Amelia Sharnock

An Irish girl running from law and crime.

0 · 758 views · located in Wing City Main Entrance

a character in “The Multiverse”, as played by Alasund

Description

Ragged, hunted looking. Her clothes are hand-me-downs and her other equipment old, her hair hasn't been washed for several days now and her eyes flicker uncertainly.

Personality

Formerly somewhat sombre and polite, now she has a ragged edge about her, she no longer seems able to trust, and receiving something for free is considered almost a trap. Her happiness of the former life has fled, and now she is an outcast and on the run, unable to fully escape.

Equipment

One pistol, almost out of ammo. A couple of empty ammo clips and a knife. A few portions of random food she's saving up and a diary filled with her good memories, permenantly locked.

History

Amelia, born on the streets and taken into an orphanage at a young age. She grew up to the strictures of the nuns there, eventually being adopted into a kindly family of the upper middle class. Things went from good to better, even when she became a part of the local 'enforcers'. A mafia like group in which her adopted father was a very influential member. To put it simply, she was happy with her lot, and satisfied that she was living up to her father's expectations, she even made a best friend in her 'group'. A ragged young boy who was rather happy go lucky.

This was good for her, and she seemed full of life. The bright groomed to be ambassador of the group due to her almost charismatic magnetism. But then her father was killed by a rival group, and war in the streets broke out, over 18 now she joined the front line, killing and destroying the homes of those involved in the death of her beloved father. Until, that is, one of the last remaining of the enemy hid themselves as a staff of the orphanage. Conflicted, Amelia could not decide, until she decided to let that one man go to save the orphanage from destruction. The only person she told was the ragged boy who was her friend, not romantically, but platonically.

He told the superiors, and they, angered that a daughter of their esteemed associate would try to stop their will, went ahead and did it. She arrived on the scene just in time to witness the last nun being knifed to death by the hitmen of the group. She shot two of them before they escaped, but the police found her on the scene and blamed her for the murders that happened. She was on the run from the law. The groups contacts in the police egged the chase onwards, and let the other underground groups know that a traitor was headed their way. She is now trapped between the law and crime, and she cannot escape.

So begins...

She just bowed her head, leaving the clearing to silence for the moment. She was actually ashamed to admit that she hadn't even thought of police from away from home, then again, she never really had been in a frame of mind that was conducive to going to the police. She was going to ignore that question, she decided. "Revenge? Maybe. I dunnae know why he pursues me except that maybe he wants revenge for his hitmen that I killed." She shrugs, unknowing that Gerogin didn't actually care for the chase, and didn't even keep tabs on it anymore.

Amelia's face creased as she thought deeply, "Well, his identity wasnae known except to the high council of our group...." She shrugged. "I dunnae know if anyone else knows of his identity." All she remembered was the relayed orders, the almost cold way the orders were given by the council who obeyed that enigma known only as Gerogin. She was sure he was one of the people in the town, but she was certain that she didn't know.

Amelia had scrunched up again, and was calculating how long until she had to be on the move again, she couldn't stay in one place for too long.... "Amelia." She replies to Natalie, in truth she hadn't actually bothered to look at the name on the FBI Agents ID, since she'd always found it so much easier to kill if she didn't have a name to go with the memory of who she'd killed, and then she'd just become far too distracted...

She glanced at Natalie out of the corner of her eyes, where was this leading? She couldn't fathom the reasoning behind this latest barrage of questions, but then, she'd never had real kindness from someone she'd just met before. ".... almost four months...." She almost whispers, only just carrying to Natalie. The memories of the dark times where too much, she just wanted to be away from them for one day, one day would be good.

Amelia was going to be continually stunned by how Natalie could spout facts and exact calculations like that. And shook her head before packing up the small camping equipment into her rucksack. It was surprising how easily she carried that pack of stuff over her shoulder as she helped Natalie up, she didn't offer any words but the way she looked at hearing she might get a proper meal... it was words enough.

Amelia just walked next to her, supporting her as she rattled off the facts. "So the person was someone who originally came from America? Or did they just anger the FBI while in America?" She asks, referring to the 'person of interest'. It was how she thought, that everything had a base reason like such. She really wasn't one to understand fully what the FBI did that much, she really hadn't been educated in that kind of thing.

She nods as they slowly traverse the forest-scape, the brilliant life of the woods moving around them as usual, two such humans rarely caused a disturbance. The idle comments going backwards and forwards as they headed for the car. Finally, Amelia had found someone who did not want to catch her, perhaps, for all her running, she might get away after all.

The last small session of walking had grown silent as they both trudged on, Amelia driven by the thought of a proper meal. She didn't know what drove the injured woman who usually sounded so indifferent, she almost seemed like the science fiction robots that you occasionally saw on silly tv series, blank and almost emotionless, only occasionally did the emotion that confirmed that she was human poke through that exterior. She helped the FBI agent up onto an embankment just short of the car, a blue Toyota Camry. She kept silent, so long had she been on her own that silence was what she resorted to when she wasn't sure what to say.

Amelia moved fast for someone who'd been going without proper meals for four months, but she certainly ate like it. She thought it polite to listen to her benefactors words.. injured benefactor. She constantly reminded herself of that, she was pretty sure of Natalie's trustworthiness now, and that wound was a mark of shame for the younger girl. Non-the-less, she dug into the food as Natalie spoke, the sandwiches disappearing first before stopping to think about a reply. "I've never been outside England before this." She said, an odd glance at the forests around her before continuing. "I usually ate at the same time everyday, lunch was only served at one time in our house, and if you weren't there you didn't eat." Remembering her father and adoptive family was ... a saddening experience...

Amelia might've laughed, if she wasn't so busy eating the pasta as quick as was possible. To think that an FBI agent, these men and women of such 'prestige', would be talking while eating! Most people would expect a certain level of 'politeness' as it were from a foreign agent. For some reason the lack of it was cause of some humour for the Scottish lass. "So you learnt all this stuff after ye returned from Germany?"

"Tha' information ye keep spouting." She amended, rolling another lot of pasta onto her fork and then into her mouth, eating ravenously. It was quite surprising that she could eat at such a rate and talk. Her eyes tilted inquisitively as she chewed the latest roll quite carefully, observing the injured FBI agent, she practically ignored the Latin and Arabic books, as she didn't speak or read any other languages than English and Gaelic.

"Yeah, you said that. But wouldn't most German things be in German?" She asks, her fingers weaving the fork around yet another lump of pasta. She hadn't stopped eating yet. She was kind of getting used to the fact that FBI were somewhat supernatural in that Natalie had a somewhat superhuman mind. She hadn't ever met someone with what was termed a 'photographic' memory.

Amelia's eyes widened as Natalie began speaking German, which she couldn't understand a word of. She instead chose to dedicate her time to finishing the last of the pasta and checking around to see what else there was while Natalie talked on the Mobile phone. She hadn't had this much good food in a long while, and she was enjoying what she considered luxury.

The can of pear slices was opened in short order as Amelia dug into the food, although her devouring of it slowed noticeably as she listened, then completely came to a halt, and bowed her head in shame. She didn't know why Natalie was covering up the fact that she'd shot the FBI agent, and for someone who enforced the law, subverting it wasn't the expected action. She stared down at the can of fruit, her appetite no longer so ravenous as she listens forlornly to Natalie's not so convincing attempts to cover the situation up.

She slowly looked up at Natalie from beneath what was almost a curtain of hair at the moment. "Who was that? Did he believe you?" She asks, half curious, half contrite. The can of pear slices sat next to her, eaten out of but certainly not finished. This was the first time in a long time she'd been embarrassed too, it'd been a long time since she really did anything with anyone else that wasn't killing them.

She looks back down at the pears, wondering if she really should be eating the food of someone she'd injured and likely would get in trouble by her actions. Natalie's last comment banished the dark thoughts for a moment with a smile, the first time she had smiled actually. The mindreading comment was worded in such a way that it sounded like a joke to the girl. "So will you get in trouble for this?" She asks, somewhat tremblingly as she wondered what they would do to FBI agents that got in trouble.

"I've never met an ambassador before." She replies, picking up the can of pears again and beginning to eat again. "I've only met higher class people that wanted to talk to my father, or make business deals with the group...." She trails away, then delves into her food, trying to get away from the memories by indulging herself in the present so thoroughly that she wouldn't have the concentration to remember.

Amelia cocked her head to the side, the computer joke had her confused. She just shrugged before taking another mouthful. "Social interaction doesn't require jokes and a sense of humour. I've done it enough." She had too, when her father was alive. "Politeness is the only thing that is necessary." She adds, still wondering what in the world the virus joke was getting at.

Amelia looked out, her eyes glum as she finished the pears and put it down, finally feeling full. She stared towards the trees, her eyes almost wistful as she stands up again. "Somewhere else. I don't know where yet, but I'll try and stay in this forest as long as possible. I can lose Gerogin's men more easily in wooded areas." She replies, by way of explanation.

Amelia looked out, her eyes glum as she finished the pears and put it down, finally feeling full. She stared towards the trees, her quite surprised look turned on Natalie as she stood up. "We?" She asks, not sure of herself. "You mean ... I'm going with you for now?" The thought of this happening wasn't something that had ever crossed her mind. Why would she want to help someone who was ragtag, committed a crime and had shot her? She just didn't understand...
