Amelia Sharnock

An Irish girl running from law and crime.

0 · 761 views · located in Wing City Main Entrance

a character in “The Multiverse”, as played by Alasund

Description

Ragged, hunted looking. Her clothes are hand-me-downs and her other equipment old, her hair hasn't been washed for several days now and her eyes flicker uncertainly.

Personality

Formerly somewhat sombre and polite, now she has a ragged edge about her, she no longer seems able to trust, and receiving something for free is considered almost a trap. Her happiness of the former life has fled, and now she is an outcast and on the run, unable to fully escape.

Equipment

One pistol, almost out of ammo. A couple of empty ammo clips and a knife. A few portions of random food she's saving up and a diary filled with her good memories, permenantly locked.

History

Amelia, born on the streets and taken into an orphanage at a young age. She grew up to the strictures of the nuns there, eventually being adopted into a kindly family of the upper middle class. Things went from good to better, even when she became a part of the local 'enforcers'. A mafia like group in which her adopted father was a very influential member. To put it simply, she was happy with her lot, and satisfied that she was living up to her father's expectations, she even made a best friend in her 'group'. A ragged young boy who was rather happy go lucky.

This was good for her, and she seemed full of life. The bright groomed to be ambassador of the group due to her almost charismatic magnetism. But then her father was killed by a rival group, and war in the streets broke out, over 18 now she joined the front line, killing and destroying the homes of those involved in the death of her beloved father. Until, that is, one of the last remaining of the enemy hid themselves as a staff of the orphanage. Conflicted, Amelia could not decide, until she decided to let that one man go to save the orphanage from destruction. The only person she told was the ragged boy who was her friend, not romantically, but platonically.

He told the superiors, and they, angered that a daughter of their esteemed associate would try to stop their will, went ahead and did it. She arrived on the scene just in time to witness the last nun being knifed to death by the hitmen of the group. She shot two of them before they escaped, but the police found her on the scene and blamed her for the murders that happened. She was on the run from the law. The groups contacts in the police egged the chase onwards, and let the other underground groups know that a traitor was headed their way. She is now trapped between the law and crime, and she cannot escape.

So begins...

She nodded in response. "Even worse when people expect you ta be one o' the popular ones." She replies, almost bitter, remembering that she was constantly crowded into it because her father was one of the richest men in the village. She was supposed to be one of the popular ones, but she'd tried to rebel against that at every chance possible.

Amelia frowned too, the distaste in her next statement quite evident, unlike Natalie's voice. "Yeah, but thae didnae want to be around for me, but for who I was related to." She replies. The fact that she'd had not a single friend in school was just another testemant to this fact. She'd only ever had one friend, and that one had betrayed her. She'd never truly had a proper friend. Not one that she knew she could trust... Although, she'd thought she could trust him.....

Amelia paused before making a comment, then speaking slowly and carefully. "Ye have an aura." She replies, as if that explained it quite thoroughly. "Ye dunnae need to brandish your gun." She adds, remembering how frantically she'd looked for the weapon that Natalie didn't have. She'd been more afraid of the Agent then she had been to any of her other persuers.

"Nae." She quickly replies, "Not frightning. Intimidating." She adds, trying to get her point across. The uninclination from Natalie's part no doubt was another factor in that. She giggles slightly at Sofia's description. Modern terminology escaped Natalie, it seemed. "She's using the modern definition." Amelia decides not to actually get into that, Sofia was less then complimentry, it seemed.

"Whoa!" The swerve was completely unexpected, and Amelia spent the first few seconds being shaken up, then getting herself back together before working out what'd happened. She looked curiously over at the agent, "What's wrong?" She asks, cocking her head to the side slightly as she tried to work out why the FBI agent that had been so calm, even after being shot, suddenly had started... Crying was what Amelia thought, and was correct, although the normal evidence of sadness weren't really there.

Amelia was unsure what to make of this latest outburst, Natalie could be very confusing. "What's the problem about them?" She asks, trying to work out where that sudden change had come from... Maybe she'd said something wrong? And upset her? The other problem with the lack of emotion, it was hard to work out what she was actually feeling.

Amelia just stared for a few seconds, working out the gist of the meaning of what Natalie had just said. It was a confusing thing, when you didn't know some of the words. "So, they label people, but do not try to aid in fixing with what they've labelled them with?" She asks, still unsure if the meaning that she thought she'd understood was correct.

Well, that was much clearer, no juxtaposing or such. Amelia frowned as she nodded. She wasn't quite sure what to reply to that though, the vemanence was conveyed, even without the cutting tone most people would have. Eventually she settled on a response, a very well thought out one. "The urge to make everyone 'proper' and normal citizens is something that quite a few people have, not just psychiatrists." She replies, remembering her etiquette teacher. "Most people don't understand non-normal people because they act differently than what most people expect, thereby throwing them off."

Amelia shrugs again, she doesn't really care too much what others had thought of her, not since Highschool where everyone tried to convince her to act like a popular girl. Heck, they acted like she was a popular girl, even after she refused to. People treated others how they decided to, not how they actually should be treated.

Amelia shook her head, still wondering at how she could compute the exact number of minutes it would take to arrive. She just sat there for a few moments, watching the trees slowly fade. "I used to have a pool at home...." She trails off, once again being reminded of the pain of her loss. "It'll probably be dead by now."

She was slightly skittish still, not used to viewing so many people without being suspicious that there was someone there, watching her, waiting for a chance to kill or capture her. So she stayed up in the room. She had the gun again, and she waited for Natalie to return from the hospital. She wasn't going anywhere without her gun, unless she had some other form of protection, she was, still, too paranoid for that.

Amelia nods, her gaze quickly looking to see how the shoulder wound was now, if it was even seeable. She'd changed into shoulder-lengthed sleeved Shirt, and looser black pants, and she had her gun seeable as it poked a little out of the pocket in the pants. Her hands often hovered close to it, showing her unsurity of her surroundings. "How's the injury?" She asks, nodding at the shoulder. She took the direct approach, as she'd been waiting for a couple of hours now.

"So, that's a bug detector?" She asks, she knew what kind of bugs it checked for, secret listening devices and the like... It would be difficult to be what Natalie was, as it was a lot more ... high profile. And besides that, There were quite a few varieties of people that wanted her dead. "Pills are aweful." She agreed, nodding. "But they are beneficial."

She shrugs on the pill question, she wasn't really bothered with it anyways. But she takes the device with interest, looking it over and studying it as well as listening attentively to Natalie, such information intruiged her, and besides that, it was something she'd never encountered something like this before. "So, you get a lot of devices of this quality for your work?" She asks, after hearing quite a bit on the precise parts of the technology.

Amelia frowned slightly, "But... The FBI has just as much need for the technology as the CIA does, doesn't it?" She asks, slightly confused by that fact. She does take the button from Natalie, and looks it over as Natalie once again expounded on it's use. She'd only heard about the highest eschalon of technology, and was intruiged by actually holding and hearing all about it.

Amelia frowns at that, the set-up was rather biased, she reckoned. For, it wasn't the technology, but how you used it, that made it able to fit within restrictions and the like? "But that doesn't mean the FBI couldn't use this technology within it's restrictions." She says, voicing aloud where her thought pattern had been going. This almost reminded her of how nobles played, and how tiers of people living in her own town had been treated. The richer, more important ones could get away with things the poorer or less important ones couldn't.

Amelia hands them back, still interested. "Satelittes can be used to locate convicted criminals, can't they?" She asks, "And the other technology to chase down escapees?" She adds, remembering her own flight. If her trackers had've had the equipment they were talking about, then she never would've made it this far, to be picked up by Natalie.

Amelia stood, "If you've got a hunting dog, you're going to use it, so if you had the technology, I don't see why it shouldn't be used." She replies, before shrugging easily. "Although, if the judges and law insist on it, I suppose there's nothing much law enforcement groups can do." She replies. Keeping to privacy laws wasn't something she was used to doing. Considering she originally worked with a criminal group.

Amelia walked over, to look over her shoulder, and see what she could see. "Well... I've never tried any of them." She admitted, somewhat shamedly. "Although I think I might've had something Italian." She didn't know what most of them would taste like, and hadn't touched much other than something close to Italian. English food was what she'd grown up on.

Amelia considered a second before curiousity overtook her. "Sounds fine to me." She replies, her interest quite plain to see in her eyes as she stands up. "How many times have you had Italian before?" She asked curious, very sure that the amazing memory of her benefactor could recall the exact number.
