Faythe loved running. It was probably her favorite part of Jack ever gracing her with such a gift. She just felt...so free when she ran. Like nothing could ever catch her or stop her. The wind against her face, streaming through her hair, it was all so magical.

She loved darting through threes as fast as they could, leaping off rocks, string up dust as they moved much faster than the human eye would ever be able to keep up with. She was a few steps behind him, working hard to catch up, but she couldn't quite do it.

She wanted to win just so she could rub it in his face. She liked being faster, but she never went too far. She was, after all, a good person and he was like her other half. And then...he fell. And Faythe, who had a terrible habit of staying on someones ass, went right down after him.

She hit with double intensity. Everything that hurt Jack, hurt her. So it was like a double dose of pain when she smacked into him, sliding before coming to a messy stop. She coughed dirt out of her lungs and looked up with a sigh. His face was technically on the porch so.

"Well then...guess you won...jerk."

"So when I said I wanted you to eat my dirt I didn't mean literally." Jack said as he pulled his face form the porch. His nose was broken but he was already starting to heal rapidly. He turned to make sure Faythe was ok but from the smart ass comment he knew she was fine. "I think my ass hurts more than my face though." he said with a slight smile as he wiped his face.

"So i think we should call this one a tie but next time we do that we need to allow shifting, then we can really see who is the fastest." he said as he went to pick up the fish that were now all over the porch. He would have helped her clean the fish even if he had won just because he hates doing it so much and he would hate to have done it all by himself. Plus knowing the rest of the family they would all be showing up soon so Faythe and him didn't have much time to clean the fish and start cooking.

"Alright lets see what should we cook with these fish for dinner?" he asked as he opened the door for Faythe. The Darkwood family house was more of a mansion. It was a beautiful house hand Built by Jack's father. It is three stories High with over 15 different bed rooms, 10 full sized bathrooms, a large basement that had a secret door that led into the lower caves under the house, a very large dinning room with an equally large dinning table in the middle, and a kitchen the size of a small house. 'Not to bad for some mangy flee bitten monsters.' Jack thought to himself. There was also a tree house out back built in the largest known oak tree in the land that was built by Serenity, Lucius, Desten and him for Serenity's beta Elena to live in that was big enough for four people to live in very comfortably and that had its own kitchen.

"Shut up," Faythe mumbled with a chuckle at his words as she picked herself up and dusted off. She winced though when he looked a her. He had hit hard, and there was an obvious break in his nose that was already healing. She nodded along with his words. Sure, a tie. That meant they'd split cleaning the fish. She didn't mind so much.

She snorted slightly as she helped him pick up the fish. "Whatever, I would so beat your ass if we had phased." When they finished and he opened the door for her, she slid in thankfully and smiled at the house. She loved the Darkwood estate. It was beautiful. Inviting. It screamed family.

She smiled softly. That was second favorite thing about being one of them. Even if she wasn't born into...Jack chose her, which was something equally as special. But getting to be a part of something so...whole. So strong. It was...special. They had bonds no other species could ever come close to having. It made her sad sometimes that they couldn't share that.

She bounced off to the kitchen and found a rag to wet before motioning Jack over. She took the basket of fish from his hands before sitting it on the counter, then she faced him. She lifted up on her tiptoes just slightly to reach him better, and gently began to wash away the blood smeared on his face. Just because they healed didn't mean the evidence of their injuries just disappeared too.

"Do we have any potatoes?" she wondered. She knew they had a few fruits and vegetables growing on the property, but she hadn't thought to check and see if anything had harvested. Sometimes it took awhile after the winter for things to come up. "That'd be good."

Jack made a face of slight irritation at Faythe as she washed his face. He felt like she was treating him like a child, but that quickly faded as he thought about how even though he was the Alpha she seemed to take care of him just as much as he did her. His wondering mind soon came back into focus as Faythe asked him a question.

"Do we have any potatoes?" Jack thought for a minute about what might have been harvested recently. "I don't think we have any potatoes but I do think there is some corn over the near the was board." He said as he pointed towards the prepping area of the kitchen.

"I really hope the others are taking their time in getting here cause all this fish might take a while." Jack said as he moved over to a drawer and took out a flaying knife and started to descale the fish. "While I do this try to find some good spices if you don't mind, or do you want to do the fish and I can do the corn?" He asked as he threw away the first leftovers of a fish and started to cut into the second large fish.

"Then I will fry up the fish while you get the ontreys going ok?" Jack said with a smile as he lopped of the head of one of the bigger fish. It didn't take him long to finish cleaning the rest and getting all the meat ready. He started up the fire and waited for the pan to get nice and hot before he started to lay the fish out and start adding spices. The kitchen filled with the heavenly aroma of the cooking food. It was making Jacks mouth water and stomach growl.

He loved cooking and cooking with Faythe made it even better. She always seemed willing to try his concoctions and shared a lot of the same preferences when it came to food and taste. Even though he liked to say he was a good cook he knew he was no match for Faythe. Almost everything he knew in the kitchen came from her and if not her then it came form Elena who was just as fine a cook as Faythe. As he looked up and saw Faythe moving around the room and he couldn't help but be reminded of his mother and how she used to do the same thing. Jack remembered one time when Desten and him were running threw the kitchen after Lucius and Jack almost falling but his mother caught him out of what seemed thin air. He missed those times, he missed her. Sometimes he wondered if they were still alive if they would be proud of him learning how to cook and all the new things that have came to the Darkwood manor. He hoped they would.

Jack snapped back at the sound of the fish popping in front of him. "So I think these will be done in the next fifteen to twenty minuets. I don't know about you Faye, but I'm starving. They better all get here soon and help set the table or we will eat without them." He said with a light smile tugging at the corners of his mouth.

Faythe hadn't realized how hungry she had been before it started to smell like that. She smirked slightly when she heard Jack's stomach growl, and looked over at him with the shake of her head and humor lighting up her mixmatched eyes. As always, she was more than happy when she was cooking. But she loved when he helped.

Sometimes she was a little sad he had gotten so good. Some of her very best memories came from teaching him how to cook, and she kind of missed that. But they had just as much fun actually doing some good instead of just destroying stuff during the learning process.

Faythe, lost in her memories, grabbed things she needed as she hopped around the room. She knew where everything was, but mostly because the lot of them didn't cook like she did. In fact, pretty much only herself and Elena had a real gift for it. Though the others could definitely survive.

She had just finished with the corn when Jack spoke behind her. "Hell, forget the,. It's my fish, I can be stingy if I want to." She grinned at the idea, but the truth was Faythe always over cooked for a reason--she liked feeding everyone. It was like her own personal way of proving she was actually worth something in the group. Besides, she liked taking care of them.

"Faye if you were to ever get stingy with your food or you and Elena decided to stop cooking I think the rest of us would starve." Jack said with a laugh. He was almost done when he herd the front door open and shut and some foot steps go up towards the rooms. "Sounds like they have started to finally get home." he said as he walked over and got some plates out to set the table.

"So as soon as we get done with dinner I think Serenity is going to want all of us to spar outside in the arena?" he said with a bit of excitement in his voice. It has been at least two weeks sense the last time they had a good rumble and tonight would be a full moon so they would all be at their best.

"I hope tonight goes well. Without Desten here to help control the shifts of some of the others this could get a little crazy." Jack said as he got the last plate and silverware set up. He started thinking of all the things that could go wrong and started to wonder if this really would be a good idea.

"Hey Faye, what do you think I should do?" He asked as he walked over to where she was. His blue eyes started to fill with the look of uncertainty and worry as he approached her hoping maybe she could help put his thoughts into a better perspective.

Faythe snickered at his words about getting stingy with the food as she went to help him set the table. It was true really, if either girl decided to only take care of themselves...she wasn't sure what the rest of the pack would do. Actually, given that the two girls who did cook were Beta's, she honestly wondered what they had done before. But that was a question to save for later dates.

She looked up when he mentioned sparing and grinned. It'd been awhile since they'd all gotten to have a bit of fun. Regardless, they were all going to phase anyway. The Mega's could stop themselves if they wanted, but the rests were slaves to the moonlight. Not that Faythe cared in the least. The rush a full moon gave....that was her favorite. It all put them at the very best.

"I'm sure everything will go fine," she said as she walked back into the kitchen and jumped up on the counter, keeping a close eye on the fish. "I think everyone's gotten the hang of themselves by now...at least I have so...I can help out." Faythe had always been a good shifter, but almost too good. She got overexcited and it switched the human from wolf part too far. She'd take off and not care who saw her or what she did. These days, she found a good balance.

She tore her eyes from the fish as the subject changed, and looked up at him when he was standing in front of her. "What's bothering you, love?" she asked, running her fingers through his hair. She knew he didn't like that sometimes...thought she was treating him like a child or something. Faythe was just affectionate. Touches and pet-names...those were her things.

Chaos chuckled a little at Roxana's comment about what he had done, "Hey you started that one." he said fallowing her out of the cave towards the house. He didn't mind the cold water being as warm blooded as he was he would be dry again in a matter of minuets. One of the biggest perks of being a lycan he had to admit.

Chaos fallowed her right up the stairs and into their bed room. He started to take his already drying clothes off when he caught a glimps of Roxana pulling off her cloths. He didn't know if it was the fact that she was his mate or the fact that he was a guy or if it was because she was so beautiful or maybe a combination of all of them that made him stair but at that point it didn't matter to him. Chaos couldn't help but think of how much he loved to watch her undress as bad as it sounded even to him. The way the dress hugged every curve of her body from her beautiful breasts, down her slender well toned core, over her gorgeously perfect butt and then past her long lushes legs. Her sudden smart ass question brought him out of his fantasy world.

"No, I don't have to, but I do like to." He said with a grin at her comment. "So I say we hurry and get downstairs while there is still food to be eaten." he said with a grin secretly hoping Roxana wasn't trying to read his thoughts while he was stuck in la la land. With that he turned around and opened up the door for her and made a gesture to the door way. "After you my lady." he said with a smart ass tone. Chaos even added a bit of a bow to really sell it.

If anyone else but Faythe had said those words to Jack he would have just left the conversation form either embarrassment or anger for being talked to like he was a child. He didn't know why he didn't care if she said it but to him it was good to hear form her and her saying that she was able to help made him feel even more secure about the spar for tonight.

"I just am afraid that things might get a little out of had with Desten not being here and all, but you are right that whether we have the spar or not everyone except the Alpha's will be forced to change. So i guess with the spar maybe it will be more controlled. Don't want the house being torn down while my brother's away. I would never hear the end of it." He said trying to make himself feel a little bit better.

"I just can't wait to be able to get rid of some of this stress. I could use a good match right now. I'm hoping who ever gets drawn as my opponent will be able to rise to the challenge." Jack said with a hint of sarcasm. He was never really the one to get a big head out of the family and if he ever said something that could come off as cooky it was most likely a joke. Which again didn't happen often.

"Ok I think the fish are done now. Lets get them off there and onto the table." He said as he got the fish off the stove and onto a plate. "I hope its edible this time." he said with a grin.

Elena laughed. Yeah, she remembered that well. She was still human when she caught that snake, sick and dreary and she still brought home a meal. The mention of Jack and Elena's eyes shifted down immediately. She couldn't help but smirk at the thought, though the idea of spending time with Jack, sparring struck her curiousity and Serenity knew why and she was sure Jack also did, unless he was clueless. She brushed her fingers through her hair and hopped over a small branch in their way.

"Later, I want to go and try to find some rabbit and deer. I don't know if I want to spar or not. Perhaps I should, incase I run into that man again." She whispered quietly, her hand pulling her wet hair over her shoulder. "Oh lets's hurry."

With that, Elena took off into a run. She could smell fish and she knew home was close by. Of course, she ran to the tree house first, gathered the lemons and tossed one to Serenity before she found the others.

"Hey!" She threw the lemons at Jack's feet.

Faythe smiled reassuringly at his worries. She knew they could handle it, but she understood why he was worried. Desten was technically the father of the group, and with him gone it was like the children were going to run free and burn down the world. Which was fairly ironic given that a lot of them--Faythe excluded--were much older than they looked.

She gave an undignified snort at his statement of how the food might taste. "Given that you cooked it, I can only pray so." She was sure it would be fine though. She, after all, taught him how to cook. If there was anything Faythe was cocky about it was her cooking skills.

Not long after they had just set to work than the door opened and Elena suddenly made her entrance, pelting Jacks feet with lemons. Something in the other Beta's chest tightened ever so slightly. It was no secret to anyone that the girl fancied her Mega, but...Faythe wasn't quite sure how she felt about that.

Perhaps that was what had suddenly started making her worry about what they were going to do when they suddenly found their mates. Rather Jack returned the feelings or not, she didn't know and she wasn't sure she wanted to know either. To be honest, she didn't like it...at all.

As to why, she wasn't sure. She didn't particularly think she wanted Jack in that way herself, but no one knew her like he did. Inside and out. She was afraid of having to share him...or losing his attention all together. She wasn't quite sure if she could survive without him.

She was selfish. She always had been. But she hoped if it came down to it, she wouldn't stand in the way of his happiness just because of how it may or may not effect her. So, she plastered a smile on her face. "Hey Elena."

"Hey wait up!" Serenity yelled as she ran after Elena. She was happy to see that Elena had so much energy and was even thinking about how the sparing would help her be more well equipped for the next time she runs into trouble. Serenity could sense how Elena felt about Jack and didn't really know what to say about the subject. Everyone in the family knew Jack had a problem when it came to girls in general plus he had his own beta even though it was never made clear if he liked Faythe like that or not. The boy never really talked that much let alone about how he felt so even Serenity was at a lose on what to say when it came to talking about Jack.

Serenity chased after Elena and followed her up into the tree house where she was met with a lemon. Her first instinct was to bite right into it but past experiences had told her that that was a bad idea. Elena was down the tree and at the door before Serenity even got to the porch on the back. When she entered the room she saw that Faythe and Jack had made and awesome meal for the whole family to enjoy. Her mouth was watering before she even realized it. "That smells awesome." she said before she sat down at her spot on the table.

Jack was about to put down the tray when Elena had burst threw the door with an arm full of lemons. "Where on earth did you find lemons this time in the season?" Jack asked looking in amazement. He looked back at Faythe and then back at Elena realizing the tension that just seemed to be so thick he could have ran into it like a wall. Jack could sense the mixed emotions form Faythe and could see them in Elena's eyes. "Well now that we have these lemons to add to the fish this meal is really complete." he said with a smile as he tried to dissipate some of the tension. He looked towards Serenity for some help but she was so focused on the food, she had already made half of a plate and was now about to start for the fish.

"Ok ladies lets find our seats while I go see what's taking Chaos and Roxana so long." Jack said in a lower kinda now shy voice. Moments like this really made him nervous. He didn't know what to do. Girls have always been his weakness and there was no hiding that. "Hey Faye can you make sure that Serenity doesn't take to much before the rest of us get the chance to have some?" He said with a bit of a smile.

"Hey i didn't take that much." Serenity said in objection. "and its not my fault the food is so good." She added with a bit of corn in her teeth.

Jack moved towards the door that led to the living room and stair well to see what was taking the other two so long, and so he could just get out of that room. He could hear Chaos and Roxana talking but didn't want to pry into the conversation. "Hey you two we are waiting on you." he said as he called up the stairs.

Serenity was looking at the two girls as they stood there not really moving from where Jack had left them. Poor boy doesn't even know the full extent of what is going on around him. 'Boys can be so thick headed some time,' She thought to herself. Or maybe he knew, he just didn't want to start things between the beta's. Who knew. Even with Faythe's amazing ability to read that kid she didn't even seem to know what was going on in his head and poor Elena was one of the very few girls Jack has ever really talked to outside of the family and Faythe. He was a hard one to read all right. Serenity came back out of the train of thought as her stomach started to growl. "I'm hungry, they need to hurry." She said with a huff.

Faythe couldn't help but grin when Serenity entered the room behind the Beta. "Why thank you," she said with a bow at the compliment to the food. Even if she didn't cook it all, she had caught it. Besides, the distraction took her off of all the tension that had built in the room.

She snorted as she sat down, and mumbled under her breath: "I bet I know what's taking Chaos and Roxanna so long." While Faythe had nothing against the pair separately, it was obvious they ground her nerves together. As the only two to have actually found their mate within the group, it was almost sicking watching them fawn over one another. Regardless, she knew why he said it. The built up tension and room full of girls made him nervous.

At the mention of Serenity and her eating habits, Faythe shook her head and pulled the plate of fish closer to herself, glaring at the other girl. Faythe laughed softly as she complained about her hunger, but not long after that the couple was joining them. Hand in hand, with their eyes all full of mushy shit. The moment Chaos pulled her chair out, Faythe faked gagging--a movement she convincingly covered up once the redhead was seated by Serenity, putting her in eyesight.

"Is this everyone?" Faythe asked, giving the table a head count. It seemed oddly small without Desten or Lucius' presence. Perhaps she was imagining it...or perhaps it was just because they were family and it felt weird without them. "Jacky, come sit love. Let's eat!"

Chaos couldn't help but feel like he had kinda screwed himself over with Roxana but at the same time that was one of the things he loved about her. Always kept him on his toes, but he still knew he was going to be kicking himself later for the bow. Roxana wasn't going to forget that. Chaos took his seat next to Roxana after helping her in her seat. He sat across the table form Faythe who seemed less than amused by them holding up the rest of the group form eating.

Jack nodded to Roxana as she asked him to hold them some food then quickly turned back and went towards the kitchen. Even though Jack was a Mega he still was afraid of Roxana. Not in a bad way at all but more of a respect kind of fear. Out of all the women in the family she was the newest and it was still kind of odd to him. As he entered to kitchen with Roxana and Chaos not far behind he looked over the table to make sure that everything was in place and that everyone had what they needed for the meal. Sadly the meal would have to be a quick one due to that soon the sun would be down and they would need to head outside for those who had to change on the nights of the full moon, but seeing as how everyone there had huge appetites he was sure that wouldn't be a problem.

Jack's train of thought was interrupted when he herd Faythe call to him, "Jacky, come sit love. Let's eat!"
"Ok I'm here." he said as he sat between Faythe and Elena and across form Roxana. He could feel how Faythe was about the couple and about the emptiness of the table due to Desten and Lucius missing.

Serenity looked to the door as Jack, Chaos and Roxana entered. She looked over as Roxana sat down next to her happy to see her sister. Now they where ready to eat and Serenity couldn't have been more happy. Her stomach felt like it was about to implode. It was Roxana's question and statement that brought her out of her hunger spell. "I'm doing pretty good and yes most definitely." she said with a smile. "So you two love birds have fun up there?" she said with a giggle as she looked up a Chaos who started to turn red.

Chaos looked at Serenity with a now red face. "Well wouldn't you like to know Sis." he said trying to play it off. Chaos was ready to eat and even more ready for the night to begin. It was a full moon so it was going to be a lot of fun around the house for sure.

"Alright everyone," Jack said as he stood up. " as we all know tonight is the night of the full moon. After we are done eating Serenity has perposed that we go out to the training arena and have a little bit a sparing match. Now I know not all of us are up to the idea but I believe it would do us all some good to practice a bit and try to ready ourselves for whatever the future may hold. I know that without Desten and Lucius here things could get a little wild," He said with a look at the two beta's, "But I'm hoping with the sparing we can keep the damage down to a minimum and still have some fun. So for now we eat and once we are done we head to the arena. Any objections?" Jack asked looking more a Chaos knowing his distaste for combat.

Chaos never really liked fighting but seeing as it was the night of the full moon he couldn't help but be a little excited himself. In truth the sparing sounded like a great idea to even him. He shook his head acknowledging Jack's look and question showing he had no objections.

With that Jack looked at Serenity who had the look of excitement in her eyes and a bit of hunger form the food right in front of her that she wasn't getting to enjoy. "Well then that is that. Now on to this food cause I don't know about you guys but I'm starving." Jack said as he looked around the table.

"Let's EAT!" Serenity Shouted as she dug into her plate.

Faythe gave Jack her full attention when he stood. She hadn't been worried at all about the full moon or the sparing until he began to speak, and then something flipped in her stomach. The Beta's all had a little difficulty with learning how to phase, but Faythe had been a wolf for almost a year and had gotten control over it. At least on her own.

The full moons...they messed with her inner balance or some weird shit like that. She lost her head, quite frankly. She didn't have any trouble with the actual phasing, but she had trouble holding onto herself and not going completely wolf-crazy. While she had been doing good enough that she actually believed it when she told Jack she could help out if things got out of hand, she was suddenly questioning herself.

It was the nightmares. They never went away. The ones where she would lose control, break from the pack, and hurt someone. She wasn't sure really when they started up, but the better she got at being a wolf, the worst they got. She never told Jack, not that they ever really had to tell each other anything.

As he finished talking and silence fell around the table, Serenity was shouting about food and Faythe shook off her negative feelings. With a smile on her face, she dug in. And was happy to know that it was delicious.

Dinner was over quickly seeing as all the family seemed to be starving and all were getting a little fidgety about the full moon. Jack could feel that something was bugging Faythe, but he didn't want to ask her at that moment for fear of making whatever it was worse on her.

Serenity was of course the first one done seeing as she ate like a staved animal when she got to hungry. "That was amazing." she yelled as she shot up from her seat. "So how are we going to decide who will spar who tonight?" she said as she washed her plate and put it out to dry.

"I'm thinking we should draw names from a hat." Chaos chimed in as he stood and took both his and Roxana's plates and washed them. He turned to face the group at the table. "I say this time we have the lower rank's pull the names out. We Megas shouldn't always get to make the deciding factors here." He said as he looked to Jack for what he might think about it.

"I agree but if a Mega is chosen by one of the lower rankers, what are we going to do. We can't very well have a Mega fight an Omega now can we?" Jack said in reply to a statement that he knew was more directed towards him.

"If an Omega or even a Beta picks a Mega then I say let it be up to the one who picked to decide if they want the Mega to go hard or stay safe." Serenity chimed in form the doorway that led outside towards the arena. She was already about to go out the door.

"I think that sounds fair enough." Chaos said in approval of what his twin was saying. He brushed his hand threw his hair and looked back over at Jack who was now over washing his, Faythe's and Elena's dishes.

"Well I'm not to sure but I guess if the others are ok with it than it works. But we need to do this quick. What are you guys's thoughts on this?" Jack said as he looked at the rest of the Lycans in the room.

Faythe had wanted to be the first one to jump up and get all the plates so that she could take her mind off of whatever stupid thing was bothering her, but she wasn't that lucky. Everyone was taking care of themselves, and Jack got her own plate.

So instead she focused on the topic at hand. She actually liked Chaos' idea, it was an interesting way to switch things up from now. "I agree with Renity," she spoke up. She was terrible about giving the others nicknames. "We do need to move though, I'm getting itchy."

That was how she described that intense need to change. It was like an itch, under her skin. Like fur waiting to burst free. The night of the full moon was always extra intense, but she wasn't sure who had it worse--the ones who were forced to change, or the Mega's who were drawn into it so strongly.

"Seriously, let's go." She jumped out of her seat, already following Serenity out. She knew being anxious would just force out the need to change even more, but she couldn't stop it either.

Roxana chuckled at Faythe's horrible nickname for Serenity. "Why don't we just call her Ren huh Faye?" Roxana asked standing and walking to the kitchen. Roxana, glided over to Chao's side and kissed him on the cheek. "You ready for this?" she asked as she clasped her hand in his. Everyone made their way out of the house into the arena. The arena was very simple to the left and right were benches for them to rest on while they waited on their turn. Unfortunately the arena area was only big enough for them to fight two at a time. It was 100 yards by 30 yards there was no grass or plant life in the arena. Only two boulders one each on either side of the arena at the 25 yard mark. The boulders were the starting points each lycan stood on top of the boulders waiting on the command to fight.

When everyone had made their way outside the sun seemed to be taking it's sweet time giving up the sky to the moon. Roxana was volunteered to draw first by Chaos because it was his idea. Roxana drew a name out of a hollowed out stump. Roxana smiled as she read the name on the tiny piece of paper. "Faye honey looks like it's you V.S. me." she teased walking past Faythe with a playfully smug attitude. That meant that it was Elena's turn to draw a name. Elena drew Chao's name. Roxana chuckled with delight at the sound of the two of them sparing. That meant that the last match would be Serenity V.S. Jack.

After all the decisions were made. The sun had said it's goodbyes and was hiding behind the water's edge. The best thing about the arena was the view. It was directly across from the beach and the sea glistened like diamonds when the full moon came out to show it's beauty. As soon as the moon light touched Roxana's skin she didn't resist the change knowing it would only make it more painful. Roxana had shifted enough times that the pain wasn't unbearable but it defiantly wasn't something she wanted to go threw every night.

"Your coat looks so beautiful tonight Babe." Chaos said after watching Roxana shift. "Have fun but please remember we are all family here." he said with a bit of a chuckle knowing he didn't really need to say anything, he just liked to tease a little bit. With that Chaos turned and hurried out of the arena to watch from the sidelines with the others.

Jack was a little afraid of how this fight might turn out, not like he was doubting Faythe in the slightest, she was exceptionally talented as a beta, but he knew Roxana was not one to be taken lightly. Jack came up and put his hand on his beta and smiled to show his faith in her abilities. "Good luck." he said as he gave her a quick hug. Jack stepped back outside of the arena and stood next to Elena and Chaos.

"This is going to be awesome. Not only do I get to be the Referee for the first fight, but I get to fight little Jacky at the end." Serenity said with excitement as she skipped to the center of the arena, the light of the full moon lit the area as if it were daytime. This night was perfect for this. She could feel the rays being absorbed by her body and she wished so bad to transform but wanted to save it for her battle. "So we all know the rules of the sparing. No low blows, Powers are allowed and of course buy no circumstance is there allowed any killing of your opponent, a little maiming here and there, well we are lycans." she said with bright smile and a slight giggle. "Alright girls I hope you are ready." Serenity spun around and lit and orb of light in her hand. She tossed it up into the air where it rose and exploded like a firework. "Let the first spar begin." She shouted as the light form the orb faded.

Everyone visited and laughed at each other’s losses and mistakes. The laughter seemed to be cut with a hot knife as a blood curtailing howl filled the air. Everyone seemed to stop breathing at that very moment everyone terrified to turn their eyes to the direction of the terrifying howl. The newest members of the pack all turned to their alpha mega with eyes asking ‘what was that?’ All except for Roxanna who turned to Chaos with fear in her golden eyes as she slowly shifted back to her human form trying to make the least amount of noise. Seeing Roxanna shift the rest who were still in their true form did as well trying to do it as quietly as possible.

Jacky turned to face Chaos with horror in his eyes. “This can’t be happening.” He whispered. Another howl cut threw the air. Chaos took Roxana’s hand, Serenity ran and grabbed Elena’s hand, and Jack sent Faythe with Roxana and Chaos. Jack stayed behind them as they all ran. Elena and Faythe still confused as to where they were going and why they were running away. Chaos looked behind him to Jack. “Come with us!” he yelled desperation in his voice. Jack stood there thinking of what would be best. Roxana let go of Chaos’s hand and ran to Jack. She grabbed his hand and pulled him behind her. Jack was shocked at her grasp. Roxana and Jack were not as close as they probably should have been.

The six of them ran into the woods dodging trees and trying to gain some distance from the nightmare following closely behind them. The sound of crushing trees filled their ears as more howls filled the air there were now two of them. They ran and ran they ran for what felt like hours but it was only a few minutes. Tears of fear swelled in Roxana’s eyes. Chaos could feel the fear coming off his love. He let go of Faythe who pressed on. He fell back to Roxana’s side and held her hand. Jack knew they’d be fine and let go running closely behind them.

Soon they were in a part of the mountain they’d never been before the terrain was unknown to them and they found themselves on the top of a cliff with a waterfall running harshly over the edge. They ran into the water close to the edge. Elena and Serenity were the first to stop at the edge and gaze down in to the mist below. The bottom of the waterfall couldn’t be seen from where they stood. When Jack got to the edge he looked down then looked behind him the howls sending chills down his spine. He grabbed Elena and pushed her over the edge into the unknown. Serenity became furious but before she could say anything Chaos had pushed her over the edge as well. Faythe knew what was coming and chose to jump instead of being pushed. Roxana, Jack and Chaos stood in the water. “Roxana go!” Chaos demanded. Roxana got closer to the edge and turned to look at them both. “We’ll be waiting for you.” She said before she free fell over the edge closing her eyes and praying for the best.

Jack and Chaos looked at one another and then towards the howls behind them. “It’s not worth it Jack.” Chaos knew Jack was thinking about being a distraction. “Desten will kill me if you don’t jump. You go first I’ll be right behind you.” Chaos demanded. Jack knew deep down Chaos was right but it was his responsibility to keep everyone safe. Chaos knew they were taking too long and grabbed Jack’s shoulder and forced them to both go over the edge.

Everyone was waiting on the shoreline soaking wet, shivering, their lips turning blue from the cold. Chaos and Jack emerged from the mist both upset with each other. Roxana ran up to Chaos and hugged him tightly. “We’re not safe yet we can’t stop.” Jack interrupted their moment. “What are we running from?” Elena asked running up to Jack. “Alpha Supremes.” Jack replied not even making eye contact with her.

A smell filled Jack’s nostrils he knew this smell but it was almost like a surprised memory. Jack headed forward everyone following behind him. He led them into the woods once more this time he was searching for something not running. The closer they got to whatever Jack was looking for Chaos and Serenity started to remember this smell as well. As they drifted closer the smell started to mingle with a new smell well new to everyone but Jack. When Jack caught whiff of the second smell he charged on faster towards the unknown.

Finally Jack came to a stop looking around searching with anger in his eyes. Suddenly the howls rang threw the air once more this time they were closer than they’d ever been. Jack turned to face the howls and before he could get fifteen feet away from the group an Alpha Supreme had tackled him to the ground growling in his face. The other Alpha Supreme was nowhere to be seen.

Out of nowhere Chaos felt himself being thrown into a nearby tree threw the tree and into another. He could hear Roxana’s screams. Faythe, Elena, and Roxana were face to face with an Alpha Supreme. The nightmare humans tell their children about. The monster that kill anything in their path even other lycans just for the fun of it. They have the strength of ten lycans and have been locked away and mostly forgotten.

Free falling was nothing new to Elena. She had done it so many times before, off of numerous cliffs when she was sending her early mornings running. However, the ending result was definitely different from what she was used to. Falling toward the unknown may have been the perfect explanation. She didn’t have time to object. She was pushed off and everything seemed to move into slow motion. Thoughts of whether they would survive the fall flooded her mind, what was at the bottom, what was going on? The water engulfed her and she didn’t have time to react. Ice cold water swallowed her whole and her entire body was tugged undertow. Her arms and legs thrashed, forcibly trying to get her head above water. She felt like every bone in her body threatened to shatter from how cold it was. Her organs threatened to shut down right at that moment, but Elena knew she had to fight it. She had to fight the urge to let the water take her down.

Finally, her head popped out of the water and she felt the shoreline. Dragging her body out of the water was a difficult task and she somehow managed. Her lips were turning blue, her clothes and hair was drenched and her entire body trembled as she collapsed onto the ground. But she was forced to her feet, following Jack into the trees. “What are we running from?!” She asked, coughing up water as she ran up to Jack.

He answered and for a moment, she wasn’t sure if she understood. Out of nowhere, Chaos was thrown to the side and Elena turned to look at his attacker. Her heart had stopped then and her eyes widened as she settled her gaze on what she believed was just a ghost story. Her lips chattered and carefully, her body stepped back, as if hesitant to run.

“
” Elena couldn’t bring herself to say a word. She had no weapons upon her person. Her eyes however, seemed to glistened over, as she allowed her instincts to take over. She was not going to turn into her true form. No, she was much too cold for that
but she knew she would have to fight. No matter the form she choose, she would have to fight.

“Faythe, Roxana.” Elena said, oddly calm. “Don’t run from it.” She ordered. Elena stared at the beast dead in the eyes as she stepped back.

She craned her neck slightly
and it cracked. She felt ready
as ready as she could ever be at that moment.

Roxana looked over her shoulder every fiber of her being wanting to run to Chaos’s side but she feared if she moved an inch the beast in front of her would attack. Faythe’s heart raced as she stared up at the monster growling fangs glistening in the moonlight. Elena’s brave words made the alpha supreme smile on the inside. This would be fun for the two of them. Being locked away for 100 years now was their chance to have some fun.

The beast standing in front of the girls let out a roar causing them all to collapse to the ground. Roxana and Faythe covering their ears trying to regain their balance. The beast circled around them waiting for one of them to try to stand. Chaos made his way to his feet fighting the urge to charge the alpha supreme holding his lover hostage.

Suddenly a roar of pain sounded threw the air as the alpha supreme that was once holding Jack to the ground reared up holding its right eye with its gristly arms. Blood dripped threw its fingers and down the side of its face. Standing behind it was a woman, she was tall and slender, and she had hair of fire and entrancing emerald green eyes. She was wearing little to nothing with just two pieces of canvas covering her important parts. One wrapped around her bust and one making a ragged skirt. However the most noticeable aspect of this woman was her jewelry.

She had a belt made of nothing but hand carved wooden beads and almost glowing vampire fangs held together with leather she’d tanned herself. She had two matching bracelets and ankles that hung loosely against her thin figure. Her prize was the single set of fangs on her necklace with her mother’s locket in the center of two emeralds with fangs framing the shimmering gems.

Her jewelry was an outstanding symbol of her in human ability to hunt and kill vampires if you were to count all the fangs adorning her body it would account for thirty four vampires who lost their lives to this slender framed woman. She stood with two makeshift daggers one in each hand turned inward the one in her right hand dripping with the lycan’s blood.

Elena was more aggravated than shocked to see the new girl appear at the perfect time. What bothered her the most was that this large creature in front of him had to have come, after her first shift. Her hands clenched together and she thought back to one weapon, just one that she kept in her boot. It wasn't that grand but she figured it could at least aid her in some way. Elena carefully got back to her feet , withdrawing her blade from her boot as she did so, and took a deep breath. I'm going for his head. She thought, squeezing the hilt of her blade. It was only as long as from her waist to just above her knee. Thick, but not so long.

Elena was agile. She was gifted with flips and free running. Her blond hair hung, soaked, over one shoulder. Her eyes remained locked on the beast's, as if studying it for a moment.

Then she ran. She didn't run directly at it, she wasn't that insane. She circled around the creature to a near by tree and leaped up, grabbing a branch and throwing herself into the tree. She didn't wait any longer. She flipped out of the tree, and onto the creature's back.

She intended to stab it with the end of her blade, drive it into his skull. But if it intervened...who knew what the outcome could be.

The Supreme became annoyed with Elena's presence and calmly reached back and threw her off its back onto the ground below with terrifying force. Elena was thrown right into Roxana's path Roxana dodged Elena, headed for the Supreme with throwing knives in hand. She threw three of the blades at the Supreme it didn't even bother dodging it simply raised its arm. The blades went into the Supremes flesh it didn't even so much as flinch. The Supreme slowly lowered its arm to reveal its stone cold silver eyes staring deep into Roxana's soul. The blades simply falling to the ground the moon light reflecting off the silver and blood.

The woman ignored Jack's thank you and kept her focus on the beast in front of them. She'd never seen a monster such as this. They were believed to be legend killed off by humans and vampires alike. Creatures of the moon lit night, howls that haunt your dreams, fur as dark as shadows, and eyes that see threw to your soul. The beast stood around eight feet tall towering above her. Its fangs shimmering in the moon light craving flesh between them. It’s blood boiling with anger at the human’s bold attack. No human had even dared to stand up to this Supreme in over a century.

Fun was fading from this Supremes mind as the pain of its right eye seeped deeper into its skull. It was impressed at the woman’s bravery but not enough to spare her life. The Supreme raised its powerful monstrous right arm claws extended ready to rip threw her slender frame. It swept down with speed invisible to the human eye. The next thing anyone knew the woman was rolling to a stop to the left of the beast. It looked down at its arm blood dripping down to its claws but, it wasn’t the human’s blood like one would be expecting.

The woman’s blades were now embedded in the Supremes flesh. Jack had formed a shield between the human and the Supreme thought the force of the blow alone sent her flying. To everyone’s surprise the woman quickly got to her feet and disappeared into the trees.
