The young body guard stands only at an average height of five feet and eight inches. He has dark blue colored hair with even darker, strikingly blue eyes that are as cold as ice. He wears all black, the material heavy, but light weight enough to allow him to move his body quickly and efficiently. In a light silver color across the chest of his garb is a flame like symbol. Belts curl along his wrists and shoulders, his thighs and waist to hold various weapons on his person. Gold trimming lines the entire ensemble.
Zakiriya is a man of few words. He prefers actions instead of talking too much. He lets others do the talking. Because of his lack of conversation for the most part, Zakiriya can be considered a very cold individual. One, who many think, is uncaring about the people or events around him. This, however, is very far from the truth. In all actuality, Zakiriya is probably the most trustworthy, loyal, and caring person you will ever meet. He just doesn't find the need to talk all that often, a necessity. The way he shows his loyalty is through his actions. He will heed every order given, he hardly questions his superiors in regards to his orders either. Even so, that doesn't mean that he's a robot that has only one function. He can -and does- think for himself. Zakiriya knows right from wrong easily and isn't afraid to voice those opinions. It's probably the only time he'll have a lot to say (other than if he were ever ordered to stop his duties, he would fight for that).
In addition to this, Zakiriya is very reliable. He's on time, all the time. Never is he late, and it is actually one of his pet peeves for someone to be late. Also, he is a neat individual. His room is kept clean at all times, straightened and without an item out of place. He dislikes a mess and has to struggle to keep his impulse to clean aside. Which could be the reason to his room being pristine at all times in the knights barracks. He keeps his gear clean as well as his weapons. Though he's particular about his appearance, he's not overly adamant about it either.
He's an honorable man, and lives by a knights code as well as his own. Zakiriya prides himself in his skills with swords and knives and it shows as well. He is second to none in the guard. Many think he would make a good guard Captain, some do not. Zakiriya, though, prefers to stay a knight only and nothing more. To be in charge of more than ones self makes things all the more difficult. Still, when it comes down to it, he wouldn't think twice to throw himself before an enemy that threatened someone else.
Zakiriya is an expert in swordsmanship. He can wield any kind of weapon given to him with proficiency. He is good with long knives and daggers, throwing knives as well. He keeps himself armed at all times. The young knight is at his strongest when he's using a sword, more specifically his sword as it is tailored to him, length, weight and size of the handle. Zakiriya, along with his skills as a swordsman, is very fast. He is nimble, moving rapidly during a fight. Dodging, deflecting and practically dancing around his opponent is how Zakiriya wins most of his fights.
In addition, he has absolute control over his body. He can execute any movement in split second, but at the same time halt his body from doing so upon hearing an order to stop. Zakiriya will always fight to the death. He aims for vital areas only, areas that will kill instantly. The young knight doesn't waste any time dealing with people, nor does he enjoy putting others through pain unnecessarily. He would much rather finish off his opponent in one, clean swing, than have the fight last for a long time with no end in sight.
Though Zakiriya is unaware of it, he does posses magic to an extent. As much of his past is unknown to him, he doesn't realize that he has the ability to control and conduct electricity. This ability comes to him every so often and because it's a random occurrence, Zakiriya hasn't ever tried to train himself in producing the blue lightning. He doesn't know how it occurs, or even how he ended up with it. In fact, he's rather chaotic with it when it does arise and he's able to use it. However, the young knight does his best not to use this ability even when it does appear.
Also, it would seem that Zakiriya has a rather quick healing rate. It has always been like this for him, so Zakiriya doesn't question how or even where he got this ability from. The other knights, though, know that it's something completely different. They know that Zakiriya is on a whole different level than they are and often tell him. Still, Zakiriya doesn't heed too much to their whispered words.
Despite his abilities as a swordsman, Zakiriya is, unfortunately, only human. He is only so quick, and he is only so strong. Even the young knight has his limits, though they may be more extended than normal. To start, without his sword or knives, Zakiriya is rather helpless. He can hold his own in a hand to hand fight, but he's not nearly as efficient as he is with his weapons. Should it ever come down to that, he would find himself hard pressed to winning that fight.
To add to this, he's terrible when it comes to ranged attackers. Someone with a bow or crossbow can more times than not surprise him. He might be able to take out the arrows that would be launched at him, but unfortunately he would be rooted to the spot. Unwilling to leave his charge (the King) he wouldn't go after the ones shooting at him. This can lead to either himself or the King being injured if he's not careful. In such cases, Zakiriya will end up doing the most rash of things. Using his body as shield to the King.
Also, even though he does have magic himself, going up against someone with magic puts him at a greater disadvantage. Zakiriya dislikes magic entirely. He believes it to be a 'cheating' method to a fight and looks down upon it. He cannot match up to a sorceress or sorcerer when they're fighting him with their power. The young knight will do what he can, but in the end he won't be able to stand up to them for long. He would have to be extremely lucky in such cases to win a fight against a magic user.
As mentioned before, Zakiriya is a swordsman. His equipment consists of anything that is a blade. On his hip is his sword. Belted to his lower back and hanging just behind his main sword is yet another sword of the same style, weight and length. Against his lower back on the other side is a long knife, hooked onto the belt around his waist horizontally. Each boot holds an knife as well. Along his wrists where there are two belts, are throwing knives sheathed via the belts, three on each wrist/forearm area. There are three more throwing knives hooked into the belt around each of his shoulders (upper arms) as well.
Zakiriya has no recollection of his past. He recalls having woken up in a tavern in the very city he serves as a knight for several years ago. He's unsure of how old he was at the time, but many say that he was around the age of thirteen or fourteen. They say that he just appeared there with no warning and no one else with him. There was no family that anyone knew of and his appearance was so different from the people around him, that they knew him to be from a different part of the land, or even a whole different country. Zakiriya knew that he didn't look the same as those around him, but he never really thought to go deeper into the situation.
He was taken in by an elderly couple of the city and raised as their child. He came to love them for everything they did for him. They taught him how to speak, read and write and most importantly, his 'father' taught him how to wield a blade. When he was eighteen (roughly), he trained for the city guard. His 'father' was once a guardsman, and so he had his career set for him. Zakiriya made the ranks of a guard soon enough. His training was vigorous, but he prevailed and even outdid his own trainers. He served as a city guardsman for a two years before he was promoted to be a palace guard.
Zakiriya took the job without question, and to the urging of his 'father'. He has been a palace guard ever since and does enjoy his job thoroughly. The young knight doesn't bother with the rumors of his King, much preferring to keep to himself and to do his job to its fullest at all times. Beyond that, he pays no attention. His new job starts though when he is summoned to the King's throne room and announced as the personal body guard to the man. Zakiriya is unsure of what it entails or exactly how much trouble things are going to be. However, he takes the job with his usual earnest to do things perfectly and completely.
Despite this, things will begin to unravel for him as he learns about his own past. There are definitely certain things that should stay buried, never to be re-awakened again.
