Blain's Story

Blain watched from a tall branch at the scene that unfolded between Esper and Sunny, giggling to herself. Sniffing the air, she caught a wif of something sweet. Gardevoir, she thought. She jumped down from the branch gracefully and looked around, catching a hint of Blue and White flashing through the trees.

Sunny was just minding his own business when some sort of... Wild monster tackled him! The impact caused the pokemon to cry out and tumble backwards head over heels, losing sight of the sunglasses which slid off to the base of a tree. With a shake of his head, he rose up, looking around to see who was responsible and only finding an Espeon and Zangoose. Well it must have been them then!

"Stay way!" he shouted defiantly, wings out to the side and looking ready to defend himself.

Esper stood on her feet and shook herself off. The yellow markings on her jet black fur lighting up as she looked towards Sunny "You had better have a good reason for slamming into me Pip-squeak!" She barked stepping forward, her ears flicking in frustration.
She growled as she saw the bird's wings to the side "You wanna take me on? You do know who my trainer is right?" she said with a scoff. "I've taken on Empoleons ten times your size, do you really think you stand a chance against me?" she said crouching down slightly as the symbols began to flash.

Drymn folded his claws over his chest, he knew what Esper was like when she got in the mood for a battle, he had been her double battle partner long enough to know. He looked over towards Sunny and narrowed his eyes. "Let's see what he's made of" The Zangoose mumbled to himself

Blain stepped up to the shiny pokemon from behind grabbing her arm and gently guiding it down. "I wouldn't get in the middle of that, dear." She suggested. "Besides, it's funny watching Piplup's get their feathers ruffled. C'mon, lets watch." She pulled Luna by her arm and led her to the group, smiling reassuringly.

Blain let go of the Gardevoir's hand, and jumped over to the battle. She stood next to Drymn and nodded towards the other two "How bad do you think the Piplup is going to lose?" She chuckled, half contemplation helping him. The poor thing was picking a fight he wouldn't likely win.

Esper saw the bubble's and gasped, the fact he had enough time to counter attack and the bubbles were coming straight at her with decent speed. She would have to dodg- pat, pat, pat. The bubbles popped off of Esper's face and dampened her fur. There was some power behind the bubbles, but Esper was a seasoned battler who had fought a variety of different pokemon during The time her trainer was a member of the Elite 4. She looked shocked for a moment then shook her head and jumped back as he charged in "Don't mess with me kid!" she barked and crouched for a moment then dashed to the side and began to streak in a circle around the now battlefield. She would pick up speed with every lap she completed. Her Agility made her all but a blur to the inexperienced eye. Every lap would also get progressively tighter to Sunny's position
, the yellow markings on her fur glowing bright causing a trail that made a golden circle around Sunny.

Drymn narrowed his eyes as he watched his comrade, She was really willing to got this far? Maybe she was itching for an excuse to fight, after all it had been sometime since her last battle. "It's not a question of how bad he's going to lose, but more a question if we can get there in time before she kills him" He said to Blain

Blain shook her head. "I can't let this happen." She stepped in front of Esper, pushing her down and stopping her circling. "Both of you calm down. There is no good reason for you too be fighting, or for anyone to die." She turned to the young Piplup and nodded. "Are you ok?" She asked in concern.

Luna's eyes grew wide with fear upon hearing that dreaded word: Kill. Of course like all Gardevior, she wouldn't just sit around and let an innocent human being just die. She was also reminded of how she first met her trainer; Nicole. If it wasn't for Luna's quick thinking and instincts, Nicole wouldn't be here right now. She brought herself back and decided to listen in on the conversation, letting her necklace go limp and rattle. Someone's life is more important than being found out.

Sunny was still in full combat mode, for a moment lost at what to do with the darting foe surrounding him, but Adam had taught him better than that. He bent his head forwards, aiming between his own legs and unleashed a torrent of water, having it spray and gush around him until it formed a full-fledged whirlpool of swirling and churning liquid, with him right at the center! Over the sound of the gurgling waters he couldn't hear Blain's question.

Esper gasped as she saw Blain touch down right in her path. What was that idiot thinking! What was she thinking? She was able to avoid the Lucario jumping straight into the air, her speed sending her abnormally high. After a series of acrobatic flips she landed on the ground and looked towards the whirlpool that was around Sunny. She took a step and looked as though she was going to pounce again before Blain's words rang through her mind 'No good reason for anyone to die'. Was she about to kill that Piplup? Why? Esper looked shocked for a moment before looking away sadly. She had gotten lost in the battle, and it felt so good to finally stretch her legs and run.

Drymn sighed and walked over towards the group that had jumped in. He chuckled slightly at Sunny's whirlpool display. Potential, when he became an Empoleon, he would be strong. "Esper, did you truly mean to kill this Piplup?" he asked in a cold tone.

Esper looked like she was going to bark something at the Zangoose, but her ears soon laid back on her head "I-I don't know" she said in a shaky voice.

Blain stepped in front of the Piplup before he hit anyone else, taking all the force. She winsed at the pain, but took it. She attempted to hold Sunny down, while asking the same question over again. "Are you ok? Do you need any medical attention?" She asked in concern for the young pokemon. She looked back to Esper nodding reassuringly. "I know you didn't mean to attempt to murder him, but you could have and that was very irresponsible of you. You must learn to control your temper if you ever hope to excel further in your career as a captured pokemon. Rage never got anyone anywhere."

Now finding himself getting pinned down to the ground, Sunny was not at all happy. One moment battling like his trainer had always taught him, and now? His little legs and wings flailed as his head shook back and forth defiantly. And then, more bubbles, still weak but like lead bullets getting thrown about in a wide spray to try and break free. "Let me go let me go!" he shouted between attacks.
