It is a time of petty conflict, of small wars and small empires. Any sense of unity and collective died over a century ago with the collapse of the Galactic Triumvirate. The differing ideals of its members could not sustain its goals of maintaining peace throughout the galaxy and so its members went their separate ways, with differing levels of peace and stability. And though the Triumvirate had failed to truly hold the galaxy together, few could truly predict truly how swiftly chaos would spread throughout the galaxy.

The Fel Empire, though certainly powerful once, was now little more than a shadow in exile. The rise of Darth Krayts Empire and its sudden collapse had left a vast power vacuum that not even the Empire could fill. Many rejected Fel rule, many more simply refused to be a slave of command and decided that they themselves should be the true masters of the galaxy. Not since the time of the Interregnum had there been so many powers vying for control, with no end in sight the galaxy was torn apart as the fires of endless and ceaseless war burned in the hearts of many. This time of war is known by one simple name: The Reborn Conflict.

Tired and exhausted of fighting in conflicts of which they had no choice, of being hounded by the very people they served the Jedi decided to remove themselves from the galactic core. Now they inhabit a large region of space under their direct control- The Jedi Protective. Located on the southern edge of the galaxy and avoiding much of the corruption that plagues the inner reaches of the galaxy the Jedi protect their lands and their people fiercely.

For over a century the Jedi have thrived, becoming once more protectors of the galaxy as the strained Jedi Order rebuilt in peace and safety. As the Order grew they also reached out into a dark galaxy, bringing the torch of light into regions that had known only dark for decades. Each Jedi knew that they were the first and last line of defence for the Protective no matter where they found themselves. And as each Master was expected to take multiple Padawan it is not rare a sight to see small bands of Jedi roaming across the galaxy together, questing against their eternal enemies in the shadows.

The Fel Empire. The Council of Moffs. The Empire of the Hand. All of them sundered and broke apart into something worse than the sum of its parts. In this, the once mighty heart of the Fel Empire resides those power hungry fools who would tear each other apart in some slip hopes of victory. Countless worlds feel the sting as different factions tear at each other daily and conflict seems to have no end in sight.

And though dozens of despots vie against each other for short sighted goals and they bring millions into their legions and draw entire worlds into a fervour not since the days of the Old Republic. In these damned reaches it is the arms dealers and the shipwrights that are the true power here. Here the trade organisations grow fat on their dealings with desperate warlords and in the Federation they use this for their own personal power. The result of the Conflict may yet be decided within the north of the galaxy, but no end is truly in sight.

The Hutts, the Mandolorians, the Bothans, the brave few who saw the Federation for the corruption that it was and departed for their lands. The east of the galaxy is bursting with the lawless and the righteous alike. Few here have any ties to the Imperial Remnants and fewer still wish to have any part of their petty conflicts, far too busy with their own to worry about any others.

Loyalties change daily in these regions and for every Jedi, Warlord or Federation Officer there are twenty upstart Force Users, Kings and Alliances to rival them. Bounty hunters are heroes and the downtrodden can find themselves commanding vast fleets with only their wits and ambition. In these wild lands anything is possible to those who have to will to grow.

When the power of Darth Krayt was broken and the Sith Lord was finally slain the power of the Sith was shattered. The remaining One Sith were scattered across the galaxy and hunted by all, even by other Sith. The Rule of Two, the Revanchists, the True Sith, the Imperial Sith, all fought shadow wars against each other.

In the end the Sith, for all their differences in which ever ancient they chose to form their creed around, were forced to retreat to a distant corner of the galaxy. It was here they could fight one another far more openly, now they only have to worry about the attention of other Sith in their quests for personal glory as they slaughter each other in droves. Ever watchful Jedi and Warlords keep their eyes on the disorganised Sith space but none see them as anything more than a shadow of a threat any more. The Sith have brought on their own doom, it is only a matter of time before they are destroyed entirely.
