be hard to use his power without causing too much of a commotion. He was able to pinpoint which among the people there were Synchronicity members.
"And I thought there would be more difficulties. My psychokinetic mind can intercept any form of psychic communication, thanks to telepathy. He commanded his catalyst to plug his ears--if so, his power may have something to do with any form of hearing capability. If that's the case..." Nozomi took out his earphones and played some music on his mp3 player as he walked, converging with the other people in the street.
"Still, I haven't flexed my powers in a long while so unless I can call in some sort of backup, I'm not gonna test these waters just yet." Nozomi thought as he cut in an alley to avoid the scorching sun, beaming on the street.

Elsewhere...

"Hey, look over there. It's Hibiki."

Rin was temporarily addled by those words. Sharp reflexes can prove to be a small disadvantage when your mind automatically reacts to various stimuli. When her eyes once again fixed themselves on the girl, she had turned to run away.
"Ara? And I thought she was more--never mind..." Rin muttered as she ran swiftly to chase her target. She whispered to Priam to show her the possible destination of the girl, given her present trajectory.
"At this rate, she'll head onto a current, Indie-band performance in the reception hall. You can get there faster if you go through the second floor as there are less people. Jump down from the pillar on the Eastern Side of the stage. You can do it, can you?"
"Please, any Sacred Drive member can do that much at least." Rin followed through Priam's orders. Heading up the second floor, it was exactly as he said: Almost no people.
"Leave it to Priam to map out this entire building. Good, now--" Rin bent her legs a bit, focusing some of her energy onto her legs, creating some sort of eerie, blue glow. Her Active Cloaking used to hide her weapons were dispelled but this re-directed energy propelled her forward, saving more time in running. Glancing down, she waited for the girl to pass by. When she did, she dropped jumped down, spiraling from the pillar and landing on the girl's back, whom she pinned to the ground.
"Got you." She whispered to the girl as she held down one hand. They were right behind the stage, with no witnesses and no bystanders. It was a nice stage set-up for them.

Izumi could swear that she detected some sort of aura around the place. It wasn't Kyo's nor was it his Catalyst's. It was entirely different. Way different to what she has been used to sensing.
"Well now, here, I've jotted down the address of the church I was talking about." Izumi handed Kyo a table napkin with the address of a church. "Call anytime you need something. But first, excuse me for a moment--" Izumi then headed around back, near the storage room where she usually keeps all of her items. Taking out her laptop, she opened up the records Rin shared with her.
"That aura was something different. It surely wasn't the same as any enemy we've encountered before..." She booted up the signal graphs; a sensing device that Izumi had installed on her laptop to keep track of any signals their opponents omit. It updates itself daily so, she was sure that it would've contained something by now.

"So far, Rin has fought most of the Circus members. The First Wrath, the Second Lust and Gluttony. Rumors abound that Pride and Greed are very powerful, acting like some sort of aristocrats among the Circus members. We have yet to face them but this new signal--it's not matching up to anything else in this directory." Izumi checked the matching results. Even if the intensity of the power is different, frequencies and wavelengths remain constant for every incarnation of a particular entity.
"It's not matching up to any of the Synchronicity members' wavelengths either. I have heard talk of a seventh member of Circus. Don't tell me--it's him? Regarding the intensity of his power, his signal is almost on par with---" Izumi's eyes widened when the results came up. "The First Wrath, Akito!" Thinking back, she remembered Rin's description of him, and what she felt during that day...

Flashback...

"Akito, classified under Sacred Drive's list as an S-rank, high priority target. He's a very formidable opponent. Several of our operatives have fallen prey to him. I nearly died fighting him. When I came to, he was said to be already dead..." Rin and Izumi were talking at the same coffee shop as the one they were in. It was nearly past midnight and the shop had closed, leaving them in total privacy.
"You seem to be hesitant to talk about him. Is he really that powerful? What was he like?" Izumi asked. Rin sipped her coffee to calm the nerves before carrying on.
"His power deals with electricity, which is plenty in this city, thanks to the presence of the Hayashibara Power Plants. Even without them though, he can generate his own, using a device embedded in his body frame. But it's not that. It's his mind that's the most disturbing. He has vast knowledge, common sense and possesses a way of thinking different from us normal humans. He cannot be persuaded by a mere presentation of morals and such. Once his eyes are set on a goal, he will stop at nothing to get it."
"Was he the one who--?"
"Yes. He was the one who funded that mercenary group that attacked my school. You could say that it was thanks to him that I became an Entity. But, as for myself, I don't really think of him that fondly."
"Really?"
"When I fought him the first time, it felt like--it felt like I was staring the devil straight in the face. I felt like I was locked in death's cold embrace. Heh, even until now, three years later, my hand still won't stop shaking."

Flashback end...

"To think that someone out there exists, who can rival Akito's, the Circus member with the most firepower, aura... Just how strong is the enemy that we're facing?" Izumi suddenly felt some sort of gap in her heart, as she remembered her Entity. She felt sorry for all that she had to go through.

"Rin..."

Kyo watched on as the boy carried his drinks and got out from the shop, the feeling also disappeared with him as he went out. Kyo smirked, "The fish went straight into the net. I don't want to put myself over the top or anything, but you must remember that I'm the Virtue that counter your leader, my dear. Still, I never want to fight you though. Wise decision", he thought.

With that, Kyo leaned on his back. Hikari blinked and turned to him, "He left... So what exactly are you going to do with that flute if he was going to attack then?"

"This thing?", Kyo said as he hold his flute and shrugged, "I wasn't going to do anything. Just wanted to scare him off a bit."

"So that means, you know at first that he can guess what you're thinking?", Hikari asked.

"Yep, that's one of my privileges, Hikari. I will explain to you later when we're on our way to the church", Kyo said and gave a wide grin.

A moments later, Izumi went to Kyo and Hikari. On the look on her face, Kyo can guess that she has already know that Sloth has come here. "Well now, here, I've jotted down the address of the church I was talking about. Call anytime you need something. But first, excuse me for a moment--", Izumi gave Kyo a table napkin with the address of a church.

"Thanks, Izumi-san", Kyo smiled. With that, Izumi went somewhere behind the shop. Kyo called for the waiter to pay for their drinks. After that, he stood up, "Come Hikari, let's go."

"But shouldn't we wait for Izumi?", Hikari asked.

"We can comeback and tell her later", Hikari said as they both got out of the shop, "first, let's get to the ground yesterday first."

"What for?", Hikari questioned.

"You'll see", Kyo grinned.

After they traveled through some streets, they got to the deserted ground yesterday. "So, what exactly are we going to do here?", Hikari looked around and said. Somethings tell him that his Entity is up to something.

Kyo gave Hikari a mischivious smile and then walked further from his Child, then he turned to face him. Suddenly, Kyo raised his arm towards Hikari's direction. The boy still didn't understand what was going on. Kyo then shot a beam of light towards his Child. Hikari was so surprised because of that, but he managed to dodge by the skin of his teeth.

"What the hell are you doing?!", Hikari yelled at his Entity. He is well-aware that because Kyo was one of the main Virtues so his power is no joke. He didn't know what would happened if he got hit.

"Well, what do you think? Don't worry, it won't kill you", Kyo grinned as he continued to shot his beams towards Hikari. The boy still trying to dodge. The beams that missed Hikari shot onto the ground and created craters. They continued like that for quite some while, until Kyo felt that his catalyst is starting to tire.

"Kyo! That wasn't funny!", Hikari yelled. "Fine, fine, I'll let you take a break", he then stopped and said to his catalyst, still with his mischivious look. "Listen, if you want to enable your power, you have to clear your mind and take up your courage to face your opponents. Do not scare and don't show any signs of hestitation. Let the power that I gave you flows through your body and thrash it out. Now, let's do it again."

"What exactly do you mean-", Hikari asked, but before he could sink in every words that his Entity said, Kyo has already carried out another surprise attack. With the flexibility of a basketball player, he can still easily dodge the beams, though he knows that Kyo didn't take it seriously even in the slightest. As he dodge, he remembered what Kyo just said earlier and stopped avoiding.

Kyo smiled, "You got it. Now show me", he thought as he shot out another beam at his catalyst. This time, Hikari didn't try to avoid, but instead, he closed his eyes as he felt the power flowing through him. When he felt that the beam was closed to him, he hold his right arm to the light. He closed his eyes shut for a few moments, but it didn't felt like he was being hit. When he reopened his eyes, he was surprised to see that a barrier was surrounded around him, shielding him from the light. "Wow...", Hikari said.

"Well done", Kyo stopped and walked to his Child. Hikari then lowered the barrier, "This is cool", he thought while feeling so proud of himself. When his Entity got to him, he punched Kyo in his arm. "Never do that again", Hikari said with a grumpy voice. Kyo giggled and patted his Child's head.

"Just a little warm up for today, you still have to practice if you want to master it but it was really a good start", Kyo said, "so how do you feel?"

"I feel... alive", Hikari looked as his palms, "it felt like it has been sleeping inside me all the time."

"Yeah, and now you got it", Kyo smiled, "from now on, you'll be the shield that protect us all from the enemy. Remember that, okay?"

"That's sound like one hell of a big duty", Hikari laughed, "but no hard feeling. I'm ready to face whatever challenges in front of us."

"It's good that you can think that. Now let's go, we've got jobs to do", Kyo said. Hikari nodded then the both of them make their ways to the church.

Miruka stood behind the pillar as he watched the white-hair girl was chasing after Serpent, she jumped down from the pillar to the Eastern side of the stage of the band who was performing there as people are began to cleared. As Serpent ran just behind the stage, the girl has pinned her down before she could makes any more moves.

The stage there was pretty close to where Miruka was standing, he still laying low while trying not to radiating too much aura. When the girl jumped, Miruka was able to glance at her before she landed behind the stage. "She's an Entity, no doubts. But why is she wearing the military uniform from the Sacred Drive?", he raised an eyebrom and thought, "but it doesn't matter, I should be back up in case something happened. Serpent isn't going to be an easy opponent."

With that, he took his katana from his backpack and using his enhancement on the sword. The sword then glowed the green-ish aura. Miruka stood still while holding the katana firmly, hoping that everything will be okay.

On the outskirts of town, an old power plant stood, having seen the extreme ravages of time. As the city evolved and industry boomed, this old remnant will now serve as a reminder of how things used to be in the past. How even if man finds himself at the brink of destruction, he always finds a way to save himself...

Hayashibara Power Plant - Abandoned
Leona strolled through this old and creaky power plant. This used to be the city's main generator, until the introduction of the plants funded by Kodachi Enterprises and North-West Electrical. It also served as a memorial--a memorial of that day, the day she killed the First Wrath, Akito.
"How long has it been? My guess is that it had already been three years since then. If you had lived, you may just have made a fine electrical engineer." Leona chuckled as she talked to a rusted arrow, impaled on the platform. It was the exact spot where Akito drew his last breath as he died by her hands.
"Strange is it? Despite our conflicting natures and interests, we are very much alike. We are both Sacred Drive's Most Wanted anyway. Heh, funny how things just add up and cancel each other out in the end." Leona suddenly remembered meeting Rin again a night ago. She smiled at the thought. After all, if it wasn't for Rin and her first Catalyst, she never would've gotten this window of opportunity.
"The girl Rin is doing fine. She's grown up to become much more capable now. I guess, you didn't expect her to last long didn't you? Unfortunately for you, she's also a fighter. Like us." Leona continued talking, acting as if Akito was just sitting across her, grin on his face. Suddenly, she felt Rion's presence leave their territory.
"Oh come on, Child? Where did you go now?"

"All right, all right, I know. How did you catch me?" The girl asked. Rin suddenly remembered about this girl's title among the Circus members: Serpent.
"Because I'm a cat. Nyaow..." Rin played along with the girl's statement, striking a pose similar to a cat, her hand curled into a paw. She swiped at the girl's face as she uttered the "Nyaow" sound. Taking out a string, she tied both of the girl's hands together, in an effort to apprehend her.

As Nozomi navigated through the alleyways, he suddenly received a telepathic call from Fumina. His mind was secured so he wasn't too worried about anyone peeping in his thoughts. Besides, if it came from Fumina, there is no doubt that it's everything but important and confidential.
"Yahoo? Got what I asked?"
"Yeah, and that's not it. It seems that coffee shop is under Diligence's control."
"Diligence? Your counterpart?"
"Yes. He wasn't there though. I did detect a strong presence along with two more auras belonging to Catalysts I guess. This one is strong. Only Akito and Alistair have ever radiated this kind of aura before."
"Hmmm... Why do I get the feeling that it's not just the drinks you took?"
"Heh, while I was busy keeping that other presence and his Catalyst occupied, one of my familiars managed to slip through. What can I say, the base is formidable. Three floors high, with two more heading into the basement. The first to second floors are used for business purposes. The third serves as their rest quarters, complete with fields and conventional traps. A spellcaster's nightmare. The basement first floor holds some light vehicles and I wasn't able to penetrate the rooms nor the second basement level."
"Well that's--great. Do you think-- we should tell Alistair about it?"
"No."
"E-eh? Why?"
"If we do, he'll annihilate it in seconds. The truth is-- I haven't had coffee this good for a while. I don't want to waste such a fine establishment."
Back at their house, Fumina smiled at the thought. Her Master was capable of being compassionate and understanding--even if he does nothing but lie around all day and bark orders.
"Heehee! Well then, I'll see you back home. Thanks Nozomi-sama!"
With Fumina off his mind, quiet once again descended upon Nozomi. As he was about to exit though, a girl suddenly bumped him. He caught her and helped her up but as soon as she looked up at him, a strange feeling struck his whole body.
"This girl is---this girl is---Yuria?" How can he forget her? She was his most hardest endeavor--and his biggest regret. During the time his mind was in disarray, trying to make sense of things, the girl was apologizing. He can no longer hear it though. Once he did, he suddenly found his senses again.
"No, it's nothing--" He looked at her again. She bears some similarities yes, but, she was different enough. For one, she didn't have the same shade of eyes as Yuria.
"Are you all right? You don't seem to be feeling well..."

Miruka looked around, trying to sensed if Serpent is still around. The band's performance on the stage has finished. After he has searched for a while around the ground, he couldn't find any traces of his counterpart. Her tunnels had completely disappeared. He sighed while put his katana into its cover and put it back to his backpack, "Almost got her. No doubts she's going to report this to their leader."

"Three questions. First, who are you? Next, are you involved with that girl somehow? And last, why are you here? Depending on your answers, I might just have to fire, even if you are a Synchronicity member. So make sure you choose the right ones", the Entity girl said cautiously while aiming her gun at Miruka.

He turned his back and facing with her, glancing at her a moment, though he still keeping his calm posture. "So what I heard was true...", Miruka thought. Even though he was staying undercover, he still get in touch with Kyo to know what the situation is between both sides. So he pretty knows that some members on his side are having some sorts of conflict, which explains why the Entity who's standing in front of him right now is still beware of him even though they're allies. Miruka understood that from what he has seen from the wars.

"Woah woah wait, there's no needs of violence here", Miruka grinned while waved his hands to the girl. He has no intentions to fight anyone if it wasn't necessary, "You're asking too many questions at once, but still, I'm willing to answer them, just stop aiming at me as if I'm a criminal like that, kay?"

Then he straighthen himself up and answered, still with his gentle smile, "My name is Miruka, and you'd probably realized that I'm also an Entity, like you. I am Kindness. Nice to meet you", he then gave a bow to her, "and the reason why I'm here, well, I'm just passing by to get some stuffs that I needed, I've been staying undercover for quite sometimes and this is my first day out of my retreat in a long while. And as you know, the Serpent girl earlier was Envy and she's my counterpart. I was planning to take her down when I saw her but you've already taken care of her so I think it was for the best not to interrupt you, I have no idea that I'd encounter Serpent here."

Miruka then shrugged, "Too bad she got away though. Well, I think that's enough for an introduction. And you, young lady?", Miruka asked, hoping that he would gained her trust.

"Kyo, what is that?", Hikari went to his Entity and saw the figure was withered into dust.

"It's my sister's catalyst", Kyo said, "if he has decided to act, then it means troubles. Come, let's return to Izumi first then we'll figure out a way to counter them soon."

Hikari nodded and both of them made their ways back to Izumi coffee shop, the scorching sunshines had soften a bit. On his way, Kyo took out his phone and sent a text message to Miruka, "Miru-kun, have you got out from your undercover yet? Come and meet me at this coffee shop as soon as you received my message. Here's the address", Kyo typed out Izumi's address and sent the message.

Hikari saw that and turned to Kyo, "Hey, who did you text to?"

"An old friend", Kyo grinned, "You'll meet him soon. He's also an atheletic person like you so I think you both will get along."

"Wow, really? Then he must be really tall and buff", Hikari grinned gleefully. Ever since yesterday, it seems that anyone he met in their group was ridiculously attractive. "Is being an Entity and a catalyst also gave people the ability to have good looks?", he playfully thought. Still, he's still looking forward to meet new companions.

When they've reached Izumi shop, they entered the shop, the crowd now is lesser. "Hey Izumi-san, we're back", Kyo smiled and greeted her, then both Kyo and Hikari sat down, "okay, I've found out that Alistair, my sister's catalyst has decided to act. So now, we should find a way to counter against the Circus and be ready to face them at all time. Call Rin, when she's back then we can discuss about this together. I've also contact one of the Synchronicity's member who was staying undercover and he should be here soon."

Having heard the introductions of the Entity Kindness, Rin thought for a moment on what her reply should be. Though, she didn't really care too much about the Entity Envy being his counterpart. This is a war. There are no rivalries. Between each of them. He seems like a nice guy though. Nice enough to be trusted. But, as the Entity Patience said, there is no true distinction between good and evil for them.
"Right, just because we're from Synchronicity and they're from the other side of the fence, doesn't make us any less evil if we've involved civilians among our body count. Come on Rin, what would your predecessors do?" Rin tried to think of what to reply. As the Third Diligence, she doesn't know how her predecessors lived--hell, she haven't even met them personally. From the hidden room in his headquarters, Priam watched, anticipating how this would play out.

"When you feel lost about yourself, just remember that even if the whole world loses faith in you, I wouldn't. I trust your judgement. I trust whatever calls you choose to make."

"Aokigahara... You'll always have my back right? You trust my decision right? Then, to properly bring this to an end, I have made my decision." She lowered her firearm and steeled her resolve. Facing the Entity in front of her, she finally introduced herself.

"Alright Kindness... I am the Entity Diligence, and Ex-member of Synchronicity. My name is Rin. Rin Nakahara of the private armed organization Sacred Drive!" This is it. There was no turning back for her. She's already gone past the point of no return. "Unlike the Entity Envy, you didn't seem to have caused any trouble so I'll let you leave this place in peace. In accordance with the directives of Sacred Drive, we will not attack Entities unless they fire first."

Taking out the 686, she readied both firearms without pointing them at the boy. "Though if you wish to cross swords with me right now, I would be very welcome to accommodate you. So, will you choose to fight here? Or will you leave quietly?" Rin glared with a new fierceness in her eyes. From his room, Priam smirked at the turn of events.

"So you've decided to come back huh? Well then, I think an update is in order--" He booted up a database on his laptop, showing the list of the members of ALIAS, Sacred Drive's main assault division.

As of 1500 hours, ALIAS Operative #067 has returned.

"Rin..." Thanks to their telephatic link, Izumi managed to catch wind of everything. The appearance of the Entities Kindness and Envy, and Rin's decision to return to Sacred Drive. "So--is this where everything ends for us? Our partnership? Our friendship?" Izumi tried her best to hold back her tears. It is not healthy. Besides, Rin isn't the type of person who'll shoot her friends...even if they're already enemies. Smiling to herself, Izumi got up from the back room as she saw Kyo and Hikari return through the cameras. "Well, I'm still your Catalyst Rin. I'm with you through thick and thin."

"Okay, I've found out that Alistair, my sister's catalyst has decided to act. So now, we should find a way to counter against the Circus and be ready to face them at all time. Call Rin, when she's back then we can discuss about this together. I've also contact one of the Synchronicity's member who was staying undercover and he should be here soon."

She couldn't even focus on the other details that Kyo was divulging. All she could focus on was her current situation with her Entity. "Ahhh... I guess you seem to have a plan in order except for one small problem." Once she thinks she got their attention, Izumi continued. "Rin--won't be coming back to Synchronicity. She's already decided to return to Sacred Drive, her old group. And as her Catalyst, I can't abandon her. As her friend, I don't really want to. In the worst case scenario, we'll all end up fighting each other. Hehe...who would've thought things would turn out this way eh?" Izumi finally confessed everything, flashing the two a very sad smile.

As Nozomi reached a part where the sun doesn't seem to shine through the tall, decrepit buildings of downtown Friergate, he felt a presence following him. A soft, rustling of leaves, moving along with the wind gently. Turning around, he caught sight of a familiar figure. A lovely woman, dressed in simple and modest garb.
"Good afternoon Patience-san. Or do you prefer Leona?" Nozomi greeted sarcastically, the hostility in his tone apparent. They had met and crossed swords with each other, almost ten years ago.
"You haven't changed at all Nozomi. Heh, it is a fine afternoon for me, unlike yours, as far as I can tell." Leona smirked as she confronted the unknown Circus member. Nozomi tried to use his telepathy but was unsuccessful. "You can give up on it. You can only use that power to intercept telepathic communication. You can't use it to read minds."
"I know. Just making sure. So, what are you here for? As far as I know, I've always cleaned up after my mess." Nozomi talked back, not minding the obvious age difference between them. Leona walked closer to him and casually stroked his cheek.
"Nozomi Kannagi. The Entity of Sloth. The personification of missed opportunities, apathy and indifference. I have a deal I want to make with you."
"Too bad, you've got nothing on me. First, unlike other Sins, I don't kill. Next, even if you were to threaten me, I could easily fight back. Third, if you were the one to fire first, you're the one who's in the morally wrong by attacking a bystander."
"Heh, witty as always. No need to be so tense, this is simply a proposal. I want you to infiltrate Sacred Drive's headquarters at the Hyatt Building. Hack into it and erase any existing records of me. In exchange, I'll keep your existence a secret. Unlike me, there are others who would kill you on the spot without a second thought just because you're a Circus member."
"No. This personal vendetta has nothing to do with me. Clean up your own mess." Nozomi retorted back, keeping all of his emotions in check.
*Sigh...* "I knew this would be a difficult negotiation. Good thing I've made a small detour on the way back." Leona took out her phone and showed him a picture of Fumina, all tied up and unconscious.
"Fumina!"
"Oh? Is that anger I hear in your voice Nozomi? I might have found a weakness to that ice-cold heart of yours. This girl seems precious I see."
"Damn woman!" As soon as he flared up, cracks suddenly appeared on the ground. Leona merely chuckled and stroked his hair.
"Hehe, I don't need a reply right now. As you can tell, I'm very patient. You still have my number so just call me if you've made up your mind. Although...I may just use your little doll as a means of entertainment..." With that said, Leona left, leaving Nozomi alone in his anger.
"DAMN IT!!!"

Miruka stood while expecting some sorts of answer from the Entity girl. However, it seems that something is stirring inside her, Miruka can felt it. He is well-aware that anything can happens and there isn't anyone that you can't trust, unless you know that person as if you know yourself. After all, besides Kyo and Patience, he's also seen through the wars. For now, he has already let loose. He knows very well that even if he was attacked, then he can still be able to counter easily. But like usual, fighting isn't his first option.

The girl lowered her arm and introduced herself to Miruka, "Alright Kindness... I am the Entity Diligence, and Ex-member of Synchronicity. My name is Rin. Rin Nakahara of the private armed organization Sacred Drive!", Miruka can see clearly the seriousness in every words that Rin said. He widen his eyes in surprise, but still, he kept his calm posture as if it was nothing. He has seen many things throughout the wars and changing sides in a heart beat like that is one of them.

"Unlike the Entity Envy, you didn't seem to have caused any trouble so I'll let you leave this place in peace. In accordance with the directives of Sacred Drive, we will not attack Entities unless they fire first", the girl said. A new total serious look has appeared in her eyes, "Though if you wish to cross swords with me right now, I would be very welcome to accommodate you. So, will you choose to fight here? Or will you leave quietly?"

Miruka sighed after hearing what the girl have just said. Without a second thought, he knows that he will just leave here without causing anymore troubles, although he is well-aware that he won't lose that easily. He then turned his head and looked on at the girl's look. "Kyo was right, she's very determined and have her own strenght, though I can clearly see her naivety, and that is what will pull her behind", Miruka thought, "but I know that she can still grow up. Hoping that one day, we can be united."

Miruka then gave a gentle smile, "Well, I can already guessed that you're a part of the Sacred Drive according to the uniform that you're wearing. And I hope that you won't regret the desicion that you've made. From the first start, I don't have any intentions to fight you. Fighting to me is pointless and it is the option that I will choose only when I feel that I needed to."

He paused for a bit, and then continued, "I don't want to fight anyone, especially if they're on my side, or at least used to. Well, I think this is it. I wish you'll be happy even if you don't have any chances to turn back now. But for now, remember my word: Everything is not what it seemed, even if you think that what you're running after is what you want, just look back and see for yourself if that's really what you needed. That's what I wanted to said as an Entity that has seen through the wars."

With that, he turned his back and slowly walked to the entrance, "Hoping that we won't have to facing each other on the battlefield, Nakahara-san", Miruka said as he waved to her from his back.

When he left the mall and walking on the street, he thinks back to the earlier encounter, "After all, we still can't be united?", he sighed, "but no matter what, my belief will never changed. Please continue to guide me, father."

Suddenly, Miruka received a message. He took out his phone and read it. It was from Kyo. "Well, maybe today couldn't get any worse", he smiled and then headed to the address that his friend has sent.

Kyo and Hikari are still sitting in front of Izumi, though Kyo can see that her expression have changed. "What's happened?", Hikari asked.

"Rin--won't be coming back to Synchronicity. She's already decided to return to Sacred Drive, her old group. And as her Catalyst, I can't abandon her. As her friend, I don't really want to. In the worst case scenario, we'll all end up fighting each other. Hehe...who would've thought things would turn out this way eh?", Izumi said to them with a sad smile.

"What?", Hikari surprised, "how could she turned her head against us? And you, if you don't want to, then why can't you just break the contract-"

"Hikari", Kyo spoke up and interrupted before Hikari could speak any more words, "don't worry, everything will worked out", he smiled to his Child. Then he turned to Izumi, "Look, because Rin didn't become an Entity as the same time as I did so I don't truly understand her. She's still young but it is good that she can be determined like that. I won't judge her decisions and I respect the path that she has chosen."

Kyo then stood up, he is still calm like a wind as ever, "Well, I guess that we can't get to see each other again", he still smiled gently to her, "but remember that it is never too late to look back. Come, Hikari."

The boy kept silent because he just didn't know what to say. When he heard Kyo, he nodded and stood up, "It was nice knowing you, Izumi-san", Hikari gave her a smile and then went out of the shop with his Entity and both of them get into the crowd on the street.

"So, what now?", Hikari asked, "Even though you're the strong, you can't just facing the Circus all by yourself."

"There will always be a way, Hikari", Kyo smiled, "and I won't be alone. Trust me."

While they were walking, they came across with the most unexpected person. "Leona?", Kyo stopped as he encounter the woman who has also seen through the wars with him, "Well, I didn't expect to see you here. Care for a drink somewhere? There's something that I need to talk and I assumed that you did too", Kyo paused for a moment, "And first, sorry for what I said yesterday. Just trust me, we grown up pretty much alike together, so no one really know you more than I did."

Izumi watched as the two left her shop. Sighing to herself, she wondered what it was that spurred Rin to suddenly change her mind. Breaking the contract isn't an option for her and she doesn't really want to. Rin was still her friend, and friends stay true to each other. Besides, all they've got is each other.
"Yo Rin! I just want to ask: Why did you suddenly choose to return to Sacred Drive? Don't you like working with the other members of your group?" Izumi contacted Rin through their shared contract. She managed to get a reply earlier than expected.
"It's not as if I don't like any of them in the group. For a long time, Sacred Drive has ceased all activity. Sorry, everything's just too much to take in all at once. The sudden reappearance of Circus, the arrival of new Entities, Aokigahara's death. All of them seems connected somehow. Who knows? Maybe by staying with this group, I'll be able to find out more. Izumi, if you want to stay with the others, it's perfectly fine with me. I'll just look for--"
"A-ah! No, as I've said, I'm with you through thick and thin. I consider you as a sister now. And we stick out our neck for each other."
"Izumi--fine then. You know the shopping district I'm at right now? Meet me there. From now on, this will be our main base of operations."
"Gotcha!" Izumi broke off contact after that. She went to the back and gathered her stuff including the Spectre and the knives. Taking care not to leave her license, she jumped inside her car and drove off, to rendezvous with her Entity.

"May I ask what made you want to return at this point in time?" Priam asked through Rin's phone. It has been two hours since the Entity Kindness left the premises. Rin merely sat on one of the hidden benches, contemplating on the decision.
"Because I want to see for myself. How this war between non-humans is affecting normal humans. Besides, unlike the other members, I'm mostly still human." Rin simply answered smugly. "Although, if I determine that you are also causing problems, I won't hesitate to destroy you as well." Priam simply laughed at the statement.
"And how can we cause any more trouble? Most of ALIAS is retired, the organization is scattered. As it stands right now, you're the only active member we can command. You'll face both sides alone."
"Only if they fire first, as per the original intentions to establish this group." Priam stood up from his seat and walked closer to the large display on his monitor.
"We established the organization as a means to shelter and provide aid to people affected by the Synchro-Circus war. We were content with giving out relief at first but soon, one of the members of Circus started carrying out operations that can alter our own greatly. That member was, for a time, was our most wanted target: The First Wrath, Akito. Then there was Leona Rain Vincent, from Synchronicity. She wasn't attacking us head on but, she won't hesitate to include civilian body counts if it hinders her mission. That's why we also chose to retaliate. Show those Entities that there is still a fight left in us humans." Priam observed how Rin was still vigilant of her surroundings. "No need to be so tense. This is a densely populated mall. With the exception of Akito, no Entity in their right mind would choose to reveal themselves here."
"I'm not waiting for someone to fight. I'm waiting for the arrival of my Catalyst."

"So--you really did it?" Fumina asks her captor, Leona through the phone. She was playing on a separate phone while talking with another.
"Yes but, it wasn't easy. Oh! I win again." Leona remarked as she finished her round with Fumina. Fumina simply sighed and laid back on the soft carpeted floor. "Still, you're quite a sly fox, tricking your Master like that. You even made use of our abilities."
"Well, it's been a while since Master did anything with his time. Besides, Sacred Drive may cause additional trouble later on. I want to make sure nothing bothers us while we are still setting up. This is advantageous to you as well right?"
"Alright, then we'll both hold our ends of the bargain. See you." Leona put the phone down. This is the first time that she was asked to cooperate with an enemy. Still, Nozomi and Fumina aren't really the types to cause a lot of trouble. If anything, their inaction is the trait that troubles most of the other members.
Walking along the streets, she bumped into Kyo, the so-called leader of Synchronicity. Not to her though. No, to her, he was just another cog in the machine like them.
"Leona? Well, I didn't expect to see you here. Care for a drink somewhere? There's something that I need to talk and I assumed that you did too--And first, sorry for what I said yesterday. Just trust me, we grown up pretty much alike together, so no one really know you more than I did."
Ugh, Leona always hated when people assume they "know" her by experiencing some of the things she did. Still, he wasn't being a jerk so, she decided to give him a little chance to know her better.
"Alright, why don't we talk at the bar over there?" Leona replied, pointing to a nearby bar across the road. Once they were inside, she ordered herself a shot of vodka. "Now then, what do you want to talk about? If it's about the incident last night, just forget about it."

As Servant soon drifted off to sleep, her head resting peacefully on her Master's shoulders, Nozomi's consciousness was made aware of the sudden arrival of an owl familiar. It had a recording in it, a voice he recognizes to be of Alistair, the Circus' leader and patriarch. His eyes dimmed as silver flashes of light engulfed a large diameter around the apartment as he set up a psychic net, to ensure that their conversation remains private.
"Moving the Sky Castle eh? *Sigh* Can't you do it yourselves?" Despite his complaint though, Nozomi still stood up, letting Fumina's head rest on the soft cushion he was sitting at while he walked to a drawer. Taking out a board that looked like the map of the city and a stone, he set it up on the table. With his telekinesis, he allowed the stone to levitate on its own, encircling the city. He left it on an infinite loop, constantly encircling the city. He also set up a field so no one can touch, get or affect the entire setup. Turning to the owl, he spoke again.
"The castle is now in motion. Since I am too lazy to think of the best place to have it rest, I'll leave it up to you. Lionel has the Anchor Key. Once you find your comfortable spot, just tell him to use it. That should stop it." He walked towards the owl and picked it up. Seeing the recorder inside, he realized that Alistair was listening to it in real time. But to be doubly sure, he took out the recorder from the familiar, destroying it in the process. He rationalized that Alistair would probably have done the same, to avoid any tracing. Crafting a familiar of his own, this time, in the shape of a raven, he placed his message there and sent it back to the Sky Castle, landing just in between Serpent and Alistair.

Navigating through the alleys and streets, Leona felt her Child's aura was close by along with--another one. This one wasn't hostile though. This one was from their side. Taking confidence that Rion is in safe hands, Leona thought of exploring the city for a little while longer before going back to pick up her Child. Reaching a part of the streets where vehicles scarcely come around, she saw a particular homeless man. Still, there was an air, an aura emanating from him that told her that there is more than meets the eye to this man. She casually approached him and stood just a few inches away.
"Charity is defined as the act of giving until it starts to hurt you personally isn't it? Simply giving your excess isn't charity, it's justice. Have you already given so much that it's starting to hurt? How many skeletons do you have in your closet now?" Leona spoke up, reaffirming her presence. This man was no new blood like Kyo's Catalyst. This man seemed like a veteran and a fighter like her though she's not sure if they've met in the past or not. It's been too long and her memory was getting a bit hazy.
"I suppose you've already heard of me? If that's the case, do you think you can lead this group on the front lines? Humility doesn't seem too willing to take that role."

Few hours after Rin had met up with Izumi again, Priam had them moved from the shopping district to the security bureau, where the main bulk of ALIAS was once situated. Now, it had been taken over by a private company and used as some sort of firm for distributing capable and well-trained guards to various establishments. Heading underground around five floors deep, Izumi was taken to the training area. Currently, there are no more members to train as they have stopped operations a long time now.
"Wow! This place is big!" Izumi marveled at the large area complete with simulation machines, armaments rack and arena. Priam walked to keep up with her as he provided explanations.
"Indeed. A lot of people who sympathized with the group's ideals allowed us to build this facility. We also have a lot of engineers and scientists working to craft new weapons that will allow us to finally level the ground against Entities."
"So basically--my powers are obsolete now?"
"Heh, we'll find some use for your abilities. Your skill in manipulating information is quite handy. Now wait a moment, Rin's simulation is starting." Priam and Izumi looked at a large monitor where Rin was conducting her training. They were simulating it on the same kind of setup as downtown Friergate, with all the alleys and tight spaces.
Now conducting simulation no. 97. ALIAS Operative #67 Rin Nakahara vs. ALIAS Operative #75 Chloe S. Victoria... Start simulation.
Rin took off first, armed with her Savage and the Beretta and 686. She also had two M-9 bayonets on her this time. Her opponent, a white haired girl who stood no taller than her, was carrying an SG550, two ES Five-SeveNs and two knives. Not wanting her opponent to get the first strike, Rin fired first, shooting a bullet from her Savage. It missed its mark as her opponent closed the distance between them. Also firing a shot, Rin barely dodged the bullet as she nearly bumped into a building's sharp corner. The distraction was enough though. Chloe closed in as Rin tried to fire another one. Swerving to the side, Chloe stabbed Rin's rifle with much force, breaking it. Ditching the useless weapon, Rin grabbed a knife, in an effort to bring this battle to close-quarters match. Outside, Priam and Izumi watched attentively.
"Rin--seems to be having a difficult time. Her opponent is just a regular human?"
"Yes. Chloe just has sufficient training and experience to make up for it. ALIAS' members are all skilled enough to prove a challenge to even the most battle-hardened of Entities."
Back at the simulation room, the battle had turned into a revolver match. Neither of them can afford to get cornered into an alley. Shots were firing left and right, both competitors giving it their all.
"So this is ALIAS. The resistance born from mankind's desire to bring this chaotic war to a swift end..."

Leona stood up to her feet and agreed. "Heh, you're right. Especially Rion, she has a habit of getting lost most of the time. Still, I felt her aura along with another one. She's probably safe."

Heading to the alley where she felt Rion's presence, she was rather astonished to see Rion conversing with a man, who didn't seem familiar. Still, he had a nice aura to him, indicating that he was from their side, Synchronicity. She stopped just a few inches away from them as she teased her Child a bit.

"Well, well. Growing up a bit now, Rion?" She smiled as she teased her Child.

Rin had just finished her training session. She decided to take a quick shower first before heading out on her next assignment. As she let the water cool her tired body, she heard Izumi singing in the next stall.
"Izumi, please. We don't want it to rain." She remarked.
"All right. Still, how did the simulation go?" Izumi asked, shutting off the water for a bit as she took the soap. Rin didn't answer. "Hehe, you don't have to tell me if you don't want to."

After finishing up, Rin headed to a quiet room with most of Sacred Drive's surveillance equipment. She heard Priam come in and explain her new assignment.
"Before that though, let me introduce her to you. This is Operative #67 Rin Nakahara. She is an Entity, one of ALIAS secret assets." Priam showed Rin a woman dressed in corporate attire, holding a remote control.
"Good evening. I am the head CEO at the Hyatt building, also, a Sacred Drive stockholder. I am your client for today. We heard that some files went missing earlier in the evening. Despite nothing showing up on the cameras or the security footage, we are worried that Circus or Synchronicity may have had a hand in this. Head to the Hyatt building and investigate this matter for us."

Acknowledging the mission, Rin hopped on to the ride prepared for her by the organization. It was a rather new Yamaha V-Max motorcycle. As the lights turned on to guide her out of the bureau with ease, she rode off, navigating through the underground tunnels, to avoid further detection by neither side as she goes on to investigate what happened in the Hyatt Building.

"What the Hell's a Circus Member you stupid girl? You think I'm some freak show woman?!

"Ah...so she's a new Entity after all..." Rin initially found it a bit hilarious but, she could already tell this woman is getting rather agitated. This isn't really a proper time to be reveling in humor.

As for that bullshit about me being the killer, which I'm not, I've followed the news. Those men had it coming, the wife beaters, the skin flints, hell, even that mob enforcer who broke up my love life with the only person on this green earth! They were all disloyal! Much like you! I smell it on you like perfume. You betrayed someone or something very recently. You reek of disloyalty! Someday I hope you get your comeuppance!"

"If you're not the killer then why did you choose to flee instead of turning over the items I asked for? Why run if you have nothing to hide? As for loyalty, I've only been indebted to one man who has given me the free will of choice. Your words will not change that fact." Still, the woman continued to back away. Two officers were approaching, making Rin think this will blow over well. Unfortunately--

"You called down the thunder woman. Reap what you sow. Shoot her! She's a madwoman trying to blow my brains out!! Kill her!!"

At the mention of the words, the two officers suddenly started shooting at her instead, surprising Rin. "She must have done something... No matter, these bullets have no impact on an Entity. The only reason why my bullets work is thanks to my Catalysts' magic." Still, she was in the presence of ordinary folk so she did hide behind the door, while she tried to think of a plan. She can't kill these officers that's for sure. Turning to the residents, she spotted someone who looked like an addict.

"Hey! Bring me some of that gas you inhale! Hurry!" She commanded which he immediately complied, though he was muttering some sort of incomprehensible language. Once she's gotten hold of two canisters, she threw them down and shot them, releasing the nitrous oxide compressed inside, putting the officers under the influence of the gas, forcing them to lose accuracy and coordination before stopping altogether as they fell unconscious due to the sudden exposure. Covering her nose, she peeked again but her original adversary had already disappeared. She decided to head back and sat on the bed for a minute, the sudden turn of events and the prolonged usage of the Search Eye making her dizzy. Instead of pursuing, Rin just took some fabric with her and left some last reminders to the other residents of the apartment. She also asked about the tenant living in this room but, no one seemed to know her personally let alone describe her in full detail.

"She's not a human, she my angel!" The addict responded. "Snowy white and drop-dead beautiful...whooh! The things I'd do to be by her side..." Now he was muttering nonsense. Rin took note of white but not really the beautiful part due to--well, woman's pride. She left the apartment and headed back to the Bureau, where they inspected some of the fabric.

"If only she'd handed this right from the beginning, she wouldn't have lost a place where she could stay. The outcome would've stayed the same regardless." Rin muttered as Izumi scanned the fabric, wearing precautions like a mask and goggles.

"Yeah...this definitely has magic traces on it. I found some dusts mixed in with the item, what do you want me to do about it?" Izum asked.

"Isolate it and put it under my personal surveillance. She did something to the officers, making them attack me. Who knows? This may just be how she did it." Rin was suddenly alerted by getting called into another briefing. She was informed that the aura levels in the school was fluctuating from time to time, accompanied by reports of sudden blackouts. Rin suddenly grew worried. Blackouts mean someone was messing with the electricity. There was only one person she knows who has such a strong obsession for it.

"So I'll be monitoring the school then? Okay with that said--" Izumi was about to volunteer when Rin suddenly asked to switch tasks.

"I'll monitor the school. If my intuition is correct, this may be the workings of an Entity with a darker, more sinister sense of reasoning. I'm talking about the First Wrath by the way."

"How big of a threat is he anyway? When you talk about him, I still find it hard to draw an accurate analogy."

"Assassinations, torturing, blew up an entire airliner just because his target was on it, kidnapped the mayor's daughter, severely torturing her, 80% of the residents in Hyatt lost a family member thanks to him. Comparing him with this new serial killer, the serial killer's victims don't even match 12% of the casualties he's left back then. Also..." Izumi sensed that Rin still remembers the past somehow. Sympathizing with her Entity, she allowed her to take over.

"Which means... Izumi will take over the serial killer investigation." Priam informed them of the change. Izumi looked on, visibly surprised. "So...you're sending me, someone with no combat experience to track down someone who's main skill is avoiding capture and manipulation?"

"Why not? You're small. You're a weak Catalyst. Your aura doesn't stand out too much, even I won't see you coming immediately. Just try to narrow down possible places where she may have gone hiding. Use your brains to figure it out."

"...Okay..." Izumi sighed. Sometimes, she doubts her signing up for this kind of tasks.

"Another thing... I need you to craft me an item that can mask my aura. Also, I need new clothes. I stand out too much in this uniform." Rin requested. The organization told her they'd take care of the clothes while Izumi thought of a good item to enchant with some sort of presence mask. To be able to conceal it effectively, a pair of earrings come to mind.

"I'll get it done later. Meanwhile, any clues to this killer I'm tracking?" Izumi asked.

"She's a woman with pink eyes and supposedly "white"." Rin answered smugly. She did drop "beautiful" a while ago. Still, it makes her wonder what kind of standards men have anyway. All throughout her life, she realized that no one seemed to take an interest in her.

Leona surveyed the surroundings. The base was hidden well enough, as it seems. Somehow, she wonders if the base's close proximity to the Hayashibara Power Plant somehow helps in concealing or warding off the other hostile Entities. After all, the fact that Akito, the one considered to have the most destructive power in all of Circus was slain there. Surely no one else would bother to take the risk?

Maybe Judgement was so frightened by Akito's performance as Wrath that it's hard to decide a new one. The Serial Killer could be indeed a new Sin, but it could be obvious the circus hasn't found her yet, which means they'll possibly be actively looking as well."

Now this was a bit troublesome. They have to find and apprehend the killer first before their opponent add any more to their ranks. With the lack of a Second-Generation Wrath, Leona isn't too keen on trying to unearth any more of that. There is a possibility playing in her mind but, the chances are too remote so she decided to not say anything about it.

"As for the Case of it itself, Sacred Drive may indeed have their heads deep in the case if Diligence is amongst them. Hence why I told my Child to exercise caution and not use his special ammunition his magic provides and temporarily go Melee. Also, Robin also is looking into a more personal case for him as well, one that I'd promise we'd help in anyway we'd can. I shall explain in due time. For now Robin will be fine on his own, I'll use telepathy to check on him now and again. Right now, The Children of Humility and Kindness should learn how to fend for themselves. Anything to add Leona?"

"I suppose. My current Child Rion can fight to some degree so I think she's fine but, if these kids only made the contract recently, they will need to train in this place. We'll need instructors for them though. Someone skilled in fighting at the front lines and someone well-versed in the magic arts." She suddenly recalled Kindness saying that Astraea was in town. Quickly, she packed up her bow and items and asked to be excused.

"I'm neither a front-line combatant nor someone with a vast knowledge of magic so I won't be of much help in instruction. Though if Astraea truly is in town, she may just be the instructor we need. Her knowledge of magical crafts is vast and valuable. I'm leaving to go look for her, if that's okay with everyone." She informed them of her intention to seek out her old ally.

After the mission briefing, Rin sat alone on the training platform pondering about the day's events. Izumi seemed to like their other allies back at Synchronicity. Not her though. She's already had it with that elitist group.
"Disloyal, immature, naive... I guess part of the reason why I wanted to leave was because I keep getting told all of these things almost everyday. I'm always treated like some sort of nuisance." Rin recalled all of the reprimands she's heard from the First Generation Entities when she met them, particularly the First Kindness and Chastity.
"You're too reliant on those weapons! Face the enemy head on!"
"Your mind still wavers until this day? You're a disgrace to the faction!"
"Weak. That's exactly how they initially saw me. It's always the next generation who's reprimanded the most yet always have high expectations placed upon them. At least in here, everyone's just as strong as I am. We all understand each other, acknowledge our strengths and weaknesses and see the good in everyone." Rin stood up, preparing to head out as the mission is about to start.

At the locker room, she changed her garb from her traditional uniform to a slightly less, attracting one, consisting of a simple sleeveless, white turtleneck over a black skirt and brown boots. Topping it off with a blue trench coat and her muffler, she turned to Izumi who handed her the earrings. It was crafted from silver and emeralds, small enough to be allowed on a more, conservative school campus.
"I've finished it in time. Those accessories will negate all of your aura, reducing it to a normal human's." She also handed Rin a new set of bullets and another, carbon suitcase. Opening it, Rin saw that it contained a deconstructed Walther WA 2000, complete with a new sight and ammunition.
"This is rare. I can't believe you actually got one of these."
"Right, only 176 of these were ever produced. Wasn't easy bringing it in from Germany. This would limit your range from the Savage's 1,500 meters to 700 but, this model will do since you're not really in heavy fieldwork right now and, at least you can carry it around. You'll be using .300 Winchesters though, is that alright?"
"It will do. But, I'll have difficulty if I come face to face with a melee bruiser."
"That's why I prepared another set of melee weapons to replace the M-9." Izumi hands Rin a pair of wakizashis: one that is a full, 24 inch long and a shorter one, measuring only 15 inches. "Those swords can be concealed within your coat or your belt. Just be careful."
"I don't think I'll really need the long one. I'll just drop it off at Hyatt while I'm still in the school." With her equipment updated, Rin boarded her motorcycle again and rode back to the Hyatt Building; the place where she'll be monitoring the sudden aura fluctuations within the school. Dropping off the heavier equipment, including the coat, she proceeded back outside, bringing only the handguns, short sword and muffler with her. She made her way on foot past the red-light district and into the school she'll be investigating. Glancing at the terrain, the school was landlocked by a nearby strip mall, another high-rise still in the middle of construction and a clock tower.
"The clock tower seems like a good vantage point Rin." Izumi relayed via her Contact spell.
"True. That is the best vantage point. However, any sane sniper who saw it will think so too. I'll scout for another place where I can see that tower and the school. What about you? Where are you now?" Rin asks. The night is getting deeper and Rin's senses becoming more alert now, especially since the public, which acts as their shield is completely absent.
"I'm back at home. I'm feeling a little sleepy so, can I start the mission tomorrow?"
"Yeah, sure thing." After that message, Rin decided to enjoy the little night life first before turning in for the day. Friergate doesn't have much but, there are several establishments that cater to night owls. Heading into a well-known bar downtown, she sat at the front, near the counter so she won't be bothered much. Turning to the barista, she placed her order and looked around. The atmosphere was getting heavy as teenagers danced to the rhythm of the music being played. Taking a sip, she continued to observe the others living out the life she wasn't able to.

"I see your point. It's just a rejoining. I guess you haven't completely deserted them, more of...just switched sides for the moment."

"Well, that makes me feel a lot better. I'm glad people like you still exist. People who can see things fairly." Finally, after a long while, Rin felt some sort of comfort coming from Synchronicity.

"Well then. I am Kaito Tsukuyomi, the Entity of Temperance. Originated from the Second War, and frankly, I don't feel like participating in any other. I'll share the same info- why they've been calling me a traitor. Yes, I fought in the Second War, but...I've seen enough to say that I don't want to participate in this. Friergate has enough on its plate. So...once the new Entities were chosen, I went away from Synchronicity and disappeared altogether, I guess. The newcomers sought me out along with the Second Chastity, but again, I don't think that either of us want to go back to those kinds of conflict. The other reason why they think I'm a traitor is...well, my negotiations with the Entity of Greed. Yes, a Sin. I don't see why the others get angry over things like it. He's an acquaintance. Just because we were on opposite sides doesn't mean that all friendships will be broken."

To say that Rin was completely shocked was an understatement. In a way, she felt something at the mention that the Entity of Temperance was friends with the Entity of Greed. She felt troubled, wondering how someone like that managed to fight during the last war.

"I respect your decisions in going back to Sacred Drive, don't worry. I understand it all too well. I should be heading back now. It was nice talking to you, Diligence." As he left, Rin stood up, feeling a little lighter. Talking had lifted some weight in her chest now that she knows someone can see her eye to eye. With that, for the first time, she looked forward to going back home.

The next day, at the school
Rin had arrived in full gear early in the morning to try and monitor the school. Taking advantage of the excellent view from the Clock Tower, she setup surveillance cameras and tripwires, to ensure that she'll be the only sniper in that building. Assembling the Walther, she used its scope to get a good look at each passing student.
"It's probably someone from this school. Though if I can't interact with them, I can't know for sure. Izumi, can you try to pinpoint the class where two Catalyst auras were detected? That may give us some clues. One of them is Humility's Catalyst so, since we're enemies now, do not hesitate to call me and open fire on them. Still, they have to strike first. Never take action into your own hands got it?" Rin told Izumi via contact.

Meanwhile, Izumi was walking around the school. The night before, she was informed that the serial killer seemingly dropped activity for now. Using her device to monitor auras, she deduced that it was an Entity of Sin all along. Immediately after that, her aura suddenly vanished. Like she had gone out of the city's natural territory. Until the killer shows herself again, she was working with her Entity in the meantime. She took advantage of a joint-cooperative between their schools to infiltrate the territory.

"All clear for now. So far, I can't seem to see Hikari-kun or the other aura. Still, do not worry about me. I brought something special just in case the Synchro enemies pick a fight with me." Izumi's fingers ran down through the bag she carried. Inside was a Calico M960. "This is rather light but packs a lot of punch. I'll have them reeling down in no time, including the one causing blackouts!"

"Don't be silly. Do not attack unless it's for self-defense. If you happen to see the abnormality causing the blackouts, do not engage it on your own. Call me and wait for my assistance. We'll take it down together."

"Gotcha! I was only joking around, Rin..." Izumi sighed. Sometimes, her Entity can get too serious about things.

Mika woke up later than usual, wondering why she felt so tired. As she freshened up within the bathroom, she saw some tips of her hair appeared cut off. A news clipping flashed, showing the faces of the girls that bullied her. They appeared to have gone missing.
"Was this your doing Aki-san?!" Mika almost cried, as she asked.
"Come on! I did it for you! Besides, you were going to kill them anyway!" Akito answered back. Realizing that this argument will not go anywhere, she decided to just leave and go to school. She knew Akito was taking over her body sometimes but, it had been getting frequent recently that she wonders how long she'll be able to hold up.

As she entered her classroom, arriving there before everyone else, she decided to catch up on some of the rest she's been missing. Everything seemed to quiet now that the bullies were gone. Seeing that no one was around, she took out the gun and examined it. The magazine was no longer full. Right there, she realized that he did take over and used her body to kill them. But, if they were gone, won't there be evidence for it? Hearing that someone is coming, she quickly hid it and hid her head under her arms, as if she was sleeping in.

Unknown to her, another Catalyst was sent to monitor her movements. From behind the wall, Fumina waited and observed, remaining vigilant as Akito may re-emerge again. Her Master didn't seem to want him around, even if they were allies.

As the morning sun slowly rose, Astraea and Leona had gone down to the Spiral Highlights, leaving a Rion a note that she follow them when she wakes up. Leona helped Astraea make the necessary preparations to ensure that no one barges in on the training later afternoon.
"What kind of training will you have them do Astraea?" Leona asked as she finished setting up the wire that can entrap familiars using the same logic she used back at the park.
"Well, I'll assess the amount of knowledge they have in the meantime. Knowledge is what gives magicians like us our powers and we need to fully refine it over time. Since the two didn't appear to be descended from a magical family, their bloodline is weak. It will take a lot of training to make them reach the level of a third-rate mage at the very least." Astraea answered as she finished setting up her magical sigil. They were right in the middle of the city, the most perfect place to rejuvenate their energies.
"I wonder if Masenai and his Catalyst are also interested in coming along?"

"Morning ladies. This seems to be a fine morning to prepare for a lesson hm?"

The two glanced at their side as the Virtue of Charity entered. They acknowledged and waved at him before carrying on with their preparations. In the meantime, Astraea rationalized why she chose to train them in the afternoon.
"Mage's powers usually vary depending on the time. As such, there are times when our magic fluctuates. In general, our powers reach our peak during early morning at 2:00 AM to 3:00 AM. Unfortunately for us, magic is considered a form of heresy by the Church and as such, we are at our weakest during 3:00 PM, the holy hour, the time when the Son of God met his end. To take advantage of this, the trend is reversed and we get stronger at 3:00 AM or the demonic witching hour. Kind of ironic isn't it? All mages fall under this rule, whether Circus or Synchronicity, as far as I recall. Sloth, for instance follows this rule as well."

"And you chose to train them in the afternoon, just when magic powers are recovering. I see now." Leona finished setting up another sigil. She glanced at the two to inform them the preparations are finished.

"Well, there's that but I also don't want them to miss school." Astraea smiled at Leona. "We'll have to rely on you to guard us while training Leona. Your skills are much needed right now. I'll be asking this same favor to you too, Masenai-san."

"All right, I got it." Leona picked up the case her bow comes in and checked the contents. "I still have arrows to spare. I'll stay on the lookout on the higher floors."

As the class went on, Mika quietly took down her notes and did her seatworks, thankfully, without much interference from Akito. In fact, almost the whole day went on without him interfering with her schedule. It was almost unnerving.
"Aki-san, you've been quiet throughout the day..." Mika decides to poke the devil in her head.
"We're being watched. Didn't you notice? Aside from the two Catalysts in the school, two more emerged?"
"Ah! You're right. Though, I can't see them. They might not be in this class." Mika was shocked. She was actually cooperating.
"Hey girl, what on-school activities are you having now?"
"Well, there is that cooperative where students from other schools will be visiting but aside from that--"
"Those auras may have come from the foreigners entering this school right now. Keep an eye on them. They may lead us on."
When lunch started, Mika walked towards the bulletin board, looking for the advisory showing all the students who'll be coming in. She browsed through the names, jotting them down in her little notebook, as well as brief physical descriptions of each. Casually, she walked to their canteen to have her lunch, a little bit unaccustomed since her bullies weren't around.

In the meantime, Izumi chose to eat right by the orchard, where Rin could easily see her. Waiting around under the tree, she informed Rin of their progress.
"No sign of the Entity we're looking for but, I did manage to smell a third Catalyst's aura nearby. I guess someone chose to keep tabs on what we are looking for as well."
"Try intercepting that aura. If they are one step ahead of us, they may lead us to our primary target."
"Gotcha!" Suddenly, Izumi felt a powerful notorious aura suddenly enter the perimeter. "You feel that Rin?"
"Yeah. Leave that one to me and just do what you're supposed to do."

On the roof of the unfinished highlight near the strip mall, Nozomi observed the terrain via his familiar's eyes. He also communicated with Fumina via telepathy. He glanced around the place, looking for any other Entity in the area. So far, nothing, aside from the four Catalysts within the school.
"Can you see them, Fumina?" Nozomi asked as he raised some binoculars towards the room Mika was staying at. The two younger boys were in visible sight as well.
"Yeah. I'm in the adjacent room, facing theirs. We are at least 7 meters apart."
"This is the first that I've seen two Catalysts of Synchronicity in the open. Can you tell who they are?"
"The blue one's aura is rather high. It's probably Humility's Catalyst. If not, then it might be Patience's. The other one is alright. At this rate, he could be anyone's."
"I see."
"Cast Idyll's of Theseus in this area and I'll strike those two down, eliminating any further threat from them. At the distance I'm in, it will only need me three seconds to hurl myself towards them. Depending on whether or not they'll be expecting me, I may be able to end this in a quick stroke." Fumina offered, ready to materialize her halberd.
"No Fumina. Not when there's a chance that we're dealing with Leona's Catalyst here. We don't want unnecessary hatred between us. Focus on Mika for now. I'll deal with them personally when the time comes."
"Got it."

The wind whistled throughout the tower as Rin shifted aim towards the strip mall area. "Nozomi... from the looks of it, it seems like you haven't noticed me at all. Now's the perfect chance." Rin watched her counterpart through the scope. She was about to fire but remembered that he can easily block a single attack.
"Tch! Damn that field of his!" Rin chose to watch closely, waiting to see what happens next. Depending on how their Catalysts will react, a battle may yet occur.

#, as written by chrian.
Hikari sit there while waiting until the classes begin, but he couldn't help feeling some other auras that have been entering this school. Because he felt that his sensor is getting more and more acute everyday, it wasn't that hard to spot where the other auras were. "If I was right then there are two other catalysts that had entered the school aside from me and Hajime. There was one aura that I've never encountered before, but the other was quite familiar, though I don't really recall if I've met this one before." Hikari thought as he turned to Hajime, both of them secretly nodded to each other. "Good, it seems that he also know for now, although they're just catalysts, we should stay alert."

But just as Hikari was still sitting, Kyo's voice suddenly booming in his head again which almost caused him to fell down from his chair. "Hey Hikari, how is it going? Did you manage to feel anything?"

Hikari managed to keep himself from falling just in time. He sighed in relief then straighthen himself up. He looked around and saw that everyone was looking at him with weird looks because he just almost fell down for no reasons. Hikari scratches the back of his head and laughed awkwardly then turned away. "That was closed. Don't ever do that again." Hikari growled and replied via their connection.

"Hehe, sorry, just wanted to surprise you a bit." Kyo grinned.

"So, are you near, oniisan? Why did you ask if I managed to feel anything or not?"

"Well, I'm sitting at the coffee shop near your school right now, Miru-kun didn't feel like going out today so I'm on my own," Kyo answered, "and the reason why I asked that, let just say that the connection of the Entity and catalyst between us is quite different from the rest of the Virtues. Our bonds in blood and soul are much stronger. Through that connection, besides that we can communicate through telepathy, I can see what you see, hear what you hear and even feel what you feel as if your senses are mine as long as we're near. And guess what? No psychic ability could intercept. It's... kinda complicated so I'll explain to you later. You just need to know that I'm well-aware of what is happening around you right now."

"I see," Hikari replied, "okay, so as you may see, I spotted two other auras appeared in our school. Because those auras weren't very high, I supposed that they belonged to catalysts like me."

"Yeah, from what I can felt through you, it seemed that one aura belonged to a Child, and it was quite familiar. I guess that it was from Izumi, Diligence's Catalyst. Because she's fighting against us now so you should be wary of her too. And the other, I think it was from a Sin's catalyst, but I don't think I've ever met that one before because this aura is somewhat kinda different from the rest of the catalysts that I've encounter so far." Kyo said.

"Uh huh, so what should me and Hajime-kun do?" Hikari asked.

"Because your school is getting crowded, I don't think that both of them will act. For now, just concentrate in your subjects until lunch break. At lunch break, find somewhere you think that might be hidden enough and I'll contact you again."

"Okay, the teacher's coming. Call you later, oniisan."

As expected, the classes went by quite normal and there wasn't any troubles for both Hikari and Hajime so far. When lunch break comes, both of the Children got out of their class. "Hey Hajime-kun," Hikari said to his friend, "I need to go somewhere for a moment. Just go to the cafeteria and I'll catch up shortly."

"Oh sure," Hajime replied, "but be quick, okay? I don't want to eat without you." Hikari nodded and then both of them parted into different ways. Hikari then made his way to the male's bathroom. When he got inside, he went into an empty room and locked the door then sitting on the toilet.

"WC? Really?" Kyo said sarcastically.

"Well, this is the only place that I could come up right now. I'm pretty sure that they won't follow me here. Izumi-san is a girl, right? And if the other catalyst is also a girl, then I don't think that they'd dare to charge into here. Because around these time, this bathroom is usually filled with some boys doing some... er... sensitive thing, if you know what I mean... And so far, I don't see that the auras are near me at all."

"Well, no matter. Anyway, the reason why I called you is that even though both of the catalysts aren't likely to act in the middle of the public, you still need to stay alert in case something unexpected happens. Okay, now close your eye and imagine as if there was a barrier surrounding you. Try."

"Okay..." Though Hikari didn't understand what his Entity is up to, he cleared his mind and do exactly like Kyo told. At the first minute, nothing is happening which discouraged him a bit. But he tried to keep up and there was some stirring around him. "That's good, keep it going..." Kyo said. After some while, he opened his eyes and saw that there is a barrier surrounded him. "Wow, that was awesome," Hikari smiled while said proudly, "I did it."

"You've made progress ever since I met you," Kyo smiled, "okay, only you can see the barrier surrounding you right now so you wouldn't have to worry. This barrier should be able to deflect the other catalysts' attacks and give both of you sometimes for a swift escape. Although with your strength right now, you're not capable of countering powerful attacks yet. Still, it'd be okay now even if they attack you surprisingly. Remember, if they decided to hit you, then do not try and face them by yourselves, because they've been catalysts for quite sometime according to their auras so they have more experience than you and Hajime-san did. Try to flee and call me. I'll be there as quick as possible to take them down and got you two outta there before their Entities arrive. Got it?"

"Got it. And about Hajime-san, what should I do if they hit on him but not me? I don't want him to get hurt."

"A nice feature of your magic is that you can tap another barrier to another person too, though like everyone, Hajime wouldn't feel or see that barrier. You just need to touch him and he'll be safe and sound. Now continue to focus on the remaining subjects until school finished. Until then, I'll just keep checking should anything happens and I'll follow both of you to the Spiral Highlights."

"Thanks, Kyo-oniisan." Hikari replied and got out of the room then made his way to the cafeteria.

Hajime made his way to the cafeteria by himself while still keeping his guard on. When he got there, he felt a little... distress of sorts. Hajime and Hikari has always go with each other in lunch break and he felt that it was a little lonely to eat without his best buddy. He sighed then grabbed a tray then pick up whatever food the cafeteria got to offered. Carrying his own tray, he tried to find a seat. Looking around, Hajime saw that there was an empty spot on the opposite of Mika so he decided to go there. Since her bullies are now gone, he wanted to speak to her a little.

"Hey Mika-san," Hajime said as he walked up to her, "mind if I sit here?"

As they were in the middle of reminiscing, Astraea suddenly felt an ominous aura approach within close proximity. The feeling it instilled was enough to make Leona get up and ready her arrow, pointing it to the adjacent building. Right then and there, the leader of Circus has finally decided to make an appearance.
"I presume we all have met somewhere at some point back then so I'm skipping the introductions. Straight to the point, I am inviting you to hold a dialogue with me later this evening."

"Dialogue? You aren't referring to the intermissions tradition aren't you?" Leona asked, awaiting some sort of confirmation. Instead though, Alistair merely provided them the details.

"This isn't a treaty or anything. It is merely the formal statement of the side's true intentions for this war. As such, certain conditions must be met. I for one will only bring two other Sins with me so, I expect you to do the same, if only out of respect. Leona saw him turn towards her before continuing. "You seem to be the leader of this group, given that your current Humility is severely lacking compared to his predecessors. So, will you take this offer? If you don't want to that's fine but, we will take it to mean that Synchronicity has no plans for this city and as such, make the assumption that you are merely fighting for an empty cause, which doesn't benefit this city at all. Take your time. We'll be waiting at the Rockfeller's building near the capital area. And I only expect three people to arrive. Rest assured, no trickery will be involved here. I won't reduce my status by relying on underhanded tactics. This negotiations have been a tradition of the past, it would be blasphemous to taint it if we were to fight while it is underway."

"I'm no leader but, if this invitation is extended to me then I won't disappoint you. Very well, I accept." Leona agreed to the conditions. She watched him fly away, disappearing into darkness, invisible to the naked eye.

"Leona-san..." Astraea approached her, feeling a little worried.
"Not to worry. He is Pride after all. I'm sure that his very definition as an Entity entails him to always take us on without relying on underhanded tactics. Besides, both of the First Humility and Pride underwent this tradition. Seeing that our current Humility isn't around, I'll go in his stead."
"But, isn't it better for us to inform him? He still holds the title after all."
"Titles are just that, titles. Besides, they all need to focus on the serial killer, and I'm not willing to reduce the manpower we have on that team. In any case, I'll need two Entities whom I can take along."
"Then I'm going. I want to know what Alistair's plans are, now that he's gained the highest position within the Circus. I'll also be able to intercept Nozomi while we're there." Astraea volunteered.
"Very well." Turning to Masenai, Leona asked him. "We are the ones he invited so, do you want to come along? It might get severely political though and if it's not up your alley, I'll just take my Catalyst then."

While waiting for Charity's reply, Rion--no, the alternate personality, Shion finally caught up to them. "So then, Leona-san, why exactly did you call me here?"

"Perfect timing. You'll be training with the new Catalysts that were recruited. You have some knowledge of battle and, since I just managed to acquire more power during my last few missions, I'm sure you have as well." Leona lifted an arm, her ring glowing. "Now our abilities are in synch again. Aside from your strength, you are now able to tank on physical damage from ordinary weapons. Non-enchanted bullets and knives won't work on you anymore. Your senses have gone sharper as well, along with your agility."

"Leona, what happened to Rion?" Astraea asked, slightly confused. Realizing that they haven't met Rion's split personality yet, she introduced her to both Entities there. "My Child suffers from Dissociative Identity Disorder. This is the other persona, Shion. She's quite a fighter as well." Leona finished.

As Nozomi continued to monitor the Catalysts, he received an urgent call from Alistair, calling him back. He made sure that his psychic encryption was still on before deciphering the coded message. His psychic encryption translates any psychic communication sent to him into a warbled mess which only sounds like random gibberish to any outsider who tries to peer into his mind. Not even the First and Second Generations of Pride can decipher them.
Nozomi, Lionel. Meet me here later- We're heading to the Rockfeller's building. I've asked for a dialogue exchange with some of the veterans of Synchronicity to see what their intentions are for this city."
"Fumina, we're heading back. Alistair has summoned us."
"You go on ahead. I'll just finish up a bit here. Expect me to come late, Master."
"...Very well. Don't do anything rash." With that, Nozomi descended from his lookout, merging into the crowd below. From the tower, Rin sighed in relief as she was the only Entity in that area again--for now.

In the meantime, Fumina had walked out of the school and entered the unfinished building near the strip mall, close to where her Master was. Reaching a section lined with piles and cement bags, she called out from behind her.
"You know, I don't really appreciate getting stalked." Fumina called out, her eyes illuminating and her halberd materializing.
"Well...I was hoping you were more of a negotiating type rather than a brawler so, I wanted to tail you until you lead me to the Entity we're looking for." Izumi emerged from the shadows, scratching the back of her head as her other hand carried a small case.
"Diligence's Catalyst..." Fumina gritted her teeth as her hand raised to prepare her halberd. Izumi on the other hand, merely gave her a sharp grin as she took out the Calico from the case she carried.
"You're on sister!"

Rin watched Nozomi walk down and disappear with the crowd through the scope of her sniper rifle. She sighed in relief as the immediate threat had disappeared for now. Re-calibrating her settings and position, she continued to monitor the school premises. So far, no activity from all Catalysts. It reached the point of dismissal and most of the students have started heading back, including Hikari and the other Catalyst with him.
"Now then, let's see who remains late in this school..."

In the meantime, Mika had just woken up, still feeling a bit bothered by auras suddenly appearing and disappearing. She had no one to turn to about it, except for the Entity within her mind. She headed down to the school's backyard, taking a look at the circuit breaker there.
"Hey kid! Let's not go on with your training today." Akito immediately told her.
"Why not? Usually you're very harsh and strict about it."
"Slight disturbances in your daily pattern is healthy and removes suspicions. Those auras are still troubling and you may still be observed until now. The inexperienced draw attention to them by acting differently. That's all I can say. Go to the bookstore or mingle with your friends, I don't care either way."
Mika gave her Entity's words some thought. "Well...I guess I've been meaning to go to the bookstore anyway..." Turning around, Mika started walking away, unaware of the eyes that watched her from afar.

"Okay, what made you change your mind?" Rin thought as she observed quietly. This girl looked like she had something to do at first but immediately changed her mind during the last minute. A little suspicious. Taking out a long-range camera, she took a picture of Mika before packing away her things for the duration of the afternoon. Entering the school, she browsed through the club listings on the bulletin board, trying to find a name and face that matched the girl earlier.
"Mika Iriai, third year class-B, member of the Library Committee." Rin read the name aloud, wondering if she was the one they were looking for.
"Aside from this, the school's atmosphere is heavily saturated. Multiple auras gathered here no doubt. In any case, I don't want to linger here any further." Calling out to her Catalyst, she gave the order. "Izumi, let's withdraw."
Gunshots. Rin was shocked when she heard it coming from Izumi's side. She took off immediately, trying to reach her Catalyst before it was too late.

Within the confines of the small space, both Catalysts went at each other. Fumina was obviously stronger and more experienced but, the disadvantages of a close range weapon in the face of a gun came biting to her hard. While she's not getting hit, she can't seem to close the distance between them, despite her superior strength and agility. On the other hand, Izumi tried to get by her mediocre accuracy by employing spray and run tactics, betting on the chance of a random hit while keeping her distance at the same time.
"Thirty-three bullets left. Two more reloads." Izumi thought as she docked behind a steel pillar. Taking a peek outside, her halberd wielding opponent had also taken cover behind another pillar, ten meters away. "This is bad, she's getting close."
Suddenly, from nowhere, a smoke grenade was hurled in their direction. Through the cover, Rin dragged Izumi away, immediately ducking through the lower floors as they exited the building. Slashing through the smoke, Fumina went to the last position her opponent was in only to see that she was not there anymore.
"Entity? No, I wasn't able to pick up any auras. This girl was a member of Sacred Drive so it may be another one of their subordinates. The question is, have they already began tracking us?" Fumina thought as she surveyed the place. Picking up the canister of the smoke grenade, she checked out the model. It was nothing out of the ordinary.
"Well, at least I know someone was here to save her."

"Well, thanks for the save Rin!" Izumi and Rin talked to each other as they walked down the road, their equipment hidden well as they made their way towards the Hyatt Building. "So, have you found who we're looking for?"
"Maybe. I have a hunch but until then, I can't be too sure. In the meantime, I need you to craft a drone for me. How's your crafting abilities?"
"All well and good. My power grows as you grow more knowledgeable. I can safely say that among most pairs, the nature of our contract is unorthodox. My crafting abilities now allow me to create items like your earrings." Rin took note of her Catalyst's words.
"Then, I have another request for you. We need to make a bullet but, this time, I will personally oversee its specifications."

"First off, can you two boys tell me under what logic are we training in this place, a very high building right in the heart of the city?" Astraea formally began their lesson as the two Catalysts finally arrived. As per her initial task, she was assessing their knowledge in the field they were geared at. "Leona-san, won't Shion-chan train as well?"
"No, Shion's a brawler. She'll be fine without magic for now. Besides, her magical blood is very thin." Leona spoke on her Child's behalf. "Then, the ones going will be me, you and Shion, seeing that the others have businesses they need to tend to. Rockfeller's building. Don't forget."
"Okay. Now, let's continue."

After Kyo has left, both of the Children looked around the top of the building a bit and they must admit that this place is quite a perfect place for them to train. "First off, can you two boys tell me under what logic are we training in this place, a very high building right in the heart of the city?" Astraea asked both of them.

"Before we started, I think we have something to report. When we're still at school, we felt that there are some strange auras appeared within the school's ground. These auras' emission is just about as us so I think they're only catalysts. We managed to identify one of them as Diligence's Child, while the other one is a Sin's catalyst. I don't know why did they decide to infiltrate our school, I guess they wanted to spy on us or something, though I wasn't completely sure if that is their only purpose." Hikari replied formally, "Well, I'm just saying that so that so you can get to know more about our situation. Okay, please give us a few moments to check around this place a bit."

Hikari and Hajime nodded to each other, they looked as if they're taking this more serious than ever. Both of them rolled their eyes to observe their surrounding as the wind blew. Hajime held out his hand to track around the air around them while Hikari closed his eyes and moved both of his middle finger onto his temples to check the elemental flows around the area. After some while checking, they discussed with each other in quietly a bit then turned to Astraea.

"You go first, Hajime-kun." Hikari said to his best friend.

"As you see, we're standing on one of the tallest building within this district. Let's talk about the elemental flows first." Hajime said as he held out his hand and a burst of flame appeared, "as the aptitude got higher, the elemental flows which gave us who have power to control the basic elements became less unstable. This building is in the center of the city, which is also the center of the mana fields, or what you would call as "fey lines." Using these features as an advantage, we can connect our magic better without being feared of losing control of our will. I can control my fire a lot more easier here than when I'm back at the ground because of that."

Hikari then continued, "Let's imagine the mana flows like a completely static pool. If there are any forces that try to interrupt within this area, then that pool will immediately be stirred and we'll be able to felt it so that we can prepare if anything unexpected happens. Also, because like Hajime-kun said, this building is right in a local fey line, we could cast our magic safely without being affected should there are some others waves that came from unknown sources of magic. This can unstabilize the whole elemental flows which could make it become pertubated to the point that we couldn't hold off. That are the main reasons. There are some other reasons that this place wasn't as remote as our basement like in the industrial district, and we wouldn't attract too many attention if we practice in this height. Also, there's something that we'd like to add..." He looked at the sun which is almost going to set.

"The reason that you wanted us to train at this time." Hajime looked at his watch to catch the time and then looked up, "right now is 5:00 PM. Two hours had passed since the time that we mages are deemed weakest and our strenght is currently returning to us. We can perform our abilities at different levels through this."

With that said, Hajime nodded and Hikari said, "That's the logic that we thought about this place as a training field for us. Well, I don't know if we're totally correct, but I hope that we were right at some degree."

After Kyo has got out from the Spiral Highlights, he made his way back to their basement. When he has made it there, he saw that Miruka is already there waiting for everyone.

"Hey, Miru-kun." Kyo smiled as he walked up to his friend, who was sitting in front of the screen.

"Hi, Kyo-chin. Sorry for not being with you today. I was kinda lazy, y'know." Miruka grinned.

"You've never changed." Kyo laughed as he sat down.

"So, what's happened today? I've checked the charts and I think I know who has decided to appeared today already."

"That's not all. Hikari and Hajime was being spied on today by two other catalysts. Luckily that nothing has happened." Kyo sighed while wrapping his arms and leaned his back on the chair, "even our Children are being spied on, looks like no one is totally safe now. They're currently training with our seniors right now and I took them there by myself, just in case."

"Uh huh," Miruka nodded, "Alistair has got out from that hidden headquarters it seems, though not for long. But Lust has somehow disappeared from the area that we could catch wind, maybe the Circus has found her and she's now at their hideout. And strangely enough, there wasn't any news from the serial-killer ever since last night. Do you think..."

"It could be a possibility, however, we can't be totally sure right now and we need some more investigations before we could jump into the conclusion of this case. About Alistair, I felt him when I got near the Spiral Highlights, maybe he was there to meet with our fellow Entities? I don't know what is he up to. Perhaps he came to declare war?"

"I don't think so. In both the first and second wars, there's a tradition that representatives from both sides will meet up and talk about the the true intentions of the wars of the both. Maybe he just suddenly appeared from nowhere like that to state that out. After all, he is the highest of the Circus right now, isn't he? But it isn't like the leader always has to go anyway. It was Ryan along with two other Virtues that go on the behalf of Kaori back in the second war so this time you should just let our older Entities like Leona-oneesan and Astraea-oneesan to do the job. For now, I think we should just continue with our own case." Miruka paused a bit, "Okay, what's your plan?"

"Yeah," Kyo nodded, he understands the reason why it wouldn't be him, but he isn't ready to reveal his true strenght yet, "Firstly, I think I should change the position of this basement, but I need everyone around to decide which place would be the best. And secondly, Masenai-senpai asked me and you to wait for him here until he return. He also insisted that I can't go out tonight." He sighed, "I was intended to go and meet with a "friend" of mine who can help me if I were going to continue this fight, but it seems that tonight wasn't the right time."

"A "friend"?" Miruka raised an eyebrow at what Kyo said. Asides from himself, he doesn't know anyone who could've been Kyo's friends.

"Right, but don't trouble yourself about it. And don't force me to tell, I'm not telling." Kyo spoke and mischiviously put his index finger on his lips.

"Fine, whatever. Everyone has their own lives, I know." Miruka sighed, though he really would like to know about this person, but he respects his friend's private life like Kyo has always respected him. "So, why did Masenai-senpai wanted you to stay indoor tonight?"

"He said that there was a file of a case related to his Child's parents 4 years ago that he wants to look into." Kyo said as he turned to the screen, "say, we still keep the files of the cases in the last 5 years in our basement right?"

"Yeah, I copied them all into this computer." Miruka said as he slided the screen and opened the files' window. A list of some infamous cases' files appeared, he rolled the bar while search for the file that Masenai spoke up. After some while, he managed to find a file which is similar to what the Entity of Charity has said. "Is this it? The missing case 4 years ago which he spoke of?"

"I think so. Let's print it out." Kyo said as he began the printing process. After about 10 minutes, the files was printed and he hold them together with a clip. Though he was intended to look through it, he think he should wait until Masenai return. "I think it is the best to look into it with Masenai-senpai later." Kyo said.
