Liam Harel's Story

Liam road on the back of a wagon filled with blankets. He was doodling on a paper, the bumpy road making his had jump now and then.

"Well, were here." said the man in the front. Liam put his sketch book away and got off the wagon. He took out of his pocket an old 19th century American silver dollar and threw up it up to him.

"Thank you."

"No, thank you!" Liam said. He adjusted his glasses, pack, violin case and continued down a gravel road. A small sign said "Elmira Colony right ahead" Liam took a piece of paper out of his pocket and compared the name on the paper to the name on the sign. "Well, this is the place" Liam said to himself. He took out a lighter, lite the paper on fire and threw it on the ground.

Liam walked through the colony, looking like any other traveler (many years on the road have given him that appearance), but he always kept himself clean shaven. He saw a sign blowing in the wind "tavern" from one of the larger wood buildings in the colony. Liam walked in. A women was at the counter and a man was attending the fire.

"What can I help you with dear?" she asked.
"I would like to stay a few days, how much?"
"Depends on what you got?"
"I have some silver coins, and some gold"
"Is that a violin?" she asked
"Yes it is"
"Do you play well"
"pretty good"
"I tell you what. Our piano player just left for the week and we have no one else. If you play in our bar at night, you can stay for free."
"Thank you very much. It's a deal" The women gave him the key to the combo lock for his door, he dropped his things in his room and went out to explore the rest of the colony.

Mary walked to her room and got ready she had to job search and it was not going to be that easy she dressed in a casual bit dressy outfit and curled her hair,as she walked into the living room she said "I have an interview I trust nothing out of sorts will happen be good and if you leave please put a not on the table so I don't have to worry.."she quickly walked to the foyer and put on her shoes and a jacket before leaving to her interview at the city hall she was walking and thithinking at the same time she had started to worry about her sister wondering what would happen if James broke her heart she rounded the corner and *smack!*ran into a man with dark hair and glasses she looked at him and said nicely "Oh! I'm sorry I should have been watching where I was going please forgive my clumsiness.."with fake remorse in her voice.

Liam walked through the town looking at the buildings. They ranged from cabins to old houses from before the vampire wars. An electric car buzzed by, probably belonged to the mayor or local Governor, every one else were using Horses or mules to pull carts. Then suddenly someone bumped into him. He stumbled backwards a few steps , his glasses going askew.

"Oh! I'm sorry I should have been watching where I was going please forgive my clumsiness.." said a female's voice.

"Oh that's quite alright" He said, correcting his glasses. The young women in front of him was wearing a nice outfit, but his attention quickly turned to her eyes. "Wow, emerald irises, that is a rare, and beautiful eye color. Does your family hail from northern Europe?"

"Oh that's quite alright" He said and looked at her eyes before saying"Wow, emerald irises, that is a rare, and beautiful eye color. Does your family hail from northern Europe?
"Why yes they are originally from Ireland and thank you...I'm Mary nice to meet you."she said and stuck her hand out to shake his in the traditional human greeting 'He seems to be smart, but I feel he is hiding something.'she thought quickly but smiled non the less.

"My names Liam Harel, I am from, which was, West Virgina, United States." He said stretching out his hand and give two shakes. " I'm just a traveler, well you can say a traveling minstrel. I just got hired at the tavern for the next week to play at the bar. Would you or do you know someone that can give me a quick tour of the town here?"

(OOC: I will be gone all day at DL)

Mary smiled and replied "I've heard that was a beautiful place before the war..and actually I don't know much about the town or many of its inhabitants I moved here only five days ago..sorry I can't be of assistance but I have an interview for a job so I must take my leave good day Mr. Harel.."before walking off quickly so as not to be late 'I still find him suspicious hmmm I shall keep an eye on him..'she thought as she fast walked away.

" Well good day madame, and good luck on your interview." Liam smiled, nodded and continued walking. The towns people did a good job of keeping the main road clear of snow. Liam walked down all the major streets mapping it out in his mind. Soon, he came back to the tavern. 'Hmm, I need to practice my violin for tonight, I can go to city hall tomorrow.' Liam went to his room, grabbed his violin and headed out to the wood. There, he took out his violin, looking around to make sure that nobody was looking (he thought his dancing was horrible) he struck up a old 19th century jig, and started to dance in and out of the trees.

After playing for a while, Liam started to walk back to the colony, when he noticed a teenage boy and girl walking through the woods, each with a pack on. He discreetly followed them for a while, until they stopped and started to put their tent. Liam made a mental note of their location and went back to the colony.***That night he played at the tavern to pay for his room. He didn't finish till past midnight.

When back in his room. From his pack he took out what looked like a full body wet suite. He took out a bottle of scent disguise, put some of it on his body and put on the suite. He opened a small flap on the right arm and pressed the button that said snow. The suit turned white. From his pack he took out what looked like a small telescope and a small fanny pack, claimed out the window and headed back towards the forest. There he found their encampment, he looked around for a while then came to a ridge 3/4 of a mile away. There, he went prone, unfolded the tripod under the telescope-like device. and watched them.

Liam dozed in and out of sleep, watching them, but the soon, he watch them talking and the boy willingly had his neck out and the girl bit it. Liam just smiled.

"Knew it" he whispered to himself.

Maria stood and put her boots on before walking out of the tent and smiled she felt energized and all better "Yep I'm all healed..should we pack up now?"she asked as she saw Mary peek her head out of the tent.

Mary stepped out of the tent and and said "Yes..but how are you better so quickly our diet doesn't permit us to heal like that unless....you didn't..oh sister.."she looked at them sadly knowing that this could cause problems it would make it harder for Maria to control her emotions.

"yes I allowed it, from the start and it was getting hard for her and we wouldn't want her to suddenly jump me in the middle of publice cause then we need to move again and that is something we don't want that and....it felt good" he said with a faint smile"

Mary said sadly"I guess you are right about the risk..and it probably did its like a drug that is pumped into your body to keep you calm and happy..let's start packing we need to go we've been here for way to long.."she turned and started packing up trying to control her anger she wanted to smack them both but knew it wouldn't help and would cause problems she looked up and on a ledge far away she saw what looked like a telescope she turned quickly and said"As I thought someone is watching us we have to go..now!"she ran to her tent and started packing.

Maria frowned when Mary spoke she was about to walk back to the tent and start packing when Mary yelled "As I thought someone is watching us we have to go..now!" Maria jumped she let go of James's hand and ran to the tent packing quickly.

James jumped as well and help Maria 'crap that person might have seen she bite me' he thought and got his backpack and the tent packed carry them and took the lead and headed the same direction they were walking in yesterday "that person might be a problem, we have to set up an ambush" James suggested

Maria thought "I don't know ambushing might be bad..we could set a trap to slow him but we could easily out run him he is pretty far away.."she sighed her life had turned upside down in the last few days it was becoming a little annoying that things kept popping up like this.

Mary said quickly "Maria is right we could probably outrun him...without knowing who he is though if we hurt him we could be in trouble.."she grabbed James and Maria and ducked behind some trees to say "we all should run in different directions to throw them off and then climb a tree and meet at a certain spot.."

Liam continued to watch. Then, he noticed the older of the three gave a surprise look right in his direction and go into the tent.

"Well, I guess they spotted me" Liam sighed. He quickly put the cover over his telescope-like device and started to crawl back until he was he was completely covered obscured by trees (not to mention the mile distance) Liam got up and started to get to run back towards the colony.

Liam continued to run until he reached the edge of the Elmira Colony. There, he stop for a few moments to catch his breath, then continued back to the inn. There, he climbed back into the window in too his room. He got back into his normal cloths, put on his pack and grabbed his violin. He placed 4 silver coins on the bed and climbed back out the window.

Liam went back to the camp sight. Of coarse they were gone. He saw three sets of prints in the snow going in a similar direction, but still different directions. He picked one at random and started to follow it. After following for a while, he saw a jumble of prints then suddenly disappear.

"Hmmm, where have the gone" Liam said to himself. He looked around the snow, but saw no other prints. He then bent down to look at the prints. "They are still fresh, no more then a hour or two." He then climbed a tree to his left, hoping to see them. When he got to the top, he saw nothing but smoke coming from a near by colony. on his way down the look over a tree next to him, something caught his eye. He went over to the next branch. Undisturbed snow covered it, except in two spots, where it looked like someone brushed the brushed the snow over a small hole. Liam smiled, he looked over at the next branch. "Sneaky, but not that sneaky." Liam said to himself. He followed the disturbed snow on the branches for a while until he noticed it was heading towards the next colony. Liam climbed down from the tree and continued on to the colony.

Liam entered an inn and walked to the man behind the counter.

"How can I help you?" he asked
"I would like a room"
"What do you got?" he asked. Liam reached into his pack and pulled out a small piece of gold and handed it over. "What, you trying to buy all my rooms?"
"No, but I would like to you state that I have been here for the past 3 days." The man narrowed his eyes at Liam.
"Why?" he asked. Liam pulled out his old government badge, and the man's eyes widened.
"I believe there are vampires in this village" he whispered.
"Just let me know if there is anything I can do to help" He handed a key over to Liam. Liam took it and went to his room.

Maria laughed and said "Never as long as my knight is near I'm never scared.."she kissed him and roll over to lay on the bed she layed her head on his arm and smiled her body becoming remotely hyper again.

Mary was walking down the hall when she saw that man from Elmira she quickly ducked behind the wall hoping he didn't see her she looked around the cornercorner and looked right at him for only a moment and then she took off out a nearby window and headed towards the market.

James smiled and kiss her neck then lay his he still there "okay one more myth for you to bust, is it true vampires made werewolves?" he asked and stroke from her chest gently to her belly

Maria replied "Well I don't know I have never seen one or really talked to my family much about them so I'm really not sure..."she put her hand on his leg and stared into his eyes lovingly.

Mary had made it to the market and looked around she saw a bit away there was a body she walked over to it and moved it to the garbage can throwing it inside to hide the evidence"Why can't I have a normal day?" she says to herself before walking into the bar getting a few drunken stares she ignores them and says to the bar tender "One glass of your best whiskey..." He looks at her and says "That'll be ten copper pieces.."she pulls out a silver piece and says "This will buy me another later than..."he brings her the drink and she takes a gulp noticing how he watched her waiting for her to be disgusted but she wasn't she had built up quite a tolerance to whiskey and it calmed her nerves but she thought about that man the one she had seen in Elmira 'Why is he here...maybe he knows..maybe he's the one who saw us..'

"wait, so your saying they are real as well?" he asked and watch her lovingly back and cuddle against her

Liam put his stuff in his room and left then inn. He walked around the colony, mapping it out. By the age of the buildings, he could tell it was an older colony. As he walked, he saw a women he thought he recognize. When he looked closer, she was gone. Liam just shrugged and continued back to the inn.
