Finn Zerchov

A Spell Caster with a killer grin and a tendency to get a little smart-assed.

a character in “The Casters Spell”, as played by XxNightxX

Description

Image

Age:
23

Gender:
Male

Power:
Finn specializes in a variety of spells used to bend earthly elements and metals to his will, along with other objects. Simple as this sounds to tell something what to do, it is not, and he is still working on his skills. He can only handle certain spells before becoming too fatigued and exhausted, and he has to be careful what spells he weaves, for certain ones could go terribly wrong or drain too much of his energy.

Type of Magic User:
Spell Caster

Appearance:
Tan and attractively muscular (not super buff, but is nicely toned), Tall, Sandy blonde hair that is spiked in the front, Piercing blue eyes. His TriHeart Guild tattoo is on his left shoulder-blade.

Personality:
Finn is the protective type, guarding the people close to him to the full extent of his ability; if it came down to it, he would, without hesitation, give his life for the ones he loves. In times of not so dire need, he can have an almost endless sense of humor, usually leaning towards the smart-ass side and likes to just chill out and have some fun, sometimes getting reckless in his search of dare-devilish stunts. He can be a major flirt, but also has a sensitive side, although he would deny it if anyone mentioned this attribute. He is a very loyal friend, but beware; he can also be a dire enemy.

Bio/History:
Ever since he was a child, he has had a special affinity and gift for opening up his mind to this type of magic, and he has spent a lot of his time as a child studying and honing these abilities. For a time in his childhood though, he would not touch magic because his parents had weaved a spell that went terribly wrong and ended both their lives when the results got out of control. He trained with others of his kind, learning everything he could about his skill from his mentor, once he realized it was a part of him and he couldn't get rid of it, for some spells didn't need to be spoken to have effects on the world, as he found out from experience when strange things began to happen even though he hadn't spoken a single spell. So he studied and trained with his mentor for the greater half of his childhood so he could learn how to control his spells and magic, and their outcomes.

Pet:
Bat-winged lemur named Aldrik (Name meaning noble friend), who rarely seems to leave Finn's side. Aldrik is an adorable, medium-sized lemur with soft, almost silver fur, with a little bit of red and brown on his head with black-striped feet and tail. His wings are soft and velvety, yet strong enough to allow him to take flight, and resemble those of a bat's. He is usually found perched on Finn's shoulder, watching the world with large, curious dark brown eyes.

A small, soft-furred silver creature sat perched atop a tall young man's shoulder, its bat-like wings were folded neatly and comfortably on its back as it gazed around at the guild halls with large, curious brown eyes. He looked over at the man whose shoulder he was perched upon, and nuzzled his cheek softly. The boy's hair was a sandy blonde, spiked up in the front, and it seemed almost to shine different shades of gold in the early morning sunrise filtering through a small window. The sun's rays lit up his icy blue eyes, making them even more piercing than usual on his handsome, tanned face. Finn smiled a grin that could melt just about any heart and scratched Aldrik behind the ears, earning a soft affectionate humm from the creature. He was talking to an attractive young blonde, who he was obviously acquainted with from around the guild, and he seemed at ease and calm as he spoke with her.

Chloe's charming smile showed through her lips as she talked to Finn, happy to see him again. "You know I heard there was a new job that needed a super strong team to deal with." she said with a wink, nudging him roughly on his shoulder. She knew that she and Finn and Gray were already know as the Guild's strongest team. "Now, where is that water boy?" she grumbled, clearly not amused at Gray's late timing. Chloe spotted Grey talking to a rather attractive red haired girl and Chloe's casual smirk showed through her flawless lips. "Ohh! Gray your clothes!" she yelled as Gray's pants were ripped out from underneath him thanks to Nara. Chloe rolled her eyes, Grey and his many habits just made it so much easier to pick on him. Chloe felt her hip resting against Finn's hand, they weren't side by side but the Guild already knew in the two's interest in each other. Chloe of course chose the difficult choice of having Finn follow her everywhere and leading him on, but Finn was much smarter than Chloe knew of. His true hidden potential was hidden underneath his tanned skin. Chloe turned back to Finn, her mint green eyes resting on his calm ice-blue. "Ready to head on that job Finny Boy?!" she said with a grin. She knew Finn and She were an unmatchable team, she'd earned her rank by defeating Finn quite a few times but surprisingly Finn had defeated her in sparring matches, the two were about even.

Finn gave no sign that his heart skipped a beat at Chloe's charming smile, just played it cool and gave a soft, charming smile of his own. "Hmm I wonder who could possibly handle a job like that." he said slightly playfully, obviously knowing that she was hinting that they could sign up to do the job, as everyone knew their trio was one of the best at the Triheart Guild. He laughed softly when she nudged him roughly on the shoulder, but managed to keep his balance. "Late, as usual." he commented in response to Chloe wondering where Gray was. He tried to hide a smirk and bit his tongue to keep from bursting out laughing as he watched the scene of Gray's disappearing pants from the window, looking down on the street below. "Found him." he chuckled softly. His suppressed chuckles eventually subsided when Gray pulled his pants back up, and he looked back up at Chloe. He felt Chloe's hip resting against his hand slightly, and it sent shivers up his spine, but he gave no sign of it and just continued to smile softly, his cool ice blue eyes meeting her mint green ones. He chuckled softly at her nickname for him and grinned. "When am I ever not ready for a job?" he replied with a grin, starting to walk down the hall, slightly ahead of her due to how tall he was and that he has longer legs than she does.

Chloe smiled and caught up with him easily, "We can handle this job ourselves." she murmured handing him the slip of paper that read: "Crooked Thief with Magic Power! Please Catch him reward of 150,000 Jewel!" Chloe smiled, "We could split the reward 50, 50 and be able to pay our rent easily." she murmured with a heartbreaking smile. Chloe and Finn walked outside of the Guild, where Riki was waiting patiently. Chloe climbed up the saddle and grabbed hold of his reins, She helped Finn up on the saddle. "He Yah!" Chloe yelled and snapped the reins against Riki's side, Riki went at a fast paced run. Chloe's hair brushed against Finn's chin, his hands resting casually around her waist. Chloe smiled, the wind in her face as she laughed, happily. They arrived shortly at the man's house of whom they were suppose to capture. Riki came to a halt and both she and Finn slid down Riki's back. Riki gave a snort of approval and then ran off in search of a meal to eat. Chloe smiled at Finn as they walked calmly towards the house, her celestial keys bounced softly against her hip. "Ready?" she asked, without waiting for his approval Chloe kicked open the doors, glaring and looking around. The house was a large manor and the man in a mask stood atop the staircase. "You have entered my house uninvited. What do you want? You have but few seconds to answer before I blow up you in a matter of brief moments." he growled, clearly not amused at the two's barging in. "We are here to capture you that's what!" Chloe growled and dodged the man's incoming blow. He was a spell caster, one who was good at making bombs very fast, explosions collided everywhere and Chloe had to carefully dodge.

Finn took the piece of paper and read it, whistling lowly. "Well I'd say so." he said with a grin, handing her back the paper and looking up to smile at her just in time to see her heart-shattering smile. He walked outside with her, Aldarik still perched on his shoulder as they walked out of the big guild doors at the grand entrance and went outside to meet Riki there. Finn accepted her help getting up into the saddle, even though he didn't really need it, his strong arms and legs perfectly capable of pulling him up into the saddle on his own. But he didn't say this, just smiled and climbed on the saddle behind her, resting his hands casually around her waist to hold on as her light golden hair brushed against his chin and sent shivers down his spine. Aldrik had leapt down from Finn's shoulder as soon as they took off and curled up in a saddle bag for a safe ride to their destination. Chloe's joyful laugh made Finn smile, and he glanced at her out of the corner of his eye as he gazed around at their surroundings, absent-mindedy trying to memorize where they were going so he wouldn't get lost and would know where they were at at least in case something happened and they had to run. When they arrived, he slid down Riki's back, Chloe following soon after him. As she took the lead and basically barge into this man's house; he took in the scene, noting it was a very large manor, not even really a house, as he glanced up to see a masked figure at the top of the staircase. He listened the brief conversation between Chloe and the masked man, and then before he could say anything had to dodge and jump out of the way of the floor exploding below him, falling on his side then rolling back onto his feet in a swift movement. What? No warm welcome? Alright, I guess we're playing that way. he thought, a smirky grin forming on his lips towards the opposing spell caster. Finn began to weave a spell of his own, making the ground and the stairs crumble out from beneath just the masked spell-caster's feet by weakening the wood in the floor beneath him, distracting him for a moment and causing there to be a break in the tirade of explosions.

Chloe dodged the way of an incoming bomb though the wood shatters cut Chloe's arm, she winced in pain. Chloe had already had enough of this guy. With a growl Chloe grabbed one of the keys from her key chain the symbol in the looks of

she quickly did a cross pattern while saying: "Open, Gate of the Fire Horse, Flareo!"

Image

The mighty black horse spouted flames out of his nostril, clearly not amused with this mysterious man attacking his Celestial Partner. Flareo turned his wide head to look over at Chloe. "What is your bidding, Mistress?" he asked as all or most of her Celestial Spirits talked. "Burn that man with your incredible power!" Chloe yelled, Flareo snorted, flames spouting from his open mouth, his teeth showed wildly and his ears were pinned. Flareo charged at the man, knocking him down with a swift blow, flames began to burn his shirt the man screemed loudly, running and rolling trying to get the fire off of him. This was when Grey was in handy and he could get rid of the flames but since Grey wasn't here the man continued to run around, the flames following him. Chloe glanced over at Finn, "Could you crumple some dirt on him, we probably shouldn't burn him alive.." she grumbled. Flareo stood beside Chloe, his flame colored eyes glanced around nervously, making sure he didn't catch her on fire. Though that would mean her clothes would burn off and he was sure Finn would love that.

Finn cursed himself for his impulsive move. He had acted quickly and out of instinct, but hadn't foreseen the fact that the wood splinters would harm Chloe. He dodged out of the way of a delayed explosion and got back to his feet again, brushing himself off. He now stood beside Chloe and was watching the scene before him with eyes still not quite used to seeing Chloe summon her Celestial Spirits. Yeah, that was something that took a little time to get used to, and he wasn't quite there yet. Almost, but not quite. He winced slightly as the Spirit, whose name was apparently Flareo, set the other spell caster's shirt on fire. He blinked when Chloe spoke to him about putting the poor man out, as the man was now running around in circles like a headless chicken, flames pursuing him. "We probably shouldn't burn him alive..." he heard her say, and he supposed this was true. "Er-um-yeah. I'll put him out of his misery." he told her, as he closed his eyes and murmured a spell under his breath, unaware of Flareo's wandering thoughts. It seemed that every single dust particle in the room rose from the ground and began to swirl around the masked man, creating a sort of vacuum that removed the oxygen for a few seconds and extinguished the fire. When he was finished, the fire was extinguished, the masked man seemed to have collapsed on the floor, and the dust was settling around him. Finn opened his blue eyes, which shone like ice shards in the dim of the house, and glanced over at Chloe, meeting her pretty mint green eyes. "Better?" he asked.

"Much." Chloe murmurmed, Chloe turned to Flareo, her smile was bright. "Thank you, Flareo. For all your help. You may return to the Celestial World." she murmured softly to him. Flareo bent his front hooves, bowing to her and watching as a bright flame appeared and in a flash Flareo was gone. Chloe turned back to Finn a wide smile on her face, "Still confused of my power I see eh?" she commented with a smirk. The masked man stuttered and coughed, dust particles came out from his mouth as he did so. Chloe walked swiftly over to the man, punching him squarely in the nose, the man;s vision went blurry and he soon slipped into unconsciousness. "That'll teach you not to mess with Triheart Guild now won't it." she growled and grabbed the man by his collar, dragging him across the floor as she stormed past Finn. "Stupid, Masked Men, and their stupid bombs." she grumbled inaudibly.

Image

Grey tilted his head, wondering why all of a sudden this girl wanted to join a guild. He shrugged and his smirk appeared on his face well if this girl thought she could just walk in to the guild and join she was defiantly wrong. Grey felt his magic flow through his veins, ready to fight if he wanted. Grey felt his eyes narrow as his new nickname was "Droplet" Grey smirked, "Coming, Hot Head." he growled and jogged up to meet her. Nara followed, her eyes drifted over to Nikita, she felt the girl could be untrusting and continued to watch with wary eyes. Grey calmly walked side by side with Nikita keeping his distance as he was still leary of her. The Guild was pretty hard to miss with it's big almost house castle appearance, the sign on the front said Triheart in big & fancy letters. "Well, this is Triheart, one of the best Guilds in Mangolia." Grey commented coolly.

Finn gave a slight tilt of his head in a small nod of acknowledgement and watched as Flareo bowed and left in a flash of flame. He crossed his arms against his chest and gave a pout. "I'm not confused! It just takes some getting used to, thats all!" he said defensively, although there was a teasing, playful light in his blue eyes. He turned back to the masked man as he stuttered and coughed out dust. He smirked when Chloe broke the man's nose and knocked him out in one blow square in the spell caster's face. He watched as she drug the man past Finn by his collar, mumbling something inaudible irritably. Well damn, she acted as if he had personally offended her by just existing. Women, and their mood swings. Finn chuckled softly and followed Chloe out of the house. He helped her drag the unconscious man up onto Riki, who was back outside to pick them back up, and then climbed on behind Chloe once more, making sure the criminal spell caster didn't fall off Riki's back as they headed back to the guild with their captured criminal.

Chloe and Finn made it back safely to the guild, not many problems had happened. Chloe jumped swiftly off of Riki's back, she let Finn grab the masked man and throw him down, Chloe side stepped and let the man hit the ground, hard. The man growled and clenched his fist, unable to do anything about it. After Finn jumped down Chloe watched as Riki headed off deeper into town probably to steal some more watermelon, it was his favorite food. Chloe silently laughed and then looked back down at the man, she grabbed him by the edge of his collar, dragging him in the Guild. "You get to stay here until someone comes to pick you up, have fun!" she said with a grin. Chloe then realized about her wound she glanced over and with surprise saw it was bleeding, a large gash on the place where the wood sliced through it. Sudden the pain enveloped and Chloe winced, going down on one knee. "Ugh. Great just what I need, another battle wound." she growled calmly. Chloe stood back up again and looked over at Finn, a wicked grin suppressed her face, she ignored the pain that stung her skin. "Let's go get that money!" she said with a grin and thumbs up.

Image

Gray rolled his eyes, "Thanks, Hot Head. So...what do you think? You wanna join?" he said with a grin, raising his fist as his power flowed through his veins, he was unable to keep the fire out of his eyes, he had a burning passion to show this girl her place. The only reason of this was probably because he was water and she fire a natural enemy of both. Both were even but water usually had the upper advantage. Gray put his fist back to his side, keeping calm like the inner water he held.

Finn smiled as they arrived back at the guild, and grabbed the man roughly to throw him over the side. He smirked when Chloe sidestepped and the man began cursing them in vain. He shrugged and leapt nimbly down from Riki's back, entering the building with Chloe, who was roughly corralling the criminal into the building. Finn had already weaved a small simple spell that bound the man's wrists behind his back so he couldn't cause harm to them, and the spell had been weaved in such a way that if anything went wrong, the original spell caster who cast it, that person being Finn, wouldn't be harmed or overly fatigued because of it, as his energies were sustaining it now.
When Chloe went down on one knee from her wound, Finn was there in an instant, grabbing her elbow to catch her from falling all the way and to steady her. When she stood back up, he let go, but was still gazing at her in concern even though she seemed to be trying to ignore the pain and pretend she was fine. Guilt crossed his face and darkened his eyes as he still blamed himself for this particular injury of her's, along with his impulsive stupidity and failure to think ahead. As seemingly ignorant and care-free as Finn could be sometimes, she couldn't lie to him, and he was cleverer than he seemed. "I could heal that for you, you know." he murmured, the concern showing in his voice. "The money will still be there once you're healed." he said, hoping she would be reasonable and let him heal her.

Chloe sighed, she hated feeling like she needed to depend on Finn, and yet her mind raced at the possibility. "If you could that would be great. I don't exactually like walking around with a piece of skin missing from my body." she teased calmly. Chloe sighed and held out her arm, she winced as he pulled it closer to him to inspect it. Chloe bit her lip waiting and looking in the other direction clearly no amused of someone touching her wound.

"Well, hopefully I can fix that." he said with a small smile at her comment. He tried to be as gentle as he could as he inspected her arm, and muttered a soft apology when she winced in pain. His touch was light as a feather as he placed his hand as gently as he could over the wound. He closed his eyes and his lips moved almost silently as he murmured a spell under his breath; his hand and her skin at the wound-site seemed to alight with a soft, strange, glowing blue-white light. When he was done, he opened his eyes and pulled his hand away and gently let go of her arm, revealing skin that was healed and seemed near-flawless as if it had almost never been touched by the flying shards of wood. "There." he murmured, looking up to meet her mint-green eyes.

"T-Thank you." Chloe murmured softly, her lips tilted in a slight smile. She smiled sweetly at him than grabbed him by the collar of his shirt, dragging him so they could get their reward money. "I NEED MONEY!" she growled and stalked up to the front desk. A rather short lady with massive bright blue hair handed her the money and Chloe split it between them. "Woo! I got money." Chloe said, starting to dance around like a child getting a present for christmas. Chloe nudged Finn, "With your help, of course." she murmured with a sly wink. Chloe continued to show and brag to people about the money, not a care in the world."

"No problem." Finn murmured back, returning her sweet smile with a cute, boyish half-smile of his own, his eyes alighting like piercing droplets of the clearest rainwater. He stumbled for a split second, then followed her as she drug him by his shirt collar towards their reward money, chuckling softly as he did. He accepted his share of the money from her and laughed softly as he watched Chloe dance around like a child on christmas morning who'd gotten exactly what she'd wanted. She looks like Christmas morning... his eyes widened as he thought this, as he had no idea why he thought this, as he hadn't meant to think it, and it shocked him for a moment before he shook it off and put it out of his head, blinking it out of his thoughts and regaining his composure before she noticed. He was jarred out of his thoughts when she nudged him. He grinned and winked back. "Of course. You know you couldn't have done it without me." he teased back, nudging her back playfully. He just rolled his eyes when she started showing everyone her money, flashing it around like a prize. He pocketed his own, tucking it away safely instead of showing it off just so someone could decide to steal it from him. He smiled and grabbed Chloe gently by the arm, beginning to drag her back up towards the stairs to where the living quarters were. "Come on, Clo. Everyone already knows how good a job you can do. No need to boast. Someone might get jealous." he said slightly teasingly, amusement in his eyes with a voice that was light and calm, a smile still curving his lips.

"Gah!" Chloe grumbled as she was practically dragged up the stairs. "Well It seems as if My legs don't work." she grumbled and then wiggled out of his grasp. Chloe crossed her arms and pouted, "Well it's not my fault that the others aren't as great as workers as we are." she said sticking her tongue out at him. After a few brief moments of silence Chloe sighed, "Well, I suppose your right, Anyways I think I'll head back home, get some sleep and then start over again tomorrow, Kay?" she said with her signature grin.

Grey rolled his eyes, clearly not amused with her not wanting to join the guild. "What's a matter, Ho- I mean Nikita? To afraid to take on a huge water bender like me?" he challenged. Grey narrowed his eyes, "The names Grey, not Droplet." he growled, not liking the nickname anymore. Grey glanced down at his bare chest and quickly put on his shirt from which was lying right next to him.

Finn stopped and turned to face her when she wiggled out of his grasp. He crossed his arms and leaned against the wall, an eyebrow raised. "Well, before you go anywhere, would you like to go out and celebrate our great work with some coffee?" he asked with a soft smile. His heart pounded against his chest for some unexplainable reason, and he tried to hide his fear that she would refuse. What was he so scared of? Its not like he was asking her on a date. No, it wasn't a date. Definitely not a date. He didn't want to admit his heart was just about beating out of his chest, but deep down he knew why his heart pounded like it did. He tried his best to hide the hopefulness in his eyes, just putting on a grin and burying his true feelings beneath that playful grin.

Grey grinned, putting a thumbs up. "You got yourself a deal." he grinned. Grey moved himself slightly away from her, his shirt fell to the floor as he got into a ready stance.

Chloe raised an eyebrow, "Uh, Sure. Coffee sounds great. Come on, Finny Boy." she grinned and grabbed him by the hand, running out of the Guild. Chloe felt a slight blush make their way to her cheek as she let go of his hand and soon she found herself by the coffee shop. Chloe waited as Finn opened the door and soon Chloe found herself sitting, their coffee had made it's way to their table and Chloe and Finn sat in a quiet silence.

Finn felt his cheeks get hot when she grabbed his hand, but relief swept through him as his heart skipped a beat and he tried to hide a grin. He felt slightly disappointed when she let go of his hand, and he let it fall to his side, but he hid his disappointment and opened the door for her as they arrived at the coffee shop and entered the small building. As he sat at the small round-table across from her and thanked the waitress as he took the coffee and added some sugar and creamer, taking a small sip, he glanced up at her out of the corner of his eye, wishing she would say something. When silence continued to suffocate him, he cleared his throat and opened his mouth to say something when two men dressed in black with masks and hoods over their faces burst through the door and the screams of the civilians in the shop echoed in Finn's ears. Before Finn could react and even stand up fully out of his chair, the two men lunged for Chloe and grabbed her by her arms, one of them shoved a hand with a cloth over her mouth.
"Nooo!!!" Finn yelled, but as he went to try to get them off of her, a fire burning in his eyes, a third man came out of nowhere and he felt the impact of a hardened fist hit his jaw, sending him sprawled across the other side of the shop and leaving him dazed. He growled and tried to get up, but the third man placed a boot roughly on his chest to push him back down, knocking the air out of his lungs as the other two escaped with Chloe in tow. Finn yelled her name, but was quickly shut up with another blow to his jaw, splitting his lip. He blinked his eyes to clear his vision and glared up at the man above him with all the hatred he could muster. The man had a gun and was pointing the pistol at the terrified civilians, none of them daring to move. He smirked and removed his boot from Finn's chest and slipped out of the building to follow the other men. Finn lay on the ground, stunned, the attack had happened too fast for him to even think of a spell to weave that would help them, let alone to weave a spell, and once the shock dissipated, fury surged through his veins, but despite him knowing that they were too far gone for him to catch them now, he had to at least try. They would not get away with this. He would find them, and he would get Chloe back.

"If you insist." Grey murmured casually, his eyes darted for some sort of water source. The main pipes could serve as fine bending water. Grey felt his hands begin to form a water like pattern, his hands waving side to side near his hips. The nearby pipes began to shake and groan as they started to fall apart. Grey quickly dodged a large pipe as it fell nearly missing him by a hair. Soon water began to pour like rain, making Grey's grin appear. "You asked for it." he growled and soon began to wave his hands, the water soon flowed into his hands, making two long water-like knives appear from his hands. "Gahh!" he yelled and dove straight for Nikita's torso. He missed by an inch as she dodged his incoming attack, the flames began to boil the water he held and Grey yelped, not liking the hot water. He began the exersize once again, this time making it with the colder water. Grey dove again, striking a water knive across Nikita's arm, also getting his shoulder singed by the hot heat of the flames.

Wh-Where am I?! the thought came suddenly as Chloe awoke in a dungeon cell, her hands held together by a sticky web-like paste. Chloe wiggled and pulled against the hard web but it alas wouldn't budge. Chloe yelled out in frustration, she wanted badly to escape this mad torture. "It's no use struggling, that string of web is unbreakable and will not allow you to use magic power, ingenious isn't it?" a dark voice called from the opened cell door. Chloe blinked, squinting to the sudden blinding light. Chloe listened to the dark figures words, soon realizing it was right she couldn't feel the magic power from her keys any longer. "Let me go!" she growled, continuing to try and get the string to budge. "But we can't allow you to leave Miss, Chloe. Because we need you for a bigger plan. You know as well as we do that your 'Prince Finn' is going to try and rescue you but we have an assignment for him as well." the figure grinned and then sighed as Chloe continued to yell and pull against the web. The dark figure grinned and left not before waving a signal to the guards outside. "Enjoy your stay! Hope you find it electric!" he yelled and the gate closed. Chloe sensed an unnatural power change in the air and not 2 seconds after the door closed Chloe felt electric sparks fly across her tan skin, she was too late to realize and soon Chloe felt the electric vibes electrocute her, she screamed in pain, feeling as if her skin was on fire. The electric shock lasted for a few seconds then disappeared. Chloe felt her skin still dance with the electric current and she lay back slumped against the walls, what did these people have planned for her? She soon found her vision blurry as she went unconscious..
