A tale of love and power, greed and wealth as a young girl fights to win over the love of her life while trying to take over her family business.

Lile O'Rourke
Lile O'Rourke was the third daughter of Harold O'Rourke, the assumed heir of O'Rourke Advertising. Her mother, Mary, didn't want her from the very beginning and gave her to a Nanny instead. The relationship between Lile and her parents were strained from that very moment and would always be, especially as they doted on Lile's two elder sisters. She grew, learned and led her life until when she was 10 years old, her grandfather decided to retire from CEO of O'Rourke Advertising. There was a great discussion between the partners and executives over who would be the next heir, as it had to remain in the family and family only.

Lile's grandfather finally decided that Lile would be the heir as her father didn't want anything to do with the business, having no desire to lead the company. But with Lile being only ten, she couldn't exactly become the CEO. So it was decided that her father would act in her place until she was twenty one years old and ready to take over.

It wasn't until she was fourteen years old, that her life changed. At a Christmas Party she saw Ryan Lewis, the newest employee who as a favourite of Harold's and who had also caught the eye of her mother. Being a teen, she didn't know what her feelings were but she knew she wanted Ryan at any cost.

Ryan Lewis
Ryan Lewis was born in Washington D.C to a doctor and teacher. A typical All-American boy, who knew what he wanted and how to get it. He dreamed of working at O'Rourke Advertising on Fifth Avenue, New York City and that dream was big but Ryan knew he was going to accomplish it. He started college at Columbia University and within his first year, applied for a job at O'Rourke Advertising and managed to get it. His life was nearly complete.

Within a couple of months of working there, Ryan caught the attention of Mary O'Rourke and she caught his attention. A little flirting here and there, they soon started an affair which would become so serious that Mary thought about leaving her husband and Ryan was shopping for engagement rings. It was never meant to be however and the affair ended when Harold nearly found out. The event caused Ryan to turn cold to anyone who tried to get close to him, not wanting to go through the experience again though deep down he still loved Mary.

The Story So Far...
Lile is now seventeen and a beautiful young woman, full of plans and ideas. But her heart still wants Ryan and she now plans to get him. And this is where we'll start.

Lile was nervous and hated waiting. The elevator that was taking her to the top floor seemed to be taking forever and it didn’t help that her stomach was rolling around like a rollercoaster. She had been nervous before, such as the time when she had to give a presentation in front of her class, but this was different. This wasn’t going to improve her grade; this was going to change her life for better or for worse.

Taking a deep breath, Lile redid her ponytail and took a quick glance at the reflection in the material of the elevator. She was young, turning eighteen next year and pale skin with green eyes and red hair was a clear indication of her Irish heritage and the fact that she was an O’Rourke. Her ancestors had travelled from Ireland in the 1700’s to New York City, looking for a better life and here they were now with one of the most successful advertising businesses in the world with a company in each state and each country.

She was proud of where she came from, though she was actually born in California, but nothing would ever compare to the Big Apple. The elevator came to a stop and a small ‘ding’ shook her from her thoughts as she arrived at the floor she wanted. This was it. There was no turning back.

Lile had carefully picked out of her outfit of white jeans with a pale blue blouse, keeping it summery yet youthful and bright. No flesh on show apart from her arms. She didn’t want to give the impression she was the kind of girl who liked to show a lot of cleavage and flash her legs everywhere, she wasn’t like that at all.

She began to make her way down the corridors, taking a quick glance around every now and then to make sure most of the offices were empty. Many people had gone on their lunch break so Lile knew that the top floor would pretty empty of people and that suited her fine. She came to stop outside a door at the end of the corridor, which had ‘Ryan Lewis’ on it and gave it a quick knock. Hearing nothing, Lile turned the handle and opened the door enough to poke her head around the opening.

“Ryan, are you here?”

Ryan's office was a large and airy room, with light colours and contrasting paintings covering the walls. With his desk and computer at one end surrounded by books, files and papers the majority of the room was filled with a large oaken conference table lined with black leather seats at the other. The room was adorned with plants, utensils and objects that eluded a warm homely atmosphere and huge wall of glass gave him a spectacular view of New York City.

The suited 25 year old, was busy at his computer typing away on a report he had to complete before an upcoming deadline.Brushing his hand through his short brown yet spiky hair,he was well aware that it was his lunch break but insisted on staying behind to finish up, and as Lile's face poked through the door his head turned in surprise and he felt a knot in his stomach.

"Come in,' he replied rather brashly, a tone you would befall to someone you didn't have time for and apparently,in Ryan's case your bosses daughter.

Ryan's mind flicked to images of him and Mary, Lile's mother, and the times they had shared before they broke their affair off. Ever since his demeanor with other people, clients included, had chilled into a mash of harsh,sharp-tongued monotony.

"Is this going to be quick? I have work to get done" he asked almost annoyed with the disruption, but clearly he had other issues on his mind.

Lile raised a single red eyebrow, glancing over at him as he sat behind his rather imposing desk. Lile closed the door behind her and walked over to one of the black leather chairs in front of his desk, slowly sitting down though the tick near his eye indicated that he wanted her nowhere near him right now. She couldn't blame him for being a bit anti-social, with what happened with her mother and of course, she knew all about it. She had witnessed it first hand and said nothing but it seemed that she didn't have to.

"Sorry for intruding," she muttered and wondered what else she was going to say. Lile hadn't really planned on talking to him, that wasn't the reason why she was here but she supposed that small talk was better than nothing. Unable to keep still, Lile stood and walked around his desk to take a quick glance at the report he was working on. She made sure not to lean too far over his shoulder but got close enough to read the small handwriting, narrowing her green eyes as she read his report.

It wasn't going to do any good just standing near him, while Ryan expected her to say something or leave. She was going to have to do it. Simple as that.

'I must be mad,' Lile thought to herself. Here she was, seventeen years old and madly in love with a man who was eight years her senior. Madness didn't exactly cover it. It would be a relationship that wouldn't work. It would be a relationship based on sexual desire and not love...but Lile loved him and couldn't stop, she wouldn't stop.

Taking a deep breath, Lile learned forward as Ryan turned his head to look at her and made sure her lips were firmly placed on his.

This was it.

No turning back.

A weary eye was all he kept on her delicate and petite frame as she moved her way around the contours of the room. It wasn't long before he refocused on the task at hand, 'and therefore i propo-' he turned his head and a waft of sweet smelling perfume. and the sound of a deep breath caught his attention and as he turned the moment phased away. The warmth of her purposefully positioned lips coursed through him, a stark reminder of long lost kisses shared between two lovers, he found himself kissing her back for the briefest of moments... and suddenly reality struck and the feelings turned to worry and angst.

He pulled back sharply and reality dawned upon him, 'What was that?' he asked sternly, thoughts turning to those of his boss and the threat this could pose to his job. 'You can't just do that Lile, its...err.. unprofessional.'

Unproffessional? is that all he could come up with? he thought to himself. Surely the fact she was underage, would have been a better excuse, but no it wasn't until then that crossed his mind, he had to admit she was, well...attractive. At least for someone of her age but nevertheless he looked at her sharply awaiting a meaningful explanation.

Lile was starting to realise that she hadn't planned this through properly, even though she dreamed of this day since she was fourteen, it wasn't turning out how she thought it would. Yes, she knew he would reject her in some way but she also thought Ryan would fall to her knees in a way. "I'm sorry...I...." she couldn't speak properly and her cheeks turned the same colour as her hair as she stared down at Ryan with her green eyes.

Did she offer to take him to lunch and explain what her feelings were? Did she simply blurt everything out? No! He could never know she loved him. Ryan would surely reject her and tell her parents. She didn't know what to do.

The answer came with her pressing her lips back to his, her soft hands grabbing his face to hold him in place so Ryan didn't have a chance to escape. Let him enjoy this for now and let him see her for who she was. They could have a relationship in secret, it would work somehow.

Ryan was uneasy with the developing situation that was for certain, and as Lile's bright green eyes transfixed upon his own he could sense the hint of panic developing through her body language. Once more he was taken off guard when the soft touch of Lile's hands surrounded his face and once more brought their lips together.

The first few moments were tentative, but as soon as the pace picked up Ryan's mind was all over the place, one part of him was enjoying the teasing edge of this beautiful young woman, and the other part of him was flaring with warning signs.

It took him several seconds longer than he'd of liked to back off from the kiss, partly down to the butterflies fluttering in his stomach, before he said. 'What has gotten into you?' his voice cracked on the final word showing some of his protective layers had been ripped apart and there was some emotion inside him.

He stared at her almost dazed, before turning back to his computer and resting his head in his hands. What was he so worried about? he thought, its not like shes not beautiful, not to mention a damn good kisser. His eyes slipped to her lips and just as the faint tremors of a smile were about to erupt on his face, he said, 'I think you need to leave.'

There was no point in trying to force him to make a decision then and there, Lile decided. Ryan would end up completely losing his temper and having her thrown out the building, whether she was the daughter of his boss or not. She would have to leave him to it for now and let him think, let him get on with his day...and then decide what to do later.

Nodding, Lile pulled away after placing the briefest of kisses onto his cheek and moved over to the chair where she originally sat. Lile picked up her woven rucksack and slipped it onto her back, pausing only briefly to take a look at Ryan who hadn't moved at all from where he sat. Walking over, she took a piece of paper from his desk and wrote down her phone number in case he decided to message her...or was that wishful thinking on her part?

She took one final glance at him then left his office, disappearing into the crowds of New York City as she headed towards Central Park and home. Her work was done for now. It was all up to Ryan to take the next step.

He just stared straight, into lost space where his thoughts could carry weighty messages and feelings could make themselves privately aware. She kissed him on the cheek and his eyes shut as though he was pushing back some sort of pain.

When he reopened his eyes he found a sheet of paper with a number on it, delicately written by a smooth and intricate hand that undoubtedly belonged to Lile, and as the door closed, he raised off his chair and began to pace.

'What was that all about?' he thought out loud, and the truth was he had no idea that she had even begun to feel anything for him, let alone want to kiss him, he simply had never looked at her that way. But now that he did, he found her mysterious and new and remarkably attractive and it lifted his negative thoughts that were shrouded with Mary. Something oddly comforting lingered in the kisses he had just experienced and he surprisingly longed for more.

He pulled the phone out of his pocket and keyed in the number, 'Text or phone?...Text less nticabe in public.'
it took him the next 15 minutes to finally send the message saying.

'Well that was an unexpected surprise.'

It was a message that showed he acknowledged her, and that he wasn't upset at her, yet it didnt lead her on, it allowed her the option of opening up should she wish too and to forget about the situation completely if she thought it a mistake.

With just editing to do now on the report Ryan, although distracted, pushed on through to finish his report.

Lile didn't reply to the text message for over an hour as she sat in her bedroom, glancing over at the view of Central Park from her window. She had been home a lot longer than that, completely ignoring her mother who was talking to builders over renovations and her father who had escaped to his office to ignore the bill that would be later coming his way. Lile doubted she could face them after what had happened in Ryan's office.

'What I am going to say?' Lile thought as she stared once again at the message, wondering if she should reply with something flirty or nothing at all. Slowly, Lile touched the touch screen and typed in the message. "There's always more where that came from," Lile muttered as she typed it and sent it off.

God, that did sound flirty and it made her sound easy which she wasn't. Hell, she never had a boyfriend not that you could find one at an all girls school. What would happen if they did start a relationship? They would have to hide it from everyone, and how would they do that? Book motel rooms? Go to his apartment? It sounded too unreal...yet, there was the possibility of it happening.

The thought of it caused butterflies to appear in Lile's stomach and she stared at her phone, wondering what answer he would send.

Ryan finally straightened his expensively tailored suit jacket out and stored all the relevant documents in a briefcase for him to look over at home. The day had been eventful and he could do with a nice cup of freshly ground coffee to wash away any troubles.

'Taxi!' he yelled as he pushed his way out into the street eyes open to an array of clched yellow cabs each trying to find passengers to ship around the big apple. He stepped into an oncoming cab and closed the door as he signalled the driver to head the few blocks to his apartment. He thought about Lile on his journey, as he had done much of the day, but he imagined her more intracately remembering the soft curve to her lips that hed encountered so unexpectedly earlier and the long lines of her neck that were elegant and pale.

'That's four dollars,' the taxi driver ordered quite friendily as he pulled to the curb 'Quit obsessing over what ever your thinking about, itll be the death of you' he said as he was paid his fare. Ryan stepped out off the car with the drivers words in his head, and walked up to his building and unlocked the door.

A minimalistic view on a modern world would be the words used to describe Ryans place by any knowledgeable designer. It was tidy, yet with a homely feel, and as he made his way to the shower room where he already had a change of clothes waiting for him his phone went off.

Theres plenty more where that came from.

A reply from Lile, his heart quickened a beat and he had to clear the lump in his throat before he put the phone down on the side and made his way into the shower.

AS his muscular figure fell prey to the sweltering temperature of the water over his body, Ryans mind cleared. He had decided he liked Lile enough to play with her a little over the phone, and at this thought he smirked.

'I bet there is, Miss O'Rourke, should i ask your parents if you can come out to play?

He hoped this message would tease her but also warn her, that there were obstacles before them if anything was to happen.

The sound of 'Secrets' by One Republic shook Lile out of her thoughts, as she stared at homework that she wanted to make a start on even though she had two or more months to complete it. She reached over from where she sat at her desk and grabbed her phone from the top of the history textbook. Ryan had finally replied.

"Should I ask your parents if you can come out to play?" Lile read, her lips curving into a smirk as a chuckle escaped. It took turned into full blown laughter as she read the message again and again. Who knew that he could have a funny side to him? She sat at her desk for a while, staring at the message before dropping the phone onto her pile of textbooks. He seemed serious about this. Or was he just expecting a girl who would tumble around with him in his bed? That caused Lile to frown deeply and she stood, walking over to the windows.

She loved him. She loved him the minute she met him at her parent's annual Christmas party when she was fourteen years old and he had been staring at the family portrait in the hallway of their Hampton home. He was younger back then, fresh and eager to please. And that had been the time when his affair with her mother was well under way. It disgusted her deeply how her own mother could play a man around, using him for her own gains just like her mother.

Mary O'Rourke was a nothing until she met Lile's father, Harold, and married into wealth. A simple girl now experiencing wealth beyond anyone's imagination and having two girls in her mirror image. But Lile wasn't like her mother or her sisters. She was a proper O'Rourke with red hair and green eyes. She was the future of the business...not that anyone knew that but still.

Letting out a snort, Lile looked at her phone. If he wanted someone who would be a quick tumble in his bed, then he was getting something completely different entirely. She would make him love her. It would take a while but he would fall for her and she would keep him, have him and never let go.

Taking a deep breath as she walked over to her phone, Lile typed a message back and threw the phone back down. 'No, they don't have to know anything. Just you and me. Whenever. Wherever.'

Let the battle start.

With a college hoody slunked over his muscular torso, Ryan walked barefooted into the kitchen donning his favourite sweats. He pulled a loaf off sliced bread from a shelf and begun preparing a Peanut butter and jam sandwich. He hadn't eaten all day but he found his metabolism to be quite steady due to his normal regular food patterns and his half hour excercise routine every day.

His trouser bottoms folded over the ends of his feet as the soft, fluffy carpet embraced the crevices around it. andjust as he went to sit o his comfy corner leather sofa, he heard his phone. He suddenly became alert and found himself moving fast to the source, the small table hed left his phone at before entering the shower. Hair still wet, he turned tthe phone off standby and continued to the message.

'No, they don't have to know anything. Just you and me. Whenever. Wherever he smiled a sensitive smile, not one of his more callous versions used to settle clients, and for the firsttime in a long time his thoughts were happy, not morose and dreaming of days gone. He eagerly pushed at the keys to his phone to begin typing....only to stop. He picked up a phone directory and searched the pages trying to find something, before dialling

Hi there i'd like to book a table for two please...tonight, Mr Ryan Lewis, ok thats perfect thank you in advance.'

He had booked a resturaunt on eleven madison squae in the hope that this will either make or break her.... if she showed up she cared enough about him not to be concened of the public, if she didnt then it was all behind closed doors where she could keep him quiet. and so he text her...

' A Driver shall be waiting for you at 7:30,
be careful what you wish for.
Ryan xx

He smirked as his phone switched to standby, he'd already dealt with the driver, and so he went to prepare himself for the firstdate he'd had since Mary.

The words in the textbook were slowly starting to blur as Lile tried to get a head start on her homework. It had taken her over an hour to get a couple of paragraphs onto her laptop and it seemed to be utter nonsense, none of it making sense to her at all but then her mind wasn't really on homework. She had become so focused on waiting for Ryan's response, so wrapped up in wondering and thinking that she couldn't concentrate on anything else.

Her thoughts were broken however when she heard the front door slam shut. Taking a quick peek out the window, Lile saw her parents with her two sisters stepping out and into a cab. 'Huh, didn't even invite me,' Lile thought with a quiet snort to herself as she moved away from the window as her phone went off once again.

The message that Ryan sent threw her. Was he serious? He must be. Lile looked towards the clock and cursed when she noticed she had only quarter of an hour to get ready. Using every curse word she knew, Lile tore through her closet and quickly grabbed a dress with a black pair of shoes. 'Shower or not?' Lile thought and took another glance at the time, noting she was running out of it.

"Stupid clothes," muttered Lile as she knew she had spent too long trying to find the perfect dress.

She made it to the front door with five minutes to spare, checking her reflection in the mirror as she wanted for her ride. Lile had picked a black bandage bodycon dress, with a sweetheart neckline and studded capped shoulders/sleeves. It went straight to her knees and she accompanied her outfit with a pair of simple black high heeled shoes with her emerald ring and a pair of silver studs in her ears. Her red hair was done up in a complicated French knot and no make up, only lip balm on her lips.

In no time at all, the driver had arrived and was currently taking her to the restaurant at Madison Square. Her stomach clenched with nerves and her hands became sweaty as the car stopped, the driver opening the door to let her out and she slowly moved to the restaurant, opening the door and walking into the entrance.

"Now, where is he?" she muttered as she waved off one of the waitresses as she would look for him herself.

Ryan had spent every spare second choosing the perfect outfit, in the end he chose a suave and sophisticated black suit with a low cut that enhanced the large splaying collar of his white shirt, his hair was done in his normal ryan half spiky style and he wore solid silver cufflinks which nipped the sleeves in perectly at his wrist. An alluring and expensive aftershave slightly spicy something probably by a top brand designer like Gucci or D&G, heightened the feel of his freshly cleaned face and he was looking better than ever.

He had arrived a few minutes early just a precaution to be sure everything was in order and to his surprise, everything had run smoothly so far. He watched as the beautiful young woman stepped out o the car and moved her way nervously to the door. He had to admit he was slightly apprehensive, who knows what lay in fates plans for tonight, but he would take it as it comes.

'Good evening Miss O'Rourke,' he said in his warm friendly and slightly seductive tone, as he stepped around from behind her taking one hand with his own and placing the other at the small of her back. She was so warm, and delicate, like a freshly picked flower on a sunny afternoon.

'You look...' he stumbled on his words before resuming 'Its lovely to see you.' he said his eyes focused on the beautiful green hues in her own.

'Come, let us sit,' he said leading her past the tranquil yet occupied areas of the resturaunt before opening a door into a lower lit room, and a table for two laid, waiting for guests.

It was quite amusing to watch a man who could talk his way into getting a million dollar contract, stumble on complimenting a woman. But either way, whatever he was going to say had Lile blushing slightly as she followed him to the table. It was quite astounding how much thought and planning had gone into making this date seem perfect. It caused Lile to smile as she sat down, smoothing out her dress after placing her bag on the floor.

"You didn't have to go all out and try to impress me," Lile said as she glanced around at the restaurant. She may come from a wealthy family that could afford a lavish lifestyle but Lile wasn't the same. She liked simple and small diners would have suited her either way. "But it's very nice, so thank you."

She took a sip of the water that was left there, knowing full well none of the staff at the restaurant would serve her any alcohol because of her age, not that she wanted any. She hated the stuff. Lile sat the glass back down and lean backed in her seat, leaving the menu alone for the moment.

"So, here we are. I didn't expect you to get in contact with me at all," Lile admitted as she folded her arms under chest as she looked at Ryan, who looked very cool and dashing in his very attractive suit.

Ryan felt a little ashamed of his forth-planning, and hid the expressions from her whilst taking his seat opposite her. Her presence, the way she had dressed, the way she talked all reminded him that she probably went out to places like this all the time, she was brought up with this lifestyle and that made him wonder whether it was such a good idea at all.

He wanted her to be comfortable, in a place where she could share her thoughts and feelings to him without fear of prejudice. They were alone, that was a start.

Struggling to place his callous overlay aside, and to show his more sensitive side made him pause, and think his words through carefully.

'I want you to know that what you say in this room stays in this room, i dont want you to hide yourself from me as you so clearly have done for-...' He looked around the room awkwardly, trying to pick the best words he could find before casting them off a few times in frustration. 'What happened in my office, that doesn't just happen, and it bugs me i haven't picked up on...this before.' he looked at her straight in the eye.

'Its a shame i haven't realised before how gorgeous you look, and should it have been otherwise, maybe things would be different, and not so constricting.'

He picked up a menu and replaced it upon thinking that there was only on thing he was hungry for and that was the feeling he encountered when her lips pushed to his. He took a sip of the wine a waiter had pre-poured for him and hoped that his emotional outburst wasn't going to fall upon the ears of the teenage girl sitting before him and instead the mature nature of the young woman she had grown to become.

Lile's lips twitched in a smile, watching him intently as he struggled over his words and for something to say. She felt a sense of pride that she had reduced him to a quivering mess, a man note sure what to do with this female in front of him when she knew that the Ryan at work could talk to any female without so much as a stutter. But here he was, shifting awkwardly and fiddling with anything in front of him.

She had caused this, so she smirked to herself.

"I wasn't going to exactly shout my feelings from the highest building in New York. That would have gotten all of us in trouble, mostly me though I'm sure most people will shrug it off as some kind of infatuation and that I'll get over it eventually. Well, I've been feeling this 'infatuation' since I was fourteen so I doubt it's going to go away." Lile explained, snorting ever so slightly as she knew full well that if their relationship was ever discovered, no matter what it was, she knew she would get the blame.

Ryan, after all, was the apple in the companies eye. They weren't going to lose him over a girl, no matter who she was. She wasn't the one who had bought billions into the company over a few years.

"Look, what do you want me to say? That I'd willing open my legs for you whenever you want? That I'll be back at your beck and call? Then..." Lile paused and took another sip of her water. "Then yes, possibly. But it's not all give in take. You might think your this cold person who doesn't love anyone, but I bet you any type of money that by the time I turn...let's see....eighteen, you'll feel something for me."

She was challenging him because if she didn't, their relationship would be based on sex and while that was something she would like to do, she didn't want a relationship based on that. She wasn't her mother and she was set out to prove it.

He smiled softly, it was exactly the bold and defensive talk he admired in her, it oozed attraction, as, being a male, the challenging tone of an attractive woman made her worthy of his time.

'I would never treat you disposably, if thats your concern. Yes, some women in my life, before i met ..., well i may have been frivolous and slightly fool hardy. But have no doubts, your oddly mysterious, i can't read you like i could them, and it frustrates me.'

This was true, and not being able to read her made her only more special and therefore more in need of protecting. there was something about her that he wanted to discover and explore, far beyond the shallowness of her open legs, that he wanted to understand.

He picked up a Menu and browsed over the various options before dismissing them all with a sigh and handing the menu over to Lile.

'Here, you must be hungry,' he gestured as he called over the waiter. 'I'll have another glass of wine, and thelady will have?'

Lile took the menu and glanced through it, not bothering to glance at the waiter who waited for her order. "I'll have the grilled salmon and another glass of water," she ordered as she handed the menu to the waiter and gave a polite nod towards him as he took it.

She settled back in her chair and took the moment to watch Ryan as he ordered his drink. He now seemed cool and collected, the mask slowly slipping back into place when the waiter arrived to take their orders. Ryan obviously was more comfortable with people he knew closely rather than strangers, which she didn't blame him really.

"So, what do you think we should do? Forget this all and carry on as normal or go ahead? I mean, we could always go on vacation with each other and see what happens there. It is the summer holidays after all," Lile suggested with a chuckle as she finished off he first glass of water. It probably wouldn't be a good idea but she threw it out there anyway, wanting to see what his reaction and his answer would be.

He looked at her cooly with eyes that probed her words for feelings, and it was clear what choice she preferred as she enunciated the options before them, 'Somehow i get the feeling that if i said we should carry on normally, your trips to my office may become more frequent, and although i pleasure in the thought of you alone, i doubt that would fulfill either of us emotionally.' His emphasis on the word 'either' clearly portrayed that the feelings discussed were mutual, or at least partially.

'A vacation is almost impossible, considering work, i have a few big clients to meet that may lead to large deals involving Vogue and the New York Times, and as much as i would love to cancel...well, i hope you understand i have my obligations.'

The waiter returned with a plate of lavish looking grilled salmon and the two drinks as he finished and after serving them he hastily removd himself from the room.

Ryan dismissed any thoughts Lile may have heard concerning the lack of his meal by saying,
'I'm not hungry, not for anything served by any resturaunt anyway.' he said in a flirtacious and confident tone before offering Lile his signature mischievious smirk and a charming wink.

Lile arched a single red eyebrow, glancing at Ryan for a moment then turning her attention to her meal that had just arrived. She took a couple of sips of her water before taking a couple of bites of her dinner, her green eyes still on Ryan as he watched her. "I understand that you need to work but to try and see what kind of relationship we're going to have, we need some place private, I would imagine. It's no good sneaking around for the first couple of days then deciding we're not going to go through with it."

Lile paused in her eating and placed her fork down, leaning in her seat for the moment to let her food digest. "It would probably seem odd to people that they are seeing us together a little more often then usual then all of a sudden, if we decide against the relationship, they'll notice we're not together that much. I doubt they'll put two and two together but you know what I mean."

She returned to her meal in silence, already making her point even though it sounded like a load of rambling words. Lile finished her meal and pushed the plate to the middle of the table, taking the glass in her hands and finishing off her drink.

'You look like you enjoyed that,' he said smiling as she finished her meal and discarded her plate into the table. Her more serious tone worried him, he continued sincerely,'What do you expect me to do Lile? My job is all i have, and to jeopardise it would be clearly irresponsible after my many years trying to get here.'

He gave off a pained look, he was evidently torn, and her beautiful green eyes probed him for some sort of inconceivable answer.

He shuffled his chair up so he sat inches from her and took her soft, and comparably tiny hand, with his entwining his fingers with hers and running his lips over her knuckles.

'I want this...us, to work. Please don't make the mistake of thinking i don't, but you really can't expect me to jeopardise everything, i've worked my whole life to achieve, on a 'something might happen' opportunity?.'

He felt a rush of guilt run through his body, maybe that was what she expected, maybe this was his chance to prove himself, and he'd just gone and sabotaged any chance of ...well, her. His eyes now downcast and confused, this felt so surreal.

It pleased her that Ryan was serious enough that he wanted to start this relationship but his unwillingness just to take a little time off for them to get to know each other, was simply annoying. She knew her father and he could be a pain when it came to people taking time off but she was his daughter and she had some kind of pull with him.

"Listen, let me talk to him and see how many days I can get you off. I'll say I saw you the other day looking very tired and tired workers is never good. He'll listen to me, honestly." She said, giving his fingers a soft squeeze in reassurance. Lile knew what strings to pull with her father since it was easy enough.

They both needed a place away from prying eyes where they could get to know one another, in their own time and space without having anyone to disturb them. Wherever that was would have to be decided but Lile decided that she wouldn't mind spending some time at a tropical beach or a Caribbean cruise if need be.

Just some place private and alone for the two of them.

"If he agrees and I get you to agree, where would you like to go? I don't mind paying. I've got the money kept safely tucked away which I can use at any time."

Ryan squeezed back at her hand, he was willing to comply with her request and he smiled softly in confirmation.
'I can't say i've really thought about it, but somewhere secluded and warm would be nice.' he explained.

He'd never dreamed of travelling since his dreams consisted of work, but he'd occasionally imagined life in australia, warm cultural and relatively free from disease.

'Australia has always seemed nice, but id prefer somewhere a little more peaceful, if that suits you'

He wanted her to be happy, and she could have suggested anywhere and he would have agreed. 'Howver don't feel like you should pay sweetheart, i know your...background makes things easier for you, but i really can manage' he continued reassuringly.

The waiter then came back into the room with a silver tray with the bill, Ryan wrote out a cheque and tipped the waiter for his services. before then standing up and asking 'May i offer you a lift home? We can continue talking in the car, but i'd like to see you home safe.'

Lile felt very amused at the fact he was worried about her paying. If he knew how much was actually in her bank account then he wouldn't have to worry at all...then again, she wouldn't have to worry about bills whenever she got them. She was safe until her children came along and would inherit everything, of course.

"I'll see what I can do and I'll talk to my father in the morning. You'll probably hear from me near lunch time or earlier if I can get him alone. The answer should be yes but then you never know." Lile shrugged and watched as the waiter took the bill, quickly hurrying off with a grin on his face thanks to the generous tip.

Lile nodded to the offer of a lift, pausing only to push her chair back under the table. "Thanks for the offer. I know my parents with my sisters have gone out so there won't be anyone home yet, if they decide to come home tonight that is. Your car won't be spotted so there's no need to worry about it." Lile said, thanking the doorman as he opened the door for the pair as they stepped onto the street.
