"I would sooner blow up my ship than surrender"
Likes: Seclusion, his crew (see below), night, stars, cold, rain, snow, books, machinery, and quiet
Dislikes: Other people (aside from his crew), racism, killing (unless absolutely necessary), heat, confinement, megalomaniacs (he despises them), crying, and children
Fears: The death of his crew
Personality Description: He has a cold, rough, emotionless exterior, his gaze itself is said to have caused an entire crew to give of hope of repelling an invasion from him. On the inside, he is still pretty cold and rough, but he still can feel emotions, but he rarely shows them. He has an intense need to protect his crew, he would do anything for them, even die. Unlike the average Dragonlance, Jacob enjoys reading, and has a basic grasp at most mechanics. He is a good person at heart, so if one had a problem it wouldn't be too hard to enlist him and his crew. And he has but one bad habit, smoking.

Past: Jacob was born into the Dragonlance, he was never sure who his parents were, or where they were. The Dragonlance trained, and drugged, him from birth. He finished his training at the age of 16, and was thrust into battle, since there was no major enemy, and not much honor to be had, The Dragonlance sent him, along with a few dozen others to mindlessly attack pirates, the ones stupid enough to be near Skala, and that's what he did for 9 years, he honed his skills, and personally killed dozens of pirates. But after those twelve years, an incident occurred, an incident that changed him. Jacob was 25 years old, he had been in many battles, and so far, only lost an eye and a leg. He was one of five crewmen on a ship, when he was ordered to attack a passenger ship by his commander, "because it looked like a pirate ruse" his commander told him, needless to say it wasn't, Jacob and his shipmates killed dozens of innocents just because the commander was bored, it had been several months since they had run into pirates. Once they returned to the city, Jacob and his crew mates were seized by the Dragonlance and imprisoned, for their commander's actions. Jacob and his crew mates were set loose in a single cell, Jacob fought his commander every day, suffering bruises, and fractures, after about three months, his commander finally fell but Jacob spared him. The next week his commander nearly killed him using a piece of stone broken off the floor, but instead decided to see how many times he could cut him before he bled out, Jacob survived 27 before the guards stopped his commander, who had already killed his other crew mates with the piece of stone, they patched up Jacob and he was alone in the prison for another 23 months, he was released and was thrown from the Dragonlance, with nothing but a pair of tattered cloths. He met a Elven mechanic named Vas'la Mari 2 months later in a bar a small distance from the city, she repaired his leg, and they became friends, after 5 months of their friendship, they decided to go out on a ship together and become pirates, They recruited two others, a human pilot named Eric Morrow, and a robot named Jenna, just Jenna, they broke into a research center in the Capitol of the South Wind and stole an experimental ship with a plasma engine, as well as a few experimental weapons and technology, they escaped unscathed, named the ship Artemis, and began a pirating career, Vas'la was the Engineer, Eric was the helmsman, Jenna was the medic/gardener, and Jacob was the Captain, they have raided the better off, without killing whenever possibly, for years, and have increased their wealth immensely.
Present: The crew of the Artemis are as close today as ever, but, with filling a good margin of wealth, they want to stop pirating, but they don't know how.
