Damien chuckled and whistled a merry tune as he tightened his apron and added something into the morning tea. It's 7.45 in the morning and it was nearly the time to wake his Master up. He ran a hand through his black, messy hair in an attempt to look 'sexy' and he chuckled as his reflection winked at him from the mirror. Grinning widely, Damien tasted his tea and smirked when he deemed the tea tasted 'good enough'. He threw the apron to the table, didn't even bother to pick it up properly as it fell on the floor. Well, why should he have to clean up the mess? That was a maid's job, right?

He danced and swirled around before picking the tea tray up. He looked at the wall clock and shrugged his shoulder.8.00 in the morning. Perfect! Looking as smug as he could, Damien made his way into his Master's bedroom. Well, the room wasn't small, that's for sure. He peeked his eyes and his smirk widened as he saw a sleeping figure on the bed. That was so perfect. He check his clothes, mentally ticked his checklist.

  • Unbutton shirt: check
  • loosed tie: check
  • Sexy hair: double check
He pushed the door opened and walked into the dark room confidently, his violet eyes took in his Master's sight hungrily. Putting the tray on a table nearby with a soft thump, Damien walked over his Master's bed and lowered his head until his face was just inches away from his Master's.

"Master...it's time to wake up...the sun's shining..."

He purred, tickling the younger boy's face with his hair. He raised his index finger and began to poke Hwang with it. "come on, cutie Master...wake up~" He said in a sing-song voice. He grinned as he thought of a more effective way to wake the boy up. Walking to the big window, he opened it wide and let the sunrays hit the boy directly in the face.

He walked to him and once again lowered his head. Glancing at his shirt to make sure Hwang could see his chest in this position, he giggled and whispered again "come on, wake up...it's not good for a young boy to oversleep~" He grinned widely, showing his sharp teeth.

The soft tap as Sterling laid the last trap sounded remarkably... final. Like he was putting the seal on an official letter, or something of the like. He stepped back from the bureau, scanning the room with practiced gray eyes. Eighty-nine... ninety-five... ninety-six... one hundred. Exactly one hundred alarm clocks, settled about the room on every flat surface he could find. The desk, the bureau, the bed, there were even some spread out across the floor in his master's bedroom. Perhaps it was just his cruel sense of humor, but Sterling was tired of trying to get Kanjo up in the mornings. He had gone out the night before - a time when humans slept, but demons did not have to - and relieved a shopkeeper of his clocks. Of course, he had left money for the sleeping man as payment, more than enough to cover this many alarm clocks. He was a butler, not a thief.

Nodding to himself, he checked the pocket watch on the chain in his pocket. Surrounded by so many digital clocks, it seemed silly to check an ancient analog device, but he was old-fashioned. He liked his pocket watch.

7:58... 7:59... 8:00.

All of them. All one hundred alarm clocks, in the very same instant, went off in a symphony of ear-shattering beeps and trills and buzzes. Sterling did not so much as flinch, turning to gaze through flinty eyes at the master's bed. No human, no matter how stubborn, could sleep through such ruckus.

"Young Master," he called calmly as the man showed signs of waking. "For breakfast today we have waffles and maple syrup, bacon, and rice pudding."
___________________________________

Youngjae woke slowly, twitching slightly and looking up at whatever it was which loomed over him, a dark spot in the stream of sunlight. What the hell... why was...?

"Damien!" he cried, sitting bolt upright and cracking his head against his butler's. He flopped back down into the sheets, nursing the red spot that resulted and glaring at the demon who loomed over him. "Yah! What's the big idea, skulking around like that?! You scared me!" This was part of the fun of waking Youngjae up. He was only energetic, only loud and teenager-like, in the early morning. As soon as Damien got him out of bed, he would quiet down once more.

Kanjo was in his dreamland. His entire face relaxed and on his lips lingered a small smile. Right now, he looked like a normal 18 year-old boy, sleeping peacefully on his bed, his body snuggled deep inside a warm blanket.

RING...BUZZ...BEEP...

A hundred different sounds attacked his eardrums and Kanjo winced as he tried to roll to his left, avoided hearing the loud noises. Urg...his head hurt. He grasped the blanket and draped it over his head, attempted to continue his dream.

Rolled...

Rolled...

Rolled...

Thump

Kanjo groaned as his body fell on the ground with a big thump. He whined, obviously still wanted to sleep. With his eyes still closed, Kanjo used his hand to grasp the blanket on his bed and covered his head. He curled into a tight ball, his hands was still trying to protect his ears and securing the blanket. Well, he didn't care if he was sleeping on the floor now, all he cared was that he wanted to sleep some more. Last night was very stressful to him and businessman or not, Kanjo still needed his beauty sleep. Unfortunately for him, fate didn't think so. Of all the spot he chose to sleep, he just had to choose a spot next to a very very loud alarm clock. Kanjo whined again and said drowsily "...uhm...Sterling...turn off the TV..." A part of his mind raised an eyebrow as it questioned him why he called the alarm clocks the 'tv' but honestly? Kanjo was just too tired to care about it. Sterling would be able to understand what he was saying. He rolled again and faced another alarm clock. Gosh, why did this place have so many alarm clocks? If his fuzzy memory served him right, he didn't buy this many clocks. He said, his voice dropped into a grunt "...turn off the radio, Sterling...". 'Radio'? Seriously, the lack of sleep last night was catching up with him.

Damien looked at his Master as the boy woke up, yelling at him. He chuckled and rubbed his sore head. Well, for a young boy, he sure had a hard head. He said cheerfully to the sleepy boy, oblivious to his teenager-like-behavior. He was used to it by now anyway. He took a step backward and walked to the table where he put the tea tray. Picking it up carefully, he walked over to Hwang "look what I brought for you this morning...your favorite, Master Jay..."

He grinned widely and gave Hwang a mock bow, his eyes shone with mischief and hidden lust. He winked and poured some tea into a elegant white cup before giving it to Hwang "...you know, humans said something about..." He mused, tapping his check with his index finger "...ah yes, 'the early birds get the worms or get eaten by the worms or something like that'..." He mused again, this time mostly to himself "...but I'm pretty sure it was 'get the worms' not 'get eaten by the worms'..." He shook his head to clear his thoughts and continued "...anyway...I want you to get the worms so I have to make you get up early, huh?" He smiled childishly and looked at his Master's 'bed hair'.

He chuckled again and pinched Hwang's cheek before teasing him "you're so cute with your hair like that, Master Jay...you're my favorite Master..." He shrugged his shoulder and answered the boy's previous question "and I ran out of ideas how to wake you up so I thought 'yeah, I should try and wake my Master up with my beauty'" He winked again and waited for Hwang to react.

β€œIt is time to get up, Young Master,” Sterling answered in a stoic tone, even as he began turning of alarm clocks. Of course, Kanjo had neglected to specify which alarm clocks should be turned off, and so he had chosen to start at the furthest corner of the room from the human. Let him suffer as long as he possibly could… Sterling only wanted him on his feet. β€œIf you do not want breakfast, we can always throw it out, but you have an appointment with your subordinates in the city this morning, to which we are already late.”

Walking silently across the room, he tapped the alarm clocks off one by one, until he reached the one by Kanjo’s ear. Touching it lightly, he then reached out and pulled his young master into a sitting position. β€œTime to get dressed,” he announced flatly.
________________________________________

Youngjae glared irritably at Damien, but he took the tea. He would never admit it, but he had a soft spot for his demon. He liked him… well, no, not really liked… he more… appreciated the demon, and the services he carried out in Youngjae’s name. The boy was smart enough to realize that without Damien there was no way he would have risen this high in the business world.

β€œWhat is on the schedule today?” he demanded as he sipped at the tea. It was sweet… well, it was a good thing Youngjae preferred sweet teas.

Kanjo blinked tiredly when he was forced into his sitting position and he rubbed his eyes, mumbling silently "...ah...the appointment...how could I forget?..." He yawned and pushed himself slowly to his feet, swaying back and forth slightly. Leaning against his butler in order to regain his balance, he said sleepily "...what time did I make the appointment, Sterling?..." He ran a hand through his hair and yawned. He stretched his hands and blushed slightly as he realized he was still leaning against the butler. Walking over to the table, he picked up his breakfast and began to eat. He knew he had a long day ahead of him and he would need his energy for it. Besides, he hated skipping breakfasts. Raising a hand and waited for Sterling to undress him, Kanjo asked again "...aren't we supposed to go to the orphanage today?...can't remember it very clearly since my mind is still a bit fuzzy..." He chewed his food and swallowed it before turning his head to face his butler. He joked half-heartedly "urg...I feel like I'm a sleeping beauty...need a kiss from some random princes to wake up or something..." He muttered again "...urg...I swear I will never stay up late again...It's too painful..."

Damien chuckled again and grasped his master's white t-shirt before making his way toward the younger boy. Beginning to unbutton the boy's shirt, Damien answered dutifully "...well, Master...we're quite busy today...first of all, we'll have to vist your company at 9.00...checking on their work and...stuffs like that...then, we'll have to go to the airport to meet with our new customer...a filthy rich man might I add..." He paused and began to slip the boy his shirt and button it. He stood behind Hwang, purred slightly into his ears "...then we'll have our afternoon free...in the evening, we'll attend a party...Lady Anastasia sent us an invitation one week ago...". He smiled and asked after he had finished dressed up the boy "...do you wish to change our plan, Master Jay?..."

"The appointment was half an hour ago, Young Master," Sterling answered in a voice which showed no variation of feeling. What did he care of the boy was late - massively late - to a large meeting? Kanjo had given no order to wake him up early, and unless the master's security was at stake, Sterling did nothing - NOTHING - he was not expressly ordered to do. He did not even care of Kanjo became angry at him for it. Sterling was not one to care about much of anything, at least when it was early morning. He was not a morning person, even though he did not sleep. He just hated the time when the sun was coming up, and the human world was waking. To demon ears, which could hear for miles, it was so very noisy.

Sterling did not so much as twitch as Kanjo leaned up against him, nor when he pushed away and went to eat. He remained silent until Kanjo gave the silent order to undress him, which Sterling obeyed with just as much noise, walking across the room and stripping off the boy's nightshirt. He left Kanjo standing stark naked in the middle of his bedroom, returning to the dresser by the young master's bed to select his clothing for the day.

"We visit the orphanage after your meeting," he told Kanjo calmly, returning with a shirt and beginning to dress his young master once more. He did not care that Kanjo was naked. He cared little for such worldly lusts as food and pleasure. Buttoning up Kanjo's shirt, Sterling made no reply beyond a short glance to the sleeping beauty comment. He was not inclined to do much of anything, unless either the Master commanded it, or the situation demanded it. Otherwise he preferred to stand in polite, thoughtful silence behind Kanjo's shoulder, pretending to be an obedient butler, and nothing more.

"No," Youngjae sighed, ignoring the slight shudder that ran down his spine at Daemin's half-purr. He would not admit that it thrilled him.Ever. "It sounds fine. What is the party for?" he asked, stretching to readjust the sleeves of his clean shirt and sliding out of bed. He covered a yawn with one hand, staring around the room through dark eyes, and shook back a strand of golden hair. Maybe he should have it cut.... it was always getting in the way, but then, Youngjae did so love his blonde hair. "Is it the Lady's birthday or something?"

Kanjo choked on his food and coughed violently as he heard Sterling's answer. Great! He should have ordered his butler to wake him up sooner. This was just so...so...great! He thought sarcastically. Turning his head to face his butler, Kanjo ordered curtly "We're leaving, Sterling..." He raised an elegant eyebrow when he saw his butler stood silently behind him. First, the man used his sadistic sense of humor to wake him up and now he decided to behave like an obedient butler? Kanjo suppressed a shrug from his shoulder. He never shrugged...ever. It was not good for business. He took his glasses on the nightstand and began to clean it. He ordered once again "...tell me our schedule...with time, please..." He put his glasses on and looked at his reflection in the mirror. Well, at least he looked proper enough. He masked his face into an arrogant mask, his personality was carefully hidden underneath layers of pretense. Nodding his head one last time, he strode out of the room confidently, didn't even bother to wake for his butler because he knew the man...well, demon...would follow him no matter what.

"What is the party for? Is it the Lady's birthday or something?"

Hwang asked and Damien answered cheerfully "...nope, Master Jay...it's the usual stuff...you know, the kind of party that people come and meet with potential customers...make acquaintance and things along those lines..." He covered his mouth to prevent a giggle as he saw Hwang's shiver and he added "...plus...Lady Anastasia has a very cute daughter...maybe I can..." He paused as if he was trying to search for the right words "...perhaps I can have a thing or two with her..."

He opened the door for his Master and waited for the boy to walk out. He teased as he held the doorknob "...lady first..."

β€œYes, my lord,” Sterling whispered, following after Kanjo as he strode from the room. Out of nowhere, it seemed, but really out of a deep pocket in his suit jacket, he produced a handheld electronic scheduler. Oh, the wonders of the twenty-first century. These things were so useful. Sterling could remember his butler days in the past, when he’d had to carry around sheaf after sheaf of paper just to keep his former masters in order. Such a pain it had been… β€œSeven thirty, meeting with your subordinates at the local cafΓ©. Ten o’clock, visit the orphanage. Twelve o’clock noon, return for lunch, dress, and otherwise prepare for Lady Anastasia’s… party.”

Sterling finished and tucked the device neatly away, folding his hands once more behind his back as he trailed after Kanjo. Normally the schedules were more packed than that, but with Anastasia’s party taking up most of the night Sterling had seen to it that Kanjo not be too tired before the festivities started. He had to preserve his master’s health. As butler, after all, that was his first and only duty.

β€œThe car is waiting to take us into the city, Young Master,” he told Kanjo. β€œWill I be driving, or Mr. Stillet?” It was only on a rare occasion that the driver – or anyone besides the butler – was actually allowed behind the wheel of the sleek, expensive black limousine.
______________________________________

Youngjae sighed irritably, rubbing at the bridge of his nose as though the thought of the party – and of Damien’s games – gave him a headache. He could not fathom the demon’s interest in human girls. Youngjae, personally, found them flighty, irritating, and more than too interested in the personal affairs of men. Surely demon girls would offer more interest, more challenge, to his butler?

He opened the door for his Master and waited for the boy to walk out. He teased as he held the doorknob "...lady first..."

Youngjae, who had spaced out as they walked, came back to the world and narrowed his eyes at Damien.
β€œYou are out of line,” he told his butler quietly, dangerously. As though he could ever really threaten the demon. But it was Damien’s job to acknowledge Youngjae’s desires, and obey them. Throwing his blonde hair out of his face, Youngjae strode through the door first and continued walking. β€œWhere do we go first, Damien? What is the schedule?”

Kanjo sighed at the thought of having to attend another party...again. How many had he attended in this month alone already? It was beginning to bore him out but as much as he hated to admit it, those parties helped him greatly in his relationships. He ran a hand through his short black hair and nodded his head at Sterling's answer. Thankfully, his schedule was not as tight as he first thought. He glanced at Sterling and answered his butler's question "...you, Sterling..." He rubbed his sore head as another headache began to form. He grasped his suitcase and looked at his reflection in a nearby mirror before nodding his head again in satisfaction. Good, his clothes were perfect.

He walked passed the maids and ignored them as they bowed their heads and greeted him. He was late already. Needed to get going...no time for this. He scowled and tightened his grip on his suitcase. He had better not lose this important contract. He grunted and walked to the black limo, waiting for Sterling to open the door and take him to his next destination.

β€œYou are out of line,”

Hwang hissed and Damien felt his body stiffened before his eyes turned cold and emotionless. All traces of the previous playful emotion had gone. He bowed his head and said respectfully "My deepest apologize, Master..." He knew that Hwang would never truly threaten him but as a butler, his foremost responsibility was to please his Master. He carefully kept his face emotionless as he answered Hwang's question "we'll visit your company first, Master...Your limo has already been waiting for you outside..." He took a deep breath and gripped his tie, tightened it and buttoned his shirt carefully. Now was not the time to mess around.

Sterling nodded in silent acceptance, privately wondering what the point was in having a driver if he never drove. The butler opened the door for Kanjo, bowing the boy through and closing the door behind him, then walked around the car to the driver's side door. He swung into place, not bothering with the seatbelt. Why bother when you could not be killed? It would only be a hindrance.

"Please strap yourself in, Young Master," Sterling called quietly. "I will have us at your meeting before the hours is out." Which meant speeding like a madman. But he wasn't a madman - he was a demon.
___________________________________________

"Good," Youngjae muttered, shaking his head slightly and heading out the front door, absorbed in his thoughts. This demon really was too much... and now Youngjae felt bad for reprimanding him. Damien was more fun when he was being crazy...
He pulled the car door open and climbed into his seat, waiting for Damien to join him. The driver glanced nervously into the back seat. He was not so keen as Youngjae at the thought of having the butler in the car with him.

Kanjo sighed but complied nevertheless. Well, he had full trust in Sterling that the man would take him there before the hours is out but he wasn't sure if he could keep his life with the speed Sterling would be driving. Sometimes, he wondered if he made the right choice in trusting Sterling in matters like this. He closed his eyes as he felt the car sped up. Well, it didn't matter anymore. All he had to do now was...praying for the best, he guessed. He muttered softly underneath his breath "You'd better drive me there on time, Sterling..."

Damien mentally smirked as he could feel his master's uneasiness. His eyes shone with satisfaction and he ticked another in his checklist 'making Master Jay guilty for the day: check'. Oh, how he loved teasing his Master. It was very satisfying, sensing the younger boy's obvious guilt. He waited until his master had sat down and walked into the care gracefully. He moved just a little closer to the boy than he first intended and purposely brushed the tip of his fingers slightly on the boy's palm. He folded his hands in his lap and said to the driver "alright, Jackson...please take us to Master Jay's company...we don't want them to wait for us, do we?"

"Of course, Young Master," Sterling answered, and his lips curved into a slight smile, perhaps the frightening expression Kanjo ever made. It was safer for everyone when he showed no emotion at all. "Please, do not look out the window."

They had already been traveling fast. Now, Sterling pressed the accelerator straight down into the floor, and the car shot forwards. A human would already have crashed, but Sterling was not - and had never been - human. There was no danger of a crash for him. He sped around corners, dodged cars, occasionally rode up on strips of sidewalk not inhabited by civilians. He drove like a maniac. A supernatural maniac. No police man could have caught him.

And no one got hurt.
________________________________________

Youngjae sighed quietly and leaned back in his chair, crossing his arms as he stared out the window. "Go fast," he growled. "Or we'll be late..."
He said it out of necessity, not because he wanted to make it to the company on time. He honestly did not care. He hated his employees. They always tried to take advantage of him, and they simply did not seem to learn that it was impossible. They would never take advantage of him. He was too smart, and more than that, he had a demon butler at his side who would willingly murder anyone who annoyed him. A little too willingly, in fact...

Kanjo let out a huge breath he didn't even realize he was holding. Checking himself carefully to see if he got any broken bones, Kanjo nodded his head in satisfaction. He was not hurt, that was good. He stumbled slightly as he opened his seat-belt and shook his head to get rid of the slight dizziness that had made its way to his head when Sterling was driving with the speed that could be rival with the light.

Coughing slightly to clear his throat, Kanjo spoke at last "...alright...I think we have... 45 minutes before the meeting is over?...Sterling, let's go and get over with this..." He muttered underneath his breath as he held his suitcase tightly and tightened his tie "god knows children are much more easier to deal with rather than a bunch of old, bald men that like to complain and cry like babies..."

He schooled his mask into an emotionless mask as he reached his next destination 'the meeting room'. He ordered curtly, growing more annoying with each passing second as the thought of having to listen to useless reports that contained almost no useful information.

"Sterling...open the door"

Damien chuckled softly as he sensed his Master's annoyance. Well, he had to agree with his Master on that one. The employees were indeed very, very annoying though he couldn't kill any of them yet. It would not look good on Master's profile and so, if he wanted, he could only make it as an 'accident' and not an 'assassinate attempt'. He pouted slightly. That was no fun. He relaxed into a comfortable position and simply enjoyed the scene as they passed through several blocks.

Finally, as the car reached its destination, it stopped abruptly, making Damien lean forward a little but he quickly regained his composure. He brushed the invisible dust off his suit and opened the door for Hwang to walk out. Smiling and tossed the young boy a wink, he spoke "...Welcome, Master Jay, to your company..."

Sterling straightened his jacket slightly as he swung out of the car, pulling the door open to let Kanjo out. He made no reply to the boy's discontented mutterings as they walked up into the company - he was of the opinion that discontented mutterings did not ask for or merit a response. As such, it was mostly in silence that he walked down the hallways at his master's back, to the meeting hall where the clients would be waiting.

"Sterling...open the door"

"Yes, of course, Young Master," Sterling answered quietly, opening the door and bowing deeply to wait for Kanjo to walk through. The boy did not get the chance. One of the clients had jumped up at the sound of voices beyond the door and come running out the door. He seized Kanjo by the shoulders and held him quite forcefully at arm's length.

"Let's get a look at you~" the man practically shouted, and Sterling winced slightly, though he did not come up out of his bow. "Oh, my god have you grown!" the man cried, leaping back from Kanjo and running his hands excitedly through his tawny curls. In the process he knocked back into Sterling. The client whipped around with a cry of shock. "Ah! Sterling! I'm so sorry! I didn't see you there~!"

Sterling sighed and straightened up, looking at the man entirely without expression. "Of course, Master Harper," he murmured. James Harper... a high-level businessman and a complete idiot. Too bad it would hurt Kanjo's business if Sterling destroyed him. "It's quite alright."

Harper grinned and turned again to Kanjo.
"He's as butler-y as ever~"
_____________________________________________

Youngjae ducked out of the car and cast Damien a cold look.
"I've been here before, Damien," he muttered. "I know where we are."

He gave his head a fierce shake, straightening his hair, and started up the walk towards his company.
"Let's just get this over with, shall we?"
