The Story So Far... Write a Post » as written by 3 authors
Katherine awoke that morning in her chambers too see her three little brothers. "What are you three doing here?" She said to her triplet brothers Ansell, Georgie, Peter. With that she got up and put on her night coat and looked at them. "Let a lady change properly go on now."
With that they left the room and she changed into one of her simple gowns. She had some more expesinve ones that she used for balls or parties like tonight to gather information for the column.
When she was finished changing she went down the stairs into the dining room and ate breakfast with her younger brothers and then she went to the study and began to write another column. She had been lucky that no one was ever able to track her down and get information from her.
She went under a name of a guy as writing from a female is frowned upon. But she loved it. She now just had to wait till Mr. Pilkington comes and picks it up for the paper.
(I was thinking he tracked her down?)
Though, first things first, he needed to find this Katherine Taylor. He has heard rumors around the kingdom about her writing as a man when it is frowned upon for a woman to be writing at all. So in order to get down to the bottom of this he decided to just hunt her down.
Though it didn't take very long for him to find out where this woman lived. Lord Michael found himself standing outside the woman's house and he knocked upon the door, waiting for someone to answer. Michael just hoped the rumors were untrue because if they were true, he would have to lock the woman up for an undetermined amount of time for going against the law. That only men were aloud to write and do many other things. Though honestly, if it were up to him it wouldn't be this way. But he couldn't change any of the laws until he was married. Even though he is the ruler over the kingdom, there was nothing he could do about it right now.
Katherine had the ink quill in her hand dipping it into the ink and began to continue re-writing her post for the column. She heard a knock on the door and she growled in frustration.
"Mrs. Box will you answer the door. I must continue writing this. It is properly Mr. Pilkington send Ansel my way." With that her brother was still no where to be seen as he always gave the letters to Mr. Pilkington. With that the door opened and Mrs Box let him in.
"She is in the study your lordship." As he had asked for her. With that he was led to the study where she was with that Katherine was still writing. "Ansel good lord thank God your here I am sure the door was Mr. Pilkington I need you to deliver the article and tell him I need the pay." She hadn't looked up yet as she had continued to write while she spoke.
She needed the payment as the debtors were getting itchy. "Well don't just stand there come here and take tttt..." She said looking up to hand it when she noticed it was the lord. She was in trouble a lot of it. But she needed to do what she had to do. Which might get her in far worse trouble.
He stepped up to the table and spoke, "Leave the parchment and come with me. If you give a fight I'll have to call my guards and everyone in town will know what you're guilty of. If you come willingly, nothing could be known," he stated to her.
If he were being honest with himself, he hoped that he didn't have to do this, but the law was the law and there was nothing he could do about it until he was married. Which was a law he really didn't seem to quite be able to grasp. But in order for him to run the kingdom the way he wants, he needed to find a woman worthy enough and just marry her. There was no other way to put it.
Katherine looked at him. What was she going to say? Or do? She had to get herself out of this one. "Before we go I want to explain first and foremost." She said looking at him. She placed the paper on the desk and her quill. With that she began to pace. She wasn't scared of law or rules this one was stupid and she had every right.
"I am yes a woman. But as a woman having to support 3 younger brothers and try to keep a staff I needed a job. When I was younger I was always writing. And with that it was the only useful task to use when Papa died and left me three younger brothers to take care of and try to keep the house you have to understand."
With that she looked at him for a minute. "And with that I had only one other way and that was to get this job. So I need to ask you to help me and I will help you. You must help me strike a bargain anything. I can't abandon my family like this. Don't you understand?" She said looking at him.
Honestly, he couldn't believe he was doing this. If his uncle found out he was disobeying the laws, there would be no way he would get to keep the kingdom, even if he were to get married. Honestly, he just hoped everything would work out in both their favor. So Katherine would be able to keep writing and take care of her family and he would be able to run the kingdom.
Katherine looked at him. "I know that you are a respectful man and I ask that you forgive me for my article as I was just hearing the rumors around town and I understand if you want to use that to fuel. But can we not arrange a deal here."
She said looking at him. "I know you are a man of your word but I know way more that if I leave this house I could end up with being gone forever from my brothers. Is there nothing we can come up with on the spot. As I musn't leave my brothers. They are only the mere age of six barely knowing their scribing. Please."
She never pleaded and was polite but she had too she had to sweet talk her way out of this. She just knew it.
With that she looked at him. Was he being truthful? She was breaking a law. And she knew exactly why. Women were not allowed to have opinions and women writing is giving them an opinion they are only there to bear heirs and stay at house playing cards or knitting.
She was in shock with that she walked a bit closer to look at him. "I mustn't just get off like this. I have little but if there is anything I can offer to do for you. I would do anything you absolutely need."
She didn't know why she was doing this. She needed to make sure that she didn't get off scotch free.
If she could at least handle doing this for him, there would be no doubt that he would be able to be sure he name stayed out of the mouth's of the villagers and it would also keep his uncle off his neck about not trying to find a potential suitor for the throne, for someone to rule along beside him.
At least this way Michael would have some space in order to find his own future wife, not having to dance with every woman his uncle pointed out in order to rush things. Michael knew all he had was a year to find this woman, but she had to be perfect, she had to be someone he loved. Not someone he would just randomly choose to have it done and over with. If he were to spend the rest of his life with someone, it had to be with someone he loved and that was that. No ifs, ands, or buts, about it.
She looked at him as he spoke. He normally courted fancy people. Yes her father was one of the elite and she was always able to go to the balls and stuff now thats why she hadn't sold a few of her fancy outfits. Her father was a heavy gambler and wasted the money and she had bills to pay thats why she was having debters coming harrasing everyday.
She smiled when he asked her. "I would love to be courted with you to the dance. I was a little baffled but I would love to. Would you like to meet there or come pick me up?" She said looking at him with a smile.
She glanced at him. "I am sorry about the paper. Consinder me the messanger of gossip." She said with a small smile hoping the subject would lighten.

She glanced at him. "I am sorry about the paper. Consider me the messenger of gossip." She said with a small smile hoping the subject would lighten.
The Lord began making his way back towards the castle and upon arriving got straight to work on the paperwork he had to do.
She smiled at him and took a bow and with that got the butler and one of her brothers to bring the article to Mr. Pilkington. With that she realized time and began to get dressed. She made sure to curl her hair over night and she put a small ribbon throgh. With that she changed into her dress. With that she smiled in the small mirror and put on a pair of pearls.
With that she got the carriage to come and kissed her brothers good night and made her way to the palace.
Michael stepped into the ballroom wearing his new tuxedo that was bought just for this night. He found himself standing by the punch bowl, waiting for any sign of Katherine Taylor.
This had to work. If his uncle pressured him into finding a woman when Katherine was here, he wasn't sure what he would do. But whatever it is, he would have to think of something quickly. Michael was working on finding the woman he wanted to marry but he wasn't the kind of guy to just rush into things, he wanted to find the woman he was in love with, not someone to just settle.
She walked into the palace and planned on learning all that she could. She needed to for the paper if not the debtors would have her by morning begging for more money.
She looked to see Lord Michael. With that she walked over to him and took a small curtsy. "Hello Lord Thompson." With that she smiled at him. But when she wasn't she was surprised.
She smiled and looked around. "Your aunt did a lovely job."
((Maybe we could get the uncle somehow involved telling him to like marry her so it could follow a little of the plot))
Upon his uncle's approach Michael nodded to him and began to introduce him to his "date". "Uncle, this is Katherine Taylor," he stated before returning his attention to his uncle.
The male gently lifted the woman's hand into his and kissed it before looking to the woman and speaking, "You should marry this man. He would take great care of you," he stated as he then glanced over towards his nephew.
Michael rolled his eyes and spoke, "Uncle, I told you this. If you left me alone about this, I would find someone and marry them. You just have to be patient with me. Besides, you can't just force her to marry me. That's rude," he stated.
She smiled at him. "It was nice of you to invite me with you."
She watched as the uncle came and curtsied. When he spoke a small laugh passed her lips. "I am way to much of a troublemaker. It would be way to hard on Lord Thompson."
She said with a smile looking at him and listening to what he said. "And marriage isn't on my to-do list anyway." She said before smiling and taking a glimpse around her.
Don't get him wrong, Michael does love his uncle, he just hated being around him during times like this. It was just always so awkward and just stressed him out. His uncle needed to stay out of his personal life, that had nothing to do with him.
She smiled at him and took a curtsy and looked at Lord Thompson. "I would love to." She said with a smile and continued to with that they linked hands and made their way out into the dance floor.
"I apoligize for what I said back there its just the truth." She said looking at him. "I am unfortunatly not like the other ladies that you have taken to balls and courted."
She said looking at him closely watching for any sign of anger or upsetting behaviour.
Michael couldn't help but to smirk as he placed his hands upon her waist and began dancing with her. "It's fine. Though you being different is something I like," he stated. It was the truth. He knew it came out as if he were flirting but he didn't care. As long as it was the truth he didn't care how she thought of it.
She smiled at him. Lord Thompson was diffferent then what she assumed and oddly he was being very kind, flirty and polite. With that she smiled at him and continued to dance.
She didn't know what to say to his remark. "Thank you Lord Thompson." She said looking at him with a simple nod of her head. She didn't know where this night was going to lead but....
She better just keep dancing.
He couldn't believe he just kissed this woman, a woman he had just met and hardly knows anything about. How was he going to explain this to his uncle if he saw the kiss?
She watched as he kissed her in the middle of the dance floor. She was very well shocked. And she also liked it. She blushed maddly then realizing what happened she pulled his sleeve gently and guided him onto the porch.
She looked at him. "I accept your apology. I would say you wouldn't have to apoligize because i enjoyed the kiss. But I can't go around kissing men. It will ruin my reputation and i need to keep it to keep my job up to support the household. But i am not saying i didn't like it."
She added in the end softly her thoughts happy. She didn't know if she overly liked him that well.
OOC: She doesn't want to get married but i think later on you should bring up her finacial money things and work on making her marry you.
