Physical Description:
The Odysian project of reconstruction of their humanity has shown its most visible effects on their bodies. The Odysian body appears human and possess a similar structure to the human organic version however these bodies are much heavier than any human. It is fairly easy and straightforward thing to distinguish between Odyssian and human; despite many programs designed to mimic human behaviour the Odyssians are still a very mechanical species and appear to be strangers in physical interaction wherever they go.
Avia is no different than the rest of her kin and finds the use of some mechanisms within the artificial body puzzling. She does not know when for example when to smile and leaves her facial expression at its default mode during most of the day.
Her current body was made out of her desire to appear older among the humans she works with so that she may gain more respect from them in what she considers a natural reaction to appearance. While the body is not one of the current fashionable types Avia does use the hair colour shifting program which changes its colour slightly whenever Avia's mood changes as a means the Odysians consider effective while communicating with none Odysians (fading white being the default color)
Avia's eyes are a common silver default but these can be changed to other settings such as infrared etc.
Like most Odysians Avia's management of her body is rather mechanic however this is not an inherent trait among them; the Odysians are able to use the full programs of their human mimicking devices while among their own kind since unlike interaction with aliens and especially other humans there is no fear of misunderstanding and embarrassment.
Personality: At 76 years of age Avia has lived during the first years of integration into the fleet and this has been in her assessment the most influencing factor in the development of her profile (personality)
76 years may be considered old and experienced among humans and some species but it is nothing to the long lived Odysians to whom Avia is still a child. This conflict between Avia's life among the humans and the view of her people had frustrated her because she feels that even with a sense of responsibility quite unlike most young Odysians that her elders still treat her unfairly and do not take her seriously.
Avia is indeed a bit of a laughing stock among her people as they consider her seriousness and her show of age as a curious amusement. When Avia for example decided to adopt her current body her compatriots found it so amusing that one of them overloaded his spontaneous reaction program and continued laughing without pause for days until the malfunction was corrected in a new patch released as a result of the incident.
The very name "Avia" was chosen for her as nickname by her peers as a joke since in the ancient languages it means "Grandmother". Avia chose to bear the name with pride and has adopted it herself in what she views as a show of her resolve and what her peers view as a tedious joke which is no longer funny.
Avia has chosen to spend more time among the humans and other species as a result of not accepting this consensus and has adapted to their ways more than most Odysians who are frankly quite snobbish towards the "norms". Avia views humans as possessing a society she considers appropriate and enjoys living among them more then with her own people.
Avia is still far from reaching the Odysian maturity the perfect circle and is at odds with herself as one part of her supports her decision to detach herself from the Odysian community and the other rejects it as foolhardy. There is no active suspension of her membership in the community nor is there any bad feeling towards her apart from the normal reaction to a member of the ISS but Aiva is too proud to return home apart from rare visits to her parents.
Equipment: Avia possess all the devices she needs for her occupation inside her body. She keeps a stun gun like any security officer but is yet to use it on anything but a practice range (which she views as useless as the process of firing a projectile weapon is in her opinion simple mathematical calculation)
Avia's home is also similarly standard however one oddity is Avia's GECK gardening device which Avia utilized to decorate her dwelling with plants; especially roses.
History: Avia is among the first generation of Odysians when her people joined the fleet. She was created from the bonding of her two "parents"; a rarity among the Odysians who normally bond together in larger groups.
Her first conscious thought was the realisation that she was a seperate entity from her "mother" to whom she was attached during this time and among her memories this one has a great significance. Since then her thoughts have been chaotically attempting to make sense of her existence which was the reason why comparatively Avia has possessed more bodies then other young Odyisians and not out of an interest in fashion.
Her affiliation to the ideal of rule of law caused her to come to conflict with members of her generation who mocked it. This led to a cyber-war between these young and adventures Odysians who viewed a bit of hacking as a laugh and Avia who saw it as an insult and took it very seriously.
When she was old enough to announce admin status over herself from her parents she did so and left to the great city ships of the humans where she has since stayed. The fleet was still recovering from the consequences of the "Great Hack" into the banking system which many considered Odysians to be responsible for but when she passed both the knowledge and the reliability test no one could refuse her application to join the ISS.
As the first Odyisian in the ISS Avia proved how valuable and capable Odyisians could be in network security however the general distrust of allowing any Odyisian near a network remained.
Avia after reaching a position of some influence created harsh tests and regulations for Odyisian recruitment such as a complete reading of their memory in three of the five security interviews.
This was considered a severe breach of privacy among the Odyisians but Avia dismissed criticism and went through all nine security checks herself despite being a long standing member of the ISS.
