This demon appears to her victims as either a twelve year old girl, an old woman, or a generally beautiful woman. Most of the time she appears as a beautiful, young woman in a white dress. Lady Midday is known to appear to workers in fields, specifically during the hottest part of the day during summer. She asks the unfortunate worker a difficult question, or engages them in conversation. Then, should the worker answer incorrectly or attempt to change the subject without being prompted to, she uses either a scythe or a pair of old-styled shears (by old-styled, meaning far from modern day scissors) to decapitate them. There are other means for her victim's death, however. She is also known to afflict illnesses, heat strokes, or a literal 'pain in the neck'. A less common form of torture she gave was madness. A less common role she plays is whisking away children when they are looking for flowers in grain plants on hot summer days, and making them disappear. Lady Midday has the ability to take the form of a whirling dust cloud, and no other elemental forms are known to be taken by her.
Lady Midday is known by more than one name, her victims may know her as Pscipolnitsa, Polednice, Poludnica, or Mittagsfrau. She is known mainly in Eastern Europe, specifically in the Slavic.
