Gabriel damn near jumped out of her skin when she heard the voice call out from the other balcony. She turned and saw a Pooka. Gabriel began sizing them up rather quickly from her experiences as an ambassador.
At first glance one might mistaken him for a girl, but the way he holds himself is gives it away. As Gabriel was processing all the details of this strange person two things came very apparent. First was the way he held himself. His stance suggested he was well trained in combat, leaving no openings. Anyone who had any sort of combat training would spot this. Second thing she noticed was his earring which marked him as the strongest fighter in his clan.
It took all of gabriel's will from bolting at the very moment she made eye contact with the pooka. She oh so desperately wanted to but if he was going to be at the ball this moment was very crucial. She carefully formed her words as she prepared to exit. "Hello there. Are you by chance going to the mayor's ball? If you are then it may be that we'll see each other again. I'm afraid I am still preparing to go so I must bid you adieu." No sooner did she finished saying this did she head towards the door to her apartment. As she entered she called out to Cerise. "I hope you picked out the dress, I got to leave, soon!"
Cerise walked out of Gabriel's room as she heard this, giving a puzzled reaction. "What do you mean
soon? You don't have to be ready for another hour." Exasperated Gabriel hurriedly explained what happened. "Now hurry up and tell me if everything is ready!" she ended up barking out as got even more and more anxious to avoid a longer conversation with the pooka next door.
"All right. The dress is laid out on the bed. I'll get the vehicle ready and meet you out on the balcony."
Gabriel gave a sigh of relief as Cerise left and entered her room. The dress was a pale red, almost pink. It wasn't all that flashy and kept everything modest. Long sleeves that went to the wrists and a full skirt that went to her ankles. If Gabriel didn't like wearing finery she probably would end up wearing dresses like this more often. She approached the bed and started to change into the dress.
Alaena reached out and knocked on Asher's door. "Asher Williams? this is officer Jones and my partner officer Smith. We are to be your escorts to the ball." Alaena really didn't like this part of her job and would prefer it if she was sent straight to the ball and did security detail. But her boss did a mass of budget cuts and dropped quite a few officers in the process leaving a lot of people on extra shift work.
John looked down the hall and muttered. "Weren't their two other guests in this building?" Alaena smirked a little at her partners comment. "I did some background checking on those two. Turns out both of them are rather good at defending themselves. One is also marked as a low priority guest while the other adamantly refused any escorts whatsoever. Fine by me, after all it's our boss who is making the mistake."
"that is true i guess. But still... I got this nagging feeling that something bad is about to happen"
Alaena grimaced at her partner's words "Better make sure that nothing bad happens then right? After all we are the ones making sure this thing goes smoothly."
