*I did not create this image, nor do I know who did.
Name: Rynhart
Race/Species: Khrevahkian Shapeshifter
Place of Birth: Aelora
Place of Residence: Windcrest Temple, Terra
Occupation(s): Patronus Warrior, Swordsman Trainer

Rynhart's physical appearance can vary greatly, given his shapeshifter nature. However his preferred form is that of an elven man. For all intents and purposes, he can quite thoroughly pass as an elf – albeit a rugged one - and is typically characterized with angular features, pointed ears, and blonde hair.

Rynhart is a master swordsman and favors two-handed weapons. Rynhart is also an experienced and well versed practitioner of magic; though, he lacks the diversity of his sister Rhea and favors the fields of bardic magic, chaos magic and curses. Rynhart is a veteran at seeing through illusions due to his longstanding experience with Rhea, a master illusionist.

Rynhart's species provides him with an innate resistance to magic based effects.

Rynhart's momentary appearance went unnoticed by Rhea as she went about her work with urgency.

"I need some warm water, and bandages," she told Adriaan who moved off without question. "And gorroot. It'll help bring the fever down."

"Uh... what is a gorroot?" he called over his shoulder as he riffled through cupboards haphazardly.

"Second cupboard on the left," she called back. "Boil about an ounce of it into a cup of water."

"Loyahl," Rhea spoke up again, glancing towards him. "If you can help get over here, if not, give us some room."

Rynhart was seated at the temple entrance once more, his back propped up against a stone pillar as he played a few lingering notes upon his flute. It was a bitter cold night in the mountains, too cold to be outdoors and he had the small fire stoked at the entrance once more. Even with the pillars to break the wind and fire to offer warmth, it did little to ease the icy bite of the evening air.

With the cold to numb his fingers, Rynhart gave up on the flute and returned it to his coat. Pulling the thick fabric closed to ward against the cold he let his mind wander while listening to the rhythmic crackling and popping of the burning firewood.

Rynhart raised his eyes to look upon Loyahl as the man blocked off his view of the campfire. What he saw raised questions of his own. The whip of Loyahl's cloak in the bitter wind, the illumination of the fire at his back that left his steely eyes all the darker. There was a fierceness to Loyahl that Rynhart had overlooked in their brief conversations, a resolve that he had not thought the wayward hunter capable of.

When Loyahl had arrived upon these steps, he had seemed lost and without direction, but the man who stood there now did so without his past hesitation or meak doubts into what he wanted. Perhaps it was that resolve within Loyahl's eyes that garnered the answer he received.

"What do you wish to know," Rynhart replied, gesturing for Loyahl to sit.

"Its name is Maria," Rynhart explained. "She is one of the last of the Ulfhednar, from the east."

"The Ulfhednar are defenders of the western lands of G'ael," Rynhart explained. He mulled, trying to determine how best to explain their nature. "Werewolves would be the closest terminology you might be familiar with, but the Ulfhednar are more than just a species."

"If the fever doesn't kill her," Rynhart replied truthfully, knowing well where Loyahl's thoughts were headed. Rynhart's own had been there all evening. He glanced overhead, to the nearly full moon that illuminated the sky. Should the girl have contracted the affliction, she had three nights yet before her first turning.

Rynhart nodded his head towards the entrance. "Come inside, I'll show you the place."

Turning away he led Spyri down the dark cavernous tunnel until they reached the altar room. The design of the temple held a more artistic flair within the confines of the mountain, and the walls were lined with black marble columns and intricately carved scrollwork. Standing sentinel between the columns were tall statues of gods and goddsesses long forgotten. Flickering cressets provided a wash of light by which to navigate the temple halls.

"There are dormitories down the west hall," Rynhart explained. "We're in the process of raising a new temple upon the mountain top, but for now the living arrangements may be cramped."

Rynhart led the way into the temple library, pausing in the doorway to wave Scarlet through. "You're welcome to stay on as long as you wish. Rhea isn't expected back for several days yet though," he explained. "We wanted to discuss some things with you, but we intended to come see you at Celestia under better circumstances than this."

"Much of what you brought up already," he explained, following Scarlet into the library.

The temple library wasn't as vast as Sylvire's collection was, and much of its contents had been damaged by the fire half a year ago, but it still boasted an impressive array of old tomes and knowledge.

"Rhea's bringing new arrivals in weekly, people who need guidance in learning to wield the abilities they have, and the relics they carry. The temple as it is right now can't sustain these numbers. We want to raise a new temple above this one. We need to be able to accommodate larger numbers. Warriors to protect our walls, teachers to supervise the new arrivals, healers," he glanced to Scarlet at the last one. "We're alone out here, and with our numbers growing we need better resources, and a more organized structure."

Rynhart shook his head. "Rhea seems certain something is on the horizon," he explained. "Even the gods are uneasy. We had a revenant arrive bearing the mark of Taima herself." He shook his head. "There is wisdom in preparing warriors for coming storms, rather than wait until we're blind-sided."

"We have the monetary resources for what Rhea seeks to accomplish here," he added. "But we lack the social resources of the academies."

Rynhart was seated upon the steps of the temple playing a lively little tune upon his flute. Overhead atop the mountainside the new temple was still in the process of being raised, but already the massive dome was beginning to take form. Progress was slow given the elements and the difficult terrain, but the skeletal structure of the new buildings were taking form.

Where the temple had been a place of quiet reflection in the months past, it was now teaming with life. Arrow had sent for Knights of Le'thorian which were currently occupying the crudely constructed barracks, and Scarlet had supplied the mage power necessary to undertake such a formidable project.

It would be months yet before the temple saw completion, but the small out buildings would be habitable within days. And with how many wayward souls Rhea kept returning with, it wouldn't come a day too soon. Soon the small underground temple he sat before would be but a relic of the past, maintained for its historical value.

Rynhart lowered his flute as the sound of footsteps reached him. He wasn't sure about this one, or Rhea's wisdom in bringing her here, but he would humor his sister on the matter provided Ai did not prove herself a threat to the others.

"Hello," he offered. It was the only word he offered as he tucked his flute back into the folds of his coat.

Picking up his sheathed sword from the steps he rose to his feet and made his way down the steps towards the icy snow covered paths. It wasn't until he reached the bottom that he spoke again.

"Come, you've been in there for a long time. The air will do you good."

He would get to know her, for Rhea's sake.

"Given the condition you were brought in, I suspect you're not one to enjoy the confines of stone walls for very long," Rynhart replied.

He let the silence linger from there as he picked his way along the snowy route. The path was winding and treacherous with ice, but he kept his pace slow and leisurely. He seemed comfortable enough walking in silence, choosing to wait for the woman to decide when she was ready to speak.

"You were brought here because of what you house within you," Rynhart explained.

He glanced to Ai so he could weigh her response.

"Do you know what that is?"

He couldn't help but wonder just how much of her condition the girl was aware of. She reminded him briefly of a student from long ago. He had been young, cocky and standoffish. Him against the world. It had gotten him killed.

"Rhea hoped to separate them from you," Rynhart explained.

He looked ahead once more, his voice neutral on the matter. If they couldn't extract the spirits from the girl, her future could well be quite grim.

"She has gone in search of answers. She should be back in a few days. If she can't extract the spirits from you, it is her belief that you can learn to harness and control these entities. If you can first learn to trust her intentions."

"You understand we can't simply let you go,to resume killing," Rynhart continued as Ai chose to remain silent. "But neither will we force you to stay here."

"If you with to try and harness these spirits, you may remain. If you wish to leave we will return you to Wing City, and turn you over to the WCPD to whatever ends that may lead you."

Their trek through the snow brought them out into an open stretch of the mountainside that overlooked the valleys below. For as far as the eye could see there was nothing but snow, rock and icy rolling peaks with no sign of civilization for miles beyond the temple.

He stopped then, letting her take in the view of the mountains and to weight his words.

Rynhart looked to the girl at his side once more. Perhaps he had misjudged her. Finally he nodded.

"We will do what we can," he replied. It was the best he could offer. "In the meanwhile, it would best if you keep close to the temple."

He thought for a moment before adding, "What's your name?"

"I'm Rynhart," he offered in return.

He too fell to silence as they continued on their way. He wasn't a strong conversationalist himself. His sister, Rhea, had always been the one to understand humans.
