A blind Priestess. Though she can heal others, she cannot heal her own tragic past.
Personality: Lorelei has always been extremely kind and caring of others. Because of her reclusive life in the priesthood, she was quite naïve and innocent. She still retains those qualities somewhat, but her experience with war and death has made her much more worldly and wise.
She will never leave a person in need. As a devout follower of the Goddess, despite the unfortunate circumstances that lead to her leaving the priesthood, she believes it is her duty to serve the Goddess by doing everything she can to help Her creatures. She will use her powers without reservation on anyone who needs them, regardless of race, ethnicity, or other factors.
Weapon: A staff with a pure silver base, topped with a spherical moonstone called Luna's Tear. The stone was passed through her family for generations, and was said to be a gift from the goddess of the moon, endowing it's owner with the power of light.
Fighting Style: She is more of a defensive fighter. Though she knows little about her family, she was told that her mother was an elf, and therefore she has elven blood. As such, she can perform healing magic, and she is quite proficient. Through both prayer and incantation she can heal wounds in battle.
She can also use light magic as a weapon, and her staff packs a powerful punch if you get to close.
Since she no longer has the ability of sight, she uses her other senses in battle more than most. She mostly relies on vibrations to know where her enemies are and the best way to strike. It is also important for her to keep track of her allies to know if and when they need her attention.
Background: Lorelei's mother abandoned her as a baby, and because of this she was taken into a Temple when she was very young, and raised by the priestesses there. She was trained from childhood on to use her life in service to the Goddess of Love, birth, and healing. This was unusual as people normally joined the Priesthood only after coming of age, but Lorelei exhibited unusual abilities.
From an early age, she was able to heal people using prayer and incantations, and showed skill in making medicines from herbs and various other plants. She had an obvious interest in treating sick and injured people. She was allowed to work in the Temple’s infirmary, and served the Goddess by helping those she could.
When a war started, she felt it was her duty to do what she could to help sick and injured soldiers. Much to her dismay, her sister priestess’s did not agree with her. They believed it was unrighteous to support those who took up arms. After a long struggle with her conscience, Lorelei left the Temple to become a nurse for the Military.
There she met a handsome and charismatic officer who worked as a doctor. His name was Sylas Knorr. She worked under him, and the two became fast friends. They fell in love, sharing a lot of the same interests and beliefs, and decided to get married. It was around this time that Lorelei was blinded during an explosion. She could no longer serve in the Military, and she and Sylas would be separated.
Once she was fully healed, with the exception of her eyesight which would never return, Sylas took a leave of absence from his work in the Military, and the two were married. They spent a happy few months in the home they purchased on the outskirts of a town, but eventually, Sylas had to go back.
A few months after his return to the Military, Sylas was killed under suspicious circumstances that were never fully explained to Lorelei. She mourned, but she had no way of finding out what had actually happened to her husband. She stayed in they house they bought together, where they were once happy, and made her living selling medicines.
