Description

C'mon, show 'em what you're worth
Image

Full Name: Delphine Belle Snow
*:*Yep. Snow. Not at all a play on how damned pale I am.*:*

Image

Nickname: Sparrow (Only her grandmother, affectionately called Nana, called her this)
*:*Nana's little Sparrow...forever and always.*:*

Image

Age: 21 - October 7
*:*Libra. Scales. Balance of human and celestial. Hah.*:*

Image

Nationality: Half celestial, half mutt, (i.e. too many things to list off)
*:*French, Scottish, pinch of Russian, little bit ofIrish , and a whole list of other things. Just the average American girl...with a drastic twist.*:*

Image

Sexuality: Bisexual
*:*Not that I'll take whatever comes to me. I've got standards.*:*

Image

Species: Half angel, half human
*:*They used to call my kind Nephilim, but that name was negative. Just call me a celestial bastard - that's better suited.*:*

Image

Height & Weight: Five feet and three-fourths of an inch tall, one hundred twenty-three pounds.
*:*Just don't call me short.*:*

Image

Hair: Pure white, as if spun from the thin clouds of an early summer's day that taunt but never covering the sun.
*:*It's that soft, too.*:*

Image

Eyes: Pale orange, a celestial trait exclusive to her and her father. No other angel has orange eyes.
*:*I have contacts I can wear in public if I have to. I just don't like 'em.*:*

Image

Skin Tone: Snowy white, in spite of the fact that she spends an infinite amount of time in the sun. She doesn't even freckle.
*:*But I'm not Snow White. Dumb bitch, taking an apple from a creepy old lady.*:*

Image

Body type: Her petite height, slender limbs, and minor curves often have her described as a pixie. Her breasts and backside are small, but definitely there, more noticable when she decides to emphasize them.
*:*I'm a woman; women have curvature. I just don't have a lot.*:*

Image

Wings: With a span of thirty-eight feet from tip to tip, Delphine's white feathered wings put many of her father's kin to shame. Storm-associated angels like her father Barakiel and his twin brother Baradiel (angel of hail), as well as the great archangels, are the only beings with wings greater than hers, but of the largest wingspans, Delphine is the only one whose plummage is such a pure white it's iridescent - pastel shades like lavender, robin's egg blue, sunrise pink, soft yellow, delicate green, and pale orange gleam from her feathers under any sort of light.
*:*Shiny. Like that iridescent fabric you see sometimes.*:*

Image

Everyday apparel: Delphine is a huge fan of fluttering, flowing dresses, things that leave her wings free to breathe, open sandals, and elegant whimsy when she is on the ground. However, if she intends flight, she wears tight black pants, a well-fitted black halter top, her hair in a bun, and closed toe zip-up boots for greater aerodynamics
*:*It's not me fulfilling a stereotype about my father's people. It's just what's comfortable!*:*

Image

Personality: A wild spirit, Delphine is often capricious and unpredictable, just like the element her father wields so strongly. Delphine almost never does the same thing more than once, and because of this, Nana often had to struggle to keep her on task. When given something important, though, Delphine will do it with minimal question. She questions why her father and mother ever had anything at all, but she doesn't mind. Having an angel for a father was better than having a father who was absent from her life by choice.
*:*I feel bad for the girls who grow up without a real dad. Mine would be willing to adopt, if he had more free time.*:*

Talents~
Image
Electricity Manipulation (Advanced): As the daughter of a storm angel, Delphine is capable of some minor control of electricity. She can absorb power into herself in small amounts, comparing the rush of doing so to an addict getting his fix, and is able to use this energy she stores within her body to charge small electronics.
*:*Makes it impossible to own a cell phone.*:*

Image
Telepathy (Advanced): Though she cannot read minds, Delphine can project her thoughts, using her mind as an effective way to get the point across if she doesn't want to speak aloud. Some days, she refuses outright to speak aloud, preferring the speech-method of angels.
*:*Thought is considered a pure form of speech. It is very difficult to lie when you speak directly with your mind.*:*

Image
Truth Sight (Novice): On one of her father's more recent visits, Delphine was informed that because she is related to other angels, she may be able to use their abilities. Her favorite celestial "aunt," Lamechial, an angel who thwarts deception and at least appears female, has taken it upon herself to instruct the half-angel in the art of seeing the truth hiding within a lie. This gift is sporadic at best, but Lamechial believes that Delphine will be impossible to lie to.
*:*Auntie Lamechial is definitely one of my favorite relatives.*:*

Image
Heavenly Touch (Novice): A natural angelic trait Delphine was lucky to inherit, this is particularly harmful to creatures of hell, demons in particular. However, it requires intent to fully be used, and she is not the sort to wish harm upon anyone, even a demon, unless they've done her wrong first. She has used this ability before, only once, but knows she could use it again.
*:*It's the one thing Supernatural really got right about angels.*:*

Education: Home schooled by her Nana, Delphine has not had the amount of interactions one might expect her to have. She was extremely bookish as a child, due to not being allowed to play with other kids in case her wings became a problem in any way, but as she hit her teen years, she experienced some small rebelliousness. She would leave her homework until the last absolute second, sneak out for moonlit flights, stay up too late, all without interacting with others her own age. She's completed high school, and is currently searching for a good online college course in special effects makeup.
*:*Wild and intelligent. Two things Nana loved about me.*:*

Normal Possessions: Aside from her clothes and necklaces, of which there are too many to even begin listing, Delphine has brought three very specific things. First and foremost is her grandfather's pocketwatch, left to her when the man died, a stunning piece of bronze and clockwork with mother-of-pearl face and black enamel Roman numerals. She has replaced its chain and, when feeling particularly like keeping time, will wear it on its new chain as a necklace, without any other pieces of jewelry. Second of these is a porcelain doll, delicately crafted, with bright blue eyes, freckles, fire-red hair, and a green satin dress, whom she has affectionately named Moira. The doll is kept in a glass case and is never removed - Delphine has a special suitcase she places the case inside of for transportation to a new home. Third comes something from Nana - a silver and diamond bracelet and ring set, which she wears no matter what on her right hand. The ring adorns her middle finger, the bracelet her wrist.
*:*I only cling to what means the most.*:*

Family
Image
Mother: Rachelle Snow is thirty-nine years old, having given birth to Delphine less than a year after turning eighteen. When her daughter began exhibiting her celestial nature, the woman withdrew into a shell. She is prone to depression and violence alike, and cannot stand the sight of her daughter any longer.
*:*I think she misses the relationship with my father.*:*

Image
Father: Barakiel, angel of lightning. There isn't much of a relationship between the two, except for when Delphine's angelic abilities need that little extra push of guidance. He does still love her mother, but his duty to Heaven prevents him from doing anything about his feelings, save educating their daughter when he is available to do so.
*:*He may not let me call him "Daddy" anymore, but he's still very much my Daddy.*:*

Image
Grandmother: Nearly eighty years old and still extremely enthusiastic about everything, Gabrielle Snow, affectionately known by her only grandchild as Nana, is exceptionally accepting of the girl's powers. Or was, until a couple months ago. With Nana's departure from this world, Delphine is now alone.
*:*I miss you, Nana. A lot.*:*

Image
Aunt: Lamechial, angel who thwarts deception, is one of those who is literally impossible to lie to. Growing up with this angelic presence strong in her life, Delphine lives by the same code she does: Do not lie, and truth will always come to thee. It is Lamechial who visits most often, as her presence is nearly constantly upon the earth. Delphine always looks forward to these visits, and Lamechial's fantastic hugs.
*:*She even lets me call her Auntie.*:*

Current Relationships
*:*Besides family, I have nothing quite yet.*:*

Reply sample (At least 100 characters):
Delphine knelt beside the gravestone, placed just that very morning, and laid one hand flat against the smooth granite of its top. Her pale eyes remained locked on the words carved into the stone, reading over and over again the words she herself had chosen as her other hand wiped lightly at the thin tears that leaked from her eyes. She still mourned.

Gabrielle Amandine Snow

October 1935 - June 2014

You will always be missed, Nana.

"I'll always remember, Nana," she murmured, leaning closer to rest her cheek upon the cold stone. Her wings lay folded against her back, feathers gleaming in the light of the rising sun. A long trench coat, something she despised but had to wear in public, lay abandoned beside her, a ruby-toned contact case peeking out of one pocket. She'd shed all manner of disguise for this visit with her grandmother, however symbolic it might be. She had never hidden her true self for her grandmother, and had never needed to. "You taught me to accept myself for who I am, and I value that. But I no longer have you to protect me. I have to find my own place in this world now."

Slowly, she rose, lifting the coat in one hand and flinging it about herself. Her feathers seemed to protest at being confined, as usual, but she knew it was needed. The contacts could be put in later, when she was on board the bus towards a new haven. She didn't know much, only that it was a place she could be herself around others, - but that was all she needed, truthfully. She needed a place to keep her identity. To keep herself sane. One hand found the grip of each rolling suitcase she possessed, one so very much smaller than the other and containing only one thing, as she noticed the thick, dark clouds on the horizon.

Her father would say goodbye to the woman who raised his daughter within an hour.

This thought made her smile, narrowing her eyes upon the cloudbank as she focused her mind. *:*She always did love storms,*:* she told him. She felt the rumbling of his laughter through her mind before she saw the flash of lightning that was his usual hello. With that, she started towards the four-door Chevy that Nana had left to her, to continue forward in her life.

So begins...
