The waiter ducked away into the kitchens, missing Ramuki's comment about the law.
"I've lost my appetite. We should simply go," Atani said as she began to scootch out of the booth. She wanted to leave before that waiter came back! As she tried to maneuver out of the booth with her big belly, she also attempted to rummage in her small bag for some money. It was a bit of a spectacle but she managed it. With a huff she dropped three bills on the table. He could keep the change.

Kurokawa Kichi Sato posted up in the back corner of the food truck and waited for business. His mind wandered to the other day when he was given a fright at work. He hadn't seen the fox since. Did he have cause to continue walking on eggshells?
The main issue wasn't even the fox, Kurokawa thought to himself, it was who he was with. Maybe the fox had no clue but Atani Berentes was a name every housewife knew. The story of the Champion of the Hunt and his prize-bride falling in love at first sight. What wasn't there to love about that? He scoffed. She was one of the elite around here. From what he knew, and from what he saw, she wasn't the brightest bulb in the box. Still, anyone could put two and two together.
He guessed it depended on whether the fox could keep it's trap shut, and whether Atani had the care to do something about it if he didn't.
