Despite what you may believe, the human trafficking trade is alive and well in America. Welcome to the auction held in Seattle, a high interest event filled with those rich enough and lacking in morals to buy whoever they wish.
Damien had just bought young girl that he thought could keep him company and he was waiting in a lavish waiting room to get to know her a little better. His thoughts turning to the current circumstances he frowned, there was a time where he would never be somewhere like this. Brushing the thought away he sighed, checked to make sure his suit was right, and waited.

Mia was young and recently just kidnapped and and all she remembered was being sold on a stage and told to wait until she was sent to go with him. She had just changed from the dress to make her look all dolled up and they had changed her in a short blue mini-dress. She walked out with the man. Who had threatened to hurt her badly if she did any movements.
She went to the man who was the one who had bought her apparently. "Hello Sir." She said looking at the man that the other one left her in front of.

Damien waved the other person off. She was wearing a dress that told a pretty clear story about why most people here were sold.
Damien gestured to the sofa on the other side of the room, "You can sit down if you like." "I'm Damien Sombre and I'm the one that bought you; if it helps I'm probably one of the least harmful people here." He frowned slightly, "Are you okay?"

She sat down as he directed. She placed her one leg crossing it over the other and folded her hands in her lap. "Nice to meet you Mr. Sombre." She said smiling at him.
She was scared but she wanted to make sure not to get hurt. She had watched horror movies and she knew not to mess with these kind of people. "Yes I am fine thank you for caring about my well being." She said looking at him with a smile.

After clearing his throat he attempted to explain the situation. "You're basically here because I need a companion." Realizing how that sounded he hastily clarified himself "Not like that! No need to worry about that." Damien looked down at his watch, he didn't really want to be here much longer. "We can go if you like, just stay close to me and they'll leave you alone."
She looked down a bit and then back up at him. She was only seventeen and he looked older. But he was good looking and he seemed to mean well. She handn't realized she was as shy as she was before this. She looked up and smiled with a nod and stood to her feet. "Sure where do you plan to go?" She asked him wondering if that was allowed to be asked for a question.

He reached over for the black umbrella he had brought with him. "Well, I was planning on going home." He walked over and pushed the door open, showing the barren hallway. "Remember, stay close to me."
She looked at him and walked with him to the door. "Yes I remember." She said as she walked with him through the barren hallway. She was scared but knew that this was her new life now. That she would never end up going home.

Damien walked through the hall at a decent pace, largely ignoring all the guards and other buyers. He greeted a few business contacts briefly and made his way outside, popping the umbrella open and holding it over Mia and putting a cold hand on her shoulder. He made his way towards a graphite and silver Rolls Royce Wraith (oddly enough, the simple color scheme made the car even more pretentious). Damien held the door open for Mia before going around to his side. He sat down in the driver's seat and sighed, "You know, you're probably one of the luckier girls here."
She walked with him until they got outside holding an umbrella over her head and then placing a cold hand on her shoulder she shuddered but didn't say anything. She walked into the car as he opened the door and sat inside. She buckled up and listened as he spoke. "I bet I am." She said looking at him. He was good looking but she needed to put that out of her mind. She smiled letting her hands be folded on her lap.

The ever present rain of Washington pelted against the metal roof of the car. "You know.. I've always liked the rain." Damien started the car and drove off, quickly leaving the city and heading off into the more relaxed, curving roads of the country. He smiled whenever he knew the road was going to curve and sped up each time, enjoying the speed. After a pseudo-labyrinth of twist and turns they arrived at a drive-way that seemed to disappear into the woods. He turned onto it and stopped at a rather gothic looking gate, black iron spikes, gargoyles on the stone pillars, stereotypical really.
Mia looked at him. "The rain is nice but the sun is a bit nicer. You can feel the heat." She said with a smile she watched carefully as the scenerys past. It seemed to be going by really fast but if she said anything then she might get in trouble. So she just stayed quiet. Not wanting to mess up. She looked at the gates in front of her. "This is where you live?" She asked him. Turning to face him.

He leaned over and swept a card to open the gate. "Sun light just isn't my thing, my family tends to burn easily." After rolling through the gate he swept the card on a different machine so the gate closed. After parking the car in the garage along with two other cars he unlocked the door to the house and held the door open. "Ladies first." The door opened into the living room which followed a black and white modern theme. After they had both came in he locked the door behind him and flicked on the T.V, offering her the remote.

She looked at him and smiled. "Well sunlight isn't for everyone." She said as they went inside. As she walked out of the car from the garage she went with him. As she went with him to the living room she sat down on a couch and looked at him with a smile. "No I don't need to change the TV you watch what you like." She said crossing her legs and folding her hands on her lap.

"Oh.." He began to change the channels, scoffing at some generic vampire movie, muttering some complaint about clichés, and settling on Food Network. "I like Chopped," he said, somewhat off handedly. He took a second to get settled and clapped his hands. "So... I'm sure you're wondering why you're here? It isn't anything terrible, I assure you."
"I am curious. If its okay with you for me to know." She said looking at him. She had been listening to everything he said. He seemed good, but what could she say? She didn't know him, she never known him. So what could he really want? Was there something she was meant to do for him? Sex? Or something else. He said a compainion but could she trust him? She didn't know what to believe.
"Okay. Well, as I'm sure you noticed, there's no one here. No one at all. The house is even sort of isolated so I don't really have neighbors. So basically you're meant to be company. I'm sure you can guess why most of the other people there were being sold, which reminds me, we should do something about that dress sooner or later..." he briefly paused; "I guess the long and the short of it is there's no one here and, generally speaking, people aren't to be trusted. I have a few secrets here I'd just rather keep." He shifted on the couch to get more comfortable. "So, tell me about yourself, what do you like to do, what's your favorite kind of movie, all that."
"No there isn't and I am sorry your lonely." She said looking down and then at him. "I feel bad for the other girls." She said looking at him. As she moved her one leg over to the other she looked at him. It was all she could do. She smiled at him when he asked her about talking about herself. "Umm my name is Mia Lorenzo. I was born to my parents who really never cared about me and so this isn't all bad its just certain aspects I was scared about." She said looking down.

"Well, my name is Damien Sombre. My family and I are originally from France where my father had owned a few businesses until we moved here to avoid certain.. circumstances and he just sort of retired. When he and my mother passed away they left me a fair amount of money and I started trying to invest it and well," he gestured to the room around them. "I just sort of invest my money wherever, I've put some into car companies, gaming companies, technology, stuff like that." He stood up and walked over to the TV and opened the cabinet showing off an impressive collection of movies. "As for what I like to do I love horror movies, I read books, I play a few games, and that's really just about it."
"Nice to meet you Damien." She said smiling towards him. Looking around as he spoke. Her eyes landing on the different things. Interested in the conversation enjoying it all very much she smiled at him. "Horror movies are fun. Espically when you jump." She said looking at him with a smile. "I play a few games also." She said looking into his eyes. They were beautiful but she needed to shake it off. "France is it nice?"
"France? Yes, it's very nice; the weather is agreeable, the culture is great, the food is great. I spent a large portion of my time in the cities with all the parisian cafes," Damien trailed off momentarily, reminiscing in the memories of his early life. "Life in France is slower paced than life here. Don't get me wrong, it still has a few downsides but it's still great." "Mia, have you ever travelled to another country?"
Mia looked at him. Listening to him speak about France was lovely. Since her youth she was always good at imagining things in her head fairly well. It was what she did in her spare time. Listening him to continue she pictured the streets and so on. It was lovely and she loved the idea of France turning to him as he asked her a question she shook her head. "No unfortunatly not. But I would love to one day." She said with a smile towards him.

He smiled back at her, "We could do that sometime in the future. I'm thinking places like Iceland, Japan, Norway, places like that. It's wherever you would want though. To be honest, part of the whole Japan thing is just I have a weird addiction to sushi." He walked over and sat next to her. "I honestly hope you'll be happy here. By the way, you never answered my question earlier, what do you like to do?"
She smiled at him. Her nervous system went through the roof as he sat beside her. "Japan would be fun. Sushi never had it really." She said looking at him with a smile as he spoke about the different cultures and then as he asked her again things she liked to do. She didn't know really how to respond. She never had a certain thing she liked to do. "I really don't know. I read a lot and be by myself doing things here and there. You wanted a compainion best choice I don't think me." She said with a bit of a laugh at the thought of it all really.
