District 12 Female, Age 16

0 · 324 views · located in Panem

a character in “The 10th Annual Hunger Games”, originally authored by gperry88, as played by RolePlayGateway

Description

Name:
Jordyn Ellis

Age:
16

Gender:
Female

District:
12

Personality:
Jordyn is a selective mute. Though she does talk, she won't utter a word if she decides not to. Being a selective mute, Jordyn finds it hard to make friends. Not that she wants any, anyway. She is very secretive, and distrusting. But she is also very calm in emegencies and does not panic. She never cries or screams and never loses her temper.

History:
The only people Jordyn really trusts are her family. She has an older sister named Tawni (19) and a younger brother named Cam (8). She has very loving parents and they would do anything for her or her siblings. She loves her brother, and would do anything for him.

When she was about 12, her disorder led her to being the subject of bullying. After a while, she could not take it any more. She ran away into the woods outside her district, and lived there for a week before she was found. During her time in the woods, she learnt about plants and animals, and found ways to survive without man-made items. Afterwards, she read books on how to survive in the wilderness, and learnt everything she could to put more food on the table for her family.

Weapons:
Bow and arrow (District 12 specialty)

Strengths:
Very intelligent, can run fast and is very agile.

Weaknesses:
Selective mute and can't face killing another person directly.

Token:
Silver locket necklace with a picture of her and her family inside.

Appearance:
Jordyn is tall and slim, standing at 5' 7" and 120 lbs. She has brown hair which reaches just past her shoulders. She also has hazel brown eyes with feminine features. Her build is normal, if a bit on the thin side. She has a little bit of muscle, but it does not show. She has lightly tanned skin dotted with freckles on her nose.

She likes wearing singlets and t-shirts in camouflage colours. She wears pants in dark colours, and doesn't usually wear skirts as they are impractical. She doesn't really get cold, but when she does she wears a dark coloured jacket. Her favourite item of clothing is her knee-high lace up boots. She likes practical clothing, but enjoys dressing up occasionally.

Crush:
None, yet. She doesn't like falling for people because she knows she will be rejected.

So begins...

I breathed a sigh of relief, and watched as the two boys discussed something. Zach was standing slightly between me and Desmond, I didn't know if this was on purpose or not, but it relaxed me slightly. Suddenly Desmond sort of snuck away, as if he was scared he had said too much. Before he did though, I went and tapped him on the shoulder.

"I-if you ever want an, um, ally, we're h-here." I said before running back to Zach.

"Ok, so you're going to practice with the swords? I think I'll do a bit of knife work." I stated, starting towards the knife throwing station.

"Ok, so you're going to practice with the swords? I think I'll do a bit of knife work."

Jordyn spoke as she returned from speaking something Zach didn't quite make out to Desmond. He nodded and stretched his arms. "Yes, I'll be there for most of my time today, so it shouldn't be too hard to find me." he spoke and then walked off.

Once at the station, he picked up a blade and held it in one hand. The weight was a little more than he expected, but he was sure by the end of today he'd be able to hold and swing it decently. With a few slashes at a dummy, he began his workout and started trying out different ways to not only attack, but defend from attacks as well. I mean, what good's an attack if you die before you can use it?

Zach told me he would practice with the sword for most of the day, so I went to practice my knife throwing skills. I was definitely getting better. Not perfect, but it would do as a second choice weapon. I threw a knife at a dummy, hitting it in the stomach. As I turned to get another knife, Desmond crashed into me.

"I'm sorry, I should look in front of me, not down....sorry" he apologized.

"Oh, n-no it's fine." I said. "A-are you good with, um, knifes?" I asked.

After a while of improving his swordsmanship, Zach decided to take a break and began idly scanning the room with his eyes. Around this time, he noticed Jordyn and Desmond together, and promptly went over, worried that something might happen. She wasn't known for her social skills, he'd wager. But that was fine, he'd just look out for her more.

"So, what's going on?" he asked casually as he neared them. He wasn't sure if something bad had happened, but he didn't want to sound aggressive unless need be.

"Ok?...."

He turned to Jordyn and smiled. "So, I noticed you're getting better. Can actually hit the target now. Good." he then looked at her with a serious face. "Did he try something? To intimidate you? I've heard of people doing that in the previous games...."

"Umm, yeah, pretty good. Though i'm better with sword and bo... Forget what I just said, thats supposed to be secret." he said.

I had a feeling he didn't mean to say that. When Zach came over and asked what was going on, he walked away to the spear throwing station.

"So, I noticed you're getting better. Can actually hit the target now. Good." he then looked at her with a serious face. "Did he try something? To intimidate you? I've heard of people doing that in the previous games...."

I gave him a smile.

"Don't worry, it's ok. He just let slip something he wasn't meant to say, that's all." I said. "Thank you for caring though." I added.

I hesitated for a moment, then reached up to kiss him on the cheek. Then I ran off, blushing, to try my hand at the swords again.

"Don't worry, it's ok. He just let slip something he wasn't meant to say, that's all." She said. "Thank you for caring though."

"Well, Ok. Just make sure to te-"

She gifted him with a small peck on his cheek, effectively shuttting him up and causing a blush to appear over his face. As she ran off, he tried to speak up again, but that didn't happen; he was... speechless? Even a small peck like that was new to him. It then donned on him that it was regretful... he would die like that. "Ah well..." he thought. He'd at least save Jordyn.

He decided to hit up the survival zone so as to avoid Jordyn. For the moment, he'd probably just blush if they struck up conversation.

After running off, I watched as Zach began to tackle the survivial zone. I would probably get to that later. I began to practice my sword fighting again with the instructor. I was getting a little better, I was able to defend and do some basic moves. Suddenly, I heard the THUMP of someone hitting the floor. I whipped around to find Desmond lying on the floor, clutching his foot. A spear tipped with blood was lying beside him. It didn't take me long to figure out what had happened. I ran over and leant down over him.

"W-would you mind if I had a l-look?" I asked, not waiting for an answer.

I knew for a fact that tributes were left to fend for themselves, even in training. I couldn't just leave him there. Blood was pooling around his foot, but I didn't mind. After running quickly around to collect materials, I dressed his wound and put some medicine on it.

"S-sorry, you might need to fix it l-later. I-it shouldn't hurt n-now though." I said.
