"Wait, wait, wait. Hold up one moment." she held up a finger, "I never said I was coming with you yet! What makes you think you can just speak for me?"
"Is she with you or not?" Dennis asked, gesturing to Delta. "Gotta know who's coming along for the ride."
Was she...
Well, if she did not get the paycheck she wanted, there were always things she could do to get out of it. Kill a few people, burn a few buildings, get Jakob to back her.
Lots of things.
"...fine." she growled, though she felt this awfully shady, "But I want your name, and I want information, as in what your business is and what the hell you're doing with these guys-" She gestured to Dennis.
He looked to Dennis, after he neared the exit. Hatchet began to hum. "Off to see the wizard, bum-bum, bum-bum, bum-bum..." he mumbled. He turned to Vargas, when they got to the door. "Ladies first." He gestured a hand for her to tread on.
No, she was not touching that hand at all.
Instead, she nodded, "Yeah, yeah, skip everything else and just cut to actually tellin' me what's goin' on, alright?" she sneered. "Oh, and if it's ladies first, I'm sure you should be going on in front of me, Rainbow Dash."
She smirked, then looking down to Dennis. Hm. She'd want a word with him.
Hatchet's eyes merely glazed over, in response to Delta's insults. "You know, I could just make you call me boss." Hatchet nodded to Dennis in agreement of his car's extravagance, though it was obvious Hatchet preferred a more luxury-fit. "Will do." He called.
He pulled out his keys formhis inner jacket-pocket, and unlocked the car doors with the remote. The lights flashed in response. He didn't waste time opening the car-door for Vargas. The hint that she could open her own doors was sinking in. He looked back to her and gestured toward the passenger side. "Well, get in." he cocked a brow, still teasing her.
Slowly, she made her way to the passenger seat, glancing at Dennis and asking, with her eyes, why she had to ride with Hatchet, and not him. This creep was giving her the jeebies.
With a huff, she gave Hatchet an impatient and irritable, "I'm comin'!" before sliding into the passenger seat and closing the door.
Fuckin' hell, man. He was too close.
Soon they'd reach Sol Avenue.
It wasn't just that she hated libraries, but that something else entirely was going wrong.
Well, that wasn't entirely true. As crass and rude as she was, David had to admit that Fei had at the very least, helped him learn a few tricks...although he still knew for a fact she enjoyed beating the hell out of him with her magic....
"Uuuuugh. David, are you done yet? Jesus, I mean, I don't believe in him but if he can get you doin' something other than reading then I think I might be willing to give some faith!"
Ah, there it is. David pulled a book off the shelf and placed it under his arms with the others before making his way back to the table.
And right onto David's shoulders, sitting there comfortably.
"You know, experience is the best teacher. Really. I'll just take care of them right before they kill you if you screw up."
"And I do have my pride after all. So for now I am going to study, no one is saying you have to stay here. If you want to go to Gambits and get hit on by some drunk idiot then by all means go on ahead."
David then pulled a book off his little stack and opened up in front of him, trying to find a spot where he could read comfortably with her weight on his shoulders.
"Don't talk to me like that when I'm offering you a favor, fucktard." she hissed, grabbing a handful of his hair to arch it backwards. Never mind she was pulling his head back onto her stomach.
Fei...funnily enough, looking into his eyes, looked worried. She was never worried.
"Because I need help too."
One thing he'd learned was this girl never needed help. She had more pride than every man in existence and was more stubborn than a boulder.
This had to be something pretty serious....and honestly...it kind of scared him.
Her face was red, both from anger and embarrassment. She had half a mind to just break his nose for the look he was giving her.
"I kind of...killed a human by accident yesterday...so..." She grit her teeth. Oh, she could not go on!
"So...tell me what happened." David finally said, letting his body wind down and relaxing his head in her hold.
She braced her feet against the edge of the table, grunting. "I'm...being...put on suspension tomorrow." She cringed, trying to summon some strength to say the next few words.
"Magic suspension."
"Wait....who else knows about this?" From what she told him...Fei had a lot of enemies, unsurprisingly enough, and if they found out about this...
