Karl tends to be laid back and reserved. He isn't the most fervent of Nazis, he has a great love for his fatherland, and will do anything to protect it. His once great trust in the Fuhrer is quickly fading in the ruins of Stalingrad, though he keeps his doubts to himself. His original mis-trust for Communists has grown into a burning hatred for them. He views them as being a plague that must be cleansed from this earth.

As an enlisted man, Karl served in the invasion of France. After the French Campaign, he was accepted into officer school. He was commisioned as a Leutnant just prior to the invasion of Russia. He was recieved the Iron Cross Second Class for actions during the invasion. Wounded on the road to Moscow, Karl spent the Winter of 41-42 recovering. He took his current position just prior to the spring 1942 offensives, being commissioned an Oberleutnant at the same time.
Prior to the war, Karl's history wasn't unlike many of his countryman. His families suffered under the conditions of Post WWI Germany. While not fervent Nazis, his family was quick to support Hitler's rise to power for the hope of a better future.
