Mildred Andrews was born in 1960, and was in the same year as her cousin James Potter. Her father was a muggle named Richard, and her mother was the sister of James. While Mildred was a brilliant young witch, she also had her failing: Potions. If there was any way a potion could go wrong, Mildred was known to make it happen.

One day, Mildred was in an altercation with a couple others in the hallway, and so was Severus Snape. Mildred had had her run ins with him. She'd bumped into him a couple times, and he'd snap at her for not paying attention to where she was going. Well, during this altercation, Mildred's best friend, Lily, was called a mudblood and Mildred stood up alongside her. A teacher came by and caught the students, assigning them to detention. Mildred was to meet Filch by the trophy room. When she got there, she saw Severus Snape there as well. The two of them were told to hand over their wands and clean the trophy room by hand.

Severus had not really had to do much in the way of muggle cleaning. He had been born into a pureblood family and house elves did all the work. Mildred noticed too, as he was cleaning much slower than she. They got into a minor argument, but Mildred got him to pay attention to how she cleaned. He picked up on it, and they went faster to get the trophy room done. Severus ended up offering to tutor her in potions, which Mildred immediately accepted.

They started spending tutoring time together, and feelings developed between them. Throughout the last couple months of their 6th year, and all their 7th year, they were together. After they graduated, Severus proposed to Mildred and she accepted. But just a month later, there was an attack on Diagon Alley while the two of them were shopping there, and each of them thought the other was killed in the attack. Severus joined the death eaters to try and find out who killed her, while Mildred retreated to Hogwarts to apprentice as a healer. She found out then, that she was pregnant.

Time passed. Mildred had given birth to a little girl she named Megan, and had raised her little girl to know her father was a good man. One day in Hogsmeade, when Megan was about two years old, there was another death eater attack. Mildred was badly injured, and Megan was taken from her. She was taken to Severus to be disposed of. But Severus couldn't kill a child. He made it look like he was getting rid of her, and left with her. He went to Hogwarts to find out if the child's mother was alive, and Albus directed him to the infirmary.

Mildred was unconscious, and badly beat up. But since Mildred wasn't the worst case of the attack, Poppy had to leave her like that for now. She had other patients to tend to with more severe injuries. Severus was shocked to see Mildred, and helped get potions together to help heal her enough to wake her. Mildred woke up, and was just as shocked as Severus. The two of them talked, and Severus stepped up to be Megan's dad. He also started spying for Albus, and came to teach at the school.

That fall was the fall of 1981, and it was around the time the Potters were killed. Mildred went out to try and stop Sirius from killing Pettigrew, as James wouldn't want him throwing his life away over a rat bastard. But Mildred was too late. She went to try and appeal for his case at the ministry, but was cut off by some death eaters. As their last act before going into hiding, they kidnapped her, transfigured her into a centaur, broke her wand, and left her in the black forest.
