The King's Inn » Places

         Theren left before the crowd could leave the theater. The last thing she wanted was attention. Gathering her dress in one clenched fist, she slid into the waiting Bugatti, slamming the door after her. She leaned back into the leather seat, letting out a breath. "How did it go, my lady?" her driver asked evenly. He was a kind man in his late fifties by the name of William, and had been in her family's service for many, many long years.

"Fine," she said with a sigh, pulling white flowers from her hair. "They loved it, as always." William was referring to the concert she had just been at the center of. She sang on occasion, but tried to avoid the massive crowds and press that flocked to her outings. After all, she was the prodigal daughter of a dead millionaire, and single. Most of the time, she kept well away from the chaos of the outer world; there was too much that could go wrong. In order to fulfill her father's wishes, her reputation had to be immaculate, and she intended to keep it that way. She flashed William a smile. "To the King's Inn." The man smiled gently, and the white Bugatti sped away. Theren stared out the window as the city passed them by. "Feel free to push the speed limit, William."

"As you wish, my lady." Theren smirked. William addressed her like that, but in reality, he was more a father than hers had ever been. They respected one another immensely. An hour passed, and the sleek car rolled up before the Inn. The place was luxurious and well kept, as anyone would expect, and screamed money, not that her car choice didn't.

"Bring the car back, and I'll drive home, okay?" William grinned, pleased that his charge was already falling back into her old ways. She much preferred to drive than be driven. "As you wish." She shut the door, and picked up her skirts as she walked up the steps of the splendorous building, her ridiculously expensive heels tapping against the marble. It wasn't unusual that she dined alone here. She preferred it actually; it was peaceful, and the service spectacular. She always gave a healthy tip, and adored the wine selection. It was an easy place to escape when home only served as a reminder of her failures. She smiled softly with cherry-red lips as the scents of the restaurant touched her senses.
