Sandrine Lacombe stepped carefully through the gardens, placing her feet on the same path she always worked without even having to focus. "I am outside and I've been waiting for the sun," she sang to herself quietly, her fingertips playing the correct piano keys onto her sidebag which she had maneuvered in front of herself. "With my wide eyes, I've seen worlds that don't belong. My mouth is dry with words I cannot verbalize," she continued quietly. Her singing was a bit pitchy, but she never really cared for the words. She liked music better. She kept her eyes on her feet, not liking or needing to look up when she walked. She knew the way around this place by memory easily, she tended to walk here often, alway at the same times.

Sandrine Lacombe tilted her head slightly, registering voices somewhere else in the garden. It was rare to find others there while she was, one of the reasons she came. She just...didn't understand how to talk to people, it was a foreign thought. "Tell me why we live this. Keep me safe inside," she continued, growing quieter and quieter, her movements becoming more forced. Soon, her mouth would be moving with wordless singing, her fingers still flitting across imaginary keys.

Sandrine Lacombe paused midstep and made no move to move the foot back or move the other forwards into a more comfortable position. She looked up slowly and examined both with her large eyes carefully before gluing them to the girl's left shoulder. "I think I have seen you before," she stated quietly, hugging her sidebag up to her chest while keeping her hands playing the song slowly. "I did not," she added simply, rolling her head around slightly. People...People were difficult. She had to be careful...don't try to hard, but don't shut off...She tried to imitate the girl by tilting up one corner of her mouth and flapping one hand a bit in an attempt of a wave then dropped her eyes to their feet, not sure if she should keep walking or not.

Sandrine Lacombe rolled her head again for a moment before staring back at their feet. "Sandrine Lacombe. Nice to meet you, Dorian and Krin," she stated slowly and carefully, testing their names out. "I take band, so I have probably seen you there. Thank you, though I still need more practice." She looked up at both of them for a moment. They seemed nice...though most people acted nice until they suddenly started to tease her or confuse her. She wondered for a moment if they were sibling, they both had rather bright red hair, though facial features weren't as similar.

Sandrine Lacombe tilted her head and moved herself so she could see both of their feet more easily, her fingers speeding up again as she switched to the next song. "I play piano, yes," she stated quietly before rolling her head again. She didn't quite understand why both of them kept smiling like that at her, but she gave her best effort to return the gesture, hoping it didn't look quite as strained as if felt. She wasn't really interested in reading, she wasn't very good at it so she had never even tried writing. She looked at Krin for a moment, studying her clothes more than anything before clutching her bag tighter and simply keeping quiet. That girl was in her grade level, she was almost positive...

Sandrine Lacombe tilted her head for a moment and then pulled her bag up a little more, hiding the lower half of her face. "Am I Sandy?" she questioned quietly, not quite sure of herself. She wasn't used to nicknames, didn't really understand their purpose most of the time. She rolled her head once and decided to answer anyways. "I am fifteen. I like to stay in my homeroom classroom most of the school day," she replied, one of her hands stretching out inquisitively. "I am thirsty, yes." She looked at Krin for a moment, but she didn't look like she wanted to talk so she dropped her gaze to their feet again.

Sandrine Lacombe rolled her head once and then gave a slight, strained attempt at a nod. "Alright. I'll remember to respond to 'Sandy,'" she agreed quietly before finally dropping her bag and allowing it to fall to her side while she opened the bottle and took a small, tentative sip. She took a step back when they began to talk to each other and looked to Krin for a moment before, once again, staring at their feet. "Conversing is hard," she agreed quietly. She wanted to get to know both of these people, but...it was as if there was a solid barrier, preventing her from picking up small things that everyone else seemed to catch. She just...didn't understand.

Sandrine Lacombe rolled her head once and tentatively stepped outside her path to sit on the bench that Dorian was sitting on, pulling her bag into her lap and hugging it to herself tightly again, fingers resuming playing the song in her head. She blinked over and over again, also focusing on the word 'friends'. Friends had always seemed nice...to have people to talk to and understand, to play with and rely on. Her mother and her brother were her friends. They were the only ones that ever seemed to try hard enough to meet her at that point. Friends were difficult...a rarity, could a chance meeting really create a friendship? She carefully set the waterbottle between herself and Dorian. "Loneliness is painful," she replied simply, her eyes now on her own feet.

Sandrine Lacombe tilted then rolled her head once, simply listening quietly for a moment. Most of what he said hit home, but...She doubted either of them would be willing to match the effort it took her to try and communicate with people. They wouldn't understand her lack of non-verbal cues, her insistence on proper speech at all times, her odd habits..."Simply because you decide something is good, doesn't make it probable or even possible. Flying might be good, but it's not something that just happens," she stated quietly, her fingers slowing as she switched to a gentler, sadder tune in her mind.

Sandrine Lacombe looked at Dorian carefully, listening very intently as he explained, then her fingers picked up the song he was listening to. She stared at her hands quietly, not able to find any words. She'd said something wrong, right? Was that why he had stood up and talked so much? He was obviously the most talkative of them, but he wasn't talking normally, there was something...behind his words. She wanted to kick her legs and flap her arms and fall to the ground and demand the world make sense...but that had never worked before, it wouldn't work now. She scrunched her face up, irritated with herself, with him, with her, with everything now. And when Krin asked the question, it was as if a button was pressed and she just stopped...everything, no playing twitching, nothing. Dead to the world, trapped in herself.

Sandrine Lacombe 's fingers slowly began to move again, catching up to the music coming from Dorian's iPod. She wasn't familiar with the songs he was listening to, but it was easy enough to match notes to fingers and play like that. If she had an actual piano, she was certain she'd be able to match the main tune of the song. She almost wanted to get up and finish her walk of her normal path, but...there was a chance, right? He had left...and she was getting excited about something. Something about emotions and demanding answers, but Sandrine just wasn't sure quite what was happening...She pulled out one of her colorful notebooks and a purple pen and began to draw rectangles.

Sandrine Lacombe tensed up slightly, leaning over her notebook more, as if trying to bury herself in it. The rectangles were sometimes colored in and the longer you looked, the more they seemed to be part of one picture. "I don't...understand. I don't know what you mean," she replied quietly, pressing harder down on her pen, almost tearing through the page to the one beneath. People...always accused her of being emotionless, careless, a shell of a person, but this girl...was acting as if emotions were foreign concepts. Even she knew emotions...she just didn't know how to express them in an effective manner like everyone else.

Sandrine Lacombe rolled her head slightly and drew one last rectangle around the rest, completing her keyboard. She turned it and allowed her fingers to begin to play on the now specified keys. She shifted slightly at Dorian's question and leaned even more into her notebook, almost curled completely about her bag. She tentatively picked up the water bottle and took another sip before responding and playing again. "Yes and yes, but I don't understand what you mean. Why do you try so hard?" she questioned quietly, looking to Krin for a moment. The other girl looked like she had reached some state of enlightment, some epiphany. She wished that could happen for her...but like doctors all said, she was trapped in misunderstanding, no hope for her. She missed her brother now more than ever...

Sandrine Lacombe laid her head down in her notebook finally, her fingers flitting about her face despite it's obvious interference with her pretend piano playing. She switched to a different song the instant Dorian's iPod went off, not knowing the rest of that song herself. She managed to roll her head a bit, while still letting sit in her notebook, but the stared at them out of the corner of her eye. "Parties...are difficult," she replied simply. She'd only been to a few parties, and half the time she just couldn't understand what everyone was talking about, she kept missing things, and overall it just furthered to frustrate her and make her want to stay in her house as much as possible. "You don't know your birthday?" she questioned Krin curiously. "I never have a party for my own." Just her mother, brother, and her. And now...Just her mother and her.
