You just don't get it
Asura is cold and rash, she is quick to anger but she also has what she thinks is her kingdom's best interest in mind. Asura is not very emotional but takes a lot of pride in the world she has created. She always thinks she is right so getting her to admit she is wrong or change her mind is damn near impossible. She will only listen to her advisor on matters of state and anything that needs to be brought to her attention has to go through the royal advisor. She was indiferent to the human's presence in her world until they started opposing her. She always thought the worst of humans because their life was pathetically short and she never understood their society. They are all angry about the other side taking children, yet hundreds of thousands of children starve to death every year.
Whatever she wants
Asura was once a human, many thousands of years ago. She was lost and alone, abandoned by her family to die in the wilderness. The weak link. She survived for a short time, but grew ill. She started experiencing the strangest things when she slipped into unconscious. A place that was dark and ravaged with fear and anger, a place with no rhyme or reason it. She found a tree, a beautiful young sapling amongst all the chaos. She chose to give her body to the tree, to help it grow, her sacrifice. As the tree grew and it's roots spread out through the dream land, order and happiness started to flourish. The more evil creatures were driven out to the boarders, and into the seas. As time went on the people that started to inhabit the world lacked direction and didn't know what to do with themselves, and their unnaturally short lifespan. The tree gave Asura back her spirit, but kept her human body. Her spirit had shed it's mortal skin and she turned into something else. She was now one of them, one of the people of the other side. She easily took command and control of the people, brought order and direction. She set up government, and eased the people through the many hardships.
