A reclusive empathic immortal, lost in a tangle of the worst kinds of love.
Antisocial
Following her father, Judas's, death, Helena went in an unstoppable and immensely destructive spiral down a path of drugs, alcohol, adultery, and most notably, silence. This insatiable desire for quiescence alienated the then-adolescent from her friends, teachers, and mother, leaving her alone with the last, rather full collection of manuscripts, poetry, and novels written by her father. Post transformation, Helena has taken to silence as a sort of compensation for her lost mortality, clinging to the lack of speech as a sole connection to her long since lost humanity. Helena's reticent mannerisms tend to clash with the sharp tongue she's known for using all to quickly when aggravated, thusly leaving her without a word when a situation becomes stressful or almost fully dependent upon her.
Self-reliant
Helena, once reluctantly adjusting to the solemn, ever the changing life of a nomadic vampire, came to terms with the fact that she'd need to take care of herself. It wasn't difficult, as she had already had to fend for herself once her mother conveniently found solace from Judas's sudden end in any and every man who crossed her path. In essence, darling little 'Lena is quick to do what must be done in order to survive, taking lives included, despite the hastily developed habit of starving herself for much too long, if only to keep the revolting taste of blood from her lips and the delirium of daunting death at bay.
Fearful
As aloof and cruel the inexperienced vampire would appear, the paranoia developed in her early life are retained all too well, even after guaranteed immortality. Helena is easily intimidated to the point of mental and physical distress by water (hydrophobia), tight spaces or crowds (claustrophobia), and thunder or noises equally as loud (astraphobia). An acquired sort of "fear" of Helena's, if it could even be categorized as such, is death, what with the calamitous effects it has on her. She's been known to collapse for hours almost immediately if the stress on her body and mind caused by high mortality becomes excessive, or she is unable to flee the area.
Considerate
Despite being vigil in the desire for solitude and forcing others astray when getting what she dubs "much too close", Helena takes the thoughts and feelings of each and every creature to cross paths with her to heart. Helena tends to resist the more kindly temptations of hers when coming in contact with anyone, though finds it near impossible to evade a comforting air when she is veritably capable of comprehending and undertaking every living thing's emotion in her presence. However considerate she's willing to be, however, is relative to her vast altruism.
Cold
The thought of becoming close with much of anyone -- human, vampire or otherwise -- disturbs and intrigues Helena more than any written work or concept ever could. Companionship was never given the proper amount of thought between the highly dysfunctional, mortal childhood and the tortuously long hell of an afterlife she'd been ensnared within, explaining the sardonic solitary lifestyle Helena had so graciously adapted to after becoming a vampire. The repercussions of her seeming shameless and ever so cruel slander are painful to set aside, but the wicked satisfaction gained from keeping another lonesome soul from her own is enough to compensate. Absorbing the misery of both herself and others has turned into a disastrous addiction, among other confounding things, though her ghostly quiet nature has kept her from getting into too much trouble, or slinking further into the depression she'd already been forced to fend off.
Methodical
There's a specific, almost unnecessary way in which Helena executes any and everything, and she remains unwavering under most any circumstances. If a destination must be reached, she'll get there timely and mostly unscathed, though she finds plans of hers are thrown horrendously out of proportion with tedious, troublesome distractions. It's almost obsessive, the way she dotes upon her courses of action; editing certain aspects in accordance to the changes that occur about her, and discarding the expedients that had failed, in even the tiniest of ways, immediately.
Empathetic
With what little control over even her own emotions, it wouldn't take much to induce that Helena can't control the emotions of others for that matter either. While not being able to alter these tiresome feelings in the slightest, Helena has the involuntary gift of empathy, in that she is able to sense and take on the emotions of others without warning. She harnesses no control over the ability, no matter how much agony or inconvenience it brings, and has calamitous reactions to the complex and indiscernible sensation of death, with which she is known to dramatically recoil in the vicinity of. Helena's carefully guarded resolve is mutilated, mind slipping helplessly into bleakness, and her body straining itself into fetal position in a final, feeble attempt to dull the pain and confusion of death's mysterious affect. The severity of her nervous breakdowns vary directly with Helena's connection to the victim(s), and how many fatalities there are.
