Ah, one of the elusive patrons of the bar who live in it as well. Considering the girl’s state, that was probably a very good thing. Her help had been kindly enough refused and so Honesty smiled and nodded. “If you’re sure.” The suggestion that the stranger go and rest inside of lying on a grubby table did not pass her lips; that was a touch too rude to say to someone she had only just met.

“Take care then.”

Turning to regard the returned, ragged looking but happier gentleman, Honesty failed not to look amused as she gestured to the seat beside her. “Go ahead.” She looked mournfully out the window briefly, groaning. If that downpour intended to keep up its vigil, she was going to be here for a good while. “I’m not heading back out there until I can guarantee that my poor umbrella isn’t going to go skywards the moment I set foot outside of here.”

The inflections in his speech, as well as the words used only served to further confirm Honesty’s suspicions that the man hailed from her home country. “Chucking it down? Most people just say it’s raining cats and dogs you know.” The way she spoke was generally indistinct of accent except for a few inflections that betrayed the origins of the young woman whom Sam was speaking to. “But I suppose that’s how we say it up north. You’re from the south right? Maybe London-ish?”

The crude outburst prompted a look of surprise from the well-tempered young woman, though there was a ghost of a frown present. You are in a bar. What did you expect – creativity in cursing?

“I think getting soaked is distinctly preferable to getting clawed alive,” Honesty smiled, chuckling across at Sam, sipping at her smoothie. “Yeah, born and bred as a matter of fact, The accent is distinct but faint, or so I thought. I’m impressed you heard it, though if you’re from England, you’ve got a better chance at guessing right than most.”

Then she took a quick glance around the bar’s patrons before lifting her glass from the table and shrugging absently. “And to answer your look earlier, no idea. This is the first time I’ve been here since my first year at university.”

Honesty waved a hand in farewell to Nova, keeping her attention politely on Sam as she did so. “I’m only here by request, so it turns out that it’s lucky for the both of us. I’d be bored stupid without someone…” She paused meaningfully, gaze turning out toward the room at large. “Normal to talk to pass the time.”

Her smile as attention was drawn to the man’s rather unusual nose was anything but cruel. In fact, he reminded her just a little bit of Greg. He was obviously better at being sociable, but there was still something similar regardless. “That is unfortunate. Where were you headed? Home or to somewhere to stay for the night?”

Genuine curiosity spurred the questions from her lips. Honesty did not give off an impression of nosiness or suspicion. There was only the desire to understand the man’s situation and offer help if she could, like she had to Nova.

It was clear that this man, whomever he was, clearly dealt with derogatory comments about his appearance as a matter of course. Some people, Honesty lamented, were just flat out rude. “Nice to meet someone who doesn’t possess some sort of ability – or at the least the illusion of inhuman ability. Horatio Castle, I’m thinking of you.

And yet another reason to leave the bar as quickly as possible. What Honesty had overheard during her time sitting here conversing with this stranger would have to be enough for him; she would just end up coming back another time if it was not. All the young woman had wanted was her couch, a good supply of snacks, her Xbox360 and her socially awkward ‘friend’ to hang out with. Instead she had been forced to come here.

Maybe I’m not paid enough. That was utter bullshit of course, but Honesty was rather annoyed about the callous blackening of public property. “Drunk girls passed out on tables don’t surprise you, but people maiming furniture does?” she queried, rising to her feet. “I need to go home, you need to get somewhere and even though I’ve only just met you and don’t even know your name…”

Honesty tapped her satchel with a knowing smile, “I’ll take my chances to get the evening I wanted over what I’ve got so far. Let’s get a taxi to dodge the downpour.”

“Honesty Bennett. Only superpower I might possess is the ability to consume vast quantities of cake without gaining weight.” It was not entirely clear whether she was joking from the tone, but a grin emerging suggested that it just might be. “And you can’t have that bad luck if you’ve got a lovely partner.”

It was with significant purpose that Honesty pushed open the entrance to Gambit's and headed toward the bar without a glance at the bar's current patrons. She was pretty sure that she did not care who was drinking their sorrows away today; all that mattered was that she could drink hers into oblivion.

She tapped a familiar rhythm into the self-service screen, waiting impatiently as she heard what sounded like an attempt at a discussion not that far down the counter. Her frown deepened.

It took all of Honesty's self-control not to roll her eyes at the exchange she was overhearing, knowing that she would forget it all later. The alcohol would handle that nicely. Of all the things she did not need right now, remembering that was not one of them.

"You're just everywhere when you want to be," she mumbled, nearly downing the paid-for tall glass of straight whiskey.

Before she could help herself, Honesty's attention was upon the two having a rather serious discussion about who she could only assume was Mrs Kendra Maxey. It seemed... [/i]unlikely[/i] that he'd be cheating on her so flagrantly, but she never quite knew where Dillon Maxey was concerned.

"Another drink," she said quietly, raising a hand toward the screen, knowing full well that this was a terrible idea that could only end badly for her. Honesty prayed the worst she was going to have was a killer headache in the morning.

It took an impressively long time for Honesty to realise that the headache and dizziness that she had been expecting from taking in so much alcohol so fast was not coming. This was whiskey and it had not been that long since she had drunk it. She knew the effects it had on a lightweight - Greg's reaction had been... Greg.

Honesty looked up at the robots behind the bar. How could he possibly... how? She had not told anyone yet, but if the police had gone to her place and he was there... Now Honesty realised that it would not be difficult at all to find her. Couple that with the fact that their mutual boss had no love of boundaries and suddenly the young woman had a suspicion that she knew what was going on.

And if she remembered rightly, she had a good bottle back at home. Time to go.
