Skylark Barton

The daughter of Hawkeye and Black Widow

0 · 874 views · located in United States

a character in “The Avengers 2.0”, as played by RiotTerritory

Description

Image
Lark stands at only about 5’ and weighs about 98 lb. Her hair is a dark brown and her eyes are an icy blue which no one really knows who she inherited either of them from. She has four long scars running down her back [see history], and a tattoo of a hawk on her hip which she did not get legally. You will always find her wearing carefully planned outfits including makeup, hair, and clothing. She absolutely hates when anyone sees her before she is ready.

NAME: Skylark Barton

NICKNAME(S): Lark

CODENAME: Feather

AGE: 17

GENDER: Female

PARENTS: Clint Barton (Hawkeye) and Natasha Romanoff (Black Widow)

HEROWARE: She wears a brown leather jacket over a tight black tank top, black spandex pants that are laced in the back, and knee high, brown boots. She also usually carries a pistol on one thigh, a dagger on the other, and her quiver of silver arrows at her back that her father made for her.

WEAPON: Silverspeed. It is a silver bow and arrows with intricate golden designs that Lark’s father built for her. As her father’s arrows, Lark’s arrows each have a special ability and Lark knows each of them simply by the feel of their feathers. She also carries dagger on one thigh and a pistol on the other.

PERSONALITY: Lark is not a stupid girl. In fact, she is actually very intelligent. The only problem is that she never actually wants to work at all. Most of the time she is sleeping, hanging out with her friends, or practicing archery. To add to this, the work that she has to do, she’ll make someone else do it (usually a man). Lark also has a very dry sense of humor which she seems to have inherited from her father. She is very easygoing unless she wants something from you. Perhaps the only time she ever gets worked-up is when she is angry.

POWER/SPECIAL ABILITIES: Her father taught her each and every trick she would ever need to know about archery, while her mother taught her everything from espionage and seducing men to shooting pistols with perfect accuracy. Other than being highly trained, Lark is just a normal human being.

OTHER SKILLS: Cooking, taking things apart and putting them back together, gymnastics

LIKES: Archery, food, beauty (makeup, clothing, jewelry, hair, etc.), art, gymnastics

DISLIKES: Work, bugs, playing nice, dirt

CRUSH: TBA

HISTORY: From the day Lark was born, she loved both her parents as much as a daughter could. Even though she always got along better with her dad, she still loved her mother very much. As her personality emerged, it was speculated by many that she was the exact opposite of both her parents. Where they were both quiet and hardworking, Lark was laidback and loudmouthed. However, the one thing that she did inherit from her mother was her seductive behavior, and from her father she got his sarcastic attitude.

Many of her early days involved going to the rooftops and shooting or simply watching and observing the people down below with her father, or walking around town and watching how her mother could get anyone to do anything for her. Many times, Lark would be left alone when her parents were called out, but she never minded. It just meant that she could go out and spend more time with her friends from school, or she could stay home and cook or practice archery.

One case in particular that the Avengers were called in about two years ago, Lark remembers sitting at home cooking pasta for herself when she heard a huge crash at the front door. When she went to see what it was, she saw her parents fending off a large alien-like creature and they didn’t seem to be winning. Without thinking, Lark grabbed her bow and arrows and shot an arrow tipped with a strong sedative into the creature’s head. The alien reared back and as Lark attempted to run away, the creature’s long claws raked down her back. She passed out after that, but she was told that she was saved by Iron Man. She still has the four long scars that run down her back.

So begins...

((Hey, this is my first RP where it's required to at least have a paragraph. I'm used to one or two sentences. :D))

After hearing the mission, Zach was satisfied. In fact, he was moreso satisfied that the son of Thor was in a tad bit better moon than he previously was. Fighting amongst allies was one of the things Zach just found out he hated. Guess it's the father in him.

"So, let's get this straight. First time meeting each other and we're being dropped off in the middle of nowhere to break into a top secret form Nazi base and gather weapons of mass destruction and bring them back here?" the daughter of Black Widow and Hawkeye made sure she got that right.

"Yeah, that about sums it up." he commented.

"Then I guess you know what you're doing." Lively stated.

"I assume we'll be leaving sometime today? I'd rather not delay if possible." he sighed. "All this talk about fighting and no fights to be had is really boring."

Valentina listened as Zach introduced himself as a bad-ass and immediately laughed, obviously amused by his arrogance. She had not met someone who had introduced themselves as a bad ass before, mostly because if they truly deserved the name they wouldn’t say it out loud. She cast Lark an approving smile at the cutting remark she shot in Zach’s direction but said nothing herself. There was little point in berating the man further, though she knew her father would have. Thankfully she had gotten some of her mother’s sense to balance out the vast amount of her father’s characteristics that she possessed.

"Look, quite honestly I don't care if you hate each others' guts, but right now we have a situation on our hands that we thought six children of superheroes could handle without killing each other. Maybe we were wrong." Lively paused a moment, sighed, and then continued, "How 'bout this. You six do this one mission and save and afterward I give you full permission to beat each other to a pulp."

“Count me out of that last part. I have better things to do than sit around and watch you boys wrestle.” Valentina commented, sea-foam colored eyes looking over at the three men cooly. It was obvious that the majority of the group was getting seriously agitated by the situation and lack of direction of the meeting, but Val was finding it quite amusing to see everyone interact. The most irritated person of the group, without a doubt, was Braego. She noticed the color rising in his face and knew that he was going to snap. In precaution she traced her finger in a circle on her exposed chest, right in the center. It was there that the electromagnet was implanted, but she had developed a small holographic screen on it that would cover it and make it appear as though nothing was there. She was not embarrassed of it, but sometimes she liked other parts of her upper body to be the center of attention. Another thing that she had added to the cybernetic technology was a honing system, so that when she traced the circumference of the magnet and then pressed down at the center of it her suit would be called to her. It was similar to the way that Captain America and his son could recall their weapons. She obviously couldn’t carry the suit around with her at all times, which was another reason for developing a newer suit.

"I've had enough of your disingenuous assumptions Ms. Lively. We gathered here are the heirs to your mightiest heroes yet you speak to us like common rabble. When this day is done you shall see our might… You've assembled us all here this day to fight the battle you are too weak fight on your own. Now stand aside and let us save your realm."

Valentina listened to him speak and, for the first time in quite some time, was actually silent not out of choice but out of shock. The man certainly was passionate, she would give him that much, and undeniably sexy in an ‘I-control-the-lightning-and-can-crush-you-to-a-pulp-with-my-toe’ sort of way. Yet his thirst for battle still irritated her and reminded her of a bull, blind with rage.

"Is the valiant warrior getting impatient?" Jordan asked mockingly.

Valentina watched closely to what happened next, finger tips resting on the electromagnet in case she needed to get her suit quickly. If a Hulk and Demi-God wanted to fight things were going to get rough fast. Braego surprised her, however, and managed to hold his temper in part due to the nervous guards surrounding the room. He took off, his sister following, and Val lowered her hand and rolled her eyes, “It’s like high school all over again. Do they never get tired of it?” She muttered in annoyance, referring to a man’s need to constantly be better than anyone around them and pick fights to become the dominant one.

Finally the brother and sister returned and then the golden boy gave a little heart-warming speech. Braego seemed to enjoy it, saying he would ‘drink to it’, and she looked at him as he leaned against the wall sizing everyone up. He stared at her for a moment, expression slightly curious and unimpressed, and she felt the first sting of irritation of the meeting. It was obvious he thought she was a liability, but she could not wait to prove him wrong.

Lark looked around the room at everyone, seeing that she and Stark were the only two still sitting down. Lark raised an eyebrow over at Stark, but didn't say anything, silently passing a sarcastic joke over to her.

Val caught the smile and chuckled to herself, liking the girl more which was rare for the brunette, but then looked up to the front as Lively explained the mission. As the others spoke, Val considered the information that was given to them and spoke up after a moment, “What about the designs, calculations, and formulas for the weapons?” She questioned, one brow raised in suspicion, “Do you want me to get all that from the computers as well or are you simply looking to get a handful of useful and ready to use weapons?” The young woman asked, pushing her chair up and standing. Her long dark hair tumbled over her shoulders as she faced Lively and Fury, “If we just take the weapons they can make more. I can get into their data base and wipe it clean. They won’t be able to even play solitaire after I’m done. “

"They won't be able to even play solitaire after I'm done."

"Pssh! Solitaire? Who plays that? All about Minecraft." Zach commented. When it came to video games, Zach didn't play games on the computer much, but the one game he did play was the one he voiced. He took a seat across from both the ladies. Something Zach had picked up from his mother was how to read faces. His mother was an ex-detective and reading faces was something she was good at. When he looked upon both of the women seated, he could tell both of them were not what he wanted.

His eyes first passed over on Skylarke, who without his face-reading skills would be able to read. Not because her face gave way to her emotions or something like that. No, her mother was known for her 'seductive skills'. This of course was Zach's weakness, one he knew of but couldn't do anything about yet. As such, any non-mission related chat was to be kept to a minimal. He could tell that if she wanted anything from him, she wouldn't hesitate to use her inherited skills.

When his eyes turned towards the Stark, he realized that he didn't even need the skills to read her in terms of personality. It was no secret that Iron Brod liked to have dance offs with her pants off, and while at the moment, he didn't have anything important she didn't already know, he may later and he found himself figuring the same thing as the little widow.

Of course, this all took place within about a second. For some reason, he had put more thought into which seat he should take than he did in what clothes he should wear and what food he ate for breakfast. And so, he took his seat and promptly let out a sarcastic laugh.

"I think me and at least one other person -or god- can agree that we should get a move on. I know for a fact that you-" he looked into Valentina's eyes. "-have a communication device in your handy dandy suit, so any other information you need can be given while we're on our way."

"Then lets make haste then. We won't be able to talk the enemies of Midgard to death."

Braego said in response to Zach's words. As if on cue the doors to the room were pushed open and two S.H.I.E.L.D agents entered the room. One addressed the group with a calm and almost stoic tone.

"Right this way. You will be leaving via hangar bay D where we have a fully stocked armory for those of you that need it. For those that don't your individual equipment is waiting for you."

Braego cast a quick glance to his sister before looking up at the agent.

"Very well, lead on."

He realized he had taken a few steps without the team before he paused and turned around. Their eyes upon him Braego looked at each and every one of them until his gaze fell on Valentina. His eyes locking within the crystaline hue of her own. He had been studying her and he knew she had been doing the same. Her ingenious mind seemingly ever in motion. Finally he gave voice to his minds concerns. He wondered how'd she do in a fight. Now was the time to find out. A smirk etched its way onto his face before he spoke.

"You coming?"

((OOC: Grrrr I think I'm too slow for you guys (:...))

Lively nodded to Stark and said strictly, with a hint of knowing in her voice, "You stop those machines by any means necessary." Lark raised an eyebrow again, but didn't say anything, realizing that Stark could probably shut down every computer in the world if she wanted to.

Lark stood up as well, although she was a bit slower than the rest, almost wishing she had stayed in bed. Lark yawned, stretched, and slung her brown leather jacket one. She quickly unzipped her duffel, strapped her knife and gun onto her thighs and slung her quiver of arrows onto her back. She snatched her folded silver bow out of the duffel and then headed out the door after the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, Lively, and Fury. The 'team' walked down the hall before coming to a large enclosed garage of sorts. Inside were two rather large helicarriers and Lark gave the one closest to them a curious look before looking back at Lively who was in front of them. Out of the corner of her eye, Lark saw Fury dissappear out one of the side doors, most likely going to do something top secret.

Lively began to talk and Lark had to tear her gaze away from the giant helicarrier to listen in on what Lively was saying. "Remember, any means necessary." And with that, Lively was walking to the other side of the carrier to most likely sit up in the front with the pilots, and the six teenagers were being herded into the helicarrier by a few S.H.I.E.L.D. agents dressed in black. Lark complied and walked slowly up the ramp and into the carrier. Inside, there were enough benches to most likely fit half of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Lark silently wondered what they normally used these things for.

Lark sat on one of the benches and looked around the helicarrier at the team. There was no doubt in her mind that she was probably one of the weaker ones physically of the team, but she had absolutely no problem with that. Her parents had been the exact same way, simply very skilled assassins, and yet they could kill any man with their bare hands. Lark gave herself a satisfied smile and began to play with her silver bow.

Braego, along with the others, was led into the belly of one of the massive S.H.I.E.L.D helicarriers. While the others prepped for the battle soon to be Braego merely took a seat and waited. He had all he needed. The bane of Jotunheim was firmly in his grasp. Beyond that he his had the strength of his own two hands and the gifts granted to him by his Asgardian bloodline. As he'd said to his mother back on Asgard, there were few threats Midgard could muster that gave him pause. The son of Thor watched Skylark ready her bow as the others prepared in their own ways. Braego closed his eyes and tried to find a calm before the storm. This form of Battle Meditation was a technique taught to him by his mother, the Goddess of War. She had said that there was a time for fury and rage and there was a time for concentration and stillness. She had warned many times, drilling into the boy during his youth not to allow his lust for battle to consume him in a fight. It would make him reckless and predictable. Instead she wished him to use his rage like a weapon to be sheathed and unsheathed as needed. To release the storm and rain terror upon his opponents but not to do so carelessly. To use precision and patience when the time was right, to wait for the perfect time to pounce. Learning to quiet your heart and spirit before a fight was a great way to still yourself and connect your mind and body before battle. Braego fell into a solemn silence as he concentrated on finding that eye of the storm where peace could be found before unshackling the fury of his tempest heart.

"Pssh! Solitaire? Who plays that? All about Minecraft." Zach commented.

She looked over at him, dark brows raised slightly, “Minecraft?” She said incredulously, trying to decide whether or not he was being serious. Something told her that he was serious, though, and she supposed he had to have some hobby if he wasn’t doing much else. What information she could find about him seemed to suggest he wasn’t keen on helping save the world like his father. She guessed he was too busy playing videogames.

"I think me and at least one other person -or god- can agree that we should get a move on. I know for a fact that you-" he looked into Valentina's eyes. "-have a communication device in your handy dandy suit, so any other information you need can be given while we're on our way."

“I do? And to think I thought I was simply hearing voices. That makes much more sense.” Val said jokingly, standing up and ready to get going. She knew all she needed to about the mission and could find out more during the flight if she needed. Looks like Chad would have to be a little lonely tonight because it didn’t seem likely that she would be back in Seattle anytime soon.

Finally things began to get interesting as the doors opened and S.H.I.E.L.D. agents lead filled them in on what would be happening next. She heard that her suit would be on the ship, unconsciously grazing the electromagnet with the tips of her fingers, and nodded, “Good.” She said simply. As useful as her brain was to this mission, she wouldn’t be any use in battle without the suit.

"You coming?"

She was already walking when Braego had spoken and so she cast him a look over her shoulder, full lips pulled into a confident grin, “Of course. I wouldn’t miss this for anything. Besides, I’d like to see your face when you see what I can do.” She said boldly, turning back around with a flash of long dark hair and strolled after the others.

Within a few minutes they were boarding the helicarrier, which Val though was far too massive for this particular mission. Instead of voicing those thoughts, however, her keen eyes quickly searched for the case containing her suit. She spotted it a yard away and quickly made her way over to it, heels clicking loudly on the metal floor. It was a black metal suit case, a few inches thick than a business man’s brief case, and had a screen on top that required her identification to open. Through new advances in technology she had been able to get the suit into the tiny box and significantly reduce it's weight while inside of it. With her new design it would be even smaller.

“Miss Stark, you’ll need to sit down.” An agent said, walking up to her and gesturing to the back of the large ship where the others were taking their seats.

She turned, case in hand, and gave him a small flirtatious smile, “Look, handsome, I need to beat some bad guys to a pulp in a very tight fitting iron suit quite soon. Do you think that is going to be very easy when I’m dressed like this?” Valentina asked, gesturing to her long bare legs, heels, and short skirt. There was no way she could get into the suit dressed like this and she had a feeling that stripping down to her underwear infront of her team would not be the best idea after first meeting them. Maybe on the second mission.

The man flushed slightly, clearing his throat and looking away, “Uh, yes, well if you’d like to change you need to do it quickly. There is a small artillery room just over there that you could use.” He suggested, avoiding her unabashed gaze.

“Perfect.” She said brightly and turned on the spot, walking quickly towards the room. Val opened the door, stepped inside with her case, and then pulled it shut tightly behind her. The walls were covered with various weapons but she didn’t have time to consider them. She needed to get changed before the helicarrier took off.

Val pressed one hand on her chest over the electromagnet and placed her other hand on the screen on the top of the case which immediately opened at her touch. Inside was her suit, a curious mass of gold and red that would assemble itself on her body at the touch of her cybernetic technology, and on the lid of the case was folded a black body suit and boots she had designed specifically to wear with the suit. Though the suit would work if she wore normal clothing, it worked far better with the thinnest amount of clothing possible so that the suit could respond through her nerves. It was extremely advanced and her father had been quite impressed with the design.

Wasting no more time she stripped down, folding the clothing and putting it back inside the flap in the case, and pulled on the skin tight body suit and boots. When finished she shut the case, tossing her voluminous dark hair over her shoulder, and walked back out of the room with a smooth confident stride. After a moment she was back with her team (what an odd idea) and placed the case on the floor next to her. She chose the seat next to Lark who was playing with a stunning silver bow.

"Alright, let's get this show on the road." Valentina said, more to herself than to anyone else, and crossed her long legs while relaxing back into the seat waiting for the helicarrier to take off.

Zach had been looking through a metal box with all of his equipment (Save for his sword) in it. He checked thrice to make sure it had everything. Gloves, check. Helmet, Check. Pants, check. Suit, check. Shield?...check. He was good. His sword was propped up next to the box. He grinned as he saw everything was there.

"Now, where to change?..." he mumbled to himself. He looked surveyed the room for a few seconds before his question was answered.

“Uh, yes, well if you’d like to change you need to do it quickly. There is a small artillery room just over there that you could use.” He suggested, avoiding her unabashed gaze.

It appeared that Stark was to change first. So, he began fiddling around with his gear for a bit. He started by checking to make sure his shield and sword's magnetic devices worked. They did, but that was to be expected by something made by a Stark. Can't say they aren't useful, can't say that at all. After that was finished, he began swinging Peacemaker (Far enough from everybody of course) in different ways. This stretched his arms a bit for the upcoming battle. His swings weren't that of a novice in the art of swordsmanship. No, it was that of someone who had learned it for longer than he had-a master. Zach had always learned things rather quickly, something he attributed to his powers.

After a couple of minutes, Stark entered the room in a rather appetizing outfit. Zach's eyes were locked onto her mores than they usually were, and the apparel she had on didn't help him avert them. When she went and sat next to Lark, Thorson commented on her outfit. To Zach, it sounded flirtatious in some way. Strangely, this subtely upset the Zach, but he didn't let it show. If he did, it'd probably make himself look like an ass. It wasn't like Stark shared any interest in him. In fact, she probably only had interest in her mother and father. But, at least that was something.

He wasted no time getting dressed in the artillery room, which was filled with a plethora of weapons, most of which, were prototypes which weren't available to even the military. Only a couple minutes passed and he was good to go. He stepped out of the room and back into the one filled with his new allies.

"So, how do I look?" he asked his comrades. It was actually his first time wearing it, and it fit perfectly. He decided to have a Kevlar Vest under it, in case a bullet managed to reach him. He wasn't concerned about it, but there was always the chance, and he wasn't Thor or Iron Man.

The helicarrier soared in the sky on its way to the groups destination. The sun had long since set granting the unit the cover of darkness for the mission ahead. The remainder of the flight was uneventful as the team waited for news that they were close. Their patience payed off when the intercom sprang to life letting loose an announcment telling the team what they wanted to hear.

ETA TEN MINUETS. GROUND TEAM PREP FOR DEPARTURE.

Braego's eyes shot open from his silent mediation. His hand gripping the Bane of Jotunheim with vigor as he rose to his feet.

"Finally."

He said aloud.

((OOC: I'm off again for most of the day guys... Sorry, but I should be back on later tonight ... Maybe. Sorry ): ))

Lark looked over at Stark and almost chuckled to herself. The girl looked nearly outrageous in that skin-tight suit. Lark suppressed the chuckle and just smiled, shaking her head as Braego struck up a conversation with her. Lark had to admit that only a girl as cocky as Stark could pull that off though. Lark slung the quiver of specially made arrows off her back and onto her lap. She silently began to check each one, making sure that every one of them was ready and in their place. She had long ago learned the texture of each and every arrow in that quiver by heart and could tell you what each did with a blindfold on.

Content with the fact that each arrow was perfect, Lark leaned over and put her elbows to her knees. She looked over at Stark who seemed to have stopped her conversation with Braego and gave Stark her trademark crooked grin. "So, you got a suit like your dad, eh?" Lark asked, not meaning to sound sarcastic at all. She had always admired Iron Man's suit. It had been what had saved her life.

Lark touched the base of her neck where the four long scars that extended down her back ended. She quickly pulled her hand away and rested her elbows on her knees again. Any reminder of what happened that day was a bad one and with Lark's attitude and outlook on life, she never really wanted bad memories to pop up at all.

"The music of your warsong will have to wait Rogers. We have arrived it seems."

Braego stated as he looked out of the window. Down below in the darkness the massive facility that sevred as one of HYDRA's primary bases of operation stood. Smoke billowing out of its enormous factory distric while the entire complex was so much more. Expansive research and development wings where HYDRA designed and tested new and terryfing weapons of war. Training quarters where the foot soldiers of HYDRA were hardened and forged into ruthless killing machines. The son of Thor looked down at the whole of the complex with a glare. By days end he and his allies would wipe the abomination off the face of the Earth. Braego turned and gave Zach a firm nod as one warrior to another.

"Your father led mine into battle Zachary, in honor of that freindship I shall follow you into the fray. Lead on, and our enemies will fall before us."

No sooner had Braego finished speaking had the bay doors opened casting the entire cargo hold into a shuttering red light as the bay door lights flashed. Wind filled the interior of the hold forcing those who would speak to shout over the roar of the air. One S.H.I.L.E.D agent did just that, adressing the team.

"Drops in 60 seconds! Get ready to move Avengers!"

“This is what I’m wearing into battle.” Valentina said with a coy smile at the group, eyes locked on Braego as she referred to his comment earlier.

Zach watched as Stark's suit pieced itself together at an extremely quick speed. "I'll have to order something like that." he laughed. "My suit's more for looks than it is for kicking ass." He wasn't kidding either. He didn't want another Iron Man suit, no, he wanted something that could help him stay alive. Full body suits weren't his thing anyways. Maybe after this mission he could see if they'd get him something that could at least help him fly. Boots maybe? Wouldn't hurt.

"Hey guys, maybe this is just the sneaky inner assassin blood talkin', but maybe instead of just blowing things up, we sneak in there, Stark gets all that crap off their computers that we were told to get, and then we blow stuff up" Lark looked around.

"Hmm... I know what we should do." he started. "The two gods, and Hulkster can be a distraction..." he looked over at Braego. "Because as much as I'd like to whoop some ass with this god right here...I'm afraid I might steal all his thunder." he joked. "Lark, Stark and I can sneak around the other side of the base and destroy whatever they've got in terms of plans and whatnot on their computers." he looked back around to the others. "Just throwing it out there..."

Braego arched an eyebrow as he watched the astonishing display as Valentina's suit afixed itself to her body on it's own. Only by the mystical hands of the wizards of Asgard had Braego ever seen anything so amazing. Once her armor was in place the Iron Maiden gave the son of Thor a mischievous look as she casually held her helmet under her arm.

“This is what I’m wearing into battle.”

Braego took a step toward her. The bigger man standing taller even then the long legged beauty. With but only a few inches between them the air between them was heavy with unspoken flirtations and silent challenges. Braego's eyes drifted down her frame before rising to meet and lock with her eyes.

"Hmm.... Impressive. If your magic suit holds you may not need me to save you after all."

He said with only a hint of a wry smile. Valentina's gaze was unflinching and met his boldly. She was different than any of those constantly giggling lady's of Asgard when speaking to Braego. At his home while primarily known for his skill as a warrior Braego did have something of a reputation as a philanderer. The damsels would quake at the knees at the sight of the handsome young warrior all ablaze with the glory of battle and would need little more than a quick smile or a word to throw themselves at the prince of Asgard. Braego was usually too preoccupied with his martial training to be chasing women but he would indulge himself from time to time yet here he found himself incapable of turning away from the radiant Ms. Stark. Luckily Zach's voice brought him back to the task at hand. Braego turned to look at Rogers as he spoke.

Hmm...

Braego stepped forward with his fist tightly clenching around his weapon.

"My sister and I can divert the forces inside on our own. Leave the beast."

He said with blatant distaste for the young Banner. Then a half smile appeared on Braego's face as he took a step towards Zach.

"As for stealing my thunder..."

Lightning began to crackle around the Bane Jotunheim accenting the demigods words.

"...I'd like to see you try friend."

With that Braego rocketed off into the sky towards the complex ahead of them. Knowing his sister would arrive in seconds he did not wait for her and with a roar hurled his hammer at the front gates. The weapon sailed through the air and battered down the massive metal gates without slowing. It continued on to create a massive gaping hole in the side of the building before returning to Breago's hand. Countless sirens and alarms went off within the facility followed by a torrent of troops and mechanized war machines that flooded out of the base to meet the new threat. Braego only watched with a dark smile fixed on his face.

"Good...Send all you can muster for there are none that can stand against the might of the Son of Thor!"

Lark shook her head slightly but couldn't help the astonished smile as Braego took off with lightning crackling around him. "Alright, I guess we're going with his plan," Lark said pointedly. See as Braego had completely dismissed Banner, Lark looked over at him. "Banner, you're with Braego and Freya. I don't really care what that brash asshole says, you're good with distractions." Lark looked back at Zach who seemed to have trouble with the jetpack and was now lying in a heap on the ground. She nudged him slightly with her big toe and laughed. "C'mon, Mr. Stars-N'-Stripes, we gotta go." With that, she looked around at the remaining team and then specifically to Stark and Zach. "Alright, I'd say the roof is safest. From my experience, usually the least amount of guards. We can get in through one of those doors." Lark gave them all another crooked grin and then looked at Zach with a little chuckle. "Looks like I ain't usin' one of those," Lark said before looking back to the roof top of the building.

Lark reached behind her to her quiver of arrows and took two of the normal ones. With expert precision, she shot the two guards that she could see on the roof and grinned to herself as they fell. Lark reached behind her once more, took an arrow, and shot it at the roof right in between where the two guards had landed. However, half of the arrow stayed with Lark, leaving a long cord between the two halves. Lark grinned widely to herself. This had to be one of her favorite arrows. With one last took behind her to Zach and Stark, she yelled, "What're ya waitin' for?" with a mischievous grin, and pressing the button on her half of the arrow. Almost instantly, she had taken off and was headed for the HYDRA complex.

The cord on the arrow stopped a bit short which allowed Lark to land silently on the side of the complex. Lark began to scale the side of the building as she had done so many times before. She made it to the top and quickly pulled the two arrows from the guards and one from the ground and pushed a button on the third one. The remaining cord whizzed up the side of the building and then snapped back into the other half of the arrow. Placing the arrows back in her quiver, Lark looked around at the unsuspecting guards who were still turned away from her and then turned silently around to look back at Stark and Zach, willing them with her eyes to get over there. She could maybe take these guards out on her own, but where would the fun in that be?

"C'mon, Mr. Stars-N'-Stripes, we gotta go." With that, she looked around at the remaining team and then specifically to Stark and Zach.

"Yeah, don't worry about me, I'm fine." he grunted as he pushed off the ground. Besides dusting up his suit, that fall didn't do much. He watched as Lark killed a couple of guards and shot an arrow, which produced a cable of some sort in which she was to use to get over there.

"What're ya waitin' for?" with a mischievous grin, and pressing the button on her half of the arrow. Almost instantly, she had taken off and was headed for the H.Y.D.R.A complex.

"Guess she didn't need this..." he looked down at his jetpack. "Lets give this another shot, shall we?" he pressed a larger button on the throttle of the machine and in lifted him off the ground, slowly. With caution, he pushed the stick forward, causing him to go straight in front of him.

After a minute, he was now reletivaly good with the machine. He did learn things quickly.

Placing the arrows back in her quiver, Lark looked around at the unsuspecting guards who were still turned away from her and then turned silently around to look back at Stark and Zach, willing them with her eyes to get over there.

Zach began approaching the base with haste. He drew his sword and readied it. He was moderately surprised that the jetpack was as silent as it was, but that didn't faze him. Before the few guards noticed what was approaching them, they were cut down by a few swift strokes from Peacemaker.

Making another round, he landed on the roof. "Is that all of them here?" he laughed.

Zach, who had noticed all the 'fun' that the two otherworlder's were having, regretted his 'safer' choice in taking a less guarded approach.

"Oh well", he muttered as multiple flashes of lightning destroyed the ranks of their enemies. He turned towards Lark. "So, we going?" he walked up to the door that led into the facility and promptly kicked it in. He was surprised at the ease in which he kicked the door open. Must be his strength, because personally, he had never kicked a door down before.

A guard at the end of the room turned at the noise of his intrusion and opened fire. Zach blocked with his shield, which definetly wouldn't break under fire from such a weak weapon. Ironically, he was using an old MP40, which didn't even cause Zach to recoil. Instead, he walked forward, bullets ricocheting bullets in many directions. When he reached the soldier, who was desperately trying to reload. The doomed soldier recieved a shield bash, killing him instantly, much to Zach's surprise. He forgot how hard he could hit, and was hoping to kill him with his sword, but there were others....

"This room is clear, come on, fair maidens!" he took up an older english accent as he shouted.

Lark looked to her side and saw that Stark had her suit on and took a step back in surprise, not recognizing her at first. Lark chuckled at her, gave a joking smile, and said in a jokingly mocking voice, "Guess ya weren't kiddin' when ya said it ain't as sexy."

Valentina laughed, placing a hand on her hip in what would have normally been a rather provocative pose, and said “You’d be surprised how many guys actually like it.” She momentarily thought back to a few rather entertaining evenings involving the suit, multiple men, and various substances. Laughing to herself she looked back up and saw Braego taking a few steps towards her. He stopped only inches away from her and though she was exceptionally tall, especially with the added inches in the suit, Braego stood over her as a mass of golden muscle and testosterone.
Braego's eyes drifted down her frame before rising to meet and lock with her eyes.

"Hmm.... Impressive. If your magic suit holds you may not need me to save you after all."

“I built it. It will hold.” She replied confidently, gaze unwavering, and felt the spark of chemistry between herself and the burly demi-god. “I do not need saving.” She added in a harder voice than before, irritated that he assumed that he would be the one saving her. Yes, he was a demi-god, but she already had the feeling he would barrel into battle without thinking. Actions like that were dangerous and as far as she was concerned she was more likely to have to save his ass.

"Hey guys, maybe this is just the sneaky inner assassin blood talkin', but maybe instead of just blowing things up, we sneak in there, Stark gets all that crap off their computers that we were told to get, and then we blow stuff up." Lark looked around.

Val looked away from Braego’s dark eyes and towards Lark with an impressed smile, “At least there’s two of us in this group that can use our brains. I’m with you, Lark.” She said casually, as though what she said was not an insult to everyone else.

She considered this plan for a moment and then shook her head, “Before anyone blows anything up I should do a scan for-“ She began but Braego stepped forward and spoke.

"My sister and I can divert the forces inside on our own. Leave the beast."

A moment later he had taken off to the sky with Freya on his heels. She glared after the pair in annoyance, “They’re going to get us killed.” Valentina said under her breath. Though she was not certain, there was the distinct possibility of highly unstable matter being in the plants. Since HYDRA was making weapons of war they could not just begin blowing things up aimlessly. If the lightning struck a building with a reactor or unstable matter used in making some of the more disastrous bombs… then it would be lights out for everyone in a very wide radius. Yet, everyone seemed happy to rush off without a true plan. Idiots.

"WHOA!" in a panic, he started messing with the controls more, throwing him in different directions until utimately, he found the ground.

She snapped out of her thoughts and looked down at Zach with a laugh, “Come on, Golden Boy. Don’t touch things you don’t understand.” Valentina said as Lark nudged him to get up. Though Zach was a good looking guy she had her doubts about him in other ways. There was no information on how well he fought in battle so she was interested to see him do his thing.

After some more words between the group Lark shot and a few arrows and ziplined to one of the buildings in the distance. Captain America’s son soon followed unsteadily on the jet pack while Jordan ‘hulked out’ and took off after the demi-gods leaving Valentina alone. Quickly she put her helmet on, a quiet clicking sound signaling that it was connected. In front of her eyes a complex screen appeared giving her details on everything around her.

“Good evening, Miss.” The calm voice of EVE said in her ear as Val scanned the buildings with the advanced technology of her suit, “What are we looking for?”

“The main research lab. I need to get to the heart of the system quickly and shut down everything before they have a chance to transfer any of the data to another base.” Valentina said as she read through the information that was appearing in front of her, as though it was actually popping up over buildings.

“Very smart, Miss. Readings show an immense amount of connecting systems in Wing G to the North East, building 34.” EVE said, causing Valentina to turn her head in the direction of the building. Through the enhanced vision of her suit she was able to zoom in like a telescope and see that the building was connected to the one that Lark and Zach had taken off to. At least they were having a bit of luck.

“Scan for radioactive matter, uranium, plutonium, tritium, and deuterium.” Valentina instructed EVE as she took to the air. The jets on the suit were nearly silent and allowed her to blast through the air almost unseen. In the distance she could see the flashes of lighting and screams as thunder and gun fire filled the air where the ground fight was going on.

“Of course. You suspect larger weapons, then?” EVE questioned, running the search through her suit as she flew.

“Possibly. This plant is too large to only be used for constructing ground warfare weapons. Based on the design of the buildings I think they may be developing fission weapons, perhaps even boosted fission weapons.” Valentina said, slowing down and landing next to Lark on the top of the building. Zach was already inside, judging by the gunfire, but she was waiting for the results of her scan.

“Traces of Tritium and Deuterium are present in Wing C, buildings 10 to 13. They are concentrated, though unmixed based on the calculations. But-“ EVE said, reading off the results of the scan, but Valentina knew what she was going to say next.

“But they are highly unstable.” Valentina finished, looking over towards where the gods and hulk were fighting. They were near the front, far enough away from the buildings for now, and she could only hope they wouldn’t go crazy and start blowing things up. There was no time to warn them, not if she wanted to shut everything down, and so she made the choice to go after Zach and Lark in the hopes of finding the lab.

Lark looked over at Zach with a chuckle. "Yeah, so much for quietly," Lark muttered under her breathe as Stark landed next to her. Lark heard Stark say something about 'highly unstable' and raised an eyebrow at the suited girl. She looked over at Stark and said only slightly sarcastically, "Now I ain't a genius, but that doesn't sound too good, Starky." Lark looked back to Zach who was fending off some guards and sighed, rolling her eyes. "Ya can tell me later, eh? Right now we gotta help Post Boy over there." Lark gave Stark a grin and went off after Zach.

Lark stood slightly behind Zach, shooting arrows straight into the machines and guards that came around the corner. There was a lull in the stream of enemies, seeing as they were probably more concerned with the large bolts of lightning hitting the facility at the time rather that an iron robot, a guy with a sword, and an archer. Lark quickly picked the arrows she had lost off the ground and looked around the corner into an even longer hallway. She had just decided the coast was clear and was about to step out when a bullet hit the door frame near her head. Lark took a step back before looking back around the corner more slowly only to see a group of guards running down the hall toward them.

Lark made a split-second decision and turned to Stark and Zach. "Get back," she said quietly and then, seeing as Stark probably wouldn't need to follow her next peice of advice, looked over at Zach, saying, "And you, cover your ears." With that she pulled an arrow out of her quiver, strung her bow, and stepped out, crouching quickly in the middle of the hallway. She shot the arrow directly at one of the front guards and he fell back into the rest of them. It slowed them down just enough for Lark to hop out of the middle of the hallway and cover her ears as the arrow exploded and knocked the rest of the guards out. She looked up pointedly at Zach. "See. This is why sneaky and silent is far superior to loud and brash."

"Now I ain't a genius, but that doesn't sound too good, Starky." Lark looked back to Zach who was fending off some guards and sighed, rolling her eyes. "Ya can tell me later, eh? Right now we gotta help Post Boy over there." Lark gave Stark a grin and went off after Zach.

Valentina spared no time and took off after Lark and Zach. While the suit was incredibly strong it moved with ease around her and was considerably quiet. Certainly it was louder than one could tip toe but, all things considered, it was surprisingly silent in it's movements. The screen in front of her eyes was showing her which direction to go to get to building 34 and, hopefully, to the heart of the systems. However she couldn't get there until a path was cleared.

Lark made a split-second decision and turned to Stark and Zach. "Get back," she said quietly and then, seeing as Stark probably wouldn't need to follow her next peice of advice, looked over at Zach, saying, "And you, cover your ears."

Val could see the approaching squad and though she had little fear in the guns they had she did as Lark said, simply out of respect for the girl. Out of the entire group she felt the most about of liking towards her, though that wasn't saying a lot considering how little she enjoyed this situation. The arrow that Lark had shot suddenly exploded, the force shuddering the walls around them, but Val barely felt a shake from within her suit.

She looked up pointedly at Zach. "See. This is why sneaky and silent is far superior to loud and brash."

"Unfortunately I'm going to need a little bit of that loud and brash right now." Valentina said, triggering her face shield to go up so she could look at the pair and talk freely to them, "I need to get to building 34. It's right next to his one but from my scans it is heavily guarded. I could easily blast my way inside but then I would draw too much attention and I need some time to get into the system and wipe it clean; I can't have these idiots barging in on me constantly." She explained cooly, as though this was a Sunday afternoon and they were discussing the weather, "You two will have to draw them out and I will go in through that corridor," She said, gesturing with her red and gold iron arm to the long hallway to their right, "I'll be as quick as I can." Valentina said and turned to make her way down the hall before looking back over her shoulder, "Also, stay away from the front of the complex. Three of the buildings are full of tritium and deuterium." Sensing that they would have no idea what that meant she added, "One spark and it will blow. Let's hope the blood thirsty trio doesn't go near it either."

Without wasting another moment she turned and took off down the hall, shield sliding down back over her face, and raced towards building 34.

She looked up pointedly at Zach. "See. This is why sneaky and silent is far superior to loud and brash."

"I have a feeling in some ways we might be polar opposites. You're a female, I'm a male. You like bows, I like swords. I kick ass, you have ass." he laughed. "But, to each their own."

"I'll be as quick as I can."

Zach had to try his hardest not to break. Harder than anything else he had to do. Why? Because it was the perfect opportunity to let a "That's what she said." out. He finally let the urge pass, even though that was in fact, what she had said.

"Kill stuff while you mess with the mainframe? Works for me." he didn't have any problem with that plan as the gorgeous women in the deadly suit of armor left them. "Well, stand back and watch how a professional 'Asskicker' does things." he shot a look at Lark before hopping off of a catwalk that was just around the corner. When he landed, he looked straightforward, not seeing a single soul. "Where the hell is everybody?"

He was quickly answered by the sounds of soldiers and machines behind him. "Oh." he laughed sheepishly before he turned and faced the crowd. The crowd was not actually a crowd. It was an army that was shoved into the building, multiple mechs and soldier scattered across the place. Before he could scan out too much, he heard something in German he couldn't literally understand, but the tone gave it away.

"OPEN FIRE!" is what he assumed the man shouted as that's exactly what they did. The hero qucikly reacted, as was expected with his abilities and blocked with his shield. The fire gave away for just a second, and the first thing Zach did was sprint straight for the closest mech.

It swung it's arm, hoping to hit the soldier, but did not prevail. It was effortlessly evaded and followed by a counter which appeared in the form of Peacemaker slicing a portion of it's arm off. These machines weren't that well built, at least not in comparison to Iron Man's suit. Then again, that's comparing a hut to a mansion now isn't it?

Oil from the machine's arm spewed everywhere, making walking a taxing task, as you'd have to try hard not to slip. This gave Zach an idea. He laughed but not before blocking another few rounds with his shield.

"Let's see your bow do this!" he shouted an obvious taunt towards his ally. "GRRRA!" he grunted as he sprinted towards the machine, just before he reached the oil covered floor, he hopped slightly and landed in a pose not unlike riding a skateboard. His sword arm was extended as he slid towards the machine very rapidly. The sword pierced the machine's front plates and came out the back and Zach rode the machine towards the ground, where the driver layed motionless. Blocking yet another wave of bullets, he pulled his sword out with a grunt and looked up at the assassin, a grin appearing across his face.
