Description

Piper Jane Stone

Image

Age: 17
Gender: Female
Role: Hunter
Description of appearance: She has blue eyes that sparkle with mischief. She looks a few years less than she is, and she isn't really helping herself by keeping her blonde hair as untidy as she does. A bright pink-red streak in her hair is a good identifier for the girl, that and her pale skin.

Personality: In a word, fiery. Strong willed and hot headed are also words that could be used, but fiery is the one that describes her the most. She won't give up unless it is hopeless, and she will not stop to take your help unless you prove your worth. She is bold and brazen, and she often just doesn't care enough to make friends. It's simpler that way, easier. Her voice will be heard if she wishes to be, and anyone who gets in her way will pay for it. If she wants something, she will get it, and no living thing can stop her. She isn't heartless, but she is very intelligent, so she knows she has to kill to survive. She's never been the luckiest of a person, so she figures she must do what has to be done, and get whatever she needs, because luck isn't going to help her.

History: She was the first daughter of two low (even for the lower class) rung people. If only it was that. Sadly (but not surprisingly, with her luck) they had a son before her. She was illegal. Of course, as a baby she didn't know what that meant for her, so her parents hid her at first. Then when she could walk and understand, it was sprung on her that she was pretty much dead already. Her father, the kind man he was, taught her everything she would need to survive. He his with her in town and taught her to build fire, so she would be warm. He taught her to wield almost every weapon in the book, so she would be safe. By the time she was 14 she was a machine. She could kill without compassion and do it swiftly, and she could survive in almost any place the world decided to pull out of the woodwork just for her. Her father had decided that any longer that she stayed in town was one more second closer to death. Her bags were packed within a day, which wasn't much to begin with, and she went into more serious hiding. She never stayed in one place for more than a night and most of her nights were spent in the woods or in abandoned buildings. Though, no one can hide forever and even though she put up a valiant effort, she was caught at 17. When she didn't get chosen for a participant, it did not surprise her. She wasn't good enough for that. No, the hunter position much more suited her life.

Skills and strengths:
  • She can handle almost any weapon lethally, except a gun. She is okay with a gun because she found one and practiced with it for a little while, but it soon ran out of bullets and she couldn't find (read, steal) any more.
  • If it is not locked in a heavy lock box with the owners eyes and the scope of a rifle pointed at the item, she can steal it. Or, she almost always can.
  • Things like feelings don't worry her because unless it is her father, who last she heard had died in a fire, she doesn't care enough to love or feel. She tells herself that, at least.
  • She knows many ways to start a fire and to find all the necessities needed to survive anywhere.

Weaknesses:

  • Despite what she may/may not tell herself, she does have a soft spot for deals. Any sort of deal, and she has a habit of saying "Oh, you are in a predicament. Wouldn't want to make a bargain with a mad woman for your life, would you?" before killing someone (or something, but that is a secret).
  • After so many years of hiding, it would be wrong to say she isn't just a tad crazy.
  • When she was 15, she met a child who she protected- the little tike had invaded her home for the night and when asked, gave her doll for her life. It had made her laugh so much that she took the girl, only around 9 or 10, in. It's something that made her soft towards small children. Not that she would ever admit it.

Three days.

That's how long Piper had before the Game started and she would kill as many participants as she could. Three days to plan, to get what she needed, and to get hidden. The get what she needed part was easy. Weaponry was scattered about the forest and she had already found a small black book bag with some water purifiers, a canteen, and a serrated knife. She could easily just walk around and pick up whatever was discarded that she could use. Then, she'd get a good idea about the layout of the arena and possibly even find the flag. Knowing where it was would not let her win, but it was a sure fire way to find a participant. That is, if she couldn't find one on her own. Piper decided that she should stop to fill up the small, empty canteen she found in the book bag. She would need water anyway. Her survival would ensure she at least got a crack at killing a participant, so she needed to make sure she had enough water and food to do just that.

Her mind was teeming with half-made plans and thoughts of where to find food when she saw a dried blood mark on a nearby tree. Someone must have clutched it for support. "Shouldn't the arena be cleaned? I mean, it's good that it wasn't, but still." She muttered to herself before stepping closer quickly to find out if she could find the direction of the person who made it. Once she decided that she couldn't get a good enough direction planned, she frowned. She would have to search the other trees. She couldn't just pass up this luck- she never had any luck. Maybe someone died around here, last time or the time before that. More importantly, maybe they left their camp or supplies around the area they died. All thoughts of water were quickly discarded as she swiftly pushed the canteen back into its slot on the side of the back pack and looked around for other marks.

When she couldn't find any other marks, she kicked the nearest tree in anger and cursed at no one in particular. This was of course what would happen. "Well that was fun while it lasted. Back to water" she muttered to herself and started walking again.
