A guy whose life was changed before it began
Tyrone is generally reserved to himself and those close to him. When he senses danger to such people, or even to a random person or group, instinct takes over. He figures if nobody gets too attached to him, they won't feel as betrayed should his secret get out to them. He doesn't care much for the company of others, seeing as everyone at his school has one thing in common: they'll all shun him once they see his other side. He'll look out for close friends, family, and comrades, but as for everyone else, it's conditional.
In combat:
-He's a boxer; it's second-nature to use more punches and dodge without jumping or acrobatics.
-He has fire powers that, though somewhat powerful, haven't been completely controlled, and once it gets out of hand, he can't stop whatever happens.
-He can easily hit anyone or anything within 25 feet and can get to any target effectively within 200 feet. Any farther and it doesn't do much, if anything.
-Fire shields can last up to 5 minutes without damage. Otherwise, it withstands up to 25 seconds of constant damage from an average enemy.
-Magnitude is high within 25 feet. As that distance increases, magnitude decreases. After 200 feet, it is very low, and shots fizzle out completely after 250.
-Weaker enemies (such as lowly minions) catch fire very often, but stronger foes (such as main villains or the like) rarely, if ever, stay burning.
-Powers are somewhat reliable; has gained moderate skill in use. In a transformation, though more powerful, his abilities are much less in his control as this points back to the issue of control over transformations and his actions during one.
-Accuracy is somewhat high within 75 feet. Again, this decreases as distance apart increases, and he can't hit any target outside of 250.
-Specific attacks include fire blasts, physical strikes with powers, speed thrusts, and a supernova that spans a radius of 40 feet. He will develop a few more attacks in time, but for now must work on basics.
-As for defense, he either dodges with little movement or blocks. He can't withstand constant attacks breaking through and hitting him before he falls.
-In summary, he has above-average strength attack, mediocre defense, low resistance to taking constant hits, and average, so moderately powered fights or higher don't usually last long.
Tyrone doesn't usually have equipment, but he packs a revolver or double-barrel shotgun whenever necessary.
The whole ordeal began before Tyrone's birth. The fetus in his mother's womb was examined and the doctor found it hadn't grown at the usual pace. He diagnosed that unless something was done, the fetus would die and have to be taken stillborn. The treatment was supposed to be a recently-developed growth stimulant for such a time. His parents had never had a child before and had failed to conceive several times before, so they desperately agreed. However, the doctor was too sure he put the stimulant in a certain compartment of a test-tube rack out of his sight, so he grabbed a vile with a fox's DNA that had been vaporized and condensed into a serum. The DNA infused with his. It somehow worked, and Tyrone survived. The effects of that fateful assumption didn't come around until Tyrone was 13. During one of his classes, he noticed something black on his hand. Assuming he had spilled something on it, he went to the restroom to wash it off. Before he could even get to the sink, he saw the spot had covered his hand, and watched it consume his arm. He looked all over his body as it changed, and knew something was up. He hid from view, and his horror made him want to shout, but he couldn't. By the time his transformation was complete, he poked his head out and looked in the mirror. He saw he had become an anthropomorphic fox. He hopped back in the stall in shock. When a teacher was sent to get him, he refused to leave, unaware he was becoming human again. When the door opened, he wondered why the teacher was giving looking at him funny instead of in terror. Tyrone looked, and he was human. He found these episodes occurred at random. They could happen at any given moment, but they usually came up in a situation of high emotion. The discovery of his powers came about a year after his first transformation when one night, an armed robber busted into his house while he was alone. The robber demanded money, and while he was collecting it, held at gunpoint, he thought of trying to change to shock the thief long enough to do something. He couldn't, and in a fit of rage, lashed at the robber in desperation. He let a fireball loose, and the would-be criminal torched to death.
