Likes: Showing off, proving himself, his oldest brother, dragons, the thrill of adventure, storm dragons, winning

Dislikes: Being treated like a child by his mother, losing, feeling left out, being stuck in his room

Strengths: Eric has a nearly indomitable spirit. Once he commits to something, he refuse to give up on it. He is the fastest and most agile of his brothers, and the best with a bow. He is always willing to try something new.

Weaknesses: Eric has a bad habit of not knowing when it is a good idea to quit, and often gets himself into trouble because of this. He also is extremely irritable when he feels chained down. He is the physically weakest of his brothers, a fact which never ceases to annoy him. He can occasionally be a little selfish, but at heart is a good person.

Personality: Two things truly define Eric. The first is that he is highly competitive, and never gives up. The second is that above all else, he treasures the sense of freedom. Though sometimes clouded by selfishness, his moral compass is very strong, and always knows what the right thing is, even if he won't admit it. He looks up to Allard, his oldest brother, above all others. He wants to be just as good at swordsmanship as Allard, if not better.

History/Background: Allard was the last born son of the King and Queen, and is often picked on by his brothers for this. His mother wanted him to be more like Lucas, while he looked up to Allard. When his mother learned this, she tried to make him spend more time with Lucas. Eric viewed this as a challenge, and fought tooth and nail to be like Allard. When he was six, he took to climbing the castle walls. When he was nine, he nearly killed himself from falling off the walls. His mother then learned of his new "hobby", and tried to keep him from doing it. Undetered, Eric continued to climb, and can travel the walls with ease. When Eric was given the power to control storm dragons, he instantly took to the idea of dragon riding. He enjoys it so much, he does it on a regular basis now.

*Misc: The only person that Eric minds losing to in a challenge is Allard, but even that he isn't too partial on.

Weapon of Choice: Twin shortswords. He also has a bow and set of arrows for dealing with foes at range.

So begins...

When Eric heard his father say he could not go, he was positively livid. He was not a child anymore. He had fought, and trained, and worked hard for this journey. But he had anticipated this, and prepared a response. Both he and his dragon spent all night discussing it, and both agreed he should go. When his mother asked him, he boldly stepped forward.

"Mother" he said in the most mature voice he could muster, "I have spent time thinking of this adventure my brothers will take. If the dark dragon is as powerful as Bavmorda says, they will need all the effort they can get. I have trained hard, harder then ever before. My sword arm is strong, as is my dragon. I'm ready to fight for my home" When he finished, he muttered a silent prayer to Zeus and Hera that his parents would concede.

Eric bowed his head respectfully. "Yes father." he said. Eric walked out of the throne room, and absentmindedly looked out the window in the hall, when he saw Allard riding into the castle. An idea came to Eric, and he glanced inside the throne room to make sure his parents were still busy. Seeing as they were, Eric opened the window, and approached the end of the hall. He then turned around, and sprinted towards the open window. At the last second, he grabbed the edge of the window, and flung himself onto the wall outside. Making sure he wasn't seen, he shut the window with his foot.

Glancing at Allard's position, Eric traced a path across the walls and masonry to him. Starting slow, he moved across the walls with easily practiced grace. He didn't move too fast, remembering his little accident years back. To safely move quickly, he vaulted himself across bits of flat masonry. When he neared Allard's location, he looked down. He was still too high up to just drop down, but he was moving too slowly to reach Allard in time. "Allard!" he called out, hoping he would be heard. "Wait for me there! I need to talk to you! It's important!" He continued his descent gracefully, as he lowered himself halfway down the wall.

Leon heard the speech of the great king who was his father as he wanted to be anywhere but here, the mission, the reason that he and his brothers and sister were able to control the powerful and ancient dragons, it had to do with some Crazy God seeking revenge against the kingdom and a Dark Dragon even more powerful than he'd ever seen, and having seen the power of the dragons he had to be ridiculously strong at the point of being allmighty.

No, he didn't like the idea in the least, luckily he had the privilege to refuse and he would had done it if not for the fact that his younger siblings would be the last defense against God, that was something that he wouldn't allow or least that was what he intended to do when Eric asked permission to go, the little fool wanted to go to be the dessert for the dragon, of course he, his brothers and the wizards would be the main dish.

He and his twin received the blessings of his mother when Eric and Allard left the area with her wishes for the future, Leon regreted having to disappoint her, one thing was to know and the other was like, and Leon didn't like the position of General, if he come back alive this would be the last time that Leon Twin Brother of Lucas and Second Prince of the Kingdom of Hera made its appearance.

"Father, Mother" he speaking to his majesties when Lucas left he room "I hope that Allard doesn't allow Eric to come with us, he is young, brash, confident of his own strength and, if you'll excuse me, I have hunted hundreds of animals like that and they are the easiest to kill." Now that his father had delegated the final decision to his older brother that was all he could do, so retired to let the kings ponder his words.
The other problem that he had now was Glaurung the Earth Dragon was more than willing to go into battle, Leon didn't feel like dealing with him right now so he decided to take a nap in the shade of a good tree.

Allard came to a halt when he heard his youngest brother's voice from high above him. He looked around, only to see Eric climbing the walls of the castle - again. Groaning, Allard gave the boy a stern look, but waited for him to come down to meet him. "Eric! Pray tell, what is so important that you're risking your neck by climbing the walls?!" Allard shouted to the boy. He hoped that it didn't have anything to do with the dragon killing business, although be believed Eric to be spirited; Allard did not want him to go deep in his heart. In fact, he would much rather be the only person risking their life - his family was far too precious too him.

Allard saw Eric finally jump down and catch up to him, when he saw a villager covered in blood run through the courtyard towards them. He panicked, why would a villager be in the castle? Why was he covered in blood? It was clear that it wasn't anything that was good - the man has fear plastered on his face.

"Your Majesties!" The man cried as he reached the two princes. "I...I - ah..." The man was short of breath, he probably ran all the way to the castle.

"Slow down, good man! What news do you carry?"

"Your Majesties, Ser-Ser-Serpira destroyed our town!" The man cried out. Allard froze, a mournful look on his face. It was starting.

"Good man, you have done well. Servants! Take care of him, give him good clothes and good food, this man has earnt it. One of you send the word to my father." Allard shouted to the servants that were scattered on the courtyard. Quickly, the man was taken away for rest. Eric was still by his brother's side and Allard noticed Gildon watching from afar. He heard his good friend's call, although it would have to wait a while. He has to deal with the youngest prince first.

"Eric, what is it?" He asked.

Eric shook his head when he heard the poor man's news. So Serpira was truly begining his mad vendetta. All the more reason for him to come as well. "I talked with mother and father about coming with you." he said. "They said that the final say lies with you. Before you say no, know that I am not the only one who believes I should go. Demaxion also thinks I should go. He says that the other dragons agree with him." This, however, was not the full story. The dragons also thought that Dykyri should go as well. Eric left this out because he thought that at least one of them should stay behind to guard the castle from the nefarious forces of Serpira.

Eric hoped that Allard would concede, but would respect his choice regardless. Had his parents simply said no, Eric had made plans to sneak out of the castle to go anyway. However, Allard had enough pull with Eric to make him stay. Once, he had even managed to get Eric to stop climbing, but only for a week. After that, everyone gave up on the idea of getting him to stop with his most dangerous hobby. "We weren't given our gifts idlely, Allard" continued Eric. "We were given them for a purpose. This journey is that purpose. So please, let me help you."

Gildon looked at Eric, then back at his old friend. "You make a fair challenge, my lord. But I propose if you lay three hits on him first, he will also stay. That way, the battle doesn't last forever," He nods, stepping back.

"I will judge, and judge fairly. Lord Eric, I wish you the best of luck," He bows his head, watching the two of them closely.

***************

Bavmorda smiled and took her hand. "Come, my princess. There is some shade behind the castle that won't be to bright for either of our eyes. Also, I am sure that is where your pretty dragon shall meet us," He smiles, leading her out the back of the castle.

They walked out the back and, near where they were, the saw the Prince Leon napping under a tree. Bavmorda, always being a trickster, wiggled his nose and winked, the land below the sleeping prince beginning to shake and vines gripping him.

The vines began to wiggle around him, loosely hugging the prince and tickling him. Bavmorda laughed, explaining to Dykyri what was happening. "I made my little vines tickle your sleeping brother, the prince Leon, to wake him. You deserve to see your brothers, my princess," He ruffles her hair lovingly, smiling down at her.

Eric released his held breath. "Very well" he said. "I accept your challenge." Up untill last week, Eric would have considered this challenge against Allard to be similar to being told he couldn't go. However, he had been training hard since then, and had a number of new tricks up his sleeve. Demaxion had told him to try using his natural agility from climbing in his sword fights, as opposed to his previous beserker strategy. Obviously, a beserker strategy here would doom him to defeat from the very begining.

Eric casually drew both his swords from his back. While he had taken lessons on technique from the sparring master, he had taken lessons on his mentality from Demaxion. He thought back to his lessons as he prepared himself. Demaxion told him "Control your breathing. Show no emotion. Know your opponent, because everything about him can define his strategy. Don't just look at your opponent, see your opponent, for then you can determine his individual attacks." Eric closed his eyes and composed himself. When he opened them, he stared at Allard intently, watching his every move. "I'm ready when you are, brother" he said. He took his prefered stance, which was his left foot ahead of his right at shoulder. He raised his left sword upward in front of his face, and his right one above his head.

Eric was confused. Allard didn't normally swing his sword so sloppily. Obviously, Allard knew Eric was planning something, and wanted to find out. Eric decided he would have to wait on using his knew skills. In the mean time, he watched the blade. Normally, Allard's swipes were too strong for Eric to directly parry and force back. Eric had been planning to avoid Allard's attacks all together, knowing that while Allard was stronger than him, he was faster than Allard. However, this was too good of an opportunity to pass up.

Eric moved forward to meet Allard's blade. He flipped the blade in his left hand into a reverse grip, in order to give his parry a little more leverage. He thrust the blade to meet Allard's, and moved up closer to his brother. "Getting sloppy, Allard?" Eric retorted. "I thought you said that you weren't going to go easy on me." He came forward with his right blade, and set up his trap. If he knew Allard, than he knew his first reaction would be to shove away his left blade, and block the right one. Eric altered his grip on the left blade slightly, so swinging it back into a normal grip would give his sword forward momentum.

Allard smirked at Eric, their blades meeting. "I'm just testing you, little brother." He shoved away the left blade and immediately blocked the right one. He knew that he had a blind spot because of his action, however he thought little of it and thrust his blade towards his brother - this time with perfect precision. The steel clinged as the swords hit each other with more force every time.

"Come on, I know that you can do better!" Allard laughed as their swords met again. He covered his blind spot for a second, however he had to dodge another of Eric's attacks, leaving his right side open again. Cursing under his nose, Allard hoped that Eric didn't take advantage of it, although he would be surprised if he didn't. If he was lucky, Allard would be quick enough to doge it, however the chances were slim - he was strong not agile. He could just play dirty and win that way, but it wasn't the right thing to do and also it was his brother he was fighting against.
