A survivor.
David has retained his military training, but because he has seen so much he is now quiet and reserved. Sticking to his training as a sniper he has become a loner. Desperately not trying to connect with anyone because they may very soon well be dead, David has become something of a scavenger. He longs to extract his revenge against the invaders, but holds his combat with the enemy to self-defense, only wishing he had the guts or know-how to be a effective resistance member.
David carries around a duffle-bag in which he keeps anything he can find of value. Because of his scavenging nature he often has many things on him that are useful or can be bartered. However his staples are his combat survival knife which he has managed to hang onto, his radio that has long lost any function but he continues to keep, and his military standard-issue bullet-firing sniper rifle which is broken down because it has been a long time sense David has seen any bullets. Combined from his previous ocupation and the emense amount of radiation David has gained the Rune ability of amazing vision and can see clearly for distances of up to three miles with concentration, however this has given him an extreme sensitivity to any artificial light and must keep his tinted aviator goggles at all times. Any direct exposure to artificial light and David is knocked unconsciousness and develops temporary blindness upon awaking.
Part of the military sniper corps in District 1, David was a high ranking soldier before the Cataclysm. However on that fateful day everything changed. With the rest of Sol's militaries David's unit mobilized to fight this new threat, but it was soon obvious that years of peace had ill-prepared them for this new fight. After seeing his squad mates die around him and his spotter literally being torn apart and eaten alive, David embraced his inner coward and decided to run instead of fighting until the end. He never forgave himself for his moment of cowardice and began calling himself "Nomed", symbolizing how he views himself as a backwards demon. He cut all emotional ties and ran, cowering in sewers and living in the dark, but above all: surviving. Broken mentally he lives to fight another day.
