Name: Maime Elsing
Age: 16
Race: Zombie - Maime may not be the brightest crayon in the box, but thatās due to her naivety, and not the stereotype people tend to connect to zombies. Maime is just as capable in mentality ā in fact, if anything, she suffers from the physical aspects of life. If she strains her body too far, the stitch work can become undone, and she will literally fall apart. Her left arm in particular, seems prone to detaching. However, she has learned to deal with it, and carries around a sewing kit at all times. She is quite skilled at putting herself back together. Due to these physical limitations, she can sometimes fall behind on brisk walks and often finds herself sitting on the sidelines for sports. Her fingers are too fumbling to do any nimble handiwork, so things such as knitting or piano are merely dreams for her. However, this is the only life she can recall, so sheāll just have to live with it.
Personality: Maime may be a little pampered for her kind, but her heart is in the right place. She is sweet, sometimes to the point of naĆÆve, which many people misunderstand for lack of intelligence. Anyone who takes the time to speak with her will quickly see this is not true. Maime has an interest in a wide variety of things, and has a particular fondness for poetry. She likes reading and listening to music. Sadly, she cannot play any instruments due to the intricate movements required from her fingers, and her singing is quite substandard as well. She loves hearing her pet songbird sing, but his throat has a tendency to come apart quite painfullyā¦ which comes to a different point. Maime is quite embarrassed about her body, and is easily embarrassed when her limbs come apart in front of others. She likes to fix herself in solitude, no matter how difficult it may be to repair alone. She doesnāt like it when people questions her background and condition, and becomes quiet when presented with conflict.
History/ Other: Contrary to what some may believe, her parents are not zombies as well. Her father is a human ā which is viewed as taboo by many of the monster realm, and her mother is the necromancer that fell in love with a human. In reality, Maime was once her fatherās younger sister, who had died at the young age of five, but she was reanimated. So powerful was her motherās magic that not only did she regain a life, but Maime regained a body that would grow overtime. Yes, it wasnāt the most lovely to see, but it could grow, it could move, and she could do as she wished with it. Maime couldnāt have been much happier. Yes, Maime isnāt her real name ā in all reality, she cannot remember her past, and thus, she can think of her older brother as her father wholeheartedly.
She grew up under their care, pampered as any other daughter would have been. She once had a songbird for a friend, but it was mauled by a cat. After pitiful pleading to her mother, the bird was brought back to life ā although its lovely songs now cause its throat to split apart. She fondly calls the little oriole āAileā.
However, the time came when Maime couldnāt be kept from the outside world for long. She had grown up with only her family, with no friends of her age of any sort. Therefore, she was sent to this academy for new opportunities, despite Maimeās protests. Now that she has accepted her fate, perhaps sheāll learn things newā¦
