Age: 26
Sex: Female
Height: 170 cm (~5’ 7”)
Weight: 54 kg (~120 pounds)
Body Type: Mesomorph
Voice Type: Mezzo Soprano

Preferred Weaponry:

* Katana
* Hand-to-Hand Combat

Combat Style:

* Soft

Saiyan Rank: Vanguard

Starting Power Level: 100,000

Suppressed Power Level: 25,000

Personality: Kurosa is what you would call a true Saiyan Warrior in that she is serious, proud, and doesn’t take kindly to anyone undermining her power and how hard she’s worked to achieve it. She is tough, tenacious, and ruthlessly cunning as a warrior. Her combat experience is second to none, as she’s been fighting since she was old enough to walk with her siblings, friends, school bullies, competitive rivals, and her enemies all across the galaxy. Countless battles and life-or-death situations have forged her combat instincts to very near their peak. Even when caught off guard she remains cool and collected and quickly assesses and takes control of the situation. She never lets anyone or anything stand above her, so if you knock her down don’t you dare stand over her and gloat or you will face the wrath of a Saiyan unleashed.

Powers And Abilities:

* Infinite Ki Edge - Using her sword as a conduit, she channels her Ki through it and places a very sharp and focused layer of Ki over its edge. From this edge, she can slice through nearly anything and also fire projectile blues capable of doing extreme damage to anything they touch.

* Ki Gradient - A technique taught to her by her dear friend, Era Niir’lana. It allows her to form a protective layer of Ki over her body which diverts and dilutes incoming Ki attacks, even when they come from a being with power much greater than her own. However, the weakness of this technique is that it is incredibly taxing on the body, and the greater the difference in power between her and her enemy, the more stamina she loses when using it.

* Limit Breaker - This is a biological phenomenon possessed only by Kurosa and the other four Saiyans who survived the SLBP. The Limit Breaker ability comes in two forms:

A) Outbursts of anger which vastly increase their power levels for brief periods of time.

B) After recovering from grievous injuries, especially life-threatening injury, the Saiyan’s power level increases exponentially in proportion to the damage done.

Biography: The Saiyan Limit Breaker Project, or SLBP, was founded over twenty years ago on Haurbo Prime, a backwater world which had been colonized by Saiyans around two hundred years ago. In the initial stages of the project, it met with fierce resistance from the King of Saiyans for the idea that the “modification” of the Saiyan genome would “undermine” and “contaminate” the gene pool. He thus ruled that such experiments were highly illegal and would be met with execution by his very hand should anyone be found guilty of its practice. As a result, the original team moved to Haurbo Prime and created Ki-Shielded underground bunkers undetectable by power-reading devices of any kind to continue their tests in secret. And it is there that our story begins…

Kurosa is the first infant who was subjected to the tests while still inside her mother’s womb. Her mother, a scientist among the organization, had volunteered her unborn child to the experiment for the sake of advancing the Saiyan genome and unlocking the true potential of the Saiyan Race. As such, the unborn infant was carefully administered numerous injections while inside the womb through her mother’s lower abdomen throughout her development cycle. Each injection introduced a new strand of DNA meant to overtake the strands in the Saiyan genome which the lead scientists had found to be largely responsible for the limitations on Saiyan power. Kurosa had several close calls while in development, but ultimately didn’t suffer any crippling or debilitating effects.

Finally, the day had arrived. Birth. Kurosa was born after eleven hours of labor and found to be a perfectly healthy child. Tests were run on her blood to see if the introduced DNA had taken effect within her, but initial tests were negative. Kurosa was deemed a failed experiment at first… However, that did not last long.

Kurosa, at six months of age, had a temper tantrum and unleashed a small concussive burst of power from her body in a similar manner to a fully grown Saiyan power up. When they scanned her power level, they found it to be just over 200 which was unheard of for an infant. When they took another blood test after her outburst, they discovered something extraordinary. Her original DNA had attacked the introduced DNA, thinking it a virus/hostile presence, assimilated its properties, and made them its own. And all the while her original DNA blueprint hadn’t changed at all despite assimilating the introduced DNA’s properties. Her Saiyan body had conquered an introduced foe, and made its power its own.

This was the success they had been looking for. This was the Saiyan Limit Breaker Project’s dream made real.

Kurosa was subjected to numerous tests over the next few months, and it was found that every time she had an outburst her power level increased from where it had been originally. As well, she had accidentally fallen off a testing table and broke her arm. The scientists rushed her to the medical bay to splint the arm and provide her with a sedative to prevent another outburst, and after her recovery they found her power level had risen substantially. By the time she was only 10 months old her power level was already almost 1,200, and the team knew immediately that the experiment was a success. It was then they made the decision to find more test subjects and continue their experiments.

At first, results were negative across the board. It seemed Kurosa was a freak accident, never meant to be duplicated. Not until a breakthrough occurred thanks to an epiphany provided by Kurosa’s own mother. They had tried their experiments on infants who were already born, so she suggested that they repeat their success by subjecting pregnant mothers to the injections prior to birth as they’d done with Kurosa. At first the team was reluctant due to the health risks for both infant and mother to a prior-birth test, but Kurosa’s mother persisted arguing the point until she won the day and it was agreed to that the tests would commence.

Later that year, pregnant volunteers were brought in for the project and their unborn children subjected to the same injections as Kurosa had been throughout the pregnancy. Sadly, only six infants survived until birth, and only four survived after the first month of life. But those four joined a now 2 year-old Kurosa as successful efforts of forever changing Saiyan biology into something which would never again be limited by the previous weakness of their Race’s genome. But at this time, someone had also ratted the organization out for their experiments, and Kurosa and the children were spirited away as quickly as possible and all evidence of success destroyed by the time Saiyan law enforcement came for them. Kurosa’s mother, as well as all others involved in the experiment, were executed for illegal genetic experimentation as per the King’s orders.

To this day, Kurosa is the only one who knows why it is that this group of five Saiyans is not bound by the limitations of their brethren. As far as the Saiyan Race knows, these five special individuals do not exist. They suppress their powers in an effort to blend in, as they know that the current King, having known about the SLBP, would have them executed as the result of the experiments. But he is aging. Once he dies, they will finally be able to show the rest of their Saiyan brothers and sisters who and what they are. They will finally be able to show them the glory of potentially unlimited power and the dominance the Saiyan Race may one day possess if they continue to evolve and grow stronger.

So begins...

Kurosa caught the end of Totoma's first statement, and arched an eyebrow. However, she said nothing on the subject.

"The technique I used is incomplete. I must develop it further before it becomes useful the way we would need it." She said.

However, she smiled.

"Regardless. I'd like you to try that transformation one more time, Era. Even if you can't accomplish it, I want to watch your process. I might be able to come up with something to help you if I do."

Era nodded and stood up. She floated up into the air and back a ways to give them space.

The air grew warmer as Era began pooling her Ki, and tiny bio-electric sparks began to sporadically appear in the air all around them. Era drew her arms in and growled in effort as she began powering up. Her eyes turned teal in color, and her hair began flowing out and back behind her.

"Good, Era! Keep it up!" Kurosa urged.

Era kept pushing. Her muscles began to bulge slightly, and increased in definition. The veins in her neck and head began to pop out a bit, showing the physical strain of the transformation.

"Keep your body calm, Era! Let your power do the work!" She called.

Era began yelling in effort as she closed her eyes. Her Ki erupted around her in the red aura as she visualized Totoma and Kurosa mourning her dead body like last time. She could feel a great pain in her heart from the visual, and her power began to soar.

The bio-electric sparks grew in size, and her Ki began to flash gold along with her hair and tail just like last time.

"That's it, Era! Whatever you're thinking of, hold it! Enhance it!!" Kurosa yelled.

Era's vision changed to Totoma and Kurosa weeping over her grave. A makeshift gravestone with her name carved in it.

Her fingers dug into her palms, which began to bleed, and she continued screaming in effort as her power soared higher and higher.

"You know what he looks like, Era! You've seen him once before, long ago! It's his fault, Era. It's his fault!!" Kurosa shouted.

Era's power spiked, as did the size of her aura. Her hair and tail turned gold and stayed that way as she began to reach up for her head again, just like last time. Her eyes opened and were pure white, just as before. And her screams changed from screams of effort to screams of agony and pain.

And another important detail emerged to Kurosa's highly trained eye: tears.

The tears were evaporating incredibly quickly, but Kurosa could see Era was crying.

Whether it was from physical or emotional pain, or perhaps both, Kurosa didn't know. But Era was crying as she screamed and gripped her head up in the sky above them.

"Blame it all on him, Era!!" Kurosa screamed.

Era threw her head back as her power spiked again along with the size of her aura. Once again it enveloped the entire space around them.

She was close... She was so tantalizingly close!!

Her body and aura began flashing gold again as the air sizzled and smoked around them. Particles of dust evaporating in the heat of her aura. But, just as it was last time, Era couldn't seem to get the handle on this power. It vanished in a flash, and as last time Era fell towards the ground with Kurosa there to catch her.

She was awake this time, breathing heavily and exhausted. But she was all right.

"Well done, Era. You were close." Kurosa cooed as she sat down placing Era in her lap and cradled Era's head to her shoulder.

"I... Failed again... Sis... I'm sorry." Era whispered weakly.

Kurosa smiled and rested her cheek against Era's forehead, stroking her hair.

"You did no such thing, Era... In fact, you succeeded. If even only for a brief moment, you succeeded." Kurosa said.

Era started to cry again, but this time in frustration that she couldn't harness this power.

"It's all right, Era. I'm here. So is Totoma. This was only your second try. How long did it take before you could land a punch against me when we were young?"

Era fought back her tears to answer.

"Days..." She replied.

"Correct. It took you days of hard training all in a row before you could so much as land a single punch back then. You are stronger now. Much stronger. This is a difficult task I have asked of you. Infinitely harder than landing a punch. And I do not expect you to master it anytime soon." Kurosa cooed, continuing to stroke Era's hair.

Era nodded.

"I'll take you back inside so you can get some rest. An hour in the rejuvenation chamber should be sufficient. Then we can all gather for our meal. Sound good?" She asked softly.

Era nodded once again.

Kurosa picked her up and floated into the sky.

"Totoma, I'll take her back this time. If you'd like to train, go for it. Once she's in the chamber I can join you until she's finished."

With that, she flew Era back to the ship to get her some rest.

Totoma sat there calmly his eyes unblinking, he took it all in, every movement, every bit of tension and every ounce of pain. Era, was struggling for their sake, after all, to obtain a power they didn't fully understand. It would be a taxing ordeal for her, and he would not do her the injustice of looking away.

As her attempt came to an end a thought appeared in his head. One that may be able to push her over the edge. "Kurosa, let me handle her training next time, I have an idea." He gave a small but confident smile. "In the meantime I'm going to do some light training till you get back." Without another word, he lept from the top of the ship towards the barren wasteland below.

Rather than powering up Totoma decided to focus more on his basics. To do so he brought his power dangerously low so that he could feel the gravity of the planet weighing him down once again. If he would be able to obtain the same power as Era he would need to make sure his body could handle it, so he began to put his body under strain of the planet and went about throwing punches and kicks as if he was trying to hone his style even further. By the time Kurosa would return he would already be coated in sweat, but still full of energy.

Era was placed in her rejuvenation chamber once again, but this time Kurosa stayed with her until she exited. And exit she did. Era walked out of the chamber fully rejuvenated, and flew back to Totoma with Kurosa.

As they landed, Kurosa smiled.

"So, Totoma... What's this big idea of yours?" She asked.

Era was a bit nervous about trying again so soon, but the rejuvenation chamber was there if anything bad happened.

Totoma stopped his training mid kick as he saw Era and Kurosa return. "Ah, you're out already." He said with a smile as he raised his power back to an appropriate level to where the gravity would no longer bother him. "So my idea is simple and may require a bit of tweaking. But let's see how well the first part works." Without saying anything he approached Era and looked her in the eyes. "You've only been thinking of how Kurosa and myself would act upon your death correct?" His smile faded as he placed on hand on her cheek. "It is true losing you would cause us no end of grief. Even now the hole left by Cerely and Jaoco remain ever-present in our heart. I would hate to imagine the mark you would leave." He lowered his hand back to his side and took a step back. "Kurosa had almost the right idea with imaging and blaming him. But she missed the mark just a bit. Instead of visualizing your death. Imagine ours. Our cold lifeless bodies sprawled across the ground beneath HIS feet!"

Kurosa was a bit interested in Totoma's change of strategy compared to what she had tried before. And she had to admit he had a point. It was easier to feel a powerful emotion like fear, anguish, and anger if the subject was responsible not for your own death, but the deaths of others close to you.

Era was a little pale.

"I don't... Want to imagine that." She said quietly.

Kurosa put a hand on her shoulder.

"Try to relax Era. It's just a mental vision. We're still here." She assured her.

Era nodded quietly and floated into the sky. She closed her eyes, and tried her best to envision them facing the tyrant and losing. Era being beaten back, and Kurosa and Totoma killed and lying dead at his feet. Empty, blank, glazed over stares of grey where vibrant pupils and irises had once been. Their chests being still and silent. No heartbeat present.

Lifeless.

Era began to undergo the change, just as before. Unfortunately, just as before, she collapsed from exhaustion before it could finish. When it was over, Kurosa theorized that visions alone weren't enough because Era's unconscious mind knew it was fake. Either the tragedies had to be real, or the transformation had to happen for another reason. The emotions needed to be genuine. Or else the mind would hold the body back.

For now, they were done trying to get Era to harness this power. So Kurosa decided to give it a go herself. However, she too met with failure and collapsed from exhaustion. And when she came back down, she admitted that the strain was even greater than all the gravity they'd gotten used to. She'd never felt so exhausted in her life as she did failing to trigger whatever this transformation was.

Totoma watched as his siblings attempted the transformation, only to be met with failure once again. "We're still missing something." he commented aloud to himself. "I guess I should attempt it at least once." He was already exhausted from his training but he still had plenty of energy to spare. Taking a few steps from Both Kurosa and Era he began to power up to his maximum limit. The ground shook beneath him, cracking and shifting with each passing second. Yet he immediately stopped as he felt his mind slip slightly, as that clawing sensation at the back of his mind reappeared. Without wanting to risk it he dropped his power back to around 1 million.

The days that followed were somewhat of a blur for the group.

The disheartened feeling they all got from repeated failures to attain and harness the dormant power within. The golden glow. It was maddening. Tensions began to run high for Kurosa, knowing that such a potentially life-changing power was within their grasp but continued to elude them.

However... Even without attaining the power, their powers were growing.

Totoma had reached a total of 4.6 million. Era 4.1 million. And Kurosa 3.8 million.

But that was as far as they got, for their time had run out...

The Galactic Tyrant had discovered them and was now rapidly approaching. Era could sense his power despite him being half a galaxy away, and he was moving quickly. Era estimated him to be only two days away.

Times were growing desperate.

The entire group fought hard to attain that golden glow, but in the end it was no use. They failed time after time to attain it, and by the time they knew it was no use the time had come. One final stint in the rejuvenation chamber to restore their stamina was all they had time for. As when they all stepped out and dried off, the Galactic Tyrant was close enough that he was being picked up by their Scouters.

At present, his power was in the 5 million range, obviously being suppressed but still at a level worthy to command an entire galaxy.

His ship appeared in the sky above them as they all stood outside waiting for him, and the lower bay doors opened revealing him to them as he floated down towards them.

He was remarkably humanoid, not unlike them. But with pale white skin and deep blue eyes he held a natural sense of tranquility as he slowly floated down to greet them.

Image

Slowly he descended before landing not far away, greeting them with a smile, of all things. And as he spoke, his voice was deep, deeper than Totoma's, with an almost soft and serene quality to it. One you'd never expect from a "tyrant."

"Greetings, Saiyans." He said in a calm, friendly manner.

"I was informed that you had attained power far beyond the norm for your race, and I wished to see it for myself. Now, standing here before you, I can sense your great power... Well done." He said.

He walked forward towards them, and Kurosa immediately took the front of the group to intercept him, meeting him almost face to face.

"Now, I have something to ask you all." He said.

Kurosa's eyes narrowed.

"If it's about joining you, forget it. We are free now." She proclaimed.

He chuckled.

"Well, that is unfortunate. It would be a shame to waste power such as yours. You could accomplish great things as my partners in ruling the galaxy." He offered.

Kurosa shook her head slowly.

"We will not be your 'partners,' because we know what you do to them when you have no further use for them. They die. And we will not subject ourselves to being your 'partners just so you can kill us and throw us away like garbage when you're done with us." She barked.

His deep blue eyes closed, but his smile remained.

"Mmm... That is indeed an unfortunately inaccurate analysis. There are rumors that my partners are killed, but they are false. They are allowed to leave when their service to me has run its course. Many choose to disappear due to the hatred they receive for being affiliated with me. But they are not killed. Not unless they attempt to betray me."

Kurosa shook her head.

"The answer is still "no." We are free, and we intend to stay that way." She said.

He clicked his tongue.

"Tsk. Tsk. Tsk. My dear, I don't think you understand the situation." He said, his tone becoming slightly firmer.

Kurosa could tell the "tyrant" was about to appear by his voice, and her fists clenched at her sides.

"Your entire race is subject to me, as are you by affiliation. If you want to be truly free, you have to seize it for yourself. And that means..."

His power rapidly shot up to 20 million, despite no Ki flares or aura.

"You must take your freedom from me by force if you ever want to be out from under my thumb!" He said with a snarl.

He took a stance, and gave Kurosa time to back away and take her own.

... The fight of their lives was about to begin.

Totoma threw himself into his training from the moment Era had mentioned she could sense the Tyrant coming. They were far from ready to face them, the golden from still far beyond their reach. In his training, he knew there was a way to close the gap if only slightly. The red aura from his berserk from was still unperfected but it could be a trump card for Kurosa and Era to escape if needed. Yet despite all of his training he only reached a power of 4.6 million, nowhere near close to the rumored 50 million of the tyrant, which Totoma was sure wasn't really his full power.

As the last few hours dwindled from them, Totoma rested in meditation. He would grasp the full control over his power and wanted to make sure there were no chances of him losing it. Fear mixed with excitement as he anticipated the battle.

The Tyrants ship came within visual distance and he stood to meet the challenge. After taking one deep breathe he exited the ship with his siblings. "So he's finally here."

Totoma stepped back and aloud Kurosa to be their voices against the Tyrant. As their enemy exited the ship Totoma felt uneasy just by looking at him. It dawned on him that he had actually never seen the Tyrant in person before. The way he stood and carried himself all screamed imposing force. And his words dripped with elegance coated in poison. It disgusted him the idea of working for him, but it would save them if only temporarily and of course Kurosa refused this offer.

As the Tyrants power swelled to 20 million effortlessly, he knew there was no going back. Taking a stand next to Kurosa, he took his stance and flared his ki as he reached his max power. "Don't think we're just going to lay down and die." Totoma felt his body trembling, yet not out of fear as he expected but out of excitement to truly fight without holding back. No restriction, no hiding, he would put everything into this fight, even if it kills him.

A smile grew on his face before turning into a grin. The first hit would be important and so Totoma did what he always does. Rushing forward at his max speed readying to deliver a powerful punch. "OVERDRIVE TIMES 3!!" Without warning his power jumped to 13.8 million as a dark red aura wrapped around him, causing his muscles to expand and speed to drastically increase. It sent a wave of pain through his body but ignored it as he went to land his attack.

Totoma fell flat onto the ground with a solid thud, his power fell instantly back down to 4.6 million. It took him a moment to stand back up, he had hoped hit sudden spike would have been enough to catch the Tyrant by surprise. It would seem he overestimated his abilities. With a quick glance to Kurosa and Era, he could see the fear, feel it. His mind raced through different scenarios, none of them good.

With his trump card exposed and seemingly useless, he tried to deduce a way to at least allow them to survive. His eyes widened as he a solution finally came forward. It was dangerous and may even cost his life, but Kurosa and Era would both survive, it might even trigger that form for one of them.

"It's incredible." He called out with a confident laugh. Slowly he moved in between the Tyrant and his sisters. "I used to think a power level of 200,000 was impressive and her you are powered up to 30 million like it's barely a warm-up. I should be terrified, nothing more than a sniveling mess. Yet as I see that power, I only get more excited. You truly are a being of unequaled prowess." Totoma shouted seemingly undaunted by his failure. In an odd turn of an event, he bowed before the Tyrant. "I apologize for my rude gesture of not going all out in my first attack. I shall rectify that now."

Totoma then began flaring his Ki despite the fact his power would not rise any further. "Kurosa... Era. I'm sorry I wasn't stronger. This is the only way I know how to be. I love you both. " And with a shout, he kept trying to power up to no avail, his power sat unchanging at 4.6 million. Then suddenly they saw it, Totoma's eyes slowly began to turn pure white, his power flaring uncontrollably. He was going berserk, he needed to remove any restrains he had mental or otherwise. This was the first time he had ever done this willingly, and the result bore the fruit he had hoped for, slowly his power began to rise, peaking at 5 million. His muscles expanded to the point his flesh began to rip, and as every second passed by his mind seemed to vanish.

Finally, the beastly form that was Totoma stopped, he stood there ready to charge forward, yet something seemed different. It was subtle and most would probably not notice it, but Kurosa would. She who had seen this form several times would notice that rather than being a beast that attacked everything his focus was solely on one, the Tyrant. Totoma would put everything that he is into his next attack even if it would leave him broken. In this state he was unsure what Kurosa and Era would do, would they run, or fight alongside him. It honestly didn't matter to him as long as he was able to put everything he has into his next strike. "If you... want interesting..... then try this." Surprisingly he was still able to speak, albeit much rough sounding than normal.

Kurosa watched in horror as Totoma began powering up to unleash, willingly, the uncontrollable berserker state he had held back from for so long. Era shouted for him to stop, to no avail.

"Era! Let's go! We have to help him!" She shouted.

Kurosa let her Ki flare around her and rushed forward, followed closely by Era who was absolutely terrified of the consequences of this maneuver.

Now with one of his sisters on either side of him, Totoma led them forward in a vicious charge. And it was he who threw the first attack only to have it blocked by the tyrant. He also blocked Kurosa's attack, but Era's managed to sneak by his defenses.

He took the hit, but barely even flinched or acknowledged the blow. Instead, he pulled Totoma and Kurosa smashing their heads together and sending them falling in the sky from the pain and shock of the blow. He then whipped around and kicked Era in the stomach sending her flying backwards with a fresh load of saliva coughing out of her mouth.

Era paused in the air, coughing again with a small stream of blood trickling out of the corner of her mouth as she looked up at the tyrant.

She hated him. She didn't even know his name, but she hated him.

Era's fists trembled at her sides, and she rushed at him again.

Kurosa, meanwhile, had just barely recovered and was rushing the tyrant as well.

Totoma's body burned, ached and twitched uncontrollably. This power welling up inside needed to be released. Images flashed through his shattered mind, Cerely and Jaoco, both lying lifeless on the ground. He had been too weak to save them, that weakness defined him and it was a definition he had longed to change. He stood up from the ground shouting as his Ki flared once again. "OVERDRIVE TIMES 10!!" he shouted at the top of his lungs as the red aura once again enveloped him. The increased to his muscles caused his flesh to practically tear off, his body felt as if it was on fire, but his power jumped to 50 million.

In a flash, he appeared before the Tyrant and unleashed an unrelenting assault. In a mad flurry, he unleashed everything he had at the cost of his body. With each punch, he delivered pain shot through his body, and with each kick, he was sure bones were beginning to crack. Totoma raised both hands in the air before bringing them hurtling down like a sledgehammer, too send the Tyrant straight into the ground. And with that final blow, the red aura vanished but Totoma's power didn't fall to 4 million instead it dropped to below 100,000 as his body collapsed. Totoma laid on the ground blood dripping from every open wound caused by his transformation.

Kurosa and Era had attacked, and were easily repelled. And as such, he powered up to 40 million as promised when their attacks failed.

Totoma then attacked like a madman with a power now ten times his base, of 50 million. He was unable to repel the attacks, and tried to power up before Totoma could get his hits in. But it was too late. The blows landed, and he was thrown to the ground with tremendous force.

However, Totoma was down as well.

Era and Kurosa were instantly at his side as the tyrant shakily rose to his feet.

"... I've had enough." He growled.

He then powered up to his true maximum power. 50 million was the one he let everyone see and know about before to cement his rule as the galactic tyrant he is. But his true power was far beyond that. His power rose to 80 million. 100 million. 120 million. 140 million. And finally came to rest at 150 million. Three times what his power was supposed to be.

And as he finished powering up, he looked at the Saiyans as the two women kneeled over their brother.

"Totoma, talk to me!" Era begged.

Kurosa put a hand on him and began transferring energy to him to keep him stable. But this would only work for so long...

"Now you face my true power... A power beyond your imagination!" He said.

He was just boasting now. Reveling in the shock before the kill.

Era, meanwhile, was reduced to a sobbing mess and was crying uncontrollably for her brother's current state.

"So... Saiyans... Do you still intend to face me now that you've seen my true power?" He asked.

Kurosa didn't reply. She was too busy trying to keep Totoma alive.

Era though...

The air began to grow hotter around her, and a subtle breeze was emanating from her body. Tiny, almost imperceptible sparks of bio-electricity began to appear in the sky all around them, and the planet's cloud formations began to block out the sun.

The tyrant started taking notice of this.

"What's going on?" He asked to nobody in particular.

The dark clouds began releasing large bolts of golden electricity into the sky, arcing and flashing across the land and bathing the world in a golden light with each strike.

Thunder rumbled. The ground began to quake. And Kurosa was not happy about Totoma being in such a state in this kind of condition. She picked him up, carefully, and flew a distance away to a small rock formation that was a near perfect cave to shelter him in. She didn't like leaving Era there, but something told her that Era was the source of all this.

And indeed she was.

Era's power was changing. The very air around her sizzled and crackled with energy and power. And it was unlike anything they'd seen before.

When she powered up to the golden glow before, it was induced physically. There was tension. There was rage. There was intense emotion and an obvious force of power on Era's part. But this time... None of that.

Era was sobbing, and completely relaxed otherwise. Her body was not tense, save for her tears. She was crying. Gasping. Sniffling. And her hands covered her face like always when she cried. No fists. No flexing body or musculature. Just Era sitting there in tears while the sky opened up with a wild flow of power.

"What's... Going on?" Kurosa asked aloud.

The tyrant had to dodge a few lightning strikes, and as he did so he looked down to Era as it began to dawn on him that she was the cause of this change. The wind coming from her body. The sparks centralized around her location in the sky around them. And the fact that there was nobody other than him here who could cause such a phenomenon, but he wasn't causing it.

He quickly gathered his Ki and sent a blast at Era. But it evaporated as if it struck some kind of thick, liquid-like barrier before reaching her and fizzled out in the superheated air around her body. He tried again. Same result. His Ki was vaporizing before it could reach her.

So he tried the direction approach, only to be shocked by the bio-electricity in the air which sent him reeling backwards.

He could not approach her to stop whatever this was...

((I'm BACK!!))

Era's furious power gathering began to reach a feverish pitch. Kurosa's scouter was going haywire, and ultimately it shattered due to an overload in how rapidly Era's power was rising. The last number it read was 90 million, and still skyrocketing by the second.

Down on the ground, Era continued to weep for her brother's condition. Her hands finally balled into fists, and her cries began to slowly shift to screams of anger. Her made it to her feet, and threw her arms and head back to shriek at the skies.

The lightning strikes increased in both size and frequency, striking several times per second all across the landscape for miles and miles in every direction. The very planet itself beneath their feet was trembling under the pressure of her ever building power, and Era finally began to flash with that golden light the three of them had sought all this time.

Her aura flashed gold.

Her hair and tail flashed gold.

Her irises flashed teal.

And with each flash her musculature grew slightly before returning to normal. And this happened over... And over... And over again.

Kurosa watched with bated breath, but also... Pride.

She was doing it. She was finally doing it! That stimulus they needed but did not have before. That sense of true urgency and need to make it all work. Totoma's condition, though self-induced, was what Era needed to see to make it happen.

Kurosa's mouth finally curled into a smile as she grinned ear to ear while Era's power continued to grow.

"That's it, Era... The time has come for you to ascend to the next stage of Saiyan existence. The power we discovered lurking just beneath the surface. Take hold of it, and show the entire universe its splendor!"

Era's power finally stopped flashing, turning golden and staying that way. And as she stood there shrieking to the skies her eyes glassed over and turned completely white. One final shriek, and another small explosion of concussive force from her body, and it was over.

The dust cleared and the wind slowly died as the skies returned to normal. Era stood there on the ground, her body engulfed in a softly flowing, fiery like aura of golden energy. Her hair was a gleaming gold to match, her irises teal like aquamarine gemstones. Her tail, golden to match her hair, wrapped around her waist.

And within it all, Kurosa could see in Era's face a sense of rage. She was calm on the outside, but a rage was burning inside that would not likely be quelled until the tyrant had fallen.

"Good luck, Era. It's all on you now." She whispered.

Era's eyes shifted towards the tyrant who floated absolutely stunned and dumbfounded at the sudden transformation. He couldn't even speak. All he could do was gawk as the new golden warrior glared daggers into his heart.

Totoma laid there bearly conscious, his body was racked with unbelievable pain, this was the price of being reckless. As he faded in and out he felt someone holding him and with his muddled senses he could hear someone crying. "Era..." His corse voice managed to let out. It took everything he had left just to stay awake even with the flow of energy coming from who he assumed Kurosa. Yet, even despite his sister's best effort his power level continued to drop. His life as fading fast.

His own blood vision as he managed to steal a glance at Era, in the thralls of her rage. The Golden energy flowing off of her was blinding, yet he couldn't help but give a pride-filled smile. His death would allow them to reach new heights. Slowly he turned his gaze to Kurosa who had been doing everything she could to keep him alive. "I'm sorry I wasn't stronger." his voice was low and weak barely higher than a whisper. "I wanted to protect both of you...but I've only caused you pain." tears slowly formed in his eyes as he reached a bloodied hand up to Kurosa's cheek. "Forgive my weakness... I love you both so much." As his hand fell to his side his power plummeted to barely a hundred as his conscious faded. He was still alive if only barely.

Wow, I didn't think you would give up so easily. A familiar voice said to him. The indomitable Totoma is just going to just roll up and let his sisters handle everything.

"Jaoco?" His weary voice questioned.

"Bingo! Good to know you never forgot the sound of my voice."

Totoma eyes snapped open and he was no longer laying in his sisters arms, instead, he found himself standing on the planet he and the others had grown up. In front of him stood his deceased siblings Cerely and Jaoco. "It's good to see you brother." They both said with a smile before running up and hugging him.

"I guess I really am dead..." Totoma said as he held the two of them. "I've missed you two so much."

As they parted from the embrace Cerely was the first to speak up. She was the shortest of the five but always so full of energy in many ways she was the closest to Totoma's personality just for things other than training. "You're not dead yet... but you are dying."

"We just wanted to talk with you real quick." Jaoco said as he looked up to his brother. Only standing slightly shorter the Totoma Jaoco was born just a few months before him. Like Totoma Jaoco had a knack for enjoying battles but utilized speed over brute strength. Together Totoma and Jaoco were an unbeatable pair. Jaoco placed a hand on Totoma's shoulder and focused, this allowed Totoma to see what was happening in the battle right now.

This was slightly unsettling seeing as Totoma could see Kurosa holding his body. Not too far from them, Era had finally obtained that golden form. "She did it! I knew she could do it!"

"It is an impressive form, but the grief to obtain it... is unbearable. Era was always strong, we all knew it." Jaoco paused. "Yet she was the kindest of as all. Now here she stands, ready to defeat the Tyrant that rules the galaxy. Fulled by rage and anger she might actually kill him."

"We believe he should die." Celery chimed in. "But not by her hand. It isn't her way."

"Totoma... are you still afraid." Jaoco removed his hand taking them back to their home. "You fear your power. Yet you long to possess it."

"No, I conquered that power I made it mine!" He corrected. "I allowed it to push me further to land a hit that could harm the Tyrant."

"No.. you merely directed the anger towards a single point. That is not the same as controlling it. You suppressed it than unleashed it. Time and time again I witnessed you run from your full potential." Totoma's brother lectured. "You saw what you thought as a limitation and allowed Era to pick up the slack."

Totoma stood there silent, knowing the words to be true. He was afraid, afraid of his power, afraid of dying, afraid of his sisters dying. There was so much he wanted but he was just so terrified he would lose all control and attack Kurosa or Era.

"We were right." Celery commented. "You used that dangerous technique to hurt yourself in an attempt to push Era over the edge. It was a good plan."

"But you let yourself waste away at the expense." Jaoco and Cerely embraced there brother once more. "We're both so sorry, but you can't come here yet. Kurosa and Era still need you."

Totoma's body in Kurosa arms suddenly began to convulse as his power quickly and violently rose up to a stable level.

Holding onto Totoma, Kurosa felt him convulse as his power returned to a stable level. She glanced worriedly at him, and then in the direction of their ship. Era's power up had ended, and the tyrant was preoccupied. Now was the opportune time to take Totoma back to the rejuvenation chamber.

"Totoma. I'm going to take you back to the ship to recover. Just hold tight." She said.

Meanwhile, Era took a step to face the tyrant. And in her eyes was a murderous glare like none she'd ever demonstrated before. Her usually calm and peaceful eyes were replaced by those of a ruthless and cold-hearted warrior intent on taking revenge against the tyrant before her.

But as he floated there, he was not impressed.

"Hmph. I don't know what this transformation is, but I can sense that it's not strong enough to defeat me! But nice try, little girl!" He called.

Era didn't flinch or allow herself to be goaded by him. Instead, she stood her ground as he began charging up a massive Ki blast.

The tyrant growled in effort, and launched a massive discharge of Ki at Era who stood firm against the oncoming assault. The blast grew in size the further it traveled, becoming several times larger around than Era was tall. But Era still did not budge. Instead, she put one hand out and caught the blast against her hand, stopping it cold and making the tyrant's mouth drop.

Era snarled a little and sent out her own Ki blast. The blue light which emerged from her hand flew straight through the center of the tyrant's blast and forced him to retreat out of the way, cancelling out the blast he'd sent her way which dissipated into nothing.

He watched Era's blast fly out into the expanse of space, and slowly turned to look at her... But she was gone.

He was startled to see she had disappeared, and frantically began searching for where she had gone. He turned this way and that in an attempt to find her but could not see where she had gone.

But Kurosa found her.

Knowing Era as well as she did, it didn't take her long to spot where her sister had gone.

And as the tyrant continued looking around and beneath himself to find her, an elbow slammed into the top of his head sending him sprawling down into the ground with a tremendous thud. It caused a crater upon impact, a massive wall of dust and debris, and shook the planet slightly.

Kurosa couldn't help but smile as Era floated down towards the ground to land at the edge of the crater as the dust began to settle.

"Egomaniacs like him never look up." Kurosa remarked with a chuckle.

She looked to Totoma.

"Hey. You doing okay? I really should take you to your chamber." She said.
