Zay

The silver-haired, gentle-souled astrologer.

0 · 139 views · located in The Infinite Void

a character in “The Multiverse”, as played by Candlelight May

Description

Silver hair hangs perfectly straight from the crown of the astrologer's head, half of his face obscured. The visible half, however, reveals steel-gray eyes and a pale complexion, with only the red blush of his cheeks to prevent him from looking like a deathly spectre. His heavy, white plain-cloth robe is similarly colored, but the belt of red-toned leather that cinches its waist breaks the monochromatic theme. Moccasins of the same red leather cover his feet, and three thin red leather bracelets hang on his wrists. Just below these bracelets are the only marks on his body, tattoos of six-pointed stars shine in red ink on the back of his hands.

- Fate as depicted:
A stone archway sits at the center of this section of the door, brilliantly sculpted in the gold of the magnificent door. From the pillars on each side stretch chains, delicately etched into the metal, reaching from the archway to the outstretched arms of a broken man. Long hair hangs down from his bowed head, obscuring his features but not his despair. His body is naked save for the tasteful covering of his hanging hair, and no mark can be seen upon it. All about the man's feet are scattered stars, four- and five- and six-pointed, somehow depicted with such artistry that they seem to share the despondency of the man in the archway. The most striking area of this section, however, is the broad expanse that stretches above the archway. This space is wholly unornamented, in stark contrast to the embellishments that filled the majority of the door, as though the sky itself had rejected its stars and was left perfectly empty, perfectly void.

Personality

Zay is a truly gentle soul, kind to a fault and extraordinarily patient. Though he is soft-spoken he isn't shy, and using the power of the stars to help those around him makes him feel connected to his destiny and reaffirms his optimistic (and almost blind) faith in fate.

History

As a member of the astrologically-focused Citala tribe, Zay was raised to be very aware of the stars and their power. At age eleven, when he came of age and gained his stars, he began studying with his grandmother, discovering which powers and which branches of astrology were best aligned with his soul. At sixteen, after he became a man, he began using his gifts in the service of his people as directed by the elders. And it was three days after he turned twenty-one, three days after he earned his third bracelet and was granted the freedom to practice his astrology at his own discretion, that he had the Dream.

So begins...
