Nemoru "Neru" Chiri's Story

Neru sighed, shaking her head. "Let's just go...." She put her elbow on the window, rolling it down. "Got anymore Mike's? I'm in the need for some alcohol and lemonade...." Sighing, she looked out the window. 'I'm really tired...'

She closed her eyes, and rested her chin on her hand. 'Help...'

Neru unbuckled her seat-belt, getting out of the car slowly. "Damn DJ, you drive like you're on freaking, GTA, or something..." Remembering about the Mike's, she went back into the car. She reached into the backseat, trying to reach for his backpack. 'I swear, if my skirt goes up any higher than this, I will destroy him...' She got the backpack and shut the door.

When she popped the lid open, she saw the different license plates. "Dude, smooth on getting different license plates... I'd never would have thought of that..." Neru took a long drink from her bottle and her face instantly turned red again. 'Aww, fuck it....'

She walked up to him, grabbing his arm. Slurring a bit in Japanese, she said, "DJ-kun... Watashi wa anata suki... Tsuneni..." She looked up at him, turning a brighter red. 'Shit! I really hope he didn't understand that one...'

Neru sighed and put her head on his shoulder. "Fine... I'm not drinking your Jack... Who knows what would happen if I drank that anyways...." 'For all I know, I might be trying to get all up on him.... No, I don't want that. And I bet he doesn't either...' She wrapped her arms around his waist, hugging him.

"I'm getting sleepy..." Closing her eyes, Neru started to mumble loud enough for him to hear her. "We should..really...hang out more often...." 'But, the least you can do for me is, next time, find a non-alcoholic drink....'

Neru moved around quite a bit, trying to get comfortable. 'God freaking dammit, this is a really uncomfortable position... I really hope he doesn't take this the wrong way....' She put her legs up on the couch and curled them in. 'A little better...' Her head started to slide, and she landed on his lap again. 'Shit...'

She took her arms from his waist and put her hands under her head. Even though that was the most comfortable position Neru could sleep in, she sat up, talking in a sleepy voice. "Dammit....can't..freaking...sleep...." She pulled her hair ties out and shook her hair out. Letting her hair fall in front of her eyes, Neru kept her head down. "DJ, I have to tell you something..." 'Don't say it... Don't you dare say it...' She kept her head down and sat on her knees. "I..."

Neru stood up, keeping her eyes down. "I'm... I'm just gonna go...." She sighed and started to walk out the door. 'At least he won't know....' She played with the edges of her skirt as she walked out. Still slightly tipsy, Neru was able to walk without a problem.

When she was out the door, Neru looked up and got blinded by the sunlight. 'Shit!..' She decided that since the sun wasn't going to be her ally, she would just keep her hair in front of her eyes the whole time. 'I'll just walk home, then I'm going to watch my anime...' She continued to walk, but occasionally walked off the sidewalk.

Suddenly, she walked right into someone. "Err, sorry..." "What the hell do you mean 'Sorry'?!" Neru looked up and saw a large person in front of her. Her buzz had gone away some, and she flipped her hair. She tried to walk to the side, but he blocked her. She walked to the other side, but she was blocked there too. "Umm, you're in my way..." The guy chuckled and crossed his arms. "So what if I'm in your way? You were in mine." He looked closely at her and smiled mischievously. "Hey, you're kinda cute. Why don't you just come with me and-" He was cut off by Neru kicking him in the side. She hightailed as fast as she could away from him. "Hey! Get back here, bitch!" Neru looked behind her and saw him running after her. 'What the fuck is wrong with this guy...' She stopped running. When the guy saw her stop, he slowed down and stood about five feet from her. "Fine. Wanna see something that few guys have seen before?" He smiled at her and asked in a slick tone, "What?" Neru took four small steps and jumped. When she was high enough in the air, she twisted around and kicked him in the face. The sound that came from her foot smashing against his face was like music to her ears. When Neru landed, he came down like the walls of Jericho. "Well, it looks like my buzz is gone now. Had enough?" The guy started to get up, only getting to the part where he could just look up at her. "Who the fuck are you?!" She put a strand of hair behind her ears and crossed her arms. "I'm someone you shouldn't mess with..." She walked away from him, heading home. 'Well, that was fun...'

Woodstock tried to stop her as she left his home, knowing full well that she was too smashed to be of any good judgement, but he slipped off the couch as he tried to follow, landing on a blanket, which intwined its owner for the fuck of it. Woodstock wrestled with the fabric before untangling himself, grabbing his bag and running out the door to just catch a glimpse of purple. He ran after it, chasing it down until he rammed into a tree, the purple being nothing but a butterfly.

Which, ironically enough, landed him in the yard of some rich pricks...

Neru walked onto her lawn, just in time to see the babysitter inside her house freak out. "What the crap, kid! You're too much! You're only eight, and crazy! I'm outta here!" Carly rushed out of the house, her long, brown hair in a mess. Neru chuckled at the sight of the pretty girl looking terrible. "Having fun watching Kai?" Carly looked at her and gave her the evil eye. "I don't know how you can live with that..that..fucking brat! Ugh! That's it, you're finding a new babysitter for that demon of your little brother..." She stormed off to her car and drove off in a huff. 'Hehehe, nice one, Kai...' Neru turned around and walked in through the open door.

Kai was playing with his Gundam models that their grandma had sent. He looked up at his sister and smiled widely. "Neru-nē! Okaerinasai! Gakkō wa dōdatta?"(1) Neru smiled at knelt down next to him. "Sore wa itsumo no yō ni, taikutsudatta..."(2) She picked up one of his models and looked at it. "Nē, ane-san wa kyō hādona tsuitachi o motte ita...."(3) She put the Gundam down and stood up. "Kai-kun, you should try speaking more English. That way, you can talk to your friends at school." He looked down shyly, and tried to say something English. "Shikashi, Neru-nē... Itsu harrudo tu supiiku ingurishu... Watashi wa ōku no nihonjin ni wa narete iru shitte iru...."(4) Neru sighed and went into the kitchen. She got out his favorite bowl with the stickers on it and filled it with cereal. "Kai-kun, that's the most English I've heard come out of your mouth. Now, come here. I know how much you like this cereal."

(2) "It was boring, as usual..."
(3) "Hey, bis sister had a hard day today...."
(4) "But, Neru-nē... It's hard to speak English... You know I'm more used to Japanese...."

Neru was playing with Kai when she heard her phone play Hatsune Miku's version of Meltdown. 'Eh? I got a text...' Pulling out her phone from her jacket pocket, she flipped it open and looked at the message. 'Weird.. I don't know this number...'

"It's Woodstock. Borrowing phone. WHERE THE FUCK ARE YOU? DID YOU TAKE THE STRANGE MAN'S CANDY?" She smiled at the text from DJ and typed her reply quickly. "Dude, I just got home...and, I have no idea of what you're talking about... By the way, where are you?.. And who's number is this anyways?..." Pressing the send button, Kai put his toy down and looked at her. "Neru-nē, anatahadare ni itte iru ndesu ka? Sore wa DJ-senpai ga futatabidesu ka??"(1) Neru looked at him and blushed slightly. "Eh? Yeah it's him... He just texted me asking where I am." She picked up his GM sniper Gundam and held it in his face. "Nē, shouldn't you be cleaning this up? The other parts are all over the place!" Kai started scrambling around, picking up the pieces of his unfinished models. "Nē-chan! Hidoi desuu~!"(2)

Woodstock took to thinking, before the woman's phone received a text. He read it to himself, then began a message back. Landed in some rich chick's backyard trying to find you. Are your parents home? Are you still tipsy? If Neru was still smashed, even slightly, Woodstock feared that the wrath of Neru's father's ancestors raining down upon him. Which would not be a good thirty-fourth impression.

Looking up to the woman, he picked up his wipeboard again. 'Never got your name, by the way. You can call me DJ Woodstock.' He thought for a moment, before adding, 'And $5000 would be swell.' He allowed her to read, taking another swig of the clear alcohol. No bad memories...just 'cause it was there.

Neru put the last of the Gundam pieces away when she heard her phone ring again. Checking the message, she chuckled quietly to herself. 'Landed in some rich chick's backyard trying to find you. Are your parents home? Are you still tipsy? She typed quickly again, saying, "Of course my parents aren't home. You already know how far away they freaking work...and no, I'm not tipsy..my buzz went away when this random thug came out of nowhere and tried to get with me....ugh, the nerve of that guy...good thing I kicked his sorry ass. You know, you better give the rich lady back her phone before she makes her security do it ;P jk, bro..." She hit the send button and put her phone away.

"Nē-chan, anata wa DJ ga sukidesu ka?"(1) Neru blushed at Kai's question. "Ah, no, Kai... He's just my friend, you know that..." He tilted his head and looked at her. "Hmm... Wakarimashita..."(2) She smiled at him and rubbed his hair. "Sugoku ka-wa-ī~!"(3) Nē-chan!! Kore wa itai! Sutoppu!"(4)

(2) "Hmm... I understand..."
(3) "So cute~!"
(4) "Nē-chan!! That hurts! Stop!"

Neru had just finished putting away Kai's toys when a knock came at the door. "Coming!" She opened the door and saw an officer holding DJ by his neck. "What the-" "Found him in the park with a bottle of scotch and a kitchen knife, his sleeve rolled up. I don't think he's in any condition to be left alone." She pulled him in by his sleeve, taking him in the house. "Thank you officer. I'll see to this guy at once..." The officer nodded his head, leaving DJ in her care.

When he had left, Neru set DJ on the couch. "Mataku... Kai! Ikutsu ka no mizu o nyūshu!"(1) "Hai, Neru-nē!" She got up and got a wet towel from the sink and put it on his head. "What the crap..." Neru sat there next to him, her hands in her lap. Soon enough, Kai came back with a glass of water."Neru-nē! Mizu! Ā, DJ-senpai?"(2) She looked at her brother and took the glass from him. "Arigatō..." Setting the glass down on the coffee table, Neru took the knife and the bottle from him. "Geez DJ.... What the hell did you do this time?! Ah, Kai-kun. Go to your room..." "Eh!? Shikashi, watashi wa DJ-senpai de purei shitai!"(3) She turned him around and made him walk. "Room, now!" "Hidoi desuu~"(4)

As Kai went to his room, Neru got up from the couch. "I'm going to make dinner now. DJ..." She looked at him and sighed. "Just sit here for now..." She went into the kitchen and started to prepare for dinner. As she was pulling out ingredients from the cupboard, her phone rang. Picking it up, Neru looked at the ID. "Hai, moshi moshi?" "Neru-chan! Mama and Papa aren't going to be back in time for dinner!" "Huh?! But, I just started making it!" "It's okay, anata(5). Also, we're going to visit your grandparents for a week, so don't worry about us!" "But-!" "Ī nda yo!(6) We have clothes over there anyways so, take care! Be sure that Kai-kun doesn't eat too many sweets! Je ne!" "Mama! Mō... Looks like it's just us..." 'Wait a minute... If DJ's gonna be here for a while, and Mama and Papa aren't... What the hell?!' Neru shook her head at the thought. 'Gotta think straight. Have to take care of Kai and... DJ....' She sighed and continued with the dinner.

The kitchen filled with the scent of freshly cooked food. Kai came down to the kitchen, apparently drawn by the scent of fresh takoyaki and fried unagi. "Nē-chan, nē-chan, anata wa, unagi to takoyaki o tsukuru nodesu ka?"(7) She looked at him and smiled. "Anata no ok-i-nii-ri!"(8) Kai broke into a wide smile and hugged his sister. "Arigatō, nē-chan!" He spun around in a circle, looking happier. Neru looked over at DJ and sighed. 'This guy...' She put the takoyaki and unagi on plates and set them on the table. "Time to eat!" "Yatta! Ittadakimasu!"(9) She set up a place for DJ to sit and coaxed him to come over. "Hey DJ, why don't you eat with us?"

(2) "Neru-nē! Water! Ah, DJ-senpai?"
(3) "Eh!? But, I want to play with DJ-senpai!"
(4) "So mean~"
(5) "Anata" in this context means "Dear"
(6) "It's okay!"
(7) "Nē-chan, nē-chan, did you make unagi and takoyaki?"
(8) "Your fa-vo-rite!"
(9) "Yay! Thanks for the food!"

Neru watched as DJ sat with the both of them. "Ittadakimasu!"(1) She took chopsticks and stuck it into one of her takoyaki balls. Taking a small bite out of it, she looked up and began to think out loud. "Hmm, still not as good as Mama's... Hora, Kai-kun, don't make such a mess...." Kai looked at his sister, his mouth full of unagi. "Gome nasai, nē-chan..."(2) He started eating slower and chewed at an unnecessarily slow pace. "Kai-kun, that's way to slow to be chewing your food..." "Hai..!"

Neru tried the unagi this time. "Eh? I thought this would taste better..." Kai swallowed his food and looked at her. "Nē-chan, anata ga shinpai sa rete iru ibo..."(3) She looked up with a surprised look on her face. "Am not... It's just that Mama cooks better..." "Nē-chan, anata ga shinpai subekide wa arimasen!"(4) Neru looked at her food and smiled. "You're right... Hora, finish your food!" "Mō, nē-chan!"(5) He finished the last bits of unagi that were left on his plate and set it in the sink. "Oh? Kai-kun, that was fast...." "Watashi wanakereba naranai,-sōdenakereba watashi wa puraimu taimu no anime o minogashitai!"(6) Neru laughed at him, takoyaki sauce on her face. "Haha, Kai-kun! Fine, fine. Go to your room then."

As soon as he left, Neru looked at DJ and smiled. "Hey, how's the food? It's not really as good as my mom's, but I'm still working on it..." She looked down and ate her takoyaki. 'Hmm, still needs work...'

(6) "I have to be, otherwise I'd miss my prime time anime!"

Neru laughed as DJ fell on his backside. "Hahaha! DJ, get yourself together!" She helped him up and set the dishes in the sink. "I'm probably going to do those later..." She turned the water on and let it run through the dishes. "That's just to keep the food from sticking." She turned the water off when it was enough and left them there.

Stretching herself out, Neru lay on the couch. "Whaaa! I'm tired!" She grabbed one of the cushions with a cat and put it on her face. "You know if you have to, you can stay with us for a while... Our parents are going to visit my grandma, so they won't be back for a couple days." Neru stretched again, hitting her hand on the coffee table. "De-de-de-de-de-de, itai...."(1)

(1) "Ow-ow-ow-ow-ow-ow, that hurt...."

Neru looked over at DJ and smiled. "Hahaha, dude! I swear, maybe you should lay off a little from the booze. Seriously, don't want Kai to see this, right?" She laughed again, the sound somewhat similar to a puppy tickling a baby. She picked up some of the toys that had fallen on the floor and put them back in Kai's toy box. "When you're done invading Pekopon, just come upstairs. I'm sure Kai would love it if you stayed in his room." She set the box in the corner of the room and went upstairs.

Opening the door to her room, Neru saw how messy it was from earlier that day. 'Geez, I really need to clean up...' She starting picking up some of her dirty clothes and threw them into the hamper in her closet. She looked at some of her vocaloid posters and smiled happily. 'Too bad I can't see them in concert...' Folding her cosplays and putting them in her drawers, Neru kept out the uniform that one of her cousins got for her. "I wonder if I really can fit this..." Trying it on, she looked in her wall mirror. "Wow, she was right when she said I'd look good in it." She spun in a circle and watched her skirt fly. "Hehe, good thing no one can see me."

And that was where Neru was wrong. Woodstock had opened the door in accidental silence moments before, stunned into further silence as beauty was complemented with beautiful clothing. Although, the skirt was a bit short--as intended by anime producers--and her spin cause a slight line of blood to form from Woodstock's nose, a blush arising to his face. He hadn't been trying to be sneaky--he had been looking for Kai's room, which was difficult to do when drunk.

Realizing that Neru may have not been so happy to have him there, he attempted to backtrack and hightail it out of the immediate area. However, as he took a step back, he stepped on a toy, sending him sprawling into the room, falling flat on his face. The fall was nothing short of loud, and was complimented by a groan of pain. 'Ow.'

Hearing a sudden thud come from behind her, Neru turned around and saw DJ flat on his face. At first, her face turned a pale white, which was quickly replaced by a dark red. Panicking, she held up DJ's head. "DJ," her voice turning into ice. "What are you doing in my room?"

She let his head down and grabbed a pillow off her bed. Lifting his head up, she put the pillow under his head. Thinking that he was rude enough to come into her room while she was wearing the uniform, she decided to drive his face into the pillow several times before he had enough. Neru let his head fall onto the pillow and sat on her knees. "DJ, were you peeping at me?"

'I swear, if he was, I'll make him regret this....'

Neru looked at him with pity and sighed. 'He probably was too damn drunk to find Kai's room....' She squat down next to him and poked his face. "Hey, get up... I wasn't trying to kill you..." Looking at him, she lifted his head up and looked him in the eye. "Dude, either you go to Kai's room, or you can stay in the corner for as long as you need to. Meanwhile, I'm going to take care of the booze you had earlier...." Neru chuckled to herself thinking of what would probably happen if the alcohol was left downstairs. "I don't feel like seeing you drunk anymore, okay?"

She patted her skirt down and walked through the door. "Oh, and Kai's room is all the way down the hall." Neru continued walking, going back downstairs. Seeing the Jack on the table, she picked it up and held it in her hand. 'He must really be a drinker if he can stand this... Heh, almost like papa...' She chuckled and hid the alcoholic drink in the freezer.

'This is going to be a rather awkward night...'

Putting away the dishes that she had finally finished cleaning, Neru went back upstairs and went into her room. Seeing DJ in the corner curled up in that position, she couldn't help but smile. "Kawai..."(1) She knelt next to him and started stroking his back. 'Maybe I should just let him stay in here for a while... Looks like he won't be up for a while...'

Leaving him there, Neru picked up a blanket from the closet and put it around him. 'He should stay warm for a while...' She started going through her dresser and pulled out her pajamas. Quickly changing before DJ could wake up, she slipped quietly into bed. 'I wonder what's going through his head?'

Neru closed her eyes, and started to drift off to sleep. "Watashi no koi o higeki no jurietto ni shinaide. Koko kara tsuredashite. Sonna kibun yo..."(2)
