Setting
She kept her senses alert as she ran, the night air cool on her skin. At last, she came to the ship. She had taken it in a training session a few days back and with all the commotion about the attacks, no one had yet noticed it was gone. Perhaps the Force was looking out for her after all.
Letting out a relieved breath, she climbed into the tiny x-wing and, with a curious sense of freedom, soared into the atmosphere.
She could feel the distress and shame of her master like a strange pulse in the back of her mind. Another Jedi had been killed today, and he held himself responsible. The Jedi should have sent more people after their rogue comrade, she thought. True, she was just a padawan, and probably wouldn't make much difference in the fight, but at least she was doing something. Unlike the council.
The thought of facing a Sith lord terrified her, but it was what she had been trained to do for all of her life. The Jedi faced problems; they didn't run from them. And more than anything else, Alea Teronniel wanted to be a Jedi.
