Personality: Marcus, trained as a page from a young age, bears a high amount of loyalty towards Edwin and his lineage. From their experiences with Marcus, many would describe Marcus as being overprotective. When not dealing with serious matters, Marcus is somewhat jovial, but prefers to keep his own company.
History: Marcus never knew his parents; all he remembered of his earliest days were the damp smell of the orphanage and the terrible food. Life picked up shortly after, at the age of ten, when he won a contest of sorts for anyone who wished to be a page. His years of training as a page and squire were well worth it. He emerged, at the age of eighteen, a proud and headstrong knight of Galandra, just like the other troops.
That, however, is where the differences stopped. In two years, Edwin had sent a challenge to any of his knights that wished to join the Royal Guard: "Bring me that which is most valuable to you." Many knights went off on brave adventures to seek treasures. Most of them were killed. Marcus just wandered about. He was all alone, without the company of the other knights. He was sure that he was going to be unable to fulfill the king's request, and earn a spot in the Royal Guard. One day, while attempting to drown his doubt in as much beer as a Berserker could drink, he met Ferren, a Lytheren who aided in the war against Crimeth. Over the course of several months, Marcus would live with Ferren and his wife, Arlyn - also a member of the revolution against Crimeth. There, he would learn that freedom and duty was something that every man should cherish.
Returning to the Galandra, Marcus joined the other knights in the presentation of their most valuable posession. Many presented great treasures, most of which were obtained through terrible deeds. Marcus presented a speech, describing, in great detail, the glory of freedom, loyalty, and honesty. Agreeing with his speech, Edwin gave Marcus a spot in the Royal Guard, much to the envy of the other knights. Over the course of about ten years, he would rise to the position of the Captain of the Royal Guard, and became close friends with a group of three other guards. All anyone will say past that, is that on the day of Gabriel's disappearance, Marcus disappeared as well. Some say he was murdered, and others say he is alive.
Appearance: Marcus stands at 6'2", and, with his armor, weighs over 200 pounds. He bears a grand mane of thick, black hair at shoulder length, and has deep-set sapphire eyes. His muscular body has some scars, but these are generally hidden under armor or clothing.
