First impressions are often major deciding factors in relationships; the turning point towards casual acquaintanceship, friendship, or mutual loathing. Perhaps that is why most don't click with Heather so well. She does not alter her personality when meeting someone just to make a good impression. She acts how she always does, with few exceptions and even fewer apologies.

Vain and selfish, in many ways Heather exemplifies the typical high school 'mean girl'. She isn't afraid to take advantage of people, nor to manipulate them to her will if it serves her purpose. She is ambitious when it comes to the school heirarchy, and does not take well anyone trying to take her place at the top of the social ladder. She is impressively confident and surprisingly charismatic, able to command a room with her mere presence, and shift perspectives with a single comment. Her influence around the school is undeniable, and she takes great pride in that fact, as is clear whenever she decides that she is bored of a particular fad. Typically, this means that, by next week, said 'fad' will be out the window for the majority of the student body.

Surprisingly, considering the typical high-school-mean-girl caricature that some assume her exemplify, she isn't especially fond of gossip, and is quick to tamper down rumors and lies, even if they are beneficial to her. She prefers to 'win' against others from her own means of manipulation, and whilst she isn't against fighting dirty to remain on top, she considers rumor-spreading beneath her. Thus, even if someone she isn't especially fond of falls victim to the rumor mill, and Heather knows the story that is being spread to be false, then she will flatten it deftly if able. She is not an especially noble individual, but there are dashes of said trait within her, and situations like these prove such.

She is also prone to losing her temper at times, and sometimes has to feign nonchalance so that she can find somewhere more quiet to blow her top. She gets flustered whenever raw, more delicate emotions are at play, and tends to protect her pride with false bravado when such situations arise. She's also surprisingly not shallow when it comes to physical appearance, and although wealth does play a factor often in whether or not she gives you the time of day, she's never been one to base her opinions on someone based on how they look.

Heather's penchant for manipulation gives hints to a deeper level of intelligence. She is successful in her manipulations because of her surprising levels of understanding and empathy; she can 'get' people quite easily, and thus figure out just what makes them tick. Then she puts that information to use in whatever way best benefits her. She is also very witty and sarcastic, prone to snarking students and teachers alike, and icy bursts of passive aggression. She is quick with her replies, and has a witty and clever sense of humor. She is also fiercely loyal to those she truly cares about, and very protective of them as well.

However, in spite of it all, her vindictive ways and her penchant for bitchiness, she is not completely wretched an individual. Her walls are high and dappled with barbed wire, but beneath these defenses she has a definite softness to her. She loathes to appear vulnerable, and thus plays the part of the perfect princess, a girl without worries or weaknesses. No one knows about the insistent inferiority complex that plagues her whenever her sister and her are in the same room. Nor does anyone have a clue about her PTSD-induced nightmares that she has had ever since she was kidnapped at eight years old. No one has ever seen her cry, because she always is sure to do so behind closed doors, with no one but herself for company. She like being the princess, but the concept of being in any way a damsel in distress horrifies her.

But no one knows any of this, because she has a reputation to keep, and she'll be damned if she doesn't do just that.

Heather was born into a life of luxury, with a silver spoon firmly between her lips. Her parents, James and Penelope, were and are 'happily married', according to the public, but behind locked doors the Young family's lifestyle is one rife with scandal. They've got a lot of power, and a lot of enemies. Sounds like a healthy living situation, doesn't it?

James and Penelope have always been subtle in their favouritism of Cynthia, but their work colleagues... not so much. The two Young daughters are prone to being compared to one another, and typically, it is Cynthia that comes out on top. She's smarter, prettier, better. Who knew that a girl born into such a luxurious and flamboyant lifestyle could possible experience envy? And yet here it comes, out of the shadows, a little green monster, coupled with a cruel dose of low self-esteem. Not that anyone could ever notice it bothering her, for there is one thing that Heather is undeniably better at than her sister: acting.

Heather was out shopping with a couple of her friends when the Black Car came. It pulled up beside them, and two men leaped from the vehicle. They grabbed her, and dragged her to the trunk, throwing her into the darkness and slamming the lid shut after her. She saw light again about 45 minutes later, but only whilst they tied her hands and feet, and taped her mouth shut. Then she was in the cramped darkness again.
Greed is a powerful thing. The men demanded 10 million dollars ransom for Heather.
They never got it.
Heather was saved, but not before the occurrence of multiple panic attacks, six hours of waiting in the cramped dark, and ultimately, post-traumatic-stress disorder.

Her seventeenth birthday party was as legendary as one would expect. Spent at one of her father's Hawaiian-based resorts, only the creme-de-la-creme were invited. Naturally.

With school comes drama, pressure, and trouble... but it's not like Heather isn't used to all that by now. Now instated 'Princess', Heather is certain of one thing: it's gonna be an interesting year.
