Miles grew up in a small town in the mid-west. Life was hard after his mother passed away from a boating accident when he was seven, but he and his dad made life bearable for each other. His father made it bearable by becoming a cop, and he made it bearable by becoming the oddball, class-clown he was through high school. Despite his antics that usually resulted in weekends of detention, Miles was rather intelligent having multiple chances to skip grades twice but choosing ultimately not to be further alienated by peers and staying at the grade level that corresponded to his age. Despite the hijinks, the antics, and the ensuing insanity that normally follows suit when Miles walks into a room, the young man finds himself in an awkward position with some Seniors when he was just s sophomore. Some didn’t get his sense of humor, they though he was weird or insane and others just avoid him all together. It’s his sense of isolation that drew a man named Jaric. Heand revealed to him that he was a werewolf and that he could offer something more to life. It was then that Miles revealed to the werewolf that he has extreme panic attacks when it comes to water or anything boat related because of his mother death. Something as simple as washing his hands makes a small shudder of fear run up his body. Jaric offered to get rid of that. After saying no the first time, Miles was the victim of a prank that resulted him being thrown into the school pool and nearly drowning. Jaric was there to save him and after the tremors and the hyperventilating had calmed, Miles asked Jaric to give him the bite. Slade Industries had their eye on Jaric, but when he bit Miles, all the attention went to him.
Miles is witted, intelligent and quick to come up with a quip about almost every situation or person. His personality makes him come off as a smartass when in all honestly, he’s being nice. His social awkwardness takes on levels that he would describe as annoyingly adorable at times, just to throw people off. He is insightful and logical in his application of reasoning and advice which is what some people tend to befriend him for, his advice. He knows how to read people, and can be fiercely loyal to those he considers friends.
