         LightningClaw puts Scorchpaw down after she walked through the water. She shook her pelt and looked at the wet Scorchpaw with a smile. ''Now you've had a good bath,'' she laughed and looked at Sleetpaw with a gentle smile. ''I found it when I was younger. I made it my home, but I also joined the clan. But, I am only around when they really need me,'' she said and walked to the back. She flipped some stones over and threw a fish to Sleetpaw and a fish to Scorchpaw. ''Easy up Scorchpaw, you'll be having a hard time if not. Water isn't that bad you know, and learning to swim is easy. You'll be feeling more comfortable after a while,'' she sat and laid down.

         Ashpelt looked around as he listened to Swanstar speak. Were StormClan really short of mentors? It was a little disconcerting.

Another cat from StormClan stood up and offered to mentor one of the apprentices. Why hadn't they chosen her? He wondered.

The rain was pouring. His fur had gotten completely soaked, sticking out in little spikes, but the added weight meant nothing to him. Flicking one of his ears, he contemplated volunteering. It wasn't the most appropriate thing he could do, due to his heritage, and judging by the glances a few cats gave him, it didn't seem like he'd be any more easily trusted.

He stood up. "I'll volunteer, if you'll have me." He barely suppressed an appreciative purr when he caught the glare of one of his less tolerant clanmates. "I wouldn't mind having one. I do have StormClan roots, after all." The sky lit up as lightning flashed, followed by a resounding boom.
