Its base enchant is storage
but its effect is to allow the storage of a certain attribute by draining it from a person for later use. For example by making yourself weaker for a time the heirloom would allow you to draw upon that strength later to add to your own.
Unicorns are symbols of purity, goodness and magical perfection. The every shining symbol of whatās supposed to be good in this world, Marcus canāt help but think of it as a load of dung. Marcus grew up with two older siblings who were a pair of goodā¦.unicorns. They did everything they were supposed to do and never acted out in any way, Marcus quickly turned away from that lifestyle though. Marcus was smart for his race, even smarter than many of the other races but he never really understood it. Unlike other kids he wasnāt proud of it, he didnāt see himself as smart but rather as everyone else being less so. He was never proud or over confident but he quickly became known for coming up with ways to bend and even surpass the rules. He was rebellious and bull headed with a knack for getting into trouble and doing stupid things. He was rude, crude and often disrespectful. His anger and frustration towards his family and people was based upon the amount of force they used on him, trying to make him behave. Even minor infractions such as vandalism were normally unheard of for a unicorn so punishment was swift and hard. Marcus hated the way he was, the identity that he was born with and did whatever he could to reject it.
Part of his reason for hating the unicorn world was his parents, he never got to know them and within himself he feels a sense of abandonment and loss; even going so far as to blame himself, no matter how illogical. Even with that great head of his he couldnāt help but feel as though something was either wrong with him, or wrong with the society that made it so that his parents werenāt there. They had been killed in some sort of hunting incident, they had been the prey, and no one had done anything about it.
When he got his heirloom, passed down from his grandfather to him something changed. He still rebelled but somehow his ability to punish himself allowed him to vent his emotions and frustrations, heād often walk around weak and slow as he stored up energy; even going so far as to cut himself so that he could store up his healing abilities. His hatred for what he was hadnāt waned; it had just turned into the destruction of himself instead of the world around him. He somehow say the pain and suffering he endured as a way in which to change the nature of what he was, to become something new and unusual.
Still, his family kept pushing him to conform to their idea of what they should be, and Marcus still resisted. It quickly got to the point where he was sent away from his family and to the school, they threatened that if he didnāt turn his life around by the time he graduated they would disown him.
