That one guy who's always a dreamer
History: Nathaniel - or Nate - is an only child. His parents run a graphic design and photography business out of their home. However, their son prefers to express himself thought a different mode of creativity. Namely - the flute.
He first began studying the instrument at the age of thirteen, from the Fallowins’ next-door neighbour. A sweet girl and his age, too, but nothing ever came of that relationship other than the flute lessons. A couple weeks into the basics, Nate bought his own flute and began the process of self-teaching. His neighbour moved away six months later.
Nate has taken part in several small, local competitions and is recognized to have just a slightly above average level of skill. He is particularly gifted at playing by ear, and can perform dozens of popular songs upon request.
He still keeps his original flute with him, along with the one given to him by the Academy; the one that contains the spirit Kalama, his battle partner. Nate has something of an obsession with wandering spirits, and believes that they could have a much better life within a Music Prison, and being used in some form of public safety. (He’s a dreamer, really. Creativity and a big imagination are the main causes of this. He likes to see the big picture, and often misses the little details, unless he actually concentrates.)
Instrument of choice: Flute
Partner: Kalama
Crushes: None yet
Rivals: Carter Marriot (It’s an I-hate-you-but-we-still-get-along deal)
Spirit
Name: Kalama
Gender: Female
Appearance:

History: The spirit of a long-dead piratess, Kalama assumed a humanlike form for a long while, wandering the shoreline of the island where St. Bartlebee’s is located. (Roxas, you DID say it was on an island, right?). After twenty years, she finally venured inland, only to terrorize the island’s population with her ghostly appearance. At last, she was sealed into her Music Prison. She is, however, deaf, and as such can only be controlled through Nate’s manipulation of the flute.
She has a strong dislike of most people upon first meeting them, and depending on their initial reaction, she will either warm up to them or continue to be rather hostile.
Powers: She has the ability to control water. As Nate plays, the vibrations moving through the instrument differ slightly from note to note. Kalama is able to interpret those vibrations into a direction to send her attack, using it as a whip, a blade, or a form of imprisonment.
Fighting style: Kalama likes to prolong her battles, while Nate does not - he’s the one who has to watch his breathing, after all. He allows the two of them to toy with an opponent for a short amount of time, before giving the direction to finish it.
