Personality

Personality: Sam is a man given to slow deliberate thought, but his temper is quick and vicious. He is kind and tender until provoked. He will defend his freedom at all costs.

Appearance: Sam stands at 5'11 with broad shoulders and burly arms. His short haystack-blond hair sticks out above his pale blue eyes and hawk-like nose, which has been broken many times before. He has a few day's growth of beard which he constantly rubs with his thick callused fingers. He eschews the "usual" druid attire in favor of some good leathers and a forest green cloak. He leans overly much on his staff with a slight limp.

Equipment

Weapons: A large cedar staff, worn from use, and a small sharp knife made from bone.

Familiar: Sam has a hawk-owl

History

History: Sam Harlton was born the second son on a small farmstead. From the time he could walk Sam would help Pa and his elder brother by grabbing their tools and helping clean up after the day was done or helping Ma and his sisters by gathering water and reed stalks to help make baskets. He eventually grew into a young man and began to stalk the forest, not comfortable with any of the trades offered to him. He didn't want to be a blacksmith or a cooper. He enjoyed his freedom too much to be cooped up in a shop all day. His brother was going to get the farm and his sister's had all been married off. After a few weeks of contemplation and a teary good bye from his mother and father, Sam decided to venture away from his home village of Oakdale in search of purpose.

He knew enough of survival and hunting to strike it on his own when he decided that the tradesman's life was not for him. He became an adept hunter; woodland traps and the bow, fishing hooks and boar spears. Wherever and whenever Sam hunted he was careful to only take what he needed and only hunted plentiful game.

After a few months of traveling different woodlands and mountains in quiet contemplation Sam was approached by a half-elven druid named Davindol. Davind offered to teach Sam the ways of the druid and start him on a path of inner peace and to find dichotomy within himself and eradicate it.

Sam now travels the forests and small roads of the world helping farmers and isolated villages.
