::Personality::
"So you wanna know a little about me and my quirks huh?"
Anyone that knows Skye would know that it would be hard to describe her because she is very random and a bit quirky. She always tries to keep an upbeat attitude, she doesn't want to waste her time on being depressed about things she has no control on, such as mot knowing who the hell her father is. She doesn't like to be the center of attention and if she is hanging out with a group of people she likes to envolve everyone. She is naturaly flirtatios with other females and might not even know that she is flirting.

Skye doesn't wear her emotions on her sleeve, she doesn't let people in so easily and when she is upset she often removes herself from being around others and deals with it on her own. She doesn't like to bring down others if she is upset and she has issues with trusting. Some people may be able to see that Skye isn't always that upbeat, quirky girl that everyone gets to love but she has yet to meet anyone who she lets see that whole side of her.

A few things you should know about Skye is that she usually is late and usually she doesn't mean to, she has tried hard to work on this issue but something always happens that causes her to be at least a few minutes late. Shes also known to be quite stubborn and its quite funny to see Skye in one of her stubborn moods because she gets this look on her face that once you see that look you know there is no way she is budging.

She would like to know who her father is, she has tried to get the name from her mother but her mother has told her no over and over. There is no name under Father on her birth certificate, she knows he knows who she is but she wishes to knownwho he is or at least his name. She has been searching for a couple years now, even gave a letter to her mother ti give to him but she isnt sure if he ever got it. She doesn't like to talk about her father situation with anyone really, its something she keeps locked inside her but sometimes she worries that she is going to explode from the unknown.

"Into the Past"

Image
::History::
"Not everything is simple, I know my past is far from simple"
Skye Keaton was born on a cold winter day on January 17th to Shannon Keaton. Her father was not present at her birth and he did not plan to be present during Skye's life. When she was old enough to understand her mother said she had a few dates with her father but that was all and when her mother found out she was pregnant her father didn't want Skye to know who he was. The reason why was because he was Antonio Orccheto and he was married and had a family. The only way he was envolved was he had a bank account made for her mother and her and put money in it every month to help out.

Her mother raised her the best she could, Skye was independent by the time she could walk. She got into everything and by the time she was two her mother wanted to pull out her hair. Skye's independence never went away, it actually got worse as she got older. When she entered school she was always one to question her teachers and also had a knack of talking back but she was also one or the top students of her class. She would get sent home with detentions but she always got on the honor roll. She actually skipped third grade and was able to move to fourth grade.

She was able to make friends easily but she preferred to hangout with the outcast group, she liked to be different and not follow the norms of society. By the time she was twelve she already knew she was disinterested in guys and had her eyes on the girls, it felt right to her and she told her mom who was always accepting of her. At thirteen she had her first kiss with a freshman girl, it was just a kiss but it was everything to her. When she was fifteen she already had her face covered in piercings and was smoking pot with her group of outcast friends. Her mother let her explore and find herself, though some things she wished Skye wouldnt engage in but she knew if she tried to stop Skye she would just do it behind her back.

Skye graduated a year early and wasn't ready to go into the college life yet because she was unsure of what she wanted to do with her life. She was still in search of her father but she wasn't sure if she would ever find out who the misterious guy who she shares her genes with. She decideded she would find a job and see how it goes. She applied many places but what shocked her the most was she got a job at the Bistro, she actually only applied at that place because her friend dared her to. She never thought she would be accepted as a waitress with no prior training, but life has always liked to throw suprises at her. She just hopes they won't mind how different and quirky she can be.

So begins...

Maria did not look good, she was shaking like a leaf and the entire white part of her dress as well as her face was covered in blood- which didn't appear to be her's. The other girls standing by her seemed to be in as much shock over her behaviour as Daniel was- he had never seen the boss's daughter so distraught before-and didn't seem to know what to do to help her either. He was in the process of pooling his sweater's arm into his hand so he could help her wipe off some of the blood when she began to speak, only for her to be interrupted by her brother. Due to the throbbing pain in his head, it took Daniel a moment to realize what was going on and then he froze. Cole was trying to make everyone get their hands dirty... everyone left in the bar either had to kill or be killed. He hadn't worked for the Occheto family long, but he'd managed to avoid doing anything like that thus far... would this be the day he'd have to do what he dreaded most when he signed a contract with Big Daddy to save his mother?

His horrified thoughts came to an abrupt halt when Maria turned and hissed directly at him, "Go back upstairs." The blood and bruises covering her face nearly made him flinch away from the violence in her voice; as it was it only took him a moment to figure out what was really going on since he'd already drawn the conclusion about Cole's motives. Maria was trying to keep him from getting his hands dirty. Something about that thought made him feel both comforted and pathetic; he was glad she recognized his want to go without murdering someone, but at the same time he felt horrible that he couldn't help her and that she obviously didn't want him to. The conflicting emotions warred inside him as he leaned across and gently used his sweater's arm to wipe blood from the Maria's fair skin.

Daniel flinched a bit when the window shattered, but didn't bother to turn and look- already overwhelmed enough for one day. However, he did turn to gaze sadly at the boss's son as he forced two of the girls who had been hiding to stand and take part of the day's work... Bile rose in the back of his throat as he watched Cole press a knife into the new girl's hand and lead her to a struggling man. Quickly he turned away, unshed tears shining in his eyes as he finished cleaning up the blood on Maria's face. "This is a horrible place..." he thought to himself as blood coursed down his chin from his lip, which he absently wiped away with his elbow once he'd leaned away from her.

Absently he put a hand to his aching side, wheezing slightly as he tried to take a deep breath; he wasn't ready to kill anyone and despite his righteous intentions- it was obvious he couldn't help anyone down here. So slowly he nodded and-grabbing the back of a bar stool- levered himself away from the group of girls. "I-I-I'll go back... I have... work to do anyway." Daniel offered Maria a pathetic excuse for a smile and then began the long journey around the teenager's body and up the stairs past Martin. Although he was slightly afraid Cole would call him back, he was also aware that he was a part of the family business in an entirely different way and hoped that the boss's son would consider that enough. Clutching his side, the thin translator blinked back tears and wobbled up to the landing. Once he was off the stairs he collapsed into the hallway, lying against the wall and panting as he tried to erase the horror from downstairs from his mind.

The low voices were what scared Tesla the most. The warm splatter from earlier slipped her mind, but as she went to tuck a hair behind her ear, her fingertips met with something warm and gooey. Pulling away her hand, Tesla saw the familiar crimson of blood, and as she looked at the rest of her body, along her whole left side there were drops of blood. Finally, the panic that seemed to hit everyone else much sooner settled in. Feverishly she attempted to wipe away the blood, only smearing the splatter in a more obvious way then before. Silent as a mouse, Tesla poured the liquor over her leg, grabbing a cocktail napkin and wiping off the blood, taking swigs of the bottle as she did so.
Although she had blood on her face, Tesla had already forgotten. A combination of panic and Jack made her in a frenzied state to wash the blood she could see staining her skin.
People had shot over the bar, shattering several bottles and leaving hundreds of pieces of glass and liquor covering the whole back of the bar. Cursing the girl remembered she had left her heels on the other side of the bar.
More shots were heard, Tesla ducked as she heard them followed by a shattering of glass.

There was a lot of damage today.

As she heard those on the other side of the bar, Tesla huddled up behind the bar awaiting her faith. Most of these people didn't even know her name, let alone trust her. Knots began to form in her stomach, she could feel herself becoming queasy. Colors began to fade and flash, common signs of her passing out. Tesla never did well under pressure , and at this point it was like her body was ready to play dead. Cautiously she took a few deep breaths, now was not the time to leave herself defenseless. Calming herself, once again Tesla took a shot.

On one hand once she stood up, Tesla could pass out, or finally realized how drunk she was. Maybe they would just leave her there all night. Just as she thought so Skye crawled over, and Tesla was caught between being thankful for having someone there, and anger for bringing the attention to her. Skye was just afraid as she was. Tesla hugged the girl, "I'm to young to die." She sobbed, strangely tearless. As if on cue, a handsome dangerous looking man joined them on this side of the bar, pulling Tesla up and making her drop the bottle in the meantime. At first she began to scream, unable to control herself, but she slapped her hand over her own mouth to silence herself. The fire behind Cole's eyes terrified her, but she never let her eyes stray from his, even if he didn't look at her the whole time.

He kissed her head, making her cringe as he began to drag her to the group of half dead men, stumbling a little as she walked "Welcome to the family... she managed to catch, looking at him sharply. This meant she wouldn't die, right? He pulled her down, on a level closer to the man writhing in pain. Tesla stared at him, only able to half listen to Cole before she felt the cool touch of something being forced into her hand.

She looked at him, "You know what comes next if you don't." shivers ran down her spine. As he walked away, she looked down into her palm, seeing the silver of the small knife, and suddenly understanding. She looked at the man before him, he was as good as gone, but she remained still. Suddenly Skye was next to her. Tesla looked over to her, mouthing the words, "It'll be okay" in a foul attempt to comfort the girl. If it was down to killing this man and living, or not killing this man and they were both dead, unfortunately it was an easy choice. If only it was an easy action, stalling for time, Tesla was relieved when another voice distracted Cole.

Skye Keaton

Skye looked up as Cole jumped over the bar, she felt his hands on her and making her stand up. She was slightly shaking and she looked to Cole "I..I can't do this" she whispered as Cole guided her towards where the men where on the floor. "Please just let me go...I won't say anything", there was a pleading tone in her voice but she had a feeling she wouldn't be able to get out of this. She turned her head to where Maria was and wished somehow the older girl would get her out of this but there was no way.

She looked up as she heard a guy say something about the godfather movies and she thought the guy looked familiar. Like she has seen him somewhere before. As the got to where the guys were Skye looked at the bloody scene and she had a hard time from throwing up. She looked up to Cole, knowing her fate was sealed. It was either kill or be killed but she still was having a hard time wrapping her mind around it.

"Please...ill do anything else...please just don't make me kill anyone" she whispered as she tried to look away from the writhing men. She caught Tesla's eyes and the girl mouthed some words to her, trying to comfort her but it was no use. She tried to move closer to Tesla but Cole's hands were still holding her.

The comfort Daniel attempted to offer made Maria smile painstakingly, her heart wrenching in anguish. He wiped at her face, to which she did not budge much, only wore a faint, weak smile. For a moment, she took his hand and folded back his sleeve. "Thank you," she uttered sincerely, "Go back upstairs, I'll look at those ribs later." She hadn't forgotten. Cole watched Daniel make his way up the stairs, confusion written all over his face. "Let him go." Maria mumbled, finally getting to her feet. Inevitably, Cole assumed the translator was too young to be trusted. Maria wouldn't subject another stripling to torment, she wouldn't stand for it; not after what just happened to Lana. Daniel was not to be involved in the butcherings.

Maria wasn't a fool. Though her eyes didn't seem to examine the room too much, she knew that Skye had lured the man from the club to the bistro. She didn't trust it, and she was sure that was who hopped through the window and vanished into the night. It would have to be addressed one way or the other. Some ground rules needed to be established indubitably. Maria just wasn't quite sure she was in the right state to give any lectures.

The intentions of the night were clear. No one was getting off easy. Despite agreements, Big Daddy could never trust anyone. He'd use his children or enforcers to twist the arms of his 'employees' in such a way that even if they were to run, to tell someone, it would do no good. He made sure no one got a clean escape, if any at all. Maria's head throbbed as she thought about it; well, maybe that was the hair follicles that had been yanked on remorselessly a short while ago.

"I'll go get the tarp…" She sighed reluctantly, looking over her shoulder at Tesla and Skye, who was being tugged toward a squirming man by Cole. She wasn't going to rescue anyone with the exception of Daniel, who was already traumatized enough. Her eyes drifted away from the girls carelessly. Staggering into the kitchen, Maria took a deep breath once past the doors. She had a mental pep-talk with herself as she ushered herself into the basement to grab an industrial sized tarp. The sheet of fiber and plastic was bigger than her even rolled up, and she had to use all of her might just to haul it back up the stairs. She began clearing away racks to make room to lay it out.

When the kitchen cleared of its clutter, the ivory walls taunting Maria's every movement, she came through the doors again. It wasn't often she was so disheartened or somber under such circumstances, but having to look over the lifeless face of Lana was rattling her insides. Her tanned skin was spattered with blood, her green eyes were immense and vacant. Inside them, the pupils were nanoscale much like those of an unnerved feline. She felt like a shell, and somewhere deep within that shell was Maria, running around and hitting walls, talking to no one in particular as she tried to find her way home.

Jackson stood over the blond dancer, smiling a bit as he supervised her. Nodding to her silently as if to say, "Go ahead, do it," he rubbed a hand down his torso, wiping off some blood. Patience was wearing thin on everyone, and they didn't have much time for any more theatrics. Cole groaned from a few feet away, shouting, "These fucking women are going to be the reason we get slammed!" He was losing his temper. Jackson shot him a look.

"You can't do this?" Cole asked, the timbre of his voice a bit mocking. He gripped the girl's forearm and then threw her onto the ground to dust off his hands, finishing with a mighty clap. He hated to handle any woman like that, but time was of the essence. Yanking the Beretta out of his waistband, he cocked it back and put the barrel to Skye's head, "You can't do it? Are you sure?" Jackson's eyes darted to Cole, but he knew not to say anything. They were tight on time, and Cole was just trying to get it all done before it was too late.

He couldn't take an hour to sit down and play Dr. Phil with the girl until she understood, comprehended and was a little less tense. Cole was compassionate, but when his father was counting the minutes, sensitivity was a virtue thrown to the wolves. He lit up a cigarette, lowering the gun a bit for a moment, "If I had a nickel for every time someone said they wouldn't say anything, I'd be god damn rich." He resumed with his pistol, the nose of it grazing Skye's hair, noting that the girl was looking hopelessly towards Maria, "Oh," he grunted, "I see now."

Thrusting the barrel against her head once more to remind her where she was, he began, "This isn't a fucking movie. This isn't some dream. That girl over there? The one who just had her face shoved into the corpse of her friend? She isn't going to fucking save you. Besides, she knows better now, doesn't she?"

Another man came onto the other side of Skye and herself, egging her on to do what she was told. When her parents had mocked her for leaving, said she could never handle the real world, yet here she was, in a situation more real than anything her parents had ever experience. Somehow the fear began to fade, perhaps adrenaline was cutting through her wariness. Skye begged next to her, Tesla itched to comfort the poor girl, if she felt anything like Tesla did five minutes ago she knew how crippling the fear was.

The man to the left of her began to yell at Skye, throwing her aside and pointing a gun at her. Tesla was frozen, gripping onto the slight knife with her dear life in silence.

Maria mentioned something of a tarp, but to Tesla it seemed like Skye had no time. Her eyes remained fixated on the two men set out for them to kill. By her view, no other men were left alive, so hopefully that was the case. Without a second more of hesitation, Tesla stabbed the man in a main artery, a trick her brother had once taught her. The mans blood squirted out in an almost laughable manner, getting it all over Tesla and the man pointing a gun at Skye. Her brother had showed her all the arteries that if severed caused death within seconds, if not a minute or two. Then before the other two could stop her, Tesla thrusted her knife into the chest of the second man, attempting to cut his heart. Yet as he began to choke, coughing up blood, Tesla realized instead she had punctured his lung. A much slower and more painful death.

She slumped back, remaining just a foot from the lives she just took, her hands trembling. "There, they're dead." Her voice was stripped of all emotion, dead in a way herself.

Martin didn't move form his balcony view of the carnage below. As the fight raged, he could only look on in mild horror, the grip on his gun weakening so that he was barely grasping it. This wasn't the worst he'd seen- not by a long shot, but it was almost comforting for him to realize that, yes, murder still bothered him, even when he didn't know the dead person, or people in this case. He had to fight to hold back the bile rising up his throat when the small family was shot, their only sins being at the wrong place at the wrong time. His hands clenched the banister tightly, knuckles turning white. He couldn't stop staring.

He barely glanced as Big Daddy tossed his own daughter around like a rag doll, or when her friends and Daniel- why hadn't he just stayed in the damn office?- swarmed to her to check on her condition, not even when one man burst out the glass windows and another one joined the aftermath. Just stared down at the three innocents, lips pulled into a frown.

Some days he had been afraid of what this job had done to him. Terrified that he was becoming something he could no longer identify- a monster. So maybe it felt good, the bile trying to force its way from his body, the disgust curdling in his stomach, at the sight below. It reminded him that he was human, and that.... That was fucked up.

Daniel rushing up the stairs seemed to break the spell Martin was under. He could see Cole ordering the two new girls to take part in the massacre below. It made sense, he thought wryly. That was part of the reason that Martin was here now. But he didn't do anything for the squirming girls below, instead slowly turning around and making his way over to where Daniel had collapsed. He absently knelt down next to him, not quite meeting the younger man's eyes. He didn't say anything for a moment, not quite sure what to say. Anything would just come out as disingenuous or too little too late.

"I..." There were so many things he wanted to say. I told you to stay in the office. Why did you leave the office? You could have avoided this. Why did you leave the office?
Instead, he just put a hand lightly on one of Daniel's quivering shoulders, letting the young man run through his emotions on his own time.

Skye Keaton

Before she knew it Skye was on the ground and a gun was pressed against her head, she was shaking bad and really just wanted to run but there was no way she could, not with so many guys with guns around here. Skye got to her knees and looked right at Cole, again she was feeling some similiarity to him just like she felt with Maria but she was sure she did not know these two before she began work only three days before. With a gun pressed against her head she finally just snapped.

"Y'all are fuckin' crazy, I came here to be a waitress not some god damn killer!" she screamed and then looked over to Tesla. She watched the girl kill both the guys, she shook her head, tears flowing down her eyes as she looked to Cole. "You happy now?, they're dead" she then crawled over to Tesla and put her arms around the girl.

Blood stained her clothes and hands from crawling across the floor, she looked towards Cole, there was a fire in her grey eyes. "Since my hands are already bloody what next?" her voice no longer held the sweet, innocent tone it held before. It sounded actually deeper. The guy that Tesla stabbed in the lungs was still squirming. She grabbed the knife from Tesla's hand and went over to the guy. Hovering over the guy, she held the knife over the guys heart and then started to just repeatedly stab the guy, tears flowing down her face, but she didn't stop.

All of Cole's senses were dangerously honed. If there was a conversation going on softly, he was going to hear it. He listened to the man sputter whom the dancer had stabbed, struggling against the blood filling his lungs. To say he was impressed by the girl's tact was certainly true, but a lot of them did it this way. They went off the deep end a bit when confronted with a life or death decision. Tesla had slumped away, trembling like a mess.

Cole looked up to catch Martin with a frown tugging against his lips, "Looks like we'll definitely be needing those drinks tonight!" he called up, still wearing his white, toothy grin. Off to the side, Maya was face palming herself a short moment before hooking the one who Cole didn't know right in his jaw. He had to stifle laughter as he watched, his gun still pointed at Skye's head. Maya made some comical announcement about Lance being a community punching bag.

Beyond the first floor, hunched over the railing and being comforted by Martin was Daniel. Trying to ease the tension and offer some compassion, Cole called up again, "Tell him Martin! Tell him how dangerous girls are. Especially Maria. She's trouble!" Jackson laughed a bit, then helped Tesla to her feet, hoping this declaration would keep everyone in the room away from Maria.

Upon being asked if he was happy, Cole furled his lip and then smirked a bit, "I mean, kudos to the tiny dancer over here. But what about you?" He lowered his gun, cocking his head to the side as he peered into Skye's grey eyes. Something about them was so familiar. He didn't dwell on it too much as he watched her with his own expectant cyan eyes. He seemed less human in that moment, and more hollow.

Suddenly she clambered away, struggling over one of the men. Cole just raised a brow again, laughing as she went apeshit, stabbing the victim ruthlessly. He'd seen it a thousand times, especially with females. "You gals and your hormones," he joked, kneeling and shoving Skye so she landed on her back. He loomed over her for a second, then snatched the knife, "Easy there Rambo." He patted her shoulder and walked away.

Heeding to the warning that Lance was sneering at Maya, he spun on his heel to make sure she was okay. She stood beside Lance, looking at a wallet with fear in her eyes. In this business far too long, Cole knew what that meant. She rarely wore alarm so freely, as she was an expert in poker faces. He b-lined for them, grabbing the wallet and looking at it before anyone could say a thing. When Lance extended his hand, he had to scrutinize the situation. He tucked the wallet into his own pants and narrowed his eyes at Maya, not needing to point his gun at Lance as everyone would be as soon as he spoke his next words. "Really, Maya? A fucking FBI agent?"

His teeth were gritted so hard his jaw began to ache, "I'd probably kill you right now if my dad didn't like you so much," he spat, "It's always the fucking women!" He shook Lance's hand, bringing him in close, "I'm gonna' let you roam, man, but don't go jumping out a window." He pulled away, fluttering his hands as a gesture for everyone to put their guns down. Then he announced, "I'd like everyone to give Maya a big round of applause for being the one woman who thinks more with her genitals than any guy in this goddamn room." Cole waved his gun in the air as he spoke. It was partially a joke, but more of an insult.

Funny, how easy it was to end a life. It could have just as easily been her own lifeless body sprawled on these blood stained floors. The red of her skin tight dress had a darker more crimson red pattern along the whole front, on one hand she felt like she should've been falling apart. Yet strangely the girl felt nothing, simply nothing.

Skye hugged her, clambering over from Cole, and Tesla looked at the girl blankly. What was there to say? She looked back to the man she had stabbed in the lungs, twitching in pain. There was something disturbing in knowing that she caused that pain. Skye finally spoke, and Tesla no longer heard fear in her voice. It was much like her own, she thought. They had both been tainted, Tesla's vain attempt to shield the younger girl from these blood stains was for nothing. Finally Skye put the man out of his misery, she wished she could thank the girl for doing what she couldn't.
Tesla felt herself being lifted up, she felt like a limp rag doll but once she was at he feet she stood solidly. Adrenaline had burned through most of the liquor, probably, but at this moment Tesla knew she needed just a fat joint. She looked at the man that helped her up, he was the same one who had just pointed a gun at Skye moments ago. Her heart was still pounding in her ears, and slowly she could feel the cuts on her feet from walking across the glass shattered floors barefoot and an ache on her whole right arm. "I need to take a shower." She managed to get out, at the moment she had a hard time grasping for words. "I have clothes I brought t-to change into after work, I just need a shower." The way she spoke to him was less of asking for a favor, and more of expecting him to fix the problem.

Tesla pulled Skye towards her, she barely knew the girl and already she felt like she held a responsibility over her. She glared at Cole, "He made me do this" she thought to herself, holding in the spit she wished she could aim at his face. At this moment she finally realized she was at the point of no return. When she decided to call Big Daddy she had sealed her fate.

Now she was trapped, even if she wanted to leave, would they let her? Her roommate would never know what had happened, Tesla would never breathe a word of this incident to anyone outside of this room, this much she was sure of. But was that for her own selfish reasons? She had killed tonight, something Tesla never thought would happen. Two years ago all the girl would think about how to show off her cleavage and charming the pants off of anyone she desired, if she would've told her 19 year old self that when she was 21 she would be a killer, Tesla would've laughed. Life would never be so easy again.

As Skye was stabbing the guy she felt herself be pushed on her back and she was now looking up to Cole. She was taking in short breaths and she felt the knife be taken from her hand and Cole seemed to make some joke. She fought the urge to tackle the guy right there but she knew that wouldn't be a good idea.

She had no idea what to do, she could not go home with her clothes and skin covered in blood, her mother would ask too many questions that she was just not ready to answer. She felt someone help her up and she was now looking into the eyes of Tesla. She wasn't sure what to say or do, her face showed no expression at all.

She took the blondes hand in her own and squeezed it gently, thats all she could really do. She couldn't form any words, she looked away at nothing, just staring off into space as her mind went on overdrive. She could hear people speaking around her but she couldn't make out what they were saying. This night was just too much for her and her mind was trying to comprehend on how to deal with it al. How she was suppose to deal with knowing she took a mans life.

Perhaps a bit beside herself, Maria seemed to slow as she watched everyone around her conduct their business. It was a sideshow, some weird, uncanny shit people only saw in movies. Incomprehensibly to the world, Maria felt detached. Some days, under the words and influence of Aurora, even sometimes Maya, she was sure she was still partially alive; still human. She wasn't just exoskeleton. Even sometimes, she was sure she had an amorous and right-brained soul. Now, she wasn't so sure. And if she did have all these golden attributes, inevitably they were for nothing. It was all for nothing.

Had she let these thoughts, these reckonings imbibe her, she would be completely depleted. It wasn't the first time that they tromped inside of her head, threatening her sanity or what existed of it. The indifference she felt for her father was growing, but like many others, and fairly unbeknownst, she too, was trapped in this life. This… Trade. Her moods would remain waveless until provoked, of course. She would simply exist and go through the motions for the rest of her life. It was all she had.

The men on the carpet stopped thrashing. They stopped holding onto life and accepted their fates as they inevitably slipped into another macrocosm. Maria only hoped for them, that there was something better on the other side. Frankie, the one Suri had just executed, was inanimate despite the agreement he seemingly made with the blond and black headed girl. Maria started towards her, exhaling with excruciation at her brother's comments that blamed the female population, "Come on Suri, I'll look at this thing on your arm upstairs." She carefully pulled the girl from the scene, guiding her up the stairs.

Looking back to Tesla and Skye, Maria shrugged and offered, "You can get cleaned up upstairs." Her tone was flat, as if she didn't want to say much. When she was on the second floor, she escorted Suri to the royal-blue painted, palatial VIP room and through a small, trap-like door. When on the other side, they were greeted by chalky walls and a massage table and some chairs. Hanging from the walls were two quite outlandish cabinets which contained medical equipment.

Her brother disappeared into the kitchen downstairs, only to return with rubber gloves and yammering on about not making a mess while transferring the corpses to the tarp in the kitchen. He was going to butcher them and compact them. Maria couldn't stand it. She'd taken part in it maybe three times at the most. Is this what she had to look forward to for the rest of her life? Absolutely. It was too late for her. There wasn't much room for second thoughts with the Occheto's.

She helped Suri onto the table and sifted through the cabinets before saying, "Ah ha!" in a slight whisper. Proceeding back with her hands full, she smiled, "Knick is a kind of loose term for what happened to your arm, Sur, I'm gonna' be real with you." She set bandages, forceps, antibiotics and various items on a small metal table. Pressing her fingers to the wound gently, she sucked air through her teeth, "I think that will need stitches." After cleaning the wound, she threaded a medical needle, nearing it to the skin. Almost instantly, she stopped and sighed, "My hands just --- shit. They aren't steady enough."

With a slight clatter, she threw the needle and forceps onto the table and raked a hand down her mildly crimson-flecked face, a bit cleaner thanks to Daniel and Maya. She was paler than usual, her hair was untamed and dark. Steadying herself against a chair as she felt her knees give a little, she swallowed hard and retorted over her shoulder, "I don't usually get like this... Sick, you know?" Leaning her head against the wall, she gave an exasperated look to the medical equipment next to where Suri lay, "I hate this sentimental bullshit. It's such a fucking waste. For what? I should have learned with Jackson. But I still kept trying to be that heroine who picked up everyone else's pieces." While they were together, just the two of them, Maria lowered her voice and admitted, "I don't think I'm going to survive much longer, Suri." And it was true.

She felt isolated, yet responsible for everyone around her. Her father laid the fate of his restaurant and sometimes his reputation in her hands. She feared his patience and tolerance was wearing. Sure, if Jackson could leave the business, so could she. But everyone saw how long that lasted. It was entrapment at best. And she was alone, regardless of her choosing to be that way.

Skye Keaton

Skye didn't exactly hear what Tesla said, she just felt her hand be taken and she was being pulled up a flight of stairs. She was still in some kind of shock. She felt Tesla let go of her and run the rest of the way to the bathroom. Skye just took slow steps until she came to the bathroom door and opened it. She saw Tesla leaning over the toilet but quickly got up and straightened herself out. Skye leaned against the door unsure of what to do. When Tesla mentioned that she wished this was a dream, she looked up right into Tesla's eyes "more like a nightmare" she whispered softly.

When Tesla asked if she would stay in the room she nodded her head, there was no way she was going out there alone. She lowered herself on the floor and brought her knees up to her chest, she was still shaking a bit. She kept her eyes to the floor as Tesla showered, not saying anything. As Tesla got out of the shower and told her she could go in now, she didn't think twice as she pulled off her clothes. Not really caring that Tesla would see her. She got into the shower and just put the hot water on.

She felt the water burn against her skin and she took a cloth and dumped soap onto it then started to scrub her skin roughly. The scrubbing wasn't enough for Skye, she kept scrubbing but she still felt dirty. She then started to cry and she jist couldn't stop, the water was starting to turn her skin red as she just stood there under the water.

After about ten minutes she finally got out of the shower, her pale skin was now bright red and some areas looked a bit raw. She grabbed a towel and started to dry herself off. She put her pants back on and then noticed a shirt off to the side. She put it on the looked to Tesla "thank you".

Suri Desmond

When Maria hugged her, Suri just held her close, she was going to be there for Maria in any way the girl needed her. When Maria finally let go and told her that her wound needed to be at least cleaned she sighed but didn't argue. She knew when not to argue with Maria and this was one of those times. She got back onto the table and listened to her friend.

"Your right, I have times when I just wanted to be done with dealing and just stick to my tattoo shop but I know I can't do that". When Maria poured the alcohol onto the wound she let out a mouthfulof swears and clenched her other hand. "Though some don't exactly get the choice, like some of your waitstaff, I bet when they signed up for this job they didn't expect to get there hands dabbled in blood. But thats life and now they are stuck".

When Maria was done fixing up her arm she smiled "thanks doll". She watched as Maria went to the doorway and called for Daniel, she got up and went to the small refrigerator in the room and grabbed a beer. She sat down in one of the chairs and opened the beer, then started to sip at it.

He was with Jackson briefly, or so it seemed. The bodies, or pieces of, were stacked in the basement and out of sight. As far as the bloody carpet was concerned, it had been rolled up and tossed in the back of Jackson's truck, soon to be burned. He had splashed a bit of bleach and vinegar over necessary stains and blood, diligent in removing all smears and spots.

Cole strode into the dining area, fetching himself a bottle of vodka. He lined up ten or so shot glasses, considering everyone in the restaurant could use a drink. He stopped halfway through, glancing up at Maya with disdain. "You think liking sex is a fucking excuse, Maya?" Suddenly his tone was serious, his agitation heightened by her light demeanor about the situation. "Tell you what," he began pouring again, looking at the shot glass and trying not to grit his teeth with anger, "Pull your head out of your 'perfectly shaped' ass, close your fucking mouth, and make some use of yourself." Nodding to her, he downed a shot then continued, "And I don't mean by spreading yourself on linen."

Though he hated to be so brutal, so harsh, she could have threatened not only his life, but his sister's and the others working at the bistro. He was already unhappy enough in the state of things; when Maya tossed an FBI agent into the mix, well, he could of choked her out. He felt that she too freely threw around the fact that she was close with the family, something he would address sooner rather than later. He figured it was best to speak his mind and have a drink versus the alternative. Typically bistro employees weren't thrust helplessly into such situations. The family tried to avoid it at all costs. Presumably, this was why Big Daddy was so upset with Maria about Lana.

Looking around, he wondered where Skye and the dancer had gone. He called out, "Everyone should come down to the bar, have a little chit chat." For a moment he peered towards the terrace, rolling his eyes, just knowing that Maria was patching up the kid translator. She was only going to get into more trouble, tending to people like some mother hen.

Cole shot a look at Lance, "Want a drink, man?" With that, he slammed down another shot and gasped hungrily, the alcohol burning his throat. Odd shadows played on his face, a castoff of the evil that existed in him. His indigo eyes were wakeful as ever, his six or so feet of posture firm and austere.

Martin watched quietly as Daniel made his way into the back room to get his injuries looked at by Maria. It wasn't until the younger translator was out of sight that Martin finally made his way down the stairs. The acoustics in Buca weren't amazing or anything, but he could still clearly hear the conversation going on in the dining room below. The two new girls had disappeared, presumably to wash up. He would say clean up, but the stain of blood persisted for much longer than a few scrubs in the shower.

And then there was Maya and her newest boy-toy FBI agent combo. Oh, Hell, what were they going to do with this guy? His eyes slightly narrowed at Maya's lackadaisical attitude about having dragged an honest-to-God FBI agent into the bloody aftermath, quirking her lips and simpering despite the serious situation. Did she even know what she was doing, flaunting her position in the Occheto family so flagrantly? What was she thinking? Obviously nothing or this wouldn't be happening. Maybe she hadn't realized it yet, and he really wasn't sure how she hadn't given that she'd been with the family for so long, but no one was ever above the rules in the Occheto family, and if Cole's snarl in response to her or even Big Daddy's treatment of his own daughter just a short while before hadn't driven that home, he didn't know what would.

"Everyone should come down to the bar, have a little chit chat." Martin slid into a seat at the bar heavily, pushing up his glasses and rubbing the bridge of his nose. God, he needed... Needed a job that didn't put him and his coworkers in constant danger, didn't put him on the wrong side of the law so that he had to be nervous every time someone even mentioned law enforcement. But, for now, a drink would suffice. It had to.

Tesla could hear barely make out the sound of tears over the shower. For a moment she considered asking Skye if she was okay, but Tesla already knew the answer to that. Is this what this life did? Take your soul piece by piece so you're left with nothing but a wall? Tesla could only imagine the horrors they others had seen.

Everyone had been innocent at one time, when was their moment? Did they kill a stranger, a family member? A lover? There was no telling. The water stopped running, Sky reached for a towel and Tesla's eyes snapped to the mirror. She had yet to shed a tear that whole night, but her eyes were still puffy, bags under them telling her it was time for sleep. Her whole body felt strung out. Skye put on the shirt Tesla set out for her, thanking Tesla quietly. Tesla turned to face the girl, attempting to appear at peace, "No problem." She wanted to say more but the words were just out of her grasp. Instead she hoisted her purse back onto her shoulder, pulling from them a pair of hard soled moccasins. She went to slip her feet into them, but a hint of red caught her eye. Tesla twisted her foot so she could look at the bottom and gasped.

She had been in pain, but Tesla was sure it was only a few minor cuts. Instead her whole bottom of her feet were covered with superficial cuts that had bled out and on her right foot a deeper cut went through the balls of her feet. A piece of glass was still wedged in. She cursed out loud, as if the sudden realization of the wound made her feel the pain. Her eyes looked at Skye in slight panic, "I'm a dancer, I'm nothing without my feet!" Her fear was more of an overreaction than rational, her mood on edge. On her foot that had stopped bleeding she slipped on the moccasin, remembering there was a first aid kit left open on the bar. "I think I saw a first aid kit down stairs, maybe there's something in there I could use." Tesla said, glancing over to Skye once more, then doing a double take. A patch of the girls arm was rubbed raw, a bright pink against her otherwise pale skin. Tesla squinted, spotting other bright pink patches. She understood the blood was still there, no matter how long you scrubbed. It was such a cliche she heard all her life, but she understood it so well now.

Tesla made sure to walk on the heel of her right foot, making it to Skye and wrapping her arms around her maternally. "Let's just make it through the rest of this nightmare so we can go home and cry ourselves to sleep." She said, half joking. Tesla took Skye's hand, guiding her down the stairs as she wobbled on her foot.
Once they reached the foot of the stairs, the first aid box was right in plain sight. "Atleast something's are going right." She said out loud, still clinging onto Skye as she approached the bar. At this point she wasn't sure if she was clinging on for herself or Skye. Something about a steadfast hand in her own had a was to center her mind. But she had to let go to tend to her foot.

From the first aid kit she retrieves tweezers, gauze and a wrap. Once again Tesla was reminded of Micah. He was so excited to tell Tesla everything when he returned from training. Who knew she would actually use the information he told her, even if it was for a mob family. Wincing, she pulled out the piece of glass, which prompted the gash to start bleeding again. She stifled the cut, stuffing gauze over it to make it stop bleeding and wrapping the wrap around it tightly. She sighed, "I think it needs stitches." She frowned, speaking to no one in particular. Finally she turned to ask Skye a question, "How are you? Is anything hurting?" Tesla scanned the girl for any injury her eye might've missed before.

Skye stood there unsure of what they were suppose to do next, her arms were crossed against her cheat and she could not help but scratch at her skin, she was still having a difficult time accepting that she killed someone. Her mother will notice something was different about her and what was she suppose to tell her mother? Oh hi mom..today at work I was made to kill someone, no she couldn't tell her mother that, she couldn'tell her mother anything but lies. Was the rest of her life going to be lies now? Not always being able to tell the truth? She let out a soft sigh.

Hearing Telsa curse made her snap out of her mind and she looked at the other girl, she wasn't expecting what she saw. "Theres..a..um piece of glass in your foot" she pointed and bit her lip. When Tesla said she was a dancer she slightly frowned, she felt bad for the girl "you should probably uh get that looked at then" her voice was no more than a whisper.

The hug from Tesla suprised her, she just stood there and listened to the older girl mention a first aid kit and going downstairs and something about sleep. "I don't know if i'll be able to sleep after this". Tesla then took her hand and Skye followed slowly behind. When they got downstairs Tesla found the firstaide kit and went to fixing up her foot. She took a chance and looked around at the many different faces that were at the bar, faces of people she no longer recognized or trusted at all, even though she just met most of them in the last two days, there was no way she could look at these people the same.

Hearing Tesla say something made Skye put her attention back to the girl "W..what? Oh im fine...I just want to go" she looked down at her arms, some of her skin was raw and had some scratches but it was nothing to her. She stayed byt Tesla's side, her arms kept crosses against her chest and her form was very rigid.

When Cole hit the bar top with his hands Skye jumped and a small squeal escaped her mouth, she looked back down to the ground and waited for what Cole had to say.

Aurora sat on the other side of the bar, her eyes a bit wide yet her composure dignified. Silent as ever and calm, she remained attentive in nature. Then, she spoke up to give Hayden a glass of water. Cole smiled at the two, relieved that his other half was more soothing than himself. He gave a shrug towards Skye, "I know that look; you don't know what your story is going to be when someone asks. You'll feel different for a while, after what you did tonight. It changes people. But you'll be fine, you know?"

He poured Aurora a short glass of vodka and passed it to her with a playful wink. Everyone seemed to have come down a bit after being given a few moments. Cole himself was feeling slightly more congenial. Jackson sat far off at the end of the bar, not needing any speech as he simply stared up the stairway at Maria hanging off of Daniel's arm like a good luck charm.

"Well then," Cole rubbed his chin, "Let's start off with the bad news." His eyes were steely, icy as they scanned the room and fell upon Skye again, "Whoever that was that you were talking to --- well, he's gone now. I take it he's the one who jumped out the window. If you have his contact information, you gotta' give it up. Addresses, phone numbers, name, shit like that. We don't need any more unexpected visitors or messes."

For a second, he wondered what would possess someone to even jump out a window like that. Just, busting out a window and sailing right on through. But, adrenaline and fear did crazy things. He was no stranger to that aspect of the business at least. His eyes scraped across the people seated at the bar until he focused on the dancer and said simply, "I'm sure you all know not to go running your mouths, people who do… Well, not much can keep them safe." He sighed heavily, lighting a cigarette between his lips. That was all the warning he would give.

Outside, a storm was waging war on the city and the empyrean above. As usual, the Chicago gale was apoplectic as it tore rain in contrastive directions. Though the sky was dark, the dingy clouds were even more grim. No moon or stars could be seen. The doors rattled from the entrance a bit, to which Cole grunted, "I'll let you all go before it gets much worse."

He watched as the shots gradually disappeared and people slunk off. Before Martin could stand, Cole stated, "If you have time, you should come back to the house with us tonight. Tomorrow we have a rather big event for some business transactions." Glancing at Maya, he cracked his neck. He'd need a translator and someone who had some backbone. Underestimating would prove useless. And then there was the FBI agent Maya had stupidly dragged in, which was why Cole seemed to be so vague as he spoke. What was Cole going to do with him?

Feeling eyes on her, Skye looked over to Cole, hearing his words made her shudder. How does he know im going to be fine? He doesn't even know me. She didn't say anything in response to that, she wasn't sure how long she was going to keep with this job, especially when there seems to be dead bodies every time she works.

When Cole addressed her about Frank she bit her lip but didn't want to lie to them "His names Frank, I have his number. He is an investigator and planned on helping me find my father. I had no clue what you guys are and I still really don't but that doesn't mean I do want to know. I didn't know he was coming here. You all might be able to kill people like its nothing but im not you and you have no clue that I will be fine or not because you don't know me" she was looking at Cole the whole time and was gripping her hands in fists "but you have nothing to worry about with me I wont be saying anything".

Hearing the storm brewing outside made her curse under her breath. She had to leave before the storm hit badly because she had her bike and it wasn't fun riding in the rain. When Cole said they could leave she turned to Tesla and put her hand on the girls shoulder and squeezed slightly then turned to leave.

She grabbed her bag and helmet from the closet and headed outside to her harley.

Suri Desmond

Suri kept her hand on Lexi's shoulder and listened to Cole as he mostly spoke to the newbies. Once Cole was done "Hey ill send you a message in the morning when I wake up, ill be taking Lexi with me and will speak with you more about her tomorrow also." She then took Lexi's hand and smiled to her "come on sugar, heading to my home now but first have to stop to get some cigarettes".

She first walked over to Maria, letting go of Lexi's hand for a moment and gave Maria hug and a peck on the cheek "see you tomorrow at some point doll, thanks for patching me up". She then waved to everyone else then grabbed Lexi's hand once more and headed outside to her corvette. Once they both were in the car she peeled out of the parking lot and headed to the closes gas station.

"Be right back sugar" she went into the store and bought four packs of cigarettes and got a couple sodas for Lexi and her. After she paid she went back to the car and got int. She gave Lexi one of the sodas then opened a pack of cigarettes and lit one for herself. She took a couple of drags and sighed contently "Just what I needed, you want one? I know you aren't eighteen yet but I don't give a shit" she gave Lexi a knowing look then drove home.

She pulled up to her house and looked at it "its not much but its cozy, now come on in" she got out of her car and headed inside but waited at the door and held it open for Lexi.

When Maria and Daniel breached the floor at the end of the stairs, Maria cut him loose. She didn't want to make him feel awkward or as if she were putting him under some sort of figurative spotlight. She crept over to a seat near him however, listening carefully to Martin as he spoke in reply to her brother. Then she remembered there was a deal at the pier to be had, and Cole was merely playing it safe, asking Martin to come over so they could discuss the fine details.

Nudging Daniel as she sat, she whispered in his ear, "Stop being so embarrassed. You're beet red." She shot him a good-natured smirk and asked her brother for a glass of water. Skye was giving some sass with her tiny hands balled into fists a few seats from Maria. Maria didn't know whether to feel pity, amusement, or irritation. Perhaps she was feeling a combination of all three, being that the young girl expressed herself in a way Maria once did when she was young. Nostalgia.

There was someone who didn't belong, though. Maybe it was the taller man off to the side in a nice suit near Maya. No, no. He at least looked somewhat fitting for the atmosphere, tall and sinister. It was the girl that sat beside Suri that really threw Maria off. It wasn't until her brother bumped her arm with her drink that she realized she was leaned far over the bar to stare down at its occupants with an eyebrow raised. Typical girl, she thought to herself, god dammit.

Before she could pivot over to Daniel to crack a joke, Suri sauntered by and kissed Maria's cheek and expressed some gratitude. With a feline grin, Maria riposted softly, "Feed that girl, will you? She looks like she's going to break!" When she turned to glance over the young translator, she figured it best to say nothing. He looked like he was in a whole other dimension. At the end of Cole's speech, she simply patted Daniel's back and asked if he was okay to drive home himself.

"Figure it out on your own time, I'm closing up. I don't have time for any more antics tonight," Cole called out to Maya who was addressing Lance. Aurora approached Cole promptly, hugging him and staring up at him with her cute, big old puppy eyes. When Maria's brother looked down at Aurora, there was something in his face Maria had never seen before. Honestly, the young man brought home at least seven or eight different girls home throughout the week, so Maria never expected him to settle on just one. She was rather surprised when he picked Aurora. Who would have thought? But now, she was sure it was right. It was fated, just like everything else.

The thought of fate was a painful self revelation. She was bound to her virtues or lack thereof, which ultimately meant she would generally not allow herself to get attached or form any type of link with another human being. Thoughtfully, as if in another dimension herself, her green eyes trotted over Jackson's face. He was a good enough reminder that men were usually a folly in her life.

She sighed heartily at Cole and Aurora, "Get a room, you two!" Glancing upwards, she thought about it for a moment, "In fact, you're a lightweight Aurora, you should just ride with me." Her eyes turned to examine Daniel suspiciously then as she waved a petite hand in his face, "And what about you? Do you need a ride home?" Behind the bar, Cole separated himself momentarily to cut more lights in the bistro and rinse some glasses.
